Wraith Rework

Wraith is one of my most favourite killers but for some reason devs won’t rework him at all, while you chase a survivor you get 2 gens pop up, I think adding traps to him like haunted trees like in some Halloween movies that can jumpscare survivors and give them effects like slowness or darkness while also notifying the killer might be a good rework, and as well add a map that looks like the swampy ones we have but different.

Comments

  • I think Wraith is in a good spot at the middle of the tier list, if you're good with him you can hold your own against good teams pretty well.

  • Wraith at most needs some minor changes or add-ons changed, there is zero reason for him to get a rework

  • I think he could get a rework, and I want to see Hag and trapper get their rework too, back in the day I really loved playing with or against them but nowadays I see only Jason

im going to be honest he could use some things added to him and maybe some minor buffs, however a complete rework is not needed, Wraith is the killer that usally helps beginners ease into the game, i think changing Wraith completely would ruin it for newer players.

  • Naw we have enough over-complicated kits right now. Wraith is a great simple killer with solid add-ons. He's perfectly fine.

  • It makes zero sense to give Wraith an additional power. If you want him as a stronger killer, you could just revert the nerf to his speed boost after uncloaking and make even more of Windstorm, Swift Hunt and Shadow Dance basekit.

But right now he is a decent average killer. You need to be good at M1 and know his playstyle and of course you dont win against the rare good survivors.

I know what im talking about, i have him P100, he is my most played killer and i have an over 80% killrate with him.

  • but why? There is nothing about him that calls for him to get a completely overhauled power; he is not problematic to play against and he is easy to pick up and learn while still being strong enough to get good results.

  • All killer mains are going to want a rework for their favorite killer after watching Jason do everything better than their main. Teleports better than Springtrap and Dredge. Better projectile than Huntress. Better at defending totems than everyone. Also better at gathering information than everyone. Jason embodies power creep.

  • The only real change I would make for Wraith would be to give him a better Mori, since the couple of whacks to the back is pretty boring.

his mori is very sad in comparison lol

  • Wraith is there to be the introduction killer, I know people say that's trapper but wraith is the one that actually lets you get experience getting into chases quickly, understanding how speed effects lunges and the importance of denying windows and pallets.

Reworking him is not a good idea.

Agree - I play Wraith quite a bit and I think he’s fine.

    ^ this.

Wraith is a very simple Killer, it is very easy to pick him up. People will know how to play him in their first game (obviously they wont know about his lunge or that you can bodyblock windows with him or stuff like that, but still). But he is simple, easy and therefore obviously not that strong (that other Killers (Ghoul cough) are very easy for being way stronger is the design flaw here…).

I think Wraith is perfect design, an easy Killer which is in the middle of basically every Tier List. And if someone wants to start playing Killer, Wraith would be the obvious choice as their starting point. I think it would be very bad if they would rework him and give him some overcomplicated power.

Ofcourse you only see Jason, dude's been out for only 1 week. Any decent killer being released will be the vast majority you see for at least 4 weeks, especially with anniversary killers.

As for what Wraith needs, his biggest weakness that made him a C tier killer back in the day, was Lightburn. That's removed. He is a solid B tier killer with A tier potential depending on skill, maps and perks.

The only thing I would say Wraith needs, is the ability to override a survivor vault while he is cloaked. Right now, a survivor can vault a pallet or window effectively infinitely while he is cloaked with Wraith being forced to either mindgame the survivor (which can take a LOT of time) or fully uncloak (which, without cloak/uncloak addons isnt a consistently viable strategy).

So, either give Wraith, while cloaked, the ability to override window vaults OR the ability to break pallets before a survivor can vault it again. That's legit all he needs these days.

  • If there was honesty in this game about the strength and viability of all killers then it would be easy to accept that Wraith is perfectly fine where he is. Once you accept that the hierarchy of killers that the devs refuse to admit publicly actually exists then you’ll realise that he’s great as an introductory killer and great as a simple killer you can have fun with from time to time.

I play him when I want to play a decent killer without much technical ability required. It’s nice getting a good window block and fun getting stealth hits. But in playing him, I fully except that he’s M1 and that against good players it’s going to be difficult to win the match.
