Might as well petition again for a "The Mummy" chapter while the forums are still a thing
Hey, all. It's been a minute since I've been on these forums. Just got back on today and saw the post about it closing. Don't really know what to say about that.
Anyway, for years I've been unofficially petitioning BHVR to get an official The Mummy (1999) chapter. And now that Brendan Fraser is officially doing another The Mummy installment (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22408968/?_ssoLoop=1), it makes even more sense to get one.
So, BHVR, please get that license. Give us Rick O'Connell as a Survivor (and Evie ideally, too), Imhotep as the Killer, an ancient Egypt map, 1920s clothing, cool perks. Would be a dream chapter for me.

Omg I didn't even think about him! 😂 I hope he and Rick would have voice lines if they loaded into the same lobby. And if he dies in a match, Rick will be coded to say, "Goodbye, Beni." lol

OOOH the mori could involve the scarabs. Those scenes always stuck with me as a kid.
Quite many people don't even get what that exchange meant. Like people don't get how huge Nile is you can't just easily go over it. They need to still basically use rafts or boats to get the horses over.
Still one of my favorite movies to watch and Brendan Fraser is just one of the better parts of humanity himself.
or I was saying in another topics when Mummy is brought up that if they ever add him as a killer he should start as dried up mummy like in the movies and everytime survivor dies he gets more fleshy and if he mories it should be him sucking all the moisture and flesh off the survivor making them look like the mummies like he did to the americans who found his canopic jars. Still he could have two moris why not.
The newest Mummy movie gave very Evil Dead vibes.
I'm not against putting the Brendan Fraser mummy in DBD.
Yeah! Scarabs or even sucking survivors dry and leaving them a desiccated corpse. Maybe even both? One could be a mini mori?

I've also wondered if he could have some sort of quick map mobility by turning into sand. Do you guys remember how, whenever he got scared of the cat, he'd turn into sand and bolt out of the room? And then when he kidnapped Evie, he was a big sand storm and even his face appeared in the sand as he was fighting Winston's airplane.
There's so much that could be done with Imhotep as a Killer. His power, his mori, his perks, even his skins. I'd love to see a skeletal skin (like the way he looked after the took the eyes and tongue of that first guy), a semi-regenerated version of him (like when the scarab crawled out of his cheek and back in and he ate it. Or even a different semi-regenerated version like when he sucked the guy dry who had the Book of the Dead in the street), and a fully regenerated skin.
If BHVR could get the likenesses and have Brendan Fraser and Arnold Vosloo voice their characters, that would be my favorite chapter they've ever done.
On the fearing the cat note, that could somehow be related to one of Evie's perks. And the art of the perk's emblem could be the cat's hissing face. And now that I'm thinking about it, Evie's perks could likely involve some sort of incantation (since she was the librarian always reading the ancient texts), and Rick's definitely should be the adventurous, gung ho type. I wouldn't mind doing something to earn a way to shoot at a Killer to slow them down a bit lol (And yes, that obviously couldn't be overpowered or used too frequently. Would have to be really well thought out).
Man, I'm gonna miss the forums. It's so much fun fleshing these ideas out with the community.

And now I'm thinking about near the end of the movie when Imhotep resurrected the Pharaoh's soldiers and made them attack Rick. I wonder if Imhotep's power should include resurrected priests/soliders or not. Not sure. This is why it's fun to flesh these ideas out.
And even the map itself being booby trapped. Remember how the walls closed in? That's how Beni got trapped in the room with the treasure.

Might have difficulty with Jennifer due to the obvious influences, so maybe someone like Lotte as the survivor :)
Well it was not Imhotep who resurected the bodyguards but Jonathan reading part of the inscription in the book of life but as he did not finish it he could not command them so Imhotep used that to order them to attack them instead. By that he should not be able to resurect any other than his priest but it just sounds too much like Nemesis zombies so don't really see that as good addition.
Imhotep only did resurect the pharaohs body guards in the second movie and then only because he got their ashes in the jar.
Ahh you're right. I misremembered that. I remember him commanding them, but Jonathan was the one who started the process.
