My god please give Artist a few quality of life changes.

  • Remove that survivors can get rid of birds by jumping into a locker
  • Either make the recharge of the power 1-2 second longer or make it that survivors need 1-2 seconds longer to get rid of the birds. It's unnecessary hard that you only are allowed to use 1 of your 3 birds to swarm survivors in the first place because otherwise the cooldown is so long that the survivors can get rid of them before you can even place the next bird to try to hit them

  • I mean, since Artist is already a very strong Killer, you would want some Nerfs to compensate for her Buffs? Because it is not like she has any trouble with downing Survivors with her Power, if the Artist-player is any good.

Buffing her in those aspects might make her a bit too much.

That crows are removed when you go into a locker is absolute bs, she is only B tier (so not very strong as you say she is), this feature makes her less appealing for players to learn how to play her (very low pick rate) and she has a high skill floor to not have trouble downing the survivors (even that doesn't really help in high MMR) so she does need a buff, many killers have better chase power than her (take less time to down the survivor and much easier to use) and some of them also have mobility unlike her so her getting a small buff shouldn't be an issue, she is not going to go up to A tier after this.

  • Artist is one of those cases where she's a quite strong killer with the right addons. I think it would be great to make the brown addon "Thick Tar" and the green addon "Festering Carrion" basekit, because they feel borderline mandatory for a smooth power usage.

The locker thingy is tricky, because it's one of the few forms of counterplay her power has at long range. I don't really know how well it would work to remove that, but maybe it's worth a try.

An addon pass for her is badly needed too, he has like a few good addons and a lot of unusable garbage.

Why does the concept "Balancing around the top" not apply here? Why are new players now the focus group, despite those changes making her really oppressive once the player learned her?

If I go against an Artist player, they are usually really good, because they are people who play that Killer a lot (so I would agree, it is true that her pickrate is low and only dedicated Mains play her). But it would make those players just stronger while I dont think that newer players would really pick her up, because she would still be quite complicated to play, even with the Buffs.

When it comes to Tier Lists, I see many Content Creators putting her in A-Tier or low A-Tier. So not sure if such a Killer really needs straight up Buffs.

  • Counter point: removing birds by going into lockers is something I like coz of Iron maiden synergy, more people should try it on her.

Nah lockers can be made to backfire, try running iron maiden with her, can make for some free downs.

Making her cooldown quicker would make her too strong. The way to use her power is to use one crow on the initial shot for quicker cool down and/or force survs to stop dispelling crows with mindgames at pallets and windows. If survs are dispelling crows in your face try the iridescent addon that exposes them for a few secs after dispelling.

She is a very strong killer, she just has a high skill ceiling and quite a unique hard to use power.

Would only work once against competent survivors and never again.

She is another addon dependent killer who is decent at closing a single loop but has little to offer against Press W play. Ability to remove her crows by going into lockers doesn't make sense since survivors can already remove them while being chased with almost no penalty. The only reason why some people think she is strong is because they still try to stay in the same loop against her and end up being punished for that, also her low pick rate means less people have opportunity to practice playing against her.

  • I mean, these aren't QoL changes. These are straight buffs.

  • I would change the locker interaction to be forced slow enter so at least they can't use it in chases that easily. Otherwise I don't think she needs much changing maybe add-on overhaul but that is something most killers need.

It is bs and only got worse when they added the extra lockers for Dredge.

Every time I see people arguing that there need to be more lockers for Dredge (which Dredge does need tbf), I think about how it is going to also hurt Artist.

BHVR just needs to make it so if survivors go into lockers with crows, it protects them from snipes but the survivor also needs to stay in the locker for 8 seconds (the duration it would normally take to remove a swarm), otherwise the survivor gets reswarmed when they leave the locker. Just have a vfx of the birds waiting outside the locker for 8 seconds before they disappear to remove any confusion survivors might have about how long they need to wait.

why are we trying to balance killers around "Above Average Tier" BTW Artist has always sat around A to A- on most tierlists. regardless of that if you admit she is Above average, (B, A, S Tier) There's no reason at all to buff her.

Honestly you're making her sound much weaker than she is. First if iron maiden prevents survs using lockers to get rid of birds then you're benefitting.

And I wouldn't say she's particularly addon dependant. Her basekit power shuts down any kind of looping and means she actually benfits from pallets and vaults. She is imo the single best killer for countering shack. Prerunning and shift w only work against her to an extent. The crows are a ranged power so you can still injure survs at distance to counter the shift w. Setting and firing a single crow as opposed to all 3 requires mote finesses but also has a much shorter cooldown meaning you can fire one, swarm a surv. Then be able to set 3 and get the injury before they can repel them.

She's one of the better killers in game, the reason she has a low pickrate is that her power does have a very high skill requirement.making her easier to use would make her far too strong.

You have to dedicate an entire perk slot to secure a feature of your power. Do you think it's a fair trade?

Again, the need to dedicate an entire perk slot just so your power can actually work isn't really the great design.

She is very much addon dependent and on open maps her kit isn't that great because she can't trap survivors since there's plenty of space to dodge the crows or relocate. Unless you are playing against survivors who run a straight line and get hit by her power twice, you don't really have much power since by the time you are ready to ''position'' a new crow the debuff is already gone from survivor. Unknown pretty much suffers from the same issue except his situation is much worse.

She is B tier killer at best. If things allign - A-. There's no reason to offer so many counter to someone who already has so many external dependencies.

So what is defined as an "open" map? Can't say I've ever had trouble hitting survs with crows as artist. The long range crows allow you to work out what gens are being pressured and defend them. Then you either force survivors into tiles for crow hits or zone them at the edge of the map or out in the open and m1 them. Artists has the 4.6m/s movement speed the same as dedicated melee killers so she can m1 players very effectively if you chase well.

Her power is also a good deterrent. Used correctly you can actually herd survivors into tiles that you want to use like shack and main.

Imo the only map type that hurts artist in any way are maps with multiple floors like midwich and rpd. Because she has to go up and down stairs to use crows for scouting. But these maps have a pay off since they have a lot of narrow corridors that make it very easy to hit crows.

As for the locker thing. Really it's a non issue. The only time survs can use lockers safely to remove crows is when you hit them from extreme long distance. Doing it is chase will usually result in you getting a free hit or locker grab. Iron maiden with 30 seconds of exposed just panics people and allows you to benefit from this tactic.
