It's boring, we've seen it a million times, and it allows a killer to make several huge mistakes and still not lose any pressure.
Even Dead Hard at least needs to be timed and can only be used once in a chase. Ruin/Undying is just equip and forget while buffing literally any Killer on the roster by a significant amount.
The queues speak for themselves on the current state of killer perks and how easy it is for an unskilled Killer to control the game when you throw on multiple slowdowns.
-
Survivor is absolutely hellish at night mainly due to the way killers decide to play and the builds they use, but during the day you tend to get killers a few more killers that are just vibing. I've basically just stopped playing survivor after 2pm, I can only play against Blight/Nurse/Rusty Shackles with 4 slowdown so many times before I fall asleep.
Killer got slightly harder for me, the players aren't gods, but I have seen far more exhaustion/unbreakable lately. If anything, this made my experience better. I don't get constant babies every match like the old system but I don't feel like an oppressed killer with the new one by any means. Anyone who is complaining about constant sweat squads, I don't see it on the Killer's PoV.
Tldr: I just stick with killer right now, I feel mostly in control of my experience, whereas solo survivor has become pretty much unplayable.
-
Remember when all the Spirit players said Spirit was totally balanced because Iron Will counters her, so every single spirit started running Stridor which made Iron Will (her only "counter") an empty perk slot.
It's almost like you want your opponent to have no counterplay against you. You're already playing Spirit, if you use your ears/scratch marks, you're still a top 5 killer easily even if all 4 players had Iron Will.
-
I've just started killing myself on hook when I don't want to play out an exceptionally boring match. There's no value in playing out certain matches unless you love having your patience worn down.
I'm not getting paid to play a video game, I do it for fun. If there's no fun to be had/other players are going out of their way to ruin someone else's enjoyment, 5 minutes means nothing when I'm just going to switch games.
On either side, I see both sides DCing all the time, so the penalty seems extremely useless to me. Killer's just stand still and refuse to play when 1 little thing goes wrong and survivors DC on their first down just like they did before the penalty.
-
If NOED goes base kit, current DS or BT should be base kit as well. Kinda sick of having 2 perk slots removed because most Killers hate fun.
-
By announcing it I'm sure sales spiked a little from people getting ready to cross-progress on Switch which is the worst selling platform for DBD. There really isn't any other reason why they promised this 1+ years out.
Like many things this company promises, they're hoping we forget about it and don't whine too much. This is what happens when software development companies let their employees work whenever they want.
-
I've seen nothing but Nurses and Spirits stacking multiple slowdowns after several games this morning.
Maybe you're not used to actually being challenged and you can't handle when the game gets a little difficult?

Pop Corrupt Thana Sloppy
Ruin Undying Tinkerer Monitor Deathslinger
Pop Corrupt Stridor Spirit
You deserve worse frames to be honest.

Fact: Everyone knows gens get done too fast, hence why Killers run Corrupt Intervention, Hex: Ruin, Pop, etc. If you deny it at this point you're just willingly ignorant.
Generators should not go from 80s to 47s with 2 survivors working on it. This gets reduced even further with one instance of Prove Thyself.
Personally, I've run Prove Thyself as a solo survivor in 20 games now and it's absurd how fast 2 people can complete a gen. It leaves no time for a killer to chase literally anyone.
Chase initiated, me and a teammate are on a new gen, they get hit, we're at half way, they get downed and hooked, 80%, finished by the time they even get to the gen. This is not fair.
Side Note: Totems need to be hidden better, the spawn locations have never been touched and it's been an issue for years now. The one time they 'did' something about it was introducing Hex: Undying.. and proceeded to nerf it for money. Pretty ######### slimy.
To know something is an issue, introduce a hex to fix it, wait for people to spend money on it, then nerf it. That's ######### disgusting.
Starting your terrible argument off Ad Hominem isn't the best way to get your point across.
I've been running slowdown-less with chase perks on Wraith and the only time gens fly by is when I go out of my way to do something cocky/stupid/greedy in the first chase and get punished for it.
Getting hooks is the best pressure in the game and doesn't require you to take up perk slots just to erase your own mistakes.

You don't speak for the whole of the community though, there are a portion of us that enjoy facing and playing the twins
I'm sure there are plenty of brainlets in the DBD community who would enjoy the asinine gameplay the Twins bring.
And no, the Twins being an unhealthy addition to the game is something most survivors and killers can agree on. I haven't seen a SINGLE survivor play against them and have fun, I have seen some killers that love to how close you can leave Charlotte or Victor to the hook and block basement.

From my understanding and from what I've seen PC is a hell of a lot more looked at than consoles. Just look at the FPS among other things.
Or your 7-8 year old console hardware is hard to develop for simultaneously with a PC game thats still receiving updates in 2021

Blight, gives a ton of map control and control over chases once you know where you can use your power to guarantee a hit. Takes lots of practice to master but anyone can jump right in and have fun. He's 115 so the tiles you can't use your power in aren't miserable like Huntress/Slinger on certain maps. Survivors can trial and error until they find out there are many short objects you can position around perfectly to deny a power hit.
The turning radius can feel bad but you can counter getting spun by starting your swing when you are right on top of the survivor, even if they spin behind you, you still get the hit. Survivors can also level on this and spin the first time, make you whiff, and not spin the second time and make you whiff again when you compensate for them spinning. Its a healthy 50/50 that both sides can do something about, unlike spirit's heavily killer-sided coin flip.
I don't recommend blight on controller, the highest skill level (and fun!) you can achieve with blight involves you bumping a wall and instantly turning to face a survivor/the next bump. Something you can't do very well when a stick is controlling the camera.
Huntress would be here if laggy huntresses actually got punished for their terrible connection instead of getting free hits. Mechanically, she's balanced though.
-
Its just a bad description. BHVR wanted a third-person game dodge roll with i-frames, in every game with a dodge roll mechanic like this, you have frames where you are invincible to absolutely everything if you time it right. This was clearly their design.
When they wrote the perk description, they wanted players to look at it and understand right off the bat what the perk would mainly be used for. It would be a lot harder for them to explain "your hitbox is disabled for a second" to their mostly casual playerbase.
-
What are you on? They literally buffed pyramid head's ranged potential, unless you were someone that relied on feathering 50 times in a row until you got a free hit. You can still feather with him to just not as easily.
The survivor add-ons are trash, and survivors are competing in the bloodweb for more items/add-ons than killers. It's easier to farm what you want on killer despite the fact killer earns more points.
-
- When Behaviour stops supporting it and we get bored
- When another dev team releases a slightly competitive, asymmetrical, cat and mouse chase game where both sides can level on each other to shorten/extend the chase, does something better than DBD, and releases while DBD is in another bad patch for 3 months (like Legion release).
#1 is the only realistic outcome, BHVR's grasp on the horror genre and its icons makes developing competition for this game high risk/low reward and BHVR knows this, that's why the game isn't treated very well/better paid devs aren't hired to take care of it

Nearly every other game with an SWF/premade ability compensates for this by either inflating the MMR of people queuing together (meaning that they will face a more challenging opponent) or granting the other side a bonus of some kind.
It's easy to fix without removing SWF.
However, for some reason, not only won't BHVR fix it, they've even walked back some of the fixes they made in the past.
Except we've seen time and time again this doesn't work in Dead By Daylight. In more competitive games, slightly inflating lower MMR players to their higher MMR friends is generally the best way to handle premade matchmaking. In DBD, we saw just how many "sweat squads" are actually out there when every red rank killer was getting 3 rank 20 babies and 1 person above rank 5 almost every match when BHVR enabled premade matchmaking. It was awful and every single killer streamer commented on their negative experience with it. OhTofu and ScottJund still have youtube videos out from when it was enabled.
-
Stream sniping isn't bannable but purposefully targeting the same person MULTIPLE times (especially if its to grief them with either strong builds or directly countering them by looking at their stream) scoots really close to the edge of their ToS and they have given warnings and bans to people who were giving streamers a rough time back when it was easier to snipe someone.
And of course, if you use someone's stream to peak on their game for extra info, you're not playing DBD at that point. Even if they're asking for it. If you think comms are an issue but wonder if screen-peaking is ok, I can't argue with you.

Why should I bring a solution? I'm not a developer to do that, I'm a customer giving feedback.
Which makes your thread useless and a waste of time. We already have thousands of bad/average players that think they are DBD gods and the second a survivor gives them a reality check they scream "SWF COMMS OP" on the forums.
Complaining without offering a solution and ignoring counter arguments is a childish way to deal with anything in life. Tell us in the OP what you think could be done about the 1/20 premades that actually sweat.
-
I wouldn't dodge. Survivors will kill themselves on hook when they stop having fun/to spite you, but they are willing to stay in the game and give you an actual match when they are playing with their friends. Like people have said, most people are doing just that, playing with their friends.
Just because they might be saying "He's on me" or "I'm going for the save, do gens" to save some time doesn't make them better at chases. If you're good at chases as killer, their communication means very little for most of the match. The problem is that most of you aren't good and rely on slowdown perks and uncoordinated teams for wins (which is most matches anyway).
If you think friends playing together and having fun in discord is them "cheating", your brain is smooth.
-
Literally 99% of the time I use Pop its either right after I hook someone or I use it and still have 30 seconds on it. Sometimes I even don't use it at all because taking the chase is the better decision.
This nerf doesn't change that. It does change scenarios where killers were getting chain pops which almost always forces the game to a defeat in uncoordinated teams. Playing solo is already frustrating enough and Pop is one of those perks that further punishes you personally in solo queue for lower performing teammates. Why wouldn't I run a sweaty 4 man every game with people I know are decent when the other side is constantly getting rewarded for scenarios that aren't my fault???
It's a perk that gives you a massive reward for simply doing your job, now there's slightly more risk. It hardly even a nerf but people are so reliant on running the same perks every game they can't handle a tiny hair of a change.

Flashlight blind, side step shock, unhook.
This doesn't work if the Doctor has 1 functioning brain cell.

There is nothing you can do by yourself, its a flaw with the game. You NEED a second teammate that knows what they are doing to unhook from a spam shock at hook Doc.
-
Wraith absolutely does not need a rework. Add one Purple Windstorm to his base kit, then nerf his Windstorm addons and he would be perfect.
Not every killer needs some stalk, insta-down, teleport across map power to be good. I generally do great with Wraith while I have both Green and Purple Windstorm equipped. Unfortunately at the moment, when you don't have Windstorm addons in your inventory, Wraith is terrible.
Full Rework: Deathslinger, Spirit, Clown, Hag
Partial Rework: Ghostface, Freddy
Tuning: Wraith, Trapper, Doctor
-
Dead Hard: I will never take this off, I don't care how bad it is sometimes, I love being able to play super greedy once. When I play killer, playing well and then watching a survivor fix their mistake by pressing a button feels frustrating sometimes, which is why I consider it an addiction.
Pop Goes the Weasel: Super easy to use, tons of pressure. Sure, sometimes you have to decide between using your perk and getting a down but sometimes you can do both. I feel when I equip this I can generally chill in matches as any killer. As long as I do my job I get free pressure. When I play survivor, watching my bad teammate go down and knowing my own pressure is going to be nullified by my dumb teammate feels too oppressive sometimes, which is why I consider it an addiction.

It's been a serious problem. Any amount of gen's left, but only 2 survivors remaining. The two survivors will hide, and refuse to do gens. Just to have a chance at getting the free win from the hatch. Taking the game hostage, or until the Killer finds one of them.
Just played in a match for 2 hours, simply because I had nothing better to do anyways (so I wasn't forced to DC). Wanted to see how long it would go for, and when I could actually find one.
@Peanits Any dev's want to explain to me again why adding the hatch to stop players from taking the game hostage was a good idea even in the first place? Because imo it did nothing but cause players to take the game hostage anyway they can for the easy/free win.
Killers: Tunnel, camp, and slug whenever they feel like it because it creates easy pressure (thought not always the best one), especially if they're losing. This can waste a lot of the Survivor's time and is generally not fun for them.
Survivors: Hide as long as they want (with a 15 minute limit before they get banned) when they're losing because it increases their chances of escaping/getting their daily. This can waste a lot of the Killer's time and is generally not fun for them.

I'm not seeing the normal holes in the walls of the shack (perhaps its the angle of the screenshot), which makes me worry that I won't be able to shoot survivors through them with deathslinger anymore. 😥
Yeah but it also means good survivors won't just wait at one of the corners and watch which direction you go through one of the 4 holes
I actually wish both of these things would stay, it adds some depth.

In 2017 I did nothing but play DBD all day on both sides.
Game was so unbalanced but there was something about it that kept me coming back to play both sides. Killer 4Ks were extremely satisfying, none of the killers were unfun (except a god nurse), and Borrowed Time came out early 2017 to make up for the fact that a LOT more killers camped back then. I could literally wake up on Saturday and play until early morning sunday with my friends, and switching it up with killer breaks in between. Twitch community was thriving since release and the game was small enough that you saw the same faces often, but not too often.
I took long breaks but always came back. I can safely say, I do not have that same feeling anymore. Even after long breaks I get bored of DBD after 2 games, it still has its really good moments but it is nowhere near as fun as it was back in 2017. I keep coming back and trying it out to see if they can replicate that feeling but its clear they want to go for "balance" which doesn't exist in a game like this.

Because of the way a lot of pigs play
- You get downed once
- You get rescued and now need to take off your trap
- Pig follows you around just enough to zone you away from the boxes so as to waste away the timer
- Die because a timer ran out
And if thats not the case, then you end up getting ######### over not picking the right box, now you've wasted 5 minutes of your teams time and might still die, especially if you bump into the pig again.
Nobody in their right mind is calling pig OP, she's just annoying how people choose to play her.

Could you say why they need some camera advantage?
Killers:
-Invulnerable and can damage opponents
-10-15% faster than the other side
-Even if you are going to lose/are losing your power and zoning only gets better in most scenarios as more resources are used by survivors and you still have at least a small chance to snowball at all points in the game. Especially when doing objectives limits the areas survivors can be in while still being useful
-Requires 4 different people to queue up to satisfy 1 person's game
Survivors:
-Only offensive option is to be good at chases and get the killer to chase you, which the killer can just choose not to do and feed off of the lowest hanging fruit
-Can be downed and not able to play the game temporarily, or permanently if the killer desires it
-10-15% slower than the other side
-Snowballing after losing is very rare. It becomes very easy to tell when you are going to win or lose based on when the first 2 downs happen compared to the amount of objectives done
-Random teammates can completely get rid of all resources on one side of the map and still get killed quickly, which gives the killer pressure and mostly nullifies your personal skill on that side of the map, pray they also don't 3 gen you on that same side

You overestimate the DBD forums, in most cases this thread would be a joke, but its not.

The only argument for bloodlust staying in the game is that there are very unlucky tile spawns where shack is placed next to a long wall jungle gym.
Unless they actually figure out how to play the game and have their map generation system not put strong tiles together, bloodlust will stay and allow killers to hit you no matter how good you are/how terrible the killer is.

What are you talking about?
I can copy paste it for you if you want:
I'm red ranks on both sides and my killer queues have skyrocketed while my survivor queues are instant.
Ergo, killer's aren't providing a "service", for the past month survivors have been the ones getting insta-queues and allowing killers to get matches.
-
You must be playing on a different planet.
I'm red ranks on both sides and my killer queues have skyrocketed while my survivor queues are instant.
Maybe you should practice killer instead of blaming the game?
-
I play Wraith, Trapper, Plague, and Legion all the time and still manage 4Ks against "toxic swf bullies".
Stop blaming the game and focus on yourself. I know, it hurts to think it might be your own weakness, doesn't it?
-
We get it, you got dead harded a couple times in one match and now you are upset.
Dead Hard was never designed as a specific counter to Nurse. With dedicated servers, Sprint Burst is arguably better to deny line of sight and get behind a large object asap.
Using the 2nd blink, at most distances, nurse can negate dead hard and bait it out if you don't blindly spam m1 the second you blink close to a survivor.
Nurse is easily the killer that should complain about dead hard the least, you literally ignore pallets, windows, and walls if you know how survivors move. The ONLY real problem with dead hard is that you can use it for distance when you make a mistake/get greedy.
-
"I lobby dodge until I get babies so I can pretend I am good at the game instead of getting better by playing against experienced players"

Easily in the Top 5 Killers bracket right now. Nobody wants to play against him because chases heavily favor Deathslinger with little input from survivors. He isn't particular hard to learn either and very fun to play as. When all else fails, just spam ADS and watch survivors dodge into you.
-
I play Freddy when I want to turn my brain off and relax.
Then I log off and go to bed immediately after the match because it makes me sleepy.
Devs did a good job lore-wise I guess
-
I was actually really pumped for this patch. Nothing was more infuriating to me than watching a survivor that doesn't know how to get chased immediately run to the god window and loop it 3 times in hopes of wasting your time.
The boxes that close you in so you have to run towards the doorway the killer will walk through are ridiculous. why not just remove the window and have the doorway by itself at that point?
The hilarious part is, certain variations of Groaning Storehouse's god building actually got stronger now that 2 windows are open + the pallets that can spawn right near them.
They seem to be encouraging stealth play more and more, I played a Blood Lodge that was very safe except for one corner of the map, then I played one that was completely dead everywhere except for the edges and those were just TL walls. Sorry, I like the action in DBD, not holding ctrl when I hear a heartbeat/running around the map waiting to find a survivor to chase.
Survivors getting stuck in hooks and killers getting stuck at pallets needs to be fixed within the next week. In 6 hours of this patch I've seen it several times already as both sides.
-
Most SWF groups are just looking to have fun, most of the time its 1-2 experienced players playing a video game with their buddies that have a lot less experience and feed you pressure for free. Solo survivor is such a frustrating experience most of the time a lot of people don't even bother unless they are a masochist/bored.
Nerf SWF or add in an option to opt out of SWF = kill the game, and Behaviour understands this
It's as simple as that.

I love the current Wraith tons more.
Double Windstorm or Purple Windstorm + All Seeing are insanely fun and strong combos.
Old wraith was great until people discovered you could sit at the old god windows, then trapper and trapping under the hook became everyone's go to killer.
God I hated trappers that wouldn't leave the hook and trap under it, that was no fun trying to edge yourself perfectly to get the disarm prompt over the unhook one.

they are exactly the same but with less the benefits she would have if she used other addons
You don't dodge an entire set of hatchets 95% of the time unless the Huntress is completely brain-dead with dedicated servers. I guarantee every killer that complains about survivor items wants to keep their precious easy mode addon.
Ranged insta-downs from healthy do not belong in this game. Lots of killers whine about Survivor items, most of them except for keys got nerfed into the ground and y'all will still justify keeping Killer items overpowered.
Simple fix, reward huntresses for long range hatchets with an insta down (28/32 meters). Still extremely strong if the huntress practices, not oppressive if the huntress doesn't practice.
You're not competing for Ultra-Rare addons like most other killers and all survivors do so you get 1-2 per bloodweb anyway.
