Can we just get rid of NoEd?

Time and time again i’ll be playing with friends, doing great. Gens done, great teamwork, healing, callouts, looping killers. And then it happens. You get the last gen done and see that glimmer of hope. The Exit Gates. But right as you reach it..*DUN DUN* NoEd proctors and all that progress, time, and teamwork is flushed down the drain by the easiest crutch perk in the game. NoEd isn’t a perk that needs to exist. It’s horrible. It proves that you can try as hard as possible and still have all that mean nothing because a killer can get his easy kills on you and your teammates. OtzDarva has proven this multiple times and has even gone out of his way to have streams dedicated to the fact that it’s unfair and unbalanced. Remove NoEd from the game. Make us all happy. Show us that you are infact. Doing a pretty good job so far.

  • Also, imagine calling NOED...a KILLER perk, the "easiest crutch perk in the game"...even though it's completely preventable, and it's existence depends on survivors, like yourself, being negligent. If you get hit with NOED, it's your own fault.

    Okay there, hoss.

"negligent" dull totems aren't a requirement, they are just a way to stop NOED from activating

And if you don't want NOED to activate, and want to stop it from happening, it now becomes a requirement. That's forgoing the fact that when a killer has NOED, you can see it coming from a mile away just by how they play.

Do you mean to imply that the counter to NOED is playing against inexperienced killers?

Upon looking at my post, I didn't see that anywhere. Let's have a discussion instead of you manufacturing statements. Thanks.

How do you tell a killer has NOED? Just assume when not all 4 perks are accounted for? Maybe they tunnel more?

They tend to be more persistent, and less mind-gamey, because they think NOED will save them. Strangely, even when NOED does activate, I still usually get out.

Interesting observation, this could not be considered a viable strategy for countering NOED however. A killer could behave like that whether or not they have NOED, and not all killers that have it will behave like that. I will admit this is good advice for casual players.

I didn't present it as a NOED counter. It was a side note. The NOED counter is the fact that survivors have complete control over it's existence. Even moreso with a perk like Detectives Hunch or to a less extent, Small Game.

True. Survivors are required to cleanse dull totems to get rid of NOED before end game. Survivors are not required to cleanse dull totems to escape.

I compare it to DS. Not everyone can be the obsession, but everyone can have DS. You have a group of 4 identical Blendette's. Hard to keep track of sometimes. You down one...was that the one you just hooked? Do you pick them up? Do they have DS? Don't know. Do you risk it for the biscuit or take safe method and leave them slugged?

Same with NOED. By most points in a game, an experienced survivor will know what perks the killer is using. They are usually pretty obvious. Except, sometimes, you can't account for the 4th perk. You have one gen left. Do you go cleanse totems? Or do you risk NOED? Do they even have it? Don't know.

I think that's the perfect comparison

Otz hasn't proved anything except that camping works when survivors are dumb. Your post process normal as well except you and your swf are to busy gen rushing to do totems

Id rather just get rid of potato survivors who dont have the mental cognition to cleanse totems.

  • Can we just do bones and get rid of ds, dh, sb, adrenaline, swf, tbagging ect

  • That hard to cleanse a jumble of bones huh?

    Yikes....

  • Do some bones next time

  • Wah I got hit by noed my team was doing so great. If the bones aren't cleansed in a swf its your own fault

I say this every time: If you/your team, especially in a SWF, can't do 5 totems that spawn in pre-set locations, you only have yourself too blame for NOED. Every game you should assume he has NOED, so it's you and your teams choice too either rush gens or take the time too do totems too avoid NOED. It's an incredibly easy too counter perk that leaves the killer running 3 perks for most of the game, or all of it if totems are done.

Pretty much this. Imagine complaining that noed "takes away all your progress". Good, Now you know how it feels to hook someone, go hook 2 other people, come back and down you again when you're on a gen, just to get hit with DS because even though you hooked 2 other people, you were "tunneling".

As most people would say, you can get rid of NOED once you get rid of keys, and alter the requirements of a few other things that survivors can very easily cheese and manipulate in their favour. The fact is that calling out what you are doing is kind of (arguably and subjectively) against the feel of the game more than NOED alone is. For better and worse SWF is here to stay, keys are likely to be here to stay, and therefore NOED is here to stay.

Map RNG, map offerings, keys, moris, OoO, NOED, camping, second chance perks yadda yadda yadda yadda are all in one way or another subjects of frustration, for either being too strong, having the potential to cuck certain killers, or making survivors lives hell. NOED, whilst deflating when you do well and you know deep down the killer didn't have the skillset to support the kills they may get is still far less a problem than some other parts of this game, and can be countered.

    This.

If the survivor can't spend one of their 12 perk slot to use Detective, maybe they deserve to be punished by NoED. I swear to god it not even like pressing m1 near a totem for 6 second require any kind of skill anyway. DS on the other hand can be combined with a lot of perk to create bullshit situation that has no downside. But killer got only 4 perk slot. don't relly matter since they got nothing to counter DS. 4 perkless survivor can perform better than a perkless killer, want to know why? You can counter any kind of strat the killer has simply because there 4 of you and survivor got decent way to counter killer in their base kit.

  • As soon as there are two killers with comms.

  • Play with a group of friends amazing coordination and teamwork yet you guys didn't do totems.

Translation we rushed gens as quickly as possible and then got smacked down by noed because we forgot totems existed
