Whats the point of thanatophobia

idk its worthless it just speeds up repairs and thats it lol

  • To slow down action speed.

  • Pretty sure it slows the repair speed, not speeds it up.

Used it . 5 gens done in 9min . Explain that lol

  • Highly efficient survivors? Were there toolkits involved? BNPs? Prove Thyself? Why would you blame an unrelated perk for that?

  • 5 gens can easily be done in LESS than 9 minutes in an average game if map pressure isn't maintained, even with the full extent of Thanataphobia's top tier in play, which only reduces action speed by 14% I believe.

To get that 14% you would have to have all survivors in an injured or hooked state. You don't really list the specifics of your game so I can't really explain how they got the gens done quickly, other than you may have been facing a coordinated team, didn't have enough people injured, or weren't patrolling gens enough.

I'm not trying to be mean in pointing these things out, but Thanataphobia does not increase gen repair speed or there would already be a massive uproar about it, since its a useful perk when paired with other powers/addons/perks, and I suspect a bug would have been reported by now.

  • Thanataphobia is more useful on some killers than others. It's god tier on Plague and Legion. It's ok on trapper with the right addons. Anyone who can deal out hits like crazy

  • @newavitar OP is somehow blaming a gen rush on Thanatophobia without context.

  • It's very good for killers with add-on or powers that already slows down gen repairs. Like Freddy.

  • Using the perk and getting use of the perk are different things.

Stop using it if you can't make apply pressure and have multiple survivors injured.

No he asked what the point was. Stop being petty.

  • tbh thanatophobia is overrated, the speed action is barely noticeable and survivors can just heal each other for faster healing and to reduce the already weak penalty

  • His later reply clarified that he thinks it's responsible for a bunch of gens being completed quickly.

I'm not trying to be petty, I'm just very confused!

That’s the point: you can get survivors wasting significant amounts of time by healing themselves and each if they’re successfully tricked into feeling that Thana is a threat.

oh i see, guess i was foolish for wasting my time healing cuz i thought it was a threat xd

  • Thana could use a buff..they should have buffed it when they last tested it, pressure perks like thana and pop goes the weasel are genius for rewarding high tier gameplay without benefitting campers and they should really cherish these

It depends on the killer. I mean, look at Plague. The mindset of 'don't cleanse' makes Thana amazing for her.

  • The point is that only plague and legion can get the best mileage out of it sadly.

  • I always thought the perk existed so killers could try it a few times then say "wow! this perk is absolute garbage. Is that the devs trolling killers with a useless perk for a laugh?", and then proceed to never use it again avoiding it like it's cancer in the Blood web.

  • Why? 16% slow is a pretty big number, especially paired with other match slowing perks. Granted, very few killers can make use of it effectively, so in most cases, it is trash. But then, lots of perks work better on some over others.

  • It's good on killers who can get easy hits like Plague, Legion, Hag, and Trapper.

  • Made a difference in my game

  • To use it while playing as Plague so people basically have to work through Dying Light if they want to never cleanse πŸ˜„

  • Thana is only of value when you have 3 or 4 injured. With only 1 or 2 it's not going to make much of a difference.

Combine Thana and Sloppy to put survivors in a catch 22. They either stay injured and eat the Thana penalty, or heal and waste a lot of time.

Thana is also very effective on Plague and Legion because of the propensity for survivors to just play injured the entire game against these killers. It's also a good pick if you use Bloody Coil on Trapper, or ropes/chains on Freddy.

When the hell did i say Op . Open your ######### eyes ya weiner

  • it's pretty worthless, only adds around 7 seconds per gen

if the survivors are efficient, the first 3 gens will go in 87 seconds (if all 4 are injured mind you)

and then another 45~ for the other two

it barely adds over 15 seconds onto actual gametime if all 4 survivors remain injured

  • Just so that everyone is clear on what thanataphobia does:

To put that into numbers, a generator would take a maximum of 95 seconds (instead of 80 seconds) if all survivors were under the effects of Thanatophobia.
