Survivors, this is basic stuff

When the killer is blatantly facecamping, do the gens and leave. This is the easiest thing in the game to counter, yet time after time I see teammates throw themselves at the hook and turn a 1k into a 3k. Don't crouch around doing nothing for an entire hook state, then hook trade without BT. Do. The. Gens. There is no scenario in which you perform a safe rescue if the killer is committed to the facecamp. Wishful thinking causes snowballs when you could have an easy 3 out. Stop reinforcing the playstyle with poor decision making.

  • Bah, I can save them!!!

    LEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYY JEEEEEEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

  • This.

I faced a facecamping Bubba today and the whole team was just trading and getting slugged left and right. If I hadn't repaired 3 gens by myself and opened the gate it would have been an easy 4k.

Only me and one of those "I'm gonna crouch next to the hook till he leaves!"-guys made it out alive. Obviously I still depipped because using your brain is not what the game wants.

  • You forgot to add in that they were console or PC players. How dare you use sweeping statements that apply to all castes.

  • You are so right, I always get these teammates. And then the killer PIPs up and survivors wonder why they keep doing it??? SIGH

Lol this comment made my day

  • In all fairness, this is obvious information to YOU because you have kindred. Due to the LOS blockers on this map, it isnt so obvious that the killer is camping.

  • M1 all game is super fun. save or die is more fun. Camping and tunnel is a game design problem

This is a fair point but there are often context clues to tell when a killer is camping. If you go near the hook and hear the killer’s heartbeat consistently for like 15 seconds, or see someone get saved from the basement and then both rescuer and rescued instantly go down, it’s not hard to work out what’s going on. Most people ignore this stuff and just immediately rush for the save anyway.

True, but in alot of maps (like this one) even things like heartbeats dont make it obvious. If you were to go to "The Game" for example which is 64 meters by 64 meters, you're going to be hearing the heartbeat of the killer more often than not for the entirty of the game, EXPECIALLY if the killer is using perks that can enlarge it. You think the killer is camping but nah, its someone with monitor chasing your teammate and they just happen to have a 40 meter TR atm.

While I DO understand that people should crank out gens when someone is OBVIOUSLY camping...my point here is that this is a poor example of that and you cant expect these guys to really know what the killer is doing in this example...not YET anyway.

  • Saw a Huntress camping in my first game this morning. She was new, wasn't really her fault. She managed to get a second down, but as soon as she realized we were opening the exit gate she came for us, and I went for the save. All 3 of us got out. Probably could've gotten all the gens done without a second hook if my man Ace hadn't been opening a chest, but he might've had a challenge for that. So I'll forgive him. Hopefully the Huntress learned that camping isn't a viable strategy and she is able to improve.

Even in your example though on The Game, context clues are more than enough to tell experienced players whether a killer is camping. TR, knowing the map layout vs killer proximity before you unhook, paying attention to the HUD, etc. Sure, if players aren't that experienced, I can give them the benefit of the doubt. Red rank players should be experienced enough to know how to deal with it though.

Even in the worst case scenario you may be able to forgive the first person if Bubba insidious camps basement. But I actually had a teammate get hooked, watched someone unhook and then both go down, and STILL saw my last teammate going for the save... how is it not clear by then
