Devs why does Myers start at 105% speed with no lunge.

Devs can we do something about this and help out Myers?? This is ridiculously outdated. Why does he start off worse then a regular killer??? His stealth means very little, good survivors are not stupid and a lot of them use spine chill which makes his start to the game pathetic.

It's time to update Myers. Stop using bloated kill rates from strong add ons as data that he is in a good spot. This is what I suspect you are doing. ^

Isn't this also the killer that opened up the flood gates for DBD with the Halloween chapter? Myers needs some love soon!!

Neither Wraith nor Ghostface is permanently Undetectable. Wraith has to Decloak to attack, and Ghostface is frequently snapped out of Undetectability including after an attack. The only killer in the game that is permanently Undetectable is Evil 1 Meyers.

With the rework, Ghostface will basically be permanently undetectable in a chase. Assuming you get a good expose on them

Onryo is essentially undetectable in a chase as well, especially with certain add-ons. And it's still not really a good chase power whatsoever

  • What?

A clocked wraith, crouching pig or a tier 1 Myers can chase you the whole game and not get bloodlust because of undetectable

Ghost Face breaks out of Stealth when he attacks or when someone else who is unmarked sees him even after the patch.

Onryo can be Stealthy at will but does have a lullaby which hampers it slightly. And she has to be out of stealth to attack. (The lullaby kind of hurts her stealth a bit.)

Yeah but if he is attacking, they are marked, so they are going down to it. Unless you get 360'd; it's not like you really miss many swings in this game. I doubt anyone in solo Q is going to be following you around revealing you during a chase either, only SWFs.

Onryo can also have Well Water which allows her to attack while undetectable still, assuming you time the manifest correctly.

Overall the new Ghostface will probably be about as close as it will get. His new addons should make him pretty spooky too, especially the one that gives you a speedup after marking someone.

    • I see people in solo queue following Ghost Face pretty frequently. Also even if that weren’t true literally half of all matches have a 2- to 4- person swf, they’re very common. And even skilled players miss attacks sometimes because of jukes, maybe about once a match, and average players miss more than that.
    • Yes, Onryo still has brief Undetectability briefly after Manifesting with that add-on, that’s true. Still has the lullaby though and of course that Undetectability runs out quickly.
    • I’m definitely looking forward to trying out the new Ghostface, I like all the Stealth killers including him. 😄 (maybe with the exception of Spirit, I’m not really into the whole attacking by ear thing.)
  • Because he is from 2016.

He didn't really that much changed since then.

M&A isn't counterproductive for Doctors basekit. It allows you to stealthily approach a gen to get a visual on a target and then balloon your terror radius to keep those you aren't chasing under the effect of Overwhelming Presence should they be on that gen or in the area. It's not the only way to play Doc, but it works as it was intended to work.

That last perk is Dark Devotion (Plague). I had been wanting to try it out, transferring terror to the obsession. Was quite fun.

it's still reducing his static blast range, so, you're getting less info from it (and less potential madness levels on survivors)

And also, what about my other examples? Why you completely ignored them?

upd. I can also make a screenshot, where i kill all 4 survivors without perks and addons, and get 4 iri. Will it prove, that "all killers were designed around playing without perks and addons"?

A killer should never be less than 110% movement speed.

Blah, blah, blah. I just linked you screenshots of me doing it with no tunnels or camps in a large map where the survivors can hide and obscure visibility and where not a single killer outside of Billy ever says it's killer sided. I don't even think Billy says that but at least the map was designed to facilitate his power.

Just stick with your "meta". You need it.

    You showed screenshots yes.

No actual proof that you didn't camp or tunnel but that's utterly irrelevant because nobody mentioned either.

Nor did anyone say that you can't 4k with that build.

The comment that started this debate was you saying " He starts in Tier 1 slow speed with no lunge because he has no terror radius. In this part of the game you should be racking up Save The Best For Last stacks. Once you hit 8 you move to tier 2 where you gain the speed and increased lunge."

That and getting value from unrelenting is what I'm questioning because unless you're against potatoes or they're afk that ain't happening. Even with scratched mirror and a good map I'd question the likelyhood as you'd want to take every hit and ignoring the obsession wouldn't go unnoticed.

Also you can call me out on being "meta" all you like. My own Myers build is spirit fury, enduring, Pain resonance, monitor and abuse with the dead rabbit add on to give me a tier 2 terror radius of only 4 metres. Last I checked only one of those perks was meta.

Yeah but that means tp nerf which would make me sad.

I know people will hate me for it but I love that add on lol.

  • The basic concept of The Shape is that you are, by numbers, the most powerful M1 killer in the entire game.

But, you can't start out 1-shotting people, power vaulting, and extendo-arm lunging - you gotta work up to it.

105% and no-lunge is because you're really not supposed to be chasing anyone.

Your only job at Tier 1 is to sit back and stalk.

This is the one thing that sets the Shape apart.

He is an extremely powerful killer, but instead of starting there - he must give the survivors the first generator or two and surrender in chase. Only after losing a few gens and chases can he become a 'normal' killer. And only after letting players go and stalking them even more can you awaken the power mode of Tier 3.

I love me a bit of tombstone piece too. They didn't touch it when they gave him an add on pass recently. So who knows it might be left as it is.

I really think that each tier should have some purpose and strength and not just "oh I HAVE to leave this tier as fast as possible or I lose"

It would be nice if Myers was actually much much faster while in t1 with his undetectable but he still had no lunge

I didn't just include a screenshot of me killing four survivors. I included a screenshot of me killing 4 survivors with a perfect game score, 4 IRI emblems, double pip, using his basekit and a random perk. I did so to show you that his basekit can be played effectively. It isn't a demand you play with his basekit.

didn't i put the "4 iri" in my post? 🤔 (meaning 2 pip at the same time, and, probably, perfect/close to perfect game in BP). Damn, there might even be a situation, where someone playing perkless addonless and 30s afk and still getting 4K (and i'm sure, you can make it, so it will be 4 iri. Depends on survivors, that you get). Will it mean, that you can play effectively (and stable) with this rules?

And you still ignoring my other examples

Joker I don't want to argue with you. The objective reality is that the base kits for killers are tailored to compliment their powers. Some, all of the time, others during specific situations or points in the match. They may not compliment the powers in a manner you feel is best, and that's okay, but compliment they do. You probably like to play a doc with a map wide terror radius that offers effects from being in that terror radius. It can be a very useful play, I won't argue against that. But it isn't the only effective play or what was intended with the perks being just a mistake or oversight from the dev team.

i'm not playing anymore, i'm just trying to understand, how can starstruck compliment trickster power?

Or how old dying light was complimenting... maybe not the power, but two other Myers perks?

you're STILL ignoring those two perks and talking solely about M&A

By offering exposed on any nearby antagonists that you didn't get with your blades before they ran out. Additionally, as an end game killer with No Way Out you have an exposed status on any survivors who were near the gate after you down and carry one to which you should be able to do considering the notification and time delay. It makes end game near gate saves incredibly dangerous. These scenarios are very common and Trickster having came late in DbD life was designed around style of play and scenarios much like Freddy.

Dying light and Play With Your food do compliment each other by leading you to let your obsession go offering increased movement speed for doing so and debuffs each time you hook those others you focus on. STBFL offers you a swing speed enhancement for that same choice.

When I say compliment I do not mean a direct buff to the power as that is not necessary for it to compliment. Nurse as a example does not have her power itself buffed by her perks but her perks make the drawbacks less severe and play around it well. Nurses Calling as an example shows survivors healing relatively close. Nurse has the ability to blink through walls to attack those healing almost instantly compared to other killers that would have to navigate around objects or walls where it typically occurs. The screech is all you would hear before she lands on top of you while other killers would have the heartbeat audio and red stain telling you of their approach. With Nurse it's almost instant. Stridor gives her enhanced hearing to deal with the sight issues she suffers from use of her power. Thanatophobia allows Nurse to slow the game down while she, the most capable of doing so, keeps the survivors hurt and trying to heal.

Some perks not only compliment a power or playstyle by leading you to play in a certain way but also by directly increasing the threat a killer presents. Agitation for Trapper as an example not only compliments him by making getting to the basement easier to where his traps can block all three entrances and make for a defensive position but also boost his terror radius for Unnerving Presence. It also offers pure direct benefit anytime Trapper needs to hook a survivor by reaching the hooks faster and with the enhanced speed giving saviors less time to notice the traps that may be around when they contemplate blocking or flashlights and pallets. It both compliments and directly enhances the killer.

Many perks are designed with the thought unfocused and/or hidden survivors will be in the area to support the one chased with flashlights, pallet stuns, body blocks and heals. I've carried a team with a base kit Claudette (with spiffy medkit, typically greens I get from pharmacy) using empathy to arrive on scene to offer medical while they had gained distance or hid from the killer in the short term. So effective was I in a solo queue game my teammates thanked me for carrying. I didn't think I was carrying I simply stayed on gens and periodically moved in to help as they played keep away from the killer. Apparently, what I was doing made a genuine difference. I saw it as just Claudette playing to her base kit. I had another match as Cheryl Mason on game where the obsession ran the killer around on the top floor while I followed underneath keeping her within the radius of the one perk where she offers haste to the obsession. That correctly played support is often why some perks are what they are.

Dying light and Play With Your food do compliment each other by leading you to let your obsession go offering increased movement speed for doing so and debuffs each time you hook those others you focus on. STBFL offers you a swing speed enhancement for that same choice.

I was talking about old Dying light, which was forcing you to kill the obsession first

Ok, more examples. Surge for Demogorgon. it works ONLY if you down someone with basic attack, not with his shred. The same with Bubba's franklin's demise and knock out

Kinda can talk about Legion. Discordance forces survivors to solo work on a gen, so, legion can't use his power effectively (although it can also be described as "says, where you can use your power effectively", so, "meh" argument). But okay, what about Iron Maiden? Legion can already see survivors in a locker with killer instinct. and he can't instadown them with Feral Frenzy

Can also think about Gearhead for deathslinger. He is 4.4 with 32TR, and he doesn't have any map mobility, so, he can't really utilize that aura reading with his power

Forced penance for Pyramid head. Doesn't get triggered by his ability (you can't "protection hit" it). Kinda counterproductive with deathbound (broken => can't get healed => can't proc deathbound)

  • The fact that you are playing this Killer yet still unable to recognize he cannot get Bloodlust in Tier 1 is mindboggling.
