Niche perks you DON'T want to see changed!
While the upcoming Chorus of Sin chapter updates were stated to be basically just numbers adjustments, with the community livestream they revealed a much, much larger midchapter later down the line that are going to feature MANY perk updates on both sides. With the midchapter, its more likely we see reworks and additions to perks rather than just numerical buffs, potentially changing the functionality of these perks entirely. (For example, I could easily see them using generator targeting like Turn Back The Clock or houndmaster's search command for Red Herring, assuming it keeps its gimmick.)
While I'm very excited for this, what I want to ask is, what niche perk choices on either side do you NOT want to see changed majorly? Personally, an old perk that doesn't see much usage that I'd like to see kept basically the same is Whispers. While its generally overshadowed by other ways of gaining information on a lot of characters, the perk has a real and functional niche, and especially one with Demogorgon due to its teleport actually moving demo across the map rather than just blinking them to the location, as well as knowing immediately if survivors are near a portal you've exited from. If Whispers was changed, there really wouldn't be a good alternative for what it does for demo besides just running Leprose Lichen every time!
What about you? Are there any very niche survivor perks you swear by as they are/with very minor changes? Or maybe some other highly specific killer and perk interaction you'd be disappointed to see go?

Whispers absolutely horrible perk and that it works well on demo is literally just one killer, the perk is too old for the current state of the game and demo has the add-on that literally do what whispers do but better (the iri), it's better to use slowdown instead of whispers
To list off some of my favorites, the gen trap perks, no one left behind, clean break, chem trap, bada boom, a place for us, autodidact, strength in shadows, bite the bullet, smash hit, exultation, second wind, overzealous, all of these I really hope don’t get reworked as they’re perfect in my eyes although number tweaks or additions could be nice.
Killer it’s definitely a bit harder as I’m less attached to their perks a whole and niche perks are even harder to justify using, but I seriously think anything action speed related and haste perks got done so dirty by diminishing returns and hope they make a comeback.
It’s tough with niche things in online games, like it’s a sad thing to see people belittle and undervalue certain things, but it also sucks when devs buff those things into relevancy either sacrificing the charm it had, or now everyone calls you a meta slave for using stuff you’ve been using well before it was mainstream.
Well they've already nerfed it, but I used Streetwise for my sabo builds. And I don't believe they nerfed it for balance reasons, I think they were too lazy to fix a bug.
I've been enjoying Kindred and Iron Will for so long. If they decide to change either of them, I just hope it's for the better.
I can't see myself playing solo queue without Kindred, and Iron Will feels almost mandatory on certain survivors.
I'd argue that Whispers is a really good perk. I love it. Really useful when it's a 3v1 or 2v1 and survivors are just trying to play for hatch. Also useful when you spawn mid and aren't sure where survivors spawned. It lets you cut your patrols way down because of its range when you understand how it works.
My answer would be Wake Up. Super niche, but I love it when there's a close call at the gate and you have full stacks with everyone alive. Obviously more optimal perks, but I usually have it in my build.
Spies from the Shadows.
Iron Will, Self-Preservation, Blast Mine and Botany Knowledge. These 4 perks better stay as they are, or improved.
you can rework Treacherous Crows from my cold, lifeless body.
I actually love premonition being the only perk that works against every stealth mechanic. It's bad perk but against Jason it's insane. And the theme of the perk isn't that outdated so I hope that they don't ruin it.
I have a soft spot for this perk as well. The only problem with it is that I think the range is perhaps a little bit too far, so it can go off even when the Killer isn't really anywhere near you. So maybe I might make the range slightly shorter (say 24 meters) or add some kind of range indicator to it (maybe it could make a different sound if the Killer is near or far).
But if they were going to change the effect of the perk entirely I'd rather they'd leave it alone.
Autodidact, is it good? Not really.
Is fun to gamble to see how many healing skill checks you get to have the small chance to get the most bonkers healing perk in the game? Omg yes.
I adore current genetic limits. It's niche but real good on some killers.
What's so niche about iron will and botany knowledge, one is just perk to make it harder for killer to hear you and the other is just healing speed, also self-preservation encourages tunneling like if killer has barbecue and chilli even without it it's hard to find you after hooking so it's just better to tunnel the hooked survivor when they are unhooked if you don't know where are other survivors and ratting is actually boring like the only fun aspect of survivor is looping the killer (you can't tell me doing gens is fun).
Unrelenting has some fun cases with pathing or mindgames at big loops with a lunge so I think its a bit underrated but I see why its not used much.
I will cry if they ever touch Kindred (unless they make it partially basekit...)
I think Insidious would be my choice.
It will never be popular with the play to win crowd, but if you want to go for jump scares and like goofing around with meme play styles, this perk is A-Tier. It has a permanent place in my Chucky Build for that reason.
Me too. Premonition is one of that perk that either can see a small buff or just left as is.
