  • Most of it comes from bad decisions over the passed 3 years and the fact the devs still have not realised where the balance for this games needs to go.

if you get gen rushed every game maybe you should just get better at the game and stop wasting time on one survivor then complain about gen rush

Yeah dude, getting gen rushed? just get better lol.

It’s been 5 minutes and the entire community is crying about Ruin.

Stop being so reliant on perks and stuff like this wouldn’t hurt your heart.

If the devs would actually fix gen times then people wouldn't need to be.

Also tell that to every single survivor that runs meta perks.

  • It's absolutely insane how clearly biased the devs are being, it was easy enough to counter ruin as is. I can't count how many times i've messed up on a couple of ruin skill checks, ran around for about 30 seconds found and cleansed the totem, it's so minimal effort and now to make it require no effort is mind boggling to me. What's the point of a game if there's no challenge?

Most killers' performance is similar, because the average killrate is 70%. Maybe True's killrate is around 80%, that doesn't change much, killers are still doing great, this outcry about ruin is so childish. This change is long overdue.

So because killers kill rate is decent means that they can just beat killers over the head some more? and ruin (pardon the pun) a killers quality of life? It's stressful enough playing at high ranks, this is going to push it to near unplayable.

  • I stopped playing killer since the Spirit nerfs, and now I only play occasionally but due to these recent changes i'm just gonna main survivor.

So, basically. All you have to do is not buy the oass until you max out. Then buy the pass get all the cosmetics and whatever else AND get your money back.

I don't see the predatory angle in this system. If anything, they are using it more as an incentive to keep people playing more so they can make money doing the things they already do.

I really dont get the hate

    Criticism and concern isn't hate.

@Blackadder I wouldn't know. I stopped playing Apex right after the first Battlepass came out, I just remember that you could earn the cost of it back throughout the pass if you leveled the entire thing. It was the argument people made over there as well. So, I was pointing out to him that BHVR isn't the first to do that.

Personally, I play DbD as a side game, so have zero interest in buying their Rift. I won't be playing enough.

I also didn't care for the fact that some Mastery Challenges will require specific Perks, according to their PTB release descriptions of it. Oh, but those Perks will go into the Shrine for the week the challenges release.

I see that as no issue for Vets who have everything unlocked. But for newer players, it's a disguised way to get them to spend their Shards on Perks for the challenges, instead of saving them for cosmetics. Which is a subtle nudge to pushing new players to buying Auric cells for cosmetics, since instead, if they want to advance their little Mastery Challenges then they need to get those Perks off the shrine.

I also doubt I will be doing most of the Archive. I like to play Survivor with my kid when he wants to play, so need to be careful not to advance my Rank since our little two man SWF under the MM changes would preclude us playing together. He's not going to be able to play against mid or high rank Killers. So, I don't play Survivor anymore except on the odd times he wants to mess around with Dad.

That's really wholesome. I hope you both have fun together :)

@starkiller1286 Apex Legends did just that. At least the Battlepasses did back when I played it.

Yeah, then look at what Apex did with that event where they charged ludicrous amounts for cosmetics so that you could unlock a payment option for a cosmetic.

Whether i'm right or wrong about this (and I hope i'm wrong) my concerns are still there, something that may seem harmless at the start can turn into something that really isn't.

I don't see the problem here.

Again, if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it. You get free stuff, and the cosmetics will appear at a later date.

I'm tired of the "don't like it? don't buy it" argument, it's a really cheap way of defending companies implementing things shouldn't be in the game, and if this goes well for them then i wouldn't be surprised if loot boxes became a thing.

Don't get me wrong, i'm all for the devs making money off the game, but i'm sure there's better ways of going about it than this.

Then don't buy it and get the items in the battle pass when they come to the store. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know how a battle pass works right?

How dear the devs are trying to make money with their product!!!!

Yes, how dare they use totally not predatory monetisation to get people buy a pass and grind the hell out of the game to unlock cosmetics that they paid a pass to get. (not to mention the game already costing £15, the mountain of DLC and the cosmetic store. Let's just forget about that shall we?)

  • But it's still a battle pass in a game that costs money. I would like to have hoped the devs were better than this, but I guess not.

Lets use a few context clues from his back story,

"I hope you liked my stories--I enjoyed bringing them to life. Don't worry, I'm not done." He is narcissistic and liked bringing his stories to life this is his "ritual" having people see from his perspective these stories he is bringing to life and he wouldn't be too happy if he couldn't continue this ritual. Beyond this he confirmed wanting to continue this ritual.

"A shiver ran through him. A chilling breeze transformed the bedroom's humidity into an opaque, freezing Fog. A woman shrieked. Dead leaves crunched under his feet. He smiled in anticipation." His first instinct is to smile being magically transported to an unknown place where there is no way to ensure his ritual can continue? He wouldn't have unless he knew where he was, DBD was a game in his universe he actually played it and this is why he smiled, he can keep bringing his stories to life as a killer in this game turned real.

    Slight problem with that theory.

He's from the 90's, so there's no chance he would know about the games existence even if this were true.

  • From what i gather in his lore and addons, he got so invested in his lust for mind control he even tested it on himself and it drove him crazy, my assumption for the reason he looks the way he does is due to his insanity and constant testing on himself. And perhaps the entity is torturing him to keep him insane?

Babylonian isn’t a language but Sumerian and Akkadian are. Theres a blog (old) that’s called “sumerian word of the day” and it gives lot of good info on syntax, grammar, and vocabulary for sumerian. I’m still trying to find the correct syllables to translate properly

hmm, I was wondering what language they used for the Plague. I'm going to look into that.

  • From what I gathered from Benedict's Journals, the Trapper stalks the woods surrounding the campfire, but I imagine the Killers can freely come and go as they please from their respective realms. But much like the exit gates are not allowed to go toward the campfire.

I imagine Kate and Jeff would discuss music together

Some of the “leader” characters like Dwight, Jane and maybe Adam probably spend their time hyping people up or calming some of the more nervous survivors, like Laurie or Claudette, down. Kate and maybe Jeff would come into this as well

Especially empathetic survivors like Claudette or Quinton spend their time tending to the wounded (if you can be wounded at the campfire? You can escape when injured but that isn’t reflected at the end title card) and just generally taking care of people.

The vets like Ash, Tapp and Bill have been around the block before. You can see this in their campfire animations where they’re all calm, if maybe a bit weary. I could see them discussing strategies and survival tactics.

Ash would also try to hit on the ladies, but would end up rejected as often as Ace. Possible rivalry?

You bring up a good point about a language barrier, I think Feng would be the only survivor who wouldn’t definitely speak English. It’s possible she learned some through her online interactions, but that could be another reason for her being a loner aside from her naturally solitary nature. There are other loners though, like Nea or Jake. Maybe they stick together.

I agree mostly with this post but with a few differences however:

Jane seems to be more of an empathetic survivor (her perk quotes lean more towards this)So I imagine she will be caring for the others along with Claudette and Quentin.

Ash and Ace will most definitely have a rivalry, but their happy-go-lucky personalities probably keeps everyone's spirits up, and i'd imagine they'd agree on a lot of things and have some pretty good chemistry.

Jake and Nea probably spend a lot of time together not saying very much, but enjoying each others company.

David probably takes jabs at everyone (especially Dwight) but very likely cares deeply for each new survivor he meets and would protect them as best he could.

I also think Dwight, Tapp, Adam, Bill and Laurie would be coming up with strategies for each trial and helping each survivor really focus on their strengths.

and when the group are feeling down Kate probably sings about family, and hope to distract everyone from the situation they're in.

Meg I think would probably just be reasonably quiet providing a few good points to conversations and making sure everyone is doing alright (especially Dwight but maybe i just like the whole Meg and Dwight ship).

  • My assumption is that the Entity grants survivors higher pain tolerances and some sort of increased durability (which would explain the amount of beatings and chainsaws they can handle) so that they can stay awake on the hook, and also why they don't die from their injuries.

  • I think it mentions in the Lore that the Spirit made an oath with the Entity, promising to kill for it in exchange for the ability to murder her father (which is likely not going to happen)

  • @SadonicShadow said:
The Entity thrives off of violence and sacrifice of the innocent to feed it.

It thrives off the hope of the survivors, the hope they'll one day escape and return home. And once you're out of hope you become a killer. as it seems Benedict baker may have become one.
