BHVR wants to keep gen rushing into DbD

Saw this comment on one of a DbD Creator's video and decided to share it here because I totally agree:

"Hyperfocus + Stakeout became an issue since Wesker DLC dropped. In Light's Out survivors can't rush gens because of the absence of perks, so to compensate the lack of gen rush they give survs 20% repair speed.BHVR definitely wants to keep gen rushing into the game so whiny survs can keep escaping without any degree of skill.2v8 is also some sort of gen rush because you have the double of survs, but only need to repair the equivalent of 6 1v4 gens (560 charges)."

  • Pretty good job so far to repost a biased cc. With a little bit of thinking you bit udnerstand that this statement is false beyond comparison.

How a FACT (all caps just to emphasize) is biased?

  • 1: BHVR probably does want to keep games 'fast'. They continue to introduce perks that can synergize to make escapes even faster and haven't touched toolboxes despite hitting so many other things. I suspect, especially ever since the days of killers stalling out the game, they've concluded that the player base enjoys games on the quicker side.

2: That said, bringing in game modes as evidence is a poor argument. The game modes are designed to have different experiences.

3: The idea that this is 'whiny survs' is absurdly wrong. It wasn't survivors who asked for so many other possible things they could do to be nerfed. That was killers. Every strategy survivors have had to be off gens has been nerfed or outright destroyed, generally by killers saying 'but high MMR survivors are too good!'. The current state of gen rush is very much a bed that killer complaints led to.

  • Well if a super biased CC that probably wins almost all their matches said it it must be true!

  • Its not a fact. Thats the issue.

  • It is concerning that people like those are DBD Creators and others get their twisted opinions. BHVR really needs higher Standards for their Creators, they already had some very questionable Fog Whisperers back then and it seems like it did not get better.

    Thanks for repyling. :)
At least you brought arguments in a, let's say, "polite" way. You just presented them instead of just saying "you're wrong" or being ironic. I've created this account to try and have this kind of discussions, but by lurking these forums in the past months proved me that indeed 99% of the people here are just kids who can't have a decent conversation about a subject or entitled players from both sides that will say the most absurd stuff.

For me gen rush is indeed an issue because you can escape by having ZERO skills. Tunneling at least requires you to win a chase and there's no perks that were developed with the purpose of helping killers tunnel. I also think that games could be faster without speeding up gens or turbo tunneling.
You got a point about the only thing viable for survs to do being doing gens (even if you said it with different words). There's such good perks that are kinda useless because nothing for survs is better than doing gens. I don't like speeding up them because it "robs" killers of the time they have to do anything in the match in a completely skill less way. Good survs can escape without using things like Hyperfocus+Stakeout.

Anyway, I give up this forums.
    Logging out.

You kids should learn a thing or two with the guy above.

Aside from killer / surv mains/biased creators we LITERALLY have Creators that tell you to uninstall your life if you play too good or bad either side at the end game chat or speak it while they are streaming.

  • @BruceCampbell

So you say you want a good discussion but you post some random CCs opinion instead of your own words and get mad when people have had enough of that? If you want a discussion than make one, don't just expect others to do it for you.

Edit: new response. I messed that last one up.

Of course it isn't. Why would one angry guy's opinion be any more of a fact than any other complaint on this forum? If you're saying the people in the creator program shouldn't be spewing biased nonesense than I have some bad news for you.

You also said "I agree" before you posted this person's take,l that includes "so whiny survs can keep escaping" so what is your view?

    What?

  • It's a casual mode where the modifier opens up a lot more mistakes on survivor side coz of the limited visibility, so to keep the games short, coz killer can snowball really easily, so it only makes sense survivor can snowball easily too?

It's just a fun short game of frights thats aimed at a more casual playerbase looking for scares.

Like if the mode isn't for you its fine, you can just play normal.

As for Hyperfocus stake out they made it clear some perks are being targetted which fall outside of DR's effects, so it could be among them.

  • Well the devs kinda keep nerfing everything else survivors can do. Sabo and flahslight? Multiple killer powers and perks totally negate it. Chests? Items nerfed into oblivion to the point 9/10 times it's a terrible idea to even open one right in front of you. Boons got gutted with circle being killed and given the new perk they have no intentions of making boons usable anytime soon. Invocations were terrible right from the start.

Which leaves three things a survivor can do in game. Generators, be chased, and unhook someone. You want genrushing to go down then you need to buff side objectives a lot. You know where gen rushing was not a problem? The buffet event because the tables while strong were actually worth doing.

  • It's a game mode that historically has had trouble making survivors want to play it to a sufficient degree, and from what I've seen from queue times this is to some degree STILL the case! Queue times are king, it doesn't matter in the slightest what the siding of this event or that is if BHVR sees a too significant queue time disparity, that shows they better strive to make the understaffed role more appealing by adding stuff to it.

  • I mean, not everyone uses Hyperfocus + Stake Out. So this doesn't make sense. There's no reason for the devs to compensate for those two perks. I could just as easily argue that the speed boost is to compensate for all the time survivors need to spend actually finding gens in this mode as they're tricky to see visually (and killers can kick away the 5% sound progress at the start of the match). But I do realize some people take the word of content creators as gospel since they have no comprehension skills of their own, so this will probably fall on deaf ears.
