What other games are you playing?
As an alternative since the cakes weren't really worth collecting anymore until recently?
I've been going through the whole (Acclaim) Turok trilogy, remastered by nightdive. Getting all the achievements on steam as ive played them many times on N64 but now they are on pc with achievements. Currently finnished with 1 and 3 and playing through 2 again to get the last 2 achievements (beat the game on hardest difficulty and find all secrets)
Comments
7 Days to Die - their 3.0 update just dropped dew days ago.
HellDivers 2 - they recently added campaigns and rewards for the entire community such as the supply jeep. Community seems conflicted a lot but I still find the game super fun.
Palworld 1.0 drops July 10th I'll be playing that a lot.
DBD? The Game isn't fun and only getting worse why should I even bother coming back when the devs constantly fail.
Currently the gothic 1 remake and final fantasy XIII because I never played a final fantasy in my live :D
I remember i saw others play final fantasy 7 and stuff ehike groeing up and i couldn't stand turn based games except for pokemon. It wasn't until i found a game called Disciples 2 for like 5$ in some bargain bin for pc games, then i started to enjoy turn based stuff too like heroes of might n magic etc. The only final fantasy i got into was the MMO i think it was 14?
Havent played helldivers 2, only 1. By the time i saw it on pc there was some big problem going on with the game, might have been something to do with the player count. That drove me away from it.
As for 7 days to die i played it quite a bit in its early access, i remember them removing the character customisation. I like using the knife for bleed damage
And palworld i got when it came out, tried it once, and decided to wait for release or something so i guess ill reinstall that too lol
Final Fantasy XIII is not fully turn based. You can attack, use skills or items - attacks need 1 point each, skills different amounts of points. They fill themself up over time so you're kinda turn based, but you could attack anytime in theorie. Same for the enemies. Items are spamable in theorie without any costs I think. Also the people in your group attack automatically but you can choose one skill they do automatically I believe (I'm just in chapter 2 of 13)xD
I only played pokemon alpha saphire and pokemon karmesin, I also purchased ultra moon but didn't really played it yet xD
I also played final fantasy XIV, it's pretty fun, at least in my opinion probably even more than WOW :D
The only pokemon game i ever finnished was Blue. Like gameboy colour Blue. Though ive played atleast half of them. My cartridges for the gameboy colour actualy started to have their batteries die. Odd way of finding out they even had batteries lol, the game would play about 2-5 minutes and then shut itself off. Removing all save data.
The Hell Divers 2 situation might have been the Sony situation with in its first couple months that it was demanding a PSN account to play it which most countries didn't even have. It was eventually reverted but left a sour taste in everyone mouth. I don't see any really flaws with the game.
Unlike DBD perks where most are useless garbage you'll never use. HD2 perks or stratagems are ALL valid some are better than others depending on the enemy faction, mission and battle field so I there's no meta far as I know I'm always seeing players bringing different things.
I can recommend Backpack Battles. Great indie autobattler.
Well, Deltarune Chapter 5 just came out so I marathoned that, but it's not a play-every-night kind of game.
My current timewaster is Mewgenics. It's essentially a synergy builder rogue-like, where even having completed the game more than once and churning my way through the challenge difficulties, I'm still discovering brand new ways to create a build. I don't think there's anything quite like it out there at the moment. It's a bit juvenile in its humour, but that's the entry fee for anything by Ed McMillen.
Between Jason, the queue times, and the cakes I've also mostly cooled on dbd for now (though my cooling is probably a lot of people's normal).
I recently played Mouthwashing. Love it and ordered a shirt and the soundtrack immediately. In my search for a stress-free Animal Crossing dupe I started Cozy Grove and it's exactly what I wanted but with a magic/ghostly twist. Continuing my quest for a different tone I'm also playing Little Kitty Big City, though I'm really disappointed with it. After that I'll go back to horror. I've really been enjoying tiny horror/psychological games that only take a couple hours. Order 13, I Did Not Buy This Tickets, The Cat Lady, and No Means Nothing are on my short list.
I don't currently play any other multis but I just got The Outlast Trials from the Steam Summer Sale so I'll likely give that a go at some point.
I've tried some outlast trials, after completing outlast 1. Certainly one of them "shock factor" games, where it really seems to want to test if you want to see gross stuff all the time. I only played it solo so far as most of the game can be played alone. Its got seasonal fomo rewards that aren't something anyone would go out of their way for lol still unsure if any of it returns.
Tough game to start learning tho
Warframe is my go to and it got an update at the same time we got the Jason update so it works out. I've got a brand new weapon waiting for me in my foundry when I hop on tonight and there's an arcane for me to farm FOR said weapon too...
Started up another playthrough of modded skyrim, also recently gotten the season pass of Assassins Creed Odyssey.
@zonkednb My favorite rogue like is Devil Slayer Raksasi. Its a top down view swordplay style game against japanese demons/monsters/yokai etc. Lots of characters to play as, each with their own playstyles and weapon bonuses. Seems to be getting a sequel but no release date
This is the first game^ has some extra mode expansion that turns all the characters into godmode lol
I'm not a fan of stealth games so I made it about 5 minutes into the original Outlast. Trials is something I'd be likely to play with friends.
I also have Phasmophobia, which I've found horribly boring even with other people, and 7 Days to Die, which I haven't tried yet. That's it for me and multis.
The tough to start learning, yeah, that seems to be a problem nowadays with how long games stick around for and how big they get. I used to be able to hop onto some random shooter and do okay. Nowadays games come with an encyclopedia worth of backinfo. But if I can do it with dbd without any external help from CCs, I can do it again.
Even shooters nowadays feel overcomplicated. I played battlefield 2 for years and loved how simple it was, no weapon customisation or anything to a point where i could tell the guy around the corner was a medic just from the sounds of his gun shots lol. Now in battlefield 6 if you arent crouching around like everyone does against jason in dbd, then everyone in a quarter mile somehow hears your extremely loud footsteps. And even if you are crouch walking they just know ur coming anyway.
Then theres the fact that you need 10 addons to your gun or it can't hit a tree. So i gave up on bf6.
And outlast trials is still very stealth based.
Yeah I figured as much. I played Uncharted 2 and 3s deathmatch for years and loved it for its simplicity. Simple gun types, teams spawning on opposite sides of a fairly even, rectangular map. Proximity chat plus it being the wild west days of online gaming made for crazy levels of toxicity though, which is why i mostly stopped playing multis. I played a little CoD at the time too (MW2, Black Ops1) and though there was plenty of customization, it didn't feel like you had to understand it all to play well. I don't even want to know how overstuffed those games are now.
The event rewards return after roughly half a year through permanent ‘catalogs’, though they are paid.
Sometimes they also rerun ‘routine therapies’, meaning you can essentially replay mini-events.
The shock horror is actually part of its meta narrative. Desensitise, deconstruct taboos, so that the Reagents (the players) do everything Murkoff tells them without question.
Rivals for now; White Fox got a new skin that's making me unable to concentrate.
I play Angela pretending I'm a killer playing 1v6
funny, I avoided FF growing up because I liked turn based; I thought the turn based that FF offered was blasphemy. It wasn't until I got the games on Xbox during covid that I realized I was being silly(9 my beloved)
Deep Rock Galactic.
Rock & Stone, to the bone!
Bought Batman Arkham Knight and Mad Max in the summer sale, I couldn't finish them when I owned a console so I am replaying them on PC. I already finished Arkham Knight and I am now going to the extra DLC missions, both great games being sold for dirt cheap.
Quistis is Bae.
Rock and Stone!
I've been playing some Burglin Gnomes with friends. Outside of that? I've been playing Witchfire, Dead as Disco, and when I feel the urge to sit down and listen to my audiobook while I strain my brain I load up Satisfactory.
Mhh I had to google because Final fantasy XIII is the first FF i'm playing. From her looks she is okay, it's not really my cup of tea that she kinda looks like a secretary tho. I obviously can't say anything to her character xD
If I just google I would say out of the box that terra, lucrecia and aerith are really pretty. My favorite of them would probably be terra, then lucrecia and then aerith :D xD
My bad, I thought you said VIII. Whoops!

Just finnished witcher 1 not too long ago. Took me such a looooooong time lol just starting 2
I just finished FFXII for the first time in about 15 years. This time TZA. I think this was my favorite playthrough.
It's alright, Final Fantasy XIII is really fun for me and the story is also very interesting (although kinda confusing how it starts and the entire things with the fal'cie und l'cie. Don't know if I have to play XII to understand this?). So I will probably play X after the other two games of XIII and then maybe VIII if you recommend it :D
”it’s only getting worse” it’s hit its biggest player count to date
Outlast Trials I play the most. I love it. Definitely more fun playing it with someone rather than alone but I have fun either way. The weekly routines, trial maker, and various maps/trials make it hard for me to feel burned out. Love the lore building the devs do. Fun to watch the devs play after every patch on intensive or psychosurgery.
Diablo 4. Its the game my brother and I play where we just turn brains off and chat. Our seasonal goal is to unlock the free pet before we head back to Outlast Trials.
Phasmophobia. This one I prefer playing with friends. It can get boring when the ghost isn't doing anything.
Just finished up Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. Just started Assassins Creed Mirage, still in the intro area.
Occasionally I hop back into TCM. It amazes me every time the amount of level 0/1 players that are just starting a game the devs abandoned.
Witcher 1 took me a very long time as well.
…i may have sped thru 2 as a result.
By the time I got deep into 3 I was grateful for playing the first 2, but they were definitely tests of my tolerance for older games.
"7 Days to Die" here.
Awesome game, especially if you have a bunch of friends who also play.
Some games I picked up during the Summer Sale & recommend (I am a huge Single player enjoyer):
Currently?
I started the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. Now that part 3 is releasing early next year, I want to fully get into the game. Already got through remake integrate, and am now playing rebirth. Both are absolutely gorgeous games.
Other games I would recommend:
Next to Final Fantasy 7 revelation, I'm also looking forward to:
