Prioritizing game bugs would be better than this

Screenshot 2025-06-02 172013.png

A patch to fix skins not in the game yet when we have how many killers currently bugged? Constant performance issues? I can't even play against Dracula or Venca without my game dropping frames every time they use their power. Huntress' hatchets disappear. Artist is nearly unplayable. Twins unplayable. Like we get yall held off on content for 3 weeks for "quality of life changes" but all the bugs are being overlooked constantly. It's getting really frustrating with every patch it's "ok what is now bugged? what bugs have come back?" These are the quality of life updates I want.

  • This would be nice to start with instead of cosmetics and stuff, making the game stable is more of a priority than a another Feng weekly skin

  • DBD coding go burrrrrrrrrr since 2016. 😂

  • When I saw this I immediately thought of Robocop booting up! 🤣

  • Just a reminder that not all bugs are created equal.

Some are easy to fix and take a few seconds, some are hard to fix and can take hours or even days.

For some the causes are pretty obvious, others the cause is very subtle and hard to spot.

Some fixes can be applied with confidence there will be no knock on effects, others can have quite substantial effects on numerous interactions.

Some can be really easy to reproduce almost every single time, others can work correctly 1000 times and only fail once.

We have nearly 40 different killer powers with 20 add-ons a piece, interacting with 120ish perks for both killers and survivors each, on numerous configurations of maps and spawns, and an infinite number of input combinations and scenarios from the 5 players. Things like this take millions of lines of code, and the number of possible states the game can be in to potential cause issues is impossible to calculate.

I'm not implying the state of bugs in DBD is great... but its hardly surprising given the amount of interactions and content in this game. Complaining about which bugs get fixed over others is a little naive to say the least.

It is kinda pointless to report bugs. Whenever I did it, they remain under review and nothing changed until now. I did it multiple times and it always ended that way. The reports weren‘t closed, acknowledged or fixed. There were also no questions on how to better discribe the bug. They just got ignored everytime.

Unfortunately, bugs can be addressed and return in later patches. Reporting is essential for us to be able to track them. Videos and logs still remain the best way to communicate these bugs, and here on the Forums is the best way for us to keep of them. I understand your frustration with ongoing issues and respect your decision whether or not you report them here. However, without logs, videos, and bug reports, there isn't much I can do.

My problem mainly is that they always get ignored whenever I report them. Other reports in the section get closed, confirmed as not a bug, some attention from community managers, listed as fix upcoming or need more info, but with my reports I never get any type of feedback. They are just left alone there. I know you aren‘t the person in charge, but it feels bad to never get any type of feedback that others get.

    SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

    • Ghost Face can‘t pick anyone up, is unable to break pallets and couldn‘t get stunned by pallets
    • One survivor can‘t move for the rest of the match and is slugged on the ground without anyone being able to heal them
    • Game doesn‘t end after the endgame collapse

    PLATFORM: Ps5 (probably all)

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

    • One in my team safed another survivor by a pallet or with a flashlight on the game map, after which we ended up in this situation

    SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

    1. She isn‘t fully invisible for 1.2 seconds instead around 1 second. (Reikos watch can‘t reach 1.5 seconds of full invisibility because of the issue)
    2. Everything becomes darker to extremely dark while demanifested.
    3. You can see particles when Sadako is invisible at her location.
    4. You see a grey/black circle under her position while she is invisible.

    PLATFORM: Ps5 (probably all)

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED

    3. 4. Happens only at closer range, I think.

    PLAYER LOGS:

    • Player logs are required from PC players only.

Can a dev please bring it to the team. The first bug exists since 1year or longer (probably since her rework,). The others I found randomly while playing.

Please Mandy or ThatRyanB can you push to get some of these things fixed.

It’s still under review for months without any type of change while affecting sadako very much in a negative way.

    SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE:

    • On his last leap he only pulls himself towards the thing he attached to, but he isn‘t sliding like at all. I don‘t know whether this a bug or intended.
    • When I mark multiple survivors only the last mark stays active and all the others just disappear.

    PLATFORM: Ps5

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED:

    • The first issue happens when you use your last token. When not enraged at the second leap and when enraged on the third leap.

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE and how it occurred:

    • You demanifest as Onryo and she is not invisible for 1.2 seconds like she is supposed to be. → It is below 1 second.
    • Connected issue to the first one: Reikos watch can’t reach 1.5 seconds of invisibility (like it is supposed to), because the base invisibility is too short. → Please make reikos watch 50% until you fix the bug.

Just another reminder that the whole game's coding needs to be addressed.

We don't need 20 add ons per killer when about 5 are used most often on any given killer. Plus how some of these add ons can be affected by perks.

We don't need 3 different tiers for every single perk. Removing tiers 1 and 2 can lessen the load in the coding dramatically.

Removing the different variations of maps I think is a step in improving this. Yeah it's just maps but taking anything out of the coding can help.

I 100% understand some bugs can be found and fixed easier than others. However, cosmetics do not effect game play (for the most part, Were-Elk Skin, Tomie skin i'm looking at you). I really think these things should be put on the back burner as fixes and focus on bugs that are effecting gameplay. Yeah i get people are spending money on these cosmetics but unless they are limited time, why are we working on fixes for these?

There was bugs pointed out in the PTB that did not get fixed in the PTB window. More so I'm talking about the new 2 person end game mori scenario that was not working as intended. While I am hoping they are fixing and addressing this bug prior to release, it's just things like this I wish wouldn't become bugged to begin with, or tested prior to the PUBLIC test build so the public can give proper feedback. Or noted that it is currently not working as intended in the patch notes.

Every patch has become a "hmmm i wonder what bugs are in the game this time" rather than "yay new content!"

  • This fix was probably nothing to do with code but maybe a particular material/texture file needed replacing or was accidentally missing - something that can probably be patched in quickly because it can bypass Microsoft and Sony's testing phase? I dunno, just guessing.

And/or a fix that can be done by the art team and not require an actual gameplay programmer or engine programmer to get involved.

Could this be looked at too please? Despite the title, it's not platform specific as I've had it happen on Steam, seen others on Steam experience it, and even PS5 players. It's something to do with the controller handling. I was watching a streamer two nights ago who experienced this bug.

    Hi,

Since the Wesker release, I've had an issue where most of the time after being hit by Wesker's bound attack, I will lose control of my camera.

The camera will feel as though it is fighting against the user input to look in any direction other than straight ahead. This makes it really difficult to get away as your view is constantly swaying in multiple directions.

This doesn't always happen. I've had this across different controllers and have no issues whatsoever with these controllers other than when being hit by Wesker's bound.

I'm not aware of doing anything differently from when I get affected vs not. My camera sensitivity is 80%.

I've seen other mentions of this by other controller users (both xbox and playstation) but those have been kinda vague.

Here is a video of it happening.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj5FHk5QSJY

Notice my camera starts swaying.. almost like I'm drawing a figure of 8, even while Wesker is still in the motion of slamming me towards a wall.

Is this something you're aware of?
