Gotta Love the Self Righteous DBD players

I played a match a little bit ago and I was running Inner Strength. So at one point when injured I stepped into a locker to heal. It was the one and only time I got into a locker the whole game. Apparently there was another survivor nearby that I hadn't seen. But shortly after I stepped into the locker I did notice a survivor that fast vaulted the window next to me twice. Of course he drew the killers attention. The moment the killer showed up this survivor started pointing at the locker I was in. I just figured it was one of "those" survivors that play to sabotage the others rather than escape.

But no…… 5 minutes or more after that match ended I got a message from this person. It was a long dissertation. But the short version was they said they get sick and tired of survivors that just want to hide instead of play the game so when they see survivors hiding they intentionally get them killed.

What an arrogant, pompous, self-aggrandizing moron. Apparently not only did this person lack the requisite brain power to realize someone can go into a locker for reasons other than to hide, but they actually view themselves as some sort of DBD police that has the right to sabotage others because they are supposedly breaking DBD law.

I swear this game has way more than it's fair share of self righteous players.

BTW, if you are one of those type of people just know this. No one else thinks you a hero. No one is applauding you for your efforts. Everyone else sees you as sad and pathetic and they would prefer to never have to play with someone like you.

  • Yeah sorry people this might a shock to most of you but avoiding the killer and hiding is part of the play book in this game. People who think they aren't is playing with half a deck.

  • Ha. Plenty of players like that. Imagine being so incensed that you couldn't thake 5 secs to check that the player was running a perk that actually uses lockers.

+1 points for being a fellow inner strength user. Loving that perk atm

That was exactly my thought. But I am going to venture to say it never occurs to that type person to check. With their level of arrogance they would see no reason to do so because they would never consider their initial thought was wrong.

No of course not they know all that happens in the match. They will complain of others not doing gens while looping the killer around the side that gens are running past most of them.

  • This sounds like someone with low hours and low knowledge. All you have to do now is check teammates perks. If I see someone cleansing a dull totem I check it and sure enough it's almost always Inner Strength or Overzealous. Even before that I generally assumed an injured person getting in a locker was Inner, and that others were Built to Last, or that they were countering aura.

  • I mean if someone is on death hook and being chased and there's a gen that's near-ish to being completed and my teammate gets in a locker to Inner Strength I'd be pissed too.

It's contextual and I don't condone trolling, but people play too scared in this game when the killer can only chase one person at a time.

I’m excited to read the hateful thoughts after I post this. This game sucks but there’s still some enjoyment left. For me it’s getting other survivors killed. I can’t count the times I laughed so hard my stomach hurt unhooking right behind the killer to watch someone get hooked again. Object of Obsession, playing on the opposite side of the survivors as the killer is an awesome one too. Then there’s hiding and throwing a pebble at someone while they’re on a generator. The list goes on and on, get creative! The games are a lot faster and way more fun than simply running in a circle until you inevitably get hooked. The. You grab the hatch and call it good. I’m only mentioning this in hopes that I get more players to jump on board with the real fun and ruin it for the whiners.

I had a game as solo q with 2 sables that purposely brought the killer to me twice while working on gens. When they tried a 3rd time, I tried to hide cause jason was in the area I was waiting for him to leave so I could get back on the gen and one of the sables decided to point me out to the killer(mind you they weren't doing anything) and not only did I get hooked, I was not getting helped so I died. I went to watch those 2 Sables and they were working with the killer. They did the same thing to the other solo q person. Obviously those 2 were swfs. It's hard enough to work with others without your own team going against you.

People can be mean but at the same time you're getting mad about something that has already been and gone.

Move on and be happy, making a post about a specific example is showing imo how you're quick to upset. Be tougher and stop carrying the other person's negativity.

They win when you get worked up over something they said and did. Don't fall for the trap.

Hahahahahaha, this makes me laugh. This is the only reason I play. Why would I sit and do generators then run in circles to inevitably die when I could get my teammates killed and grab the hatch in a fraction of the time? It’s actually a lot of fun, you should try it. After a survivor gets hooked be there to unhook them right away and watch them get trained in to the ground to do it again. Run object of obsession and stay on the opposite side of the survivor as the killer. Throw pebbles at someone doing the generator. Hahahaha

Bad survivor confirmed, I bet you're not even close to a competent troll as you claim

I’d also like to note that I am in fact a troll. I love messing with people. I love getting a rise out of people and I definitely get satisfaction out of knowing you’re salty. People in games and in life just don’t matter to me. Just a form of laughter. Nothing more, nothing less.

You sound more like a PoS than a troll doing things for "fun".

When you get bored of it you can start being yourself instead of pretending to be tough.

Who said I was mad or upset? Just because I think someone did something moronic means I'm mad.? I can think someone did something self righteous without being mad or upset. I can call them on it without being mad or upset. I have never understood this idea that saying someone did something moronic or whatever means your mad. It is quite possible to realize someone is an idiot and remain calm even while calling it out. It's amusement. Nothing more. As a matter of fact if you notice I titled this post "Gotta Love" and not "Gotta hate". I did that because I found myself amused at this person and thought perhaps others would too.

you'd be surprised; plenty of people hit the "average mmr" level of 3,000 hours and become exhibit A of Dunning-Krueger syndrome. They hit a certain skill level and choose to stay there.

Yeah true. I know multiple peope with 3k-5k hours who not only can't identify killer perks, but don't even know the names of the killers ("it's the robot guy"). One didn't know what a hatch offering did either, or why I was 4%ing with 4 gens up and only us two left.

I guess I just stopped playing with people like that and forgot they existed. They sure aren't beating the console player reputation.

I'm also a console player and those were also my friend groups until I met people outside of in-game friend requests.

On Playstation you don't have to accept a friend request for someone to send you a message. You can change settings to make it that way, but I have mine open.

Your reply is proof of my point, you're wasting your time and falling for a trap to be in complain mode even if you're taking an amused stance, it's still making you react instead of moving on.

My reply is a little late and hopefully you've put this behind you and not fallen for anyone else's negativity.

  • That's why you never let the nea or ace see you hidin.

  • Despite having visible perks now, sometimes I feel hesitant to pop my Inner Strength heal in LoS of teammates because people jump to conclusions so quickly in this game. I always flash up the lobby screen if I see someone hide in a locker for seemingly no reason these days. 9/10 times they've got a plan beyond AFKing for hatch.

Think what you will. You're still misinterpreting. I enjoy talking about things like this. That doesn't mean I am mad or anything else.
