From a lore perspective, I would note that Victor is technically not real - he had died in the real world, and the Entity gifted a living version of him to Charlotte when it pulled her into the Fog.
-
The only real change I would make for Wraith would be to give him a better Mori, since the couple of whacks to the back is pretty boring.
-
I don't know how anyone could reach the conclusion that Taurie is actually secretly selfless. Her Perks are themed around self-sacrifice, yes, but that's just because of the cultist thing. (Or as you put it, the Self-Flagellation theme.)
She is still very loyal to the Entity and is clinging to the faint hope that this is all just a test.
-
I don't believe Moris count as a sacrifice; they're more of a reward for the Killers for their service. That's why you can only Mori the last Survivor in a Trial, or if you bring a special offering or the right Perks.
-
Ah, I see. Obviously I was missing the cultural context.
-
Yeah, it’s unfortunate as a Survivor to get in a lobby with one of these people, as they’re just going to end up dead in two minutes because they only care about teabagging and flashlight blinds.

Its a fascinating idea in the context of Oni's character. Adds so much more depth and irony to his past.
Something I am curious about though is the origin of the Yamaoka curse. Seemed like the curse originated with Oni, but the real Renjiro was described as violent and cruel. If the curse DID exist before, then it would seem its not be tied to the bloodline itself and only the name. More I think about it, the more the very nature of the curse as a whole comes into question to me personally. That's certainly possible. Alternatively, perhaps the act of taking on a family name that didn't belong to Hachi is what created the curse. That strikes me as the sort of thing that would have supernatural repercussions in feudal Japan.

I play her. I just unlocked her “You’ve Got Guts” achievement the other day.

One of the advantages of the new system, I think, is that they can deliver Tomes that AREN'T necessarily connected to the Rift. Trapper, for instance, didn't have a cosmetics or banners in this Rift, but he got a story about how Evan came to the Fog and ultimately chose to embrace being the Trapper after symbolically killing his abusive father.
So if we want a new Hag story, I think we just need to put some pressure on BHVR.
-
Oh, my apologies. I’ve seen them called the twins so often that I forget they’re just regular siblings.
-
That’s very difficult to answer, because BHVR tends to leave certain details deliberately vague. I mean, just look at the Hag’s backstory. Can you tell, definitely, what era she lived in? She seems to have gone to a relatively modern school, but beyond that, the time and place she lived in is indistinguishable.
Also, it’s not clear if the Entity is pulling all of the non-licensed Survivors and Killers from the same universe/timeline. To be clear, of them are obviously from the same Earth - Renato and Thalita are SIBLINGS, Mikaela and Sable were friends pre-Fog, Elodie and Felix had a childhood connection, Taurie tried to kill Haddie’s brother, Jane’s recent Tome references Dwight and Zarina, etc. But a lot of the Survivors and Killers have no connection to each other. -

- Legion consists of 4 members, with only Frank's age being described (19). Susie has cosmetics that refer to her as a sophmore, but that's about it.
- You could apply this to MANY of the Survivors, including some of the originals. Ace, David, their OWN Survivor Jeff, Jonah, and Haddie would all realistically beat any of the Legion in a one on one fight (provided they were disarmed, the knife CONSIDERABLY increases the Legion's threat level).
Now, for an actual answer. Every Killer has their strength altered by the Entity to FAR beyond superhuman levels. That is the reason someone like the Legion is able to kick pallets apart, bring down professional fighters, kick down walls, pick up and carry around a large and heavyset man like Jeff with one arm, and sling them onto a hook suspended several feet above the ground with the same level of ease as the Oni, an 8+ foot tall massive hulk of pure muscle.
in addition to the Killers having superhuman strength, the Entity won’t allow the Survivors to fight back against the Killers except with the means it provides them - flashlights, pallets, etc.
I mean, why do you think the Survivors never try to use The Trickster’s knives or The Huntress’ hatchets against those Killers? The answer is that they can’t. You’re in the Entity’s realm and are forced to play by its rules.

Having played a fair bit of Haunted by Daylight, I can safely say this event is HIDEOUSLY unbalanced. There’s barely any reason for Killers to interact with the Void except to complete challenges, which are teeth-gratingly hard due to Haunts being completely useless and Survivors being able to exit the Void with tremendous ease.
I see lots of complaining about camping and tunneling, but realistically that’s the only way for Killers to get any Sacrifices at all.

It’s an interesting theory, but it doesn’t really hold up to scrutiny. Setting aside the fact that The Unknown’s mimicry of humans is extremely unconvincing (which is deliberate), why is The Unknown posing as some random girl’s roommate? Remember, The Unknown is not willingly working for The Entity, so there is no reason for it to target Mikaela.
-
I think when she was initially cursed, there was a clear separation between Burong and the Krasue, but as time went on and Burong gave in to the hunger more and more, the distinction between the two began to disappear.
Now that they are in the Fog, the distinction between the two is now fully gone. Maybe there’s a little piece of that opera singer screaming on the inside, but for all intents and purposes, the two are now working in concert to satisfy their endless hunger.

How do you see his first Tome as a character assassination?
-
Earthly Respite seems like a good idea for a Perk.
Spirit of the Grove is not bad, though I might suggest that you have to either cleanse or bless the Totem and that allows you to see the Killer’s aura for X seconds.
Protective Talisman is OK.
I’ve thought about sound-based Killers in the past, and I think the Agony power is interesting. I’d like to see a way to counter the power other than healing, though.Re: Killer Perk, Harbinger’s Omen would be hideously broken, so it’s a definite no-go.
Wail of Sorrow would probably need a rework as it basically encourages slugging, which the devs are trying to prevent. -
That’s really hard to say. A Big Daddy Killer would probably be a good fit, but Bioshock is Ken Levine’s baby and he’s likely to pull the “how dare you compromise my artistic integrity” card.
-
The Entity only allows Survivors to fight back using certain methods - pallets, flashlights, locker stuns, etc. Were the Survivors to do more than that, the Entity would likely intervene. I mean, do you think Chris "Boulder Punch" Redfield could not tear Ghostface in half if he was allowed to do so? It’s just a dude with a knife.
Also, there are some Killers that just would not work on. How are you going to bite The Dredge?
