Pallets, just hear me out

Am I the only one that feels like as soon as you get into a chase, with maybe like two or three gens, theirs no more pallets, except for maybe like two, since killers always talk about their should be more to do for survivors, how about this, why not make it to where survivors can pick up pallets, that the killer haven't broken without a perk, I can almost guarantee survivors will waste their time picking up pallets

  • There's A LOT of pallets on the map. And I mean A LOT A LOT.

There is a perk that allows you to restore pallets, it is called: Any Means Necessary

Depends on rng, I've had maps where they spawned dead zones where there isn't a pallet in sight and others where they may have 2 or 3 good ones within running distance. And AMN only works if killers don't destroy them which most do

  • ....OP explicitly said without a perk, meaning they are fully aware of Any Means.

And there aren't nearly as many pallets on most maps as a number of people make it out to be. - If you get a pallet thrown in your face every ten seconds tops that leads exactly to what OP said: by the time about two gens are done - at normal speed - almost the entire map is a dead zone. The whole "throw everything" only works if the others are extremely gen efficient. Otherwise it's a pretty much guaranteed snowball at one or two gens (except maybe if you over commit to someone who's also extremely good without any pallets).

That being said: I'm somewhat confused about what OP wants to achieve? Like, what's the actual benefit? It's the same category as pre-cleansing totems.

Same goes for hooks for the killer, that's all in the game.

  • This would not really do anything. There is Any Means Necessary, but it is bad. And it would still be bad if you would reduce the Cooldown.

If picking up Pallets would be a base ability, it would still not matter. Any Pallet which is at least somewhat good will be kicked. The only Pallets which might not be kicked are those which are completely useless and it would not matter if those are picked up or not.

IMO the goal overall would be - WAY more Pallets, WAY less safe ones, WAY more unsafe ones. And removal of Bloodlust of course. This would make the game more enjoyable on both sides since unsafe Pallets can be played by both Killer and Survivor and since Bloodlust is removed, they would actually be fair and the better player wins. More unsafe Pallets in favor of less safe ones would also mean that Killers would not need to kick that many Pallets in a chase, which again, would mean that they would still be able to get hits in, if they outplay the Survivor.

Also, this would reward good Survivor gameplay - a bad Survivor will probably not last that long on an unsafe Pallet, but a good one will last longer. Furthermore, more unsafe Pallets and less safe ones means that the Survivors will not run out of Pallets quickly. So even if a bad Survivor is throwing Pallets immediatly, they wont use up all the ressources.

But, this would only work if they actually remove Bloodlust and given the fact, that they buffed it quite recently, not gonna happen that the gameplay will be changed like that.

(And I expect a lot of Killer Mains now coming at me because I wrote "more Pallets" and "Bloodlust removed", since this is the only thing they will read..)

Sure. 8 pallets/map as you can get on shelter woods is "a lot lot". Some maps are notoriously bad for very low number of pallets. Don't pretend like every map is the game.

Anyway survivors wasting more time picking pallets that killer deemed not good enough to break sounds more like noob-trap then a feature

Good news: everyone is about to know what is happening at all times globally on the map, so they're all about to become extremely gen efficient.

Or a pallet that I successfully mind gamed and didn't have time to break. Then someone else with Windows knows it's safe and bolts there every time until I'm forced to break it.

The point is they'll still be pallets to use close to end game, I don't expect it to be about five or six pallets at end game, but I feel like that's when it should only be two or three left, not with 3 gens to go

Killers get plenty of hooks, there's not a time where I wiggled off, because their wasn't a hook for the killer to hook me on, only way I wiggled off is because, the killer might have missed seeing a hook and I wiggled off and that was still rare

Lol, I like what you wrote at the end, killers do get awfully mad if you say anything that might help survivors out more, but you made a valid point

Killers get plenty of hooks, there's never been a time where I didn't get hooked, because a killer didn't make it to one, because they're wasn't enough near by, only time I've ever wiggled off, is because the killer just missed a hook that he was close to and I wiggled off, just by some hairs and that still was rare
