Killer MMR is exponentially higher than surv

I have like 60 hours on killer and got pretty good at it when i still played but i main solo surv and my surv mmr is really low and i get a low of players with only 100 hours (I have 450) but when i play killer it is without fail 1k hour swfs that play with good items and perks. i want to reset my killer mmr or lower it so i can play for fun again but its so tedious to throw games over and over and then still feel like my mmr hasnt changed

  • It's not even about MMR, just that you can't match with 4 man SWFs as a solo survivor

And matchmaking is just bad, reducing MMR wouldn't even help you

  • but what can i do because both roles are almost unplayable at this point and for completely opposite reasons i do only solo queue and i understand that brings on its own problems but this ######### is ridiculous.

  • If you commit to letting all survivors go over many many matches, your killer mmr will drop below the soft cap. Then you can play easier matches. But if you start killing again your mmr will go higher and be back where you started.

So it comes down to this. Do you enjoy the game when all survivors escape or when all survivors die? Because even with a 2k your mmr can go up.

There really is nothing you can do, getting 3 friends or being lord sweatington with killer, that's the only way

It feels hopeless at first but they aren't as invulnerable as it looks, eventually you should be able to win fair amount of times

You really need to get good perks though and it'll take a lot of grind

  • doesnt feel gratifying at all to play 3-4 games a day on my days off work and then lose 75% of the time if i had a better game to play i wouldnt be playing this

  • The only way to reduce your killer MMR is to play a killer you don't usually play. Unplayed killers will have low MMR.

  • Ill take your word for it but iv seen a lot of conflicting opinions about killers having shared mmr and survivors do not

Technically even a 1k can increase your MMR.

If 3 of the Survivors have really low MMR, but the one person you killed had really high MMR. I believe that can outweigh the other 3 (assuming I understood the dev stream a while back)

That's not true. A lot changed since that dev stream, and now even if the MMR of survivors affect how much MMR he gains or loses, the killer only gain MMR if he does a 3K or more, loses MMR if he does a 1K or less, and don't lose or gain if he does a 2K.

Also, the MMR gain is capped at +20 per match: https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Skill-Based_Matchmaking_Rating?so=search

If you really are playing just for fun, why it matters to you against who are you playing? Just play. You should not care if you win or lose either, if you are in the match just for fun.

Well would you look at that lol

I guess its slightly better than how it worked before? Still not great

  • how do u equate playing for fun with not caring if u win that sounds kind of stupid imo im not trying to play this game to lose every game how is that fun

Because someone who really plays the game just for the "fun" of it won't care about losing or the MMR he has. If your "fun" is winning, then you should get good at the game so you don't lose instead of trying to artificially lower your MMR.

  • Let's please keep the discussion civil and constructive, thank you.

  • Same. After 50 hours on killer I get surivors who know to prerun and tile layouts.

4.5k on survivor and I get tm that leave hook to 2nd stage, can't last in chase by the time I've unhooked, ect.

  • That's escape based matchmaking for you. If you play soloQ, you die more often than you escape, therefore your survivor MMR will always gravitate to the lower level, while as a killer, having one bad survivor in the enemy team practically gifts you a win if you care to take him out of the game early, due to how the game works.
