Boycott This Event
Guys the only way the devs will probably listen is if we as a community just decide to not queue into the event as a whole. Most people from what Ive seen are NOT happy (myself included) with the current state of things. My solution to this is have everyone swap to normal queue and use the already annoying to get cakes on the normal mode. Survivor is the most boring its been, Killer is unplayable period, in the event.
The event really highlights everything wrong with this game, pallet density, power creep, blatant survivor bias, and lack of overall care. Especially since this was a 10yr hyped up anniversary. Its disappointing. If no one queues in the garbage gamemode the devs will see (presumably) and take it down early or even better fix it.
This is geniunely the only way we can actually fix the current problem.

You have a better idea then? Cause from what ive seen the community is pissed and geniunely hates the event. Unless you like it (which you can thats fine), and want to keep playing but some of us geniunely wouldn't rather play this game at all until the issues are addressed
They wont certainly not take it down and changes to it are unlikely. But yes, if you dont like the event mode, dont play it. This is the same Killers said the last few times when it was killer-sided, so they should take their own advice here.
btw. if you REALLY want to boycott anything, you should not play at all. BHVR does not care about whether you play in the event mode or the regular queue, they care about their player numbers. Not that I say people should boycott the game, but boycotting the gamemode is really half-baked. And overall I think the drama is way to overexaggerated.

If you hate the mode, and don't care about the rewards, don't play.
However, boycotting it does nothing in the grand scale of things. BHVR will not change it this year.
personally i just uninstalled, i will probably come back for august chapter especially if new angel killer is fun(and sending survivors to your own pocket dimension guarantees fun), but current game state is just horrible.
As long as you're playing the game, I doubt BHVR is going to be to bothered whether you play the event or not.
If you actually want BHVR to get the point, uninstall the game and don't reinstall until things improve. Only a drop in player retention is going to show BHVR they need to change.
I definitely support not playing something you're not enjoying. That seems like common sense though.
For me personally, the lack of cake compared to previous years is the worst travesty. Otherwise I don't think it's that bad and will keep playing.

If the community are pissed and genuinely hate the event, why is the player count at an all-time high right now?
I don’t like the event either, but it’s very clear that a vast majority of players either enjoy the event or are at least satisfied enough with it to keep playing. BHVR are going to measure their success based on player count/revenue coming in, not loud voices on forums/Youtube/social media.
I had started to boycott the game for the anniversary cakes alone, as that’s a more pressing issue than the event. You could always queue the normal game, but making the offerings very rare and reducing their drop rate by 500% affects you in either game mode. Saving up 20 million bloodpoints to get 200 cakes when 5 million used to net me those same 200 cakes, it feels very bad. But it seems like BHVR have decided to stick to their guns and give loyal fans the short end of the stick. So I’ve begrudgingly spent my BP so I can play a bit.
If you want to boycott anything, boycott booting up the game at all. Like others have said BHVR loves to just look at numbers like player count and nothing else. If the player count drops far enough on Steam then maybe they’ll consider walking back some things or making some changes for next year. Seems now like they’re too stubborn, too busy, or maybe too lazy to make any changes to how it is now. No one but BHVR themselves know why they haven’t done anything to the event yet. The party pallets rubber band you everywhere, the invisibility modifier portals teleport to random places sometimes which ends chases instantly. And the cake offerings are still not even half of what we used to get. Their silence on all of this is pretty deafening. We can only wait and see if they’ll take our feedback into account, or decide that it’s not bad enough to warrant change. Whether you play the game in the meantime is ultimately your choice.
I wish people would boycott it, then maybe the queues would clear up. At least the event one was instant for a couple days but now it's multiple minutes for killer. For all this supposed discontent, people sure are clogging up the killer queue, and playing against endless tunneling Jasons doesn't appeal to me either. Add the lack of cakes to incentivize dealing with all of these things and I'm on my longest break from this game in years.
i’m going to be so for real. I would rather put my arm in a hydraulic press than play this game mode as killer.

The event sucks out loud, even from a surv perspective for me (I wouldn't play the killer side in this one), and the reduced cake rate really kills any desire for me to play/endure it. I'm still playing some after they "fixed" (lol) the cake rate, but barely.
Which is sad because I am usually fully locked in for the anniversary events, even when they're not great.

I've just been playing Regular Queue and accepted waiting a little longer for matches. The reduced cakes just make me sad.
