Question about dedicated servers
So they finally did it, and almost the entire community is happy about it! now my concern is how many servers and where would be located, because some places basically still suffer ping issues due to locating servers in just the normal areas ( NA, SA, EUW, EU EN, or EU in genera) and when it comes to Asia or Australia, Aussies hardly have their own and have to join either NA or EU, and Asia (( talking about the continent as a whole not just asian countries like KR, CH, JP etc )) and this will cause issue for example for middle eastern countries.
what do you guys think?
EDIT: Also will that mean they will be using VAC as well for servers? or an increase in security measures to prevent, and capture hackers?

Paid servers wouldn't do well with consoles.
Buy the game, pay the subscription fee to play online and then pay the monthly dedicated servers fee to play a 20 euros game?
That's gross.
And you're delusional if you think the game is gonna get a monthly fee right out of nowhere. I'm not even sure if that'd not make us eligible for refunds since this is not the payment method we signed up for.
You have tons of games out there that are objectively better than DBD with dedicated servers and all, most of the new MMORPGs cannot even think about releasing with paid subscription models anymore and yet there's people here that think a game like DBD would have a subscription model, ROFL.
MOST consumers do not want to put up with a subscription model and DBD certainly is not worth a subscription fee, you're delusional to think otherwise.
Why do they implement them now? Maybe because there were always at least 3 threads asking for dedicated servers.
Our community asked for it. On countless occasions.
Devs finally gave in. But haven't specified any details.
Implementing a monthly cost isn't what we signed up for, when we bought the game. But it's what we've asked for, by asking the devs to spend a ton of money to change an existing game.
Do you think the devs spend so much time and money, and even risk their whole business, just because they want to gift something to the community?
Like... really?
At least someone who understands me.
I really doubt they will change their business model just one year after they introduced us with the recent one. They are earning money through new sales, dlcs and cosmetics. I'm pretty sure, they already calculated how much it would costs them to switch to dedicated servers in the long term, and their current business model might ensure that.
It's more likely that we will se more auric cells only cosmetics than a speculated switch in their business model, just to finance the servers.
Again you're delusional. If the devs all of the sudden basically said: No you can't play our game unless you pay monthly then they can expect either mass refunds even after the fact or even a class action lawsuit.
It doesn't matter what maybe 1000 people out of 30.000 want when it comes to this.
Anyway, the devs could simply add a p2p unranked mode and base the ranked on a monthly subscription.
They'd solve 2 problems at the same time.
The game was dead before they announced the dedicated servers to be fair.
This doesn't change the fact that people bought the game and the contract to the game basically didn't include a monthly payment. No matter how much they change the game (talking in a realistic sense here), they cannot change to monthly sub.
The guys from Kerbal Space Program would like to have a chat with you. There even was a useless ######### storm, after they changed the contract.
I see you tried to put words in my mouth after I left the conversation AND pointed out where you contradicted yourself.
Enjoy your salt filled life, Tsulan.
So did Kerbal introduce a monthly fee that was required to play over a product you previously paid for that had no monthly fee? no? gtfo then.
Also a small forum minority asking for dedicated servers=/=DBD playerbase willing to pay even 10 cents per month for dedicated servers.
What happened with KSP? I was considering purchasing that game...
They made some quote genderneutral which is totally the same as slapping a monthly cost into a game that never was advertised/sold as a game requiring a monthly fee to play.
Usually I'd take that as a joke, but it sounds exactly like the kind of thing those anti-SJW snowflakes would complain about.
The host system we currently have is the most optimal one and you ignorant whiners will regret crying about dedicated servers when we get it.
Host system lets YOU pick whatever ping you wish, dedicated server will force you to pick.
It was Chinese ppl not anti-sjws. Also most people are anti-SJW now.
Same difference. I mean anti-SJW in the sense of people who get triggered when someone says "Happy holidays".

Great, you just gave me an example of a poorly written EULA that any lawyer could blaze through.
Makes totally sense!
/not
Actually it does, again maybe play some games in the first place, dedicated servers do not warrant a monthly fee, only friggin games like WoW do it and their servers are MASSIVE.
See the problem?
Small hint: size
Woopidoo!
-.-
I don't care if they make the skins more expensive, I don't buy them anyways. Maybe f2p will even become an option once dedicated servers are out since they make cheating much harder.
No free 2 play. That would ruin the game for everyone. Cheaters left and right, People holding the game hostage, etc
Second, you dont play right? So you're not losing time to hostages games.
Jesus christ, this community is really getting to a new low.
If you play on console you already need a monthly fee to each respective company to play. They'd lose consoles if they had to pay 2 fees.
Out of probably the last 100 games I never saw somebody take the game hostage (rank1 tho)
People would create free accounts to troll.
They wouldn't fear a ban.
