please and thank you

This happened to me too. It was against a Hag. I went to a streamer's chat, and they said they didn't save me. I was completely clueless how I got off.
I shrugged it off, but glad to know someone else had the same thing.

Uhm. Only hackers are a valid reason to dc from that list. Otherwise camping, tunneling and SWF are part of the game and if you are unable to handle it, don’t ready up in the first place.
Many would say otherwise.
-
Good thing to remove the penalty. Why?
- Hackers
- Campers
- Tunnelers
- SWF
Simple as that. Finally, something to get rid of the people saying "just do gens" phrase.
-
The grab isn't supposed to cause entity spikes, as this bugfix says.
We can end it there :)
-
The game has been up for too long. Rework everything by making a DBD 2. Only seems reasonable.
-
We can complain all day, but let the game speak for itself.
Altruism is useless, no counterargument to it. Let's end it at that.
Make the ranking system more modern than what it is.

I don't support camping early in game, unless the killer knows other survivors are around or gens are getting done way too fast. End game camping is supported because what else is the killer supposed to do when there are no more gens to patrol? Killers want to do their job and kill survivors, make sure they don't escape. Killers have an objective too.
I don't have much of an issue with the end game camping, you make a good point.

Nah grading up means nothing but extra BP at reset. The scoring system is a fossil of old match making system.
Camping is a valid strat when used correctly and not at 5 gens. For example, during end game when all Fens are done the only thing left for the Killer is to Kill so camping at end game is ok. Even pseudo camping is ok because the Killer isn't actually face camping just patrolling the gens with in the area or checking back at the Hook before moving on.
I believe it is an old ancient system because camping just doesn't make sense for Altruism whatsoever.
The example you gave shouldn't be how the game plays all of the time. Just think about it for a few minutes...
We all let one survivor die, all gens get done, they all leave. Let's keep repeating this process. If you don't think that's boring, you must play monopoly.

Here's the problem.
There's literally no reason to stay on the hook and not just suicide.
You gain almost zero BP and are still going to get depipped, all you're doing is wasting time when you could be in another match already.
To me, another fair solution would be treating being on the hook like being in chase. You get a portion of the score/BP for things done whilst on you on there.

Not trying to backseat mod here, but you seem new to the forums - be warned, the mods have a zero tolerance policy on insults, even far milder ones than that.
At least you were nice in letting me know for courtesy sake than being disrespectful about it. Thank you.

Survivors still do it... sooooo.... yea
Oh can you show me then?
I hope this doesn't get sent twice.
Unfortunately, I can't show it until a match is done because DBD doesn't have a report of players and stats after a game is finished. When you get the chance, look at the troll report section.

Unfortunately, I'd have to waste time playing a game just to get a screenshot since there is no "After Report" of players or anything, so best suggestion I can give to you is look on the report section with the troll face.

I guess we can categorize you in the "soon to be banned from the forum" section.
I don't really get so upset. I 3-4K almost every game. My kill rate is around 80%. And I don't facecamp as a strategy because I recognize that it's bad and will lose me the game.
I do get mad when I'm playing as a survivor and all of my teammates end up slugged because they went for a save while Bubba was camping the hook, and then I have to stop the gen I'm doing and risk death to go rescue them.
You're an obvious troll, and my post is not for you. It's for anyone who actually wants to learn how to play the game.
I don't need to respond to you anymore.

What buffs? The killer buffs? Because those were all good in my opinion, except for the Bloodlust buff.
I mean in general, whatever the update was seems to have made almost everyone dislike the game. I played a month or 2 before Wesker was released, so not a longtime veteran here. However, I have played games with spot-on mechanics and DBD is one of the worst ones.
Bloodlust is cringe though.

If a killer facecamps hooks all game and he gets a 4K because you all stupidly went for saves instead of doing gens, that's on you and your teammates. If a killer is facecamping, use Reassurance if you have it (just ignore it if you don't) and then go do gens.
If you're on the hook and someone is facecamping you, you wait and do the skill checks, even if nobody is coming.
Some people will say "But why should I have to stay in the game if I'm being facecamped and nobody can be bothered to go for the rescue? It's not fun." These people are shortsighted. It also won't be fun for the killer when all 5 gens pop before he can get a second or third hook, and he'll stop doing that eventually because he'll realize that it isn't fun. If you suicide on hook or DC, you're giving him what he wants by giving him a free kill and making the rest of the game easy for him, and he'll continue to camp.
JUST ######### DO GENS.
It's not rocket science, people.
I brought up Altruism for a reason. Altruism is part of the game, facecamping is manmade. If you want to be picky like that, we can.

And Survivors can bypass that either by timing it right or getting another Survivor to bodyblock the saver
Isn't body blocking reportable though? It says on the report system localization 🤪

I've wracked my own brain and...no, 'think outside the box' doesn't work, because you aren't suggesting a foolproof solution, you're saying that someone needs to think of one.
The literal best I can do is:
- Remove grabbing
- Some killers (Bubba, Billy) can't use their power near a hooked survivor.
Thing is - I'm not sure if that would end the complaining.
That wasn't towards you, hence "they".

Face camping should 100% be nerfed. That said you have a team of 3 other players with you, you need at least two people versus a standard m1 killer to have an almost 100% success rate of unhooking and not trading. And no, you don't need comms to do this, just two players who understand that a killer cannot do two actions at once.
He's going to try to grab/damage one of the healthy survivors and the other unhooks. The three survivors rotate based on what the killer does to bodyblock and ideally everyone runs away injured. Worst case scenario a trade does occur but the other two should be able to get away/react to whatever the killer does.
Agree with facecamping nerf, amen.
I understand the rotations with 2-3 survivors, but now let's bring up Exposed. Now it's basically impossible to do anything.

Grabbing should go away for sure, and certain killers with instadown capability shouldn't be able to use their power near a hooked survivor but beyond this...how exactly do you 'nerf' camping in a way that survivors wouldn't be able to abuse the hell out of?
AFAIK, this has been the big hurdle for the devs. They don't like facecamping, but all the stuff they've prototyped internally has been exploitable.
Removing the grab mechanic is literally the easiest way to calm down camping. There is no exploitation from that. If you get hit twice, it's just how it is. That still gives you the opportunity to escape.
But if all of the stuff they've prototyped has been exploitable, they aren't really thinking outside the box are they?

Camping is easily the most complained about problem at this point, and it's sad that still nothing seems to be done about it in the next patch.
It can't be completely prevented, but it sure as hell needs to be nerfed adequately, now that killers received bunch of buffs in the last midchapter update.
I'm not sure if it's really supported or anything, the devs just haven't done anythng to at least make it less effective. Which is very frustrating.
The buffs are what ails me more than what it should.

It is deeper than that. Survivors are punished for going towards the killer, regardless of their other bloodpoint objectives (repairing, boldness, altruism). because of the flaws in the hook system, the killer can just stop people from performing altruism. I don't understand your fixation on "survivors being punished" for it. if your teammate is being camped, coordinate a save or if you are solo, just do gens. doing gens punishes the killer for camping. Like yes, camping punishes uncoordinated survivors and stops them from unhooking. What besides that is your point?
Like I stated in my reply to someone else, if you want to level/grade up, you need iridescent points to get to iridescent grade. Camping ruins the Altruism part, so why should it be there anyway?
Can we talk about Altruism instead of skipping it?
-
@SuzuKR said:
Camping doesn't prevent unhooking. Also, it's a strategy devs have explicitly acknowledged and balanced this game around. The way to punish camping is to do gens. The main issue is solo queue lacks info to know a teammate is being camped compared to people on comms who can just call it out.
Does not prevent, but it's pretty much 90% prevention especially with facecamping by abusing grab mechanics.
As for doing gens, that again makes my point disingenuous to the OP. What is the point of Altruism then?

I am not sure what you are trying to say. What exactly do you want an explanation of?
If camping is naturally a byproduct, like you mentioned, why are survivors punished for it? Aka, Altruism... like it was said in the OP.
-
@prion11 said:
it is a byproduct of the hook system. so long as hooks exist, people will camp them
Doesn't mean Altruism is ignored because of it. I'd like a good explanation. Survivors should be rewarded for the laziness killers possess.
