Aurora, the first survivor I'm actually interested in.
Ive never really cared about survivors as they are just skins at the end of the day, never really cared to go in and look at their backstory or want to learn about them etc. Then Aurora, her design is awesome, she's the first survivor I'm actually interested in and am looking forward to learning more about her. 100% going to be my main from now on when she releases.

In before all the gooners whine that we didn't get the young attractive surv off the vote.
But in all seriousness I'm pretty stoked for aurora too, nice to have a surv from a new demographic.
Would not call myself a Gooner, but I also voted for her. Simply because attractive Survivors have a higher possibility to be played. Since the looks are the most important thing for a Survivor.
And honestly, I hope Aurora will also be played. But I would not be surprised if the community voted for a character they dont like afterwards. People already wanted Survivors who are not that attractive, we got Haddie and Taurie for example and nobody plays them. For every Haddie I see there is an army of Sables.
I think a lot of these characters suffer from lack of good skins. I like Haddie but her cosmetics suck, but Zarina wasn't popular and that Plague Doctor skin heavily boosted her. I see it all the time in my matches now, whereas I barely saw her before. Same thing with Jonah. He has no cosmetics and what he has sucks.

Yeah, but this is a self-reinforcing problem: Unpopular Characters dont get new Skins because it brings more money to give popular characters new Skins, which obviously does not help the unpopular characters.
And especially Haddie got a Skin every Patch at some point and it did not really boost her pickrate at all.
This was truely what us Bills were missing.

they did my fellow Canadian so dirty I feel; despite the outfits she got she only had 2 things I liked, her sweater+ purple pants recolour and her flower power. I want outfits but I want something I'd actually wear, too.
Oh I know exactly how bad the internet can be. The fact that people sexualise plague lives in my head rent free. Honestly at this point I'm surprised we don't see threads thirsting after dredge.
But yeah it's a scale thing. Vast majority of them will go for the objectively attractive young characters. I remember ppl getting very aggravated that the old lady won the vote, even claiming it was rigged in the name of inclusion 🤣

To be fair, they did a vote, the attractive lady won with the old lady second and then they did another vote between just those two. This was kinda odd tbh.
Not saying it is rigged, but it is quite obvious that more people did not want the attractive female Survivor and since they could not vote for their actual favourites anymore, they went for the old lady.
But as I said before, as long as she is played, this is fine. If nobody play her, then I will question why people voted for her in the first place.
Yeah, let's not rewrite history here. It wasn't "rigged", but at the same time I don't remember getting a second vote on any other aspect of the chapter's design.
I lost interest in the entire process because that gave me the impression we were subtly being guided towards what BHVR probably would have made themselves, anyway (like mixing in some obviously silly designs like the Big Head one for the Killer alongside the more conventional ones). The illusion of being invited to "help" BHVR build the chapter was broken for me after that.
I just hope I see plenty of Auroras in my lobbies and she's not going to be relegated to Jonah levels of unpopular within a week.
I'm fine with Aurora. Though I did vote for the young blue-haired girl. Guilty.
Only thing I dislike about her is her base outfit. Sure its cool and in theme, but I can tell the color is gonna make it really hard to mix and match with other cosmetics.
I love her design visually, however I really dislike her voice but that could just be the example they gave was really bad stream audio quality. Maybe I'll like it more when I hear a clearer example.
