Please Reconsider The Judgement Overlay
With Judgements newly introduced overlay when targeting survivors from range with her beam, her main selling point has become severely weakened.
If the intention was to do something against her hex-totem builds, I propose that her ability should not damage survivors that work on an active hex. This would be a much better solution as it does not harm all other playstyles .
Sad Judgement players for reference.

agree, this was shaping up to be my favorite power but i can't say this isn't a hit to my excitement for this chapter
i honestly think this killer was fine for the most part in the PTB, only needing minor tweaks such as the basekit killer instinct, but then not only do they seem to hurt such a fun aspect of her playstyle, they also reduced the zealous curve to 0.3s, which i feel may be too small to make any noticeable difference, and reduces the skill expression overall.
BHVR, please do reconsider!!
I would really love to know, whether or not this change to see the beam was made explicitly with hex totems in mind. Because if it was, holy the miss into a kilometer long football gates. It won't do anything to a hex totems build Judgement, you will see the beam in advance yes, but you still have to stop cleansing hex totems, or you get hit
First let's try it out on Tuesday.
My fear is…we try it out, don’t like something, they tweak in 2 years. We already have a lot of killers in line waiting for tweaks.
People were already getting good at dodging it from afar. This massive HUD indicator is unneeded. Like you can already see it through walls, what is with the handholding
I feel like this is also to prevent her from holding three gen. I'd make it that heretics gain bonus speed to cleansing hex totem to make hex builds on her slightly weaker. But if thrill gets nerfed it won't be an issue.
^ This.
It takes a very long time until the developers implement a long time feedback and even longer for rare things like a killer that will proably have a small playerbase (e.g. Houndmaster's Knotted Rope is still unchanged after nearly two years).
The Judgment is already a killer with a high skill floor and high skill ceiling but her snipes are already easy to dodge but with this screen-indicator brainless to dodge since you don't need to look around and listen for the audio cues. Judgment is a 4.4 killer with no map mobility and therefore the pillar is an important tool for map precense/deal with bigger maps but that indicator ruins it. It's just a bad change that nerfs Judgment in an unfair way.
If hex builds are the main reason for this feature, then TotH needs a rework now in order to scrap that feature. TotH is already a disgustingly strong perk and a rework is long overdue. Otherwise, there is no problem with survivors paying similar attention to Judgment snipes like to Huntress', Artist's, or Unknown's snipe.
The devs told the Houndmaster players they will not revisit knotted rope as they feel 2% is sufficient enough in a trial.
I would respectfully disagree.
Isn't knotted rope like a 0.05 second time save..?
I believe 0.02 if I am not mistaken.
Edited. You’re right. My friend corrected me. It’s 0.054
It seems like the official reason for this nerf is because of people who pay no attention to the game with the given example of streamers who look in the chat while working on a generator.

Nerf doctor atp, you can't read chat and skill checks at the same time
BHVR has been balancing for the lowest common denominator for a while so this doesn't surprise me.
3 genning has been pretty much neutered since the regression limit plus gen regression nerfs. There is only gen slowdown now, you can no longer feasibly make chess merchant-ish nonsense happen.
Ahh but don't forget the only ones getting good at dodging it were the ones actually looking at their screen.
If you can snipe cross map with multiple hexes, it might be a bit tricky to fight against.
Then the issue there is HexTotems, or specifically, Thrill of the Hunt, not Judgement herself and thus should not pay for a perks sins.
Gameplay of you getting randomly hit through walls isn't truly a fun one is it? It's like omegaVecna who's already considered very uninteractive. I mean as killer I would love that but as survivor that will be insanely unfun to verse.
Its not random at all, ive been playing as and against her a lot on PTB. Theres
- the visual cue of the aim-beam before the real beam gets fired
- the big beam, being visible through all terrain
- the charge up audio cue
- the directional audio and
- the rhythm. Judgements fire approx every 8 seconds and you know where it will come from because you know her relative position from the previous shot.
It has plenty of indicators, I learned after 1-2 days how to dodge it regularly.
People complained about her being too hard to play yet in casual play she shoul not be hard to play against either. I truly don't want another three gen meta killer. After Merchant, Singu and Knight I think everyone is fed up.
3-genning is dead. The ghost of Chess Merchants past should rest by now. We have gotten anti-3gen mechanics basekit, anti 3-gen perks and also vast nerfs to gen slowdown perks. It is not happening anymore, with MAYBE the one exception being Thrill of the Hunt+ Ruin but as I previously stated, thats a Hex Totem problem, not a killer or gen slowdown problem
Will just post our response to the debate here for clarity.
Last Friday, during the Chorus of Sin Discord Stage a spur of the moment joke was made about Streamers looking at their chat. We understand that this caused frustration and while we never intended for this joke to be the focal point of the Divine Light change, we'd love to give a little more context behind our thought process and ultimately, share an update on the visual indicator we had mentioned..
What we should have, and failed to mention clearly, is that the changes were there to assist with accessibility giving a short visual warning to Survivors that they are being sniped, due to the speed of the Divine Light and its ability to travel through walls. This is not something that will be happening at release however, we will be monitoring the need for it closely before proceeding, in the event that the increased aura reveal range on Divine Light is not enough.
Chorus of Sin releases tomorrow and we will be monitoring the reception, and we hope you enjoy the first Community Chapter!
Could this "Joke" be used more often actually? Like, legit, tell us straight the logic behind any kind of change you do, what waw the thought process behind it, what's the aim. I, for one, legit believed that the reasoning was to counter Hex totems, and in a rather classic move, this change would miss it by a mile. I also wholeheartedly believed, that such change aiming to counter Hex builds on judgement was the worst kind of decision to make, and it had poor logic. But then the actual reason was said, and I was honestly amazed, because I was proven wrong twice, the reason was different AND it was worse.
I know yes satire can be annoying but I am actually dead serious about sharing more in detail what kind of decision making and goal was used for certain changes which are pretty impactful for Killers/Game modes etc etc. I feel like this would greatly improved the feedback from the community to the devs
Thank you Mandy! You always give us hot news! Appreciate it.
Judgment isn't strong up close—it's slow and telegraphed, lacks mobility—and now they’ve nerfed its range? They might as well just delete him from the game entirely. Meanwhile, survivors got a gen-rush perk.
