It's used a lot because you don't have the requirement for sprint burst of 99'ing it meaning if you want to use it mid chase you would have to leave a gen or the killer would have to have massive pressure. Without that requirement and distance on command when injured..... yeah you easily get scenario where 4 survivors running it easily add 2 minutes at least for their team to work on gens.

Overall not a very well designed perk in terms of power. Oh yeah don't forget that DH for distance its literally uncounterable vs most killers.

IDK, we're gonna disagree on this for sure, but that's ok. I just don't find DH to be that big of an issue when I'm playin killer. Most of the time it buys the surv a few extra seconds, if they don't just DH into a rock, or it gives them a false sense of confidence. if I did find it to be a big issue for my playstyle then I'd just run something like fearmonger so the surv's are always exhausted. There's other strats of course, different builds or just faking out the DH first so you're not slowed by the hit animation, but fearmonger seems the simplest without sacking too many perk slots.

No you didn't, but again, if 80% of ALL survivors run it, then there's a reason for that. And that reason has to be that it's a good perk. Beyond good, otherwise we'd see other 'good' perks just as much.

We do see other perks used as much though. You can't use popularity as a means to pick what's nerfed. DH's not busted, it's got alot of limitations, and it's popularity means you should expect it so run killer perks to hit exhaustion. If you used popularity to nerf, you'd have to include: sprint burst, borrowed time, and bbq and chili to that list. I think your pool of perks is off too.. I believe you're thinking 'why are people using DH instead of every other perk in the game', but almost everyone builds with one exhaustion perk, so you should be comparing just the exhaustion perks. When you look at it that way, you'll see that the two most adaptable, and useful, are SB and DH... both of which are the most popular. I'd argue that it's not that DH (or SB for that matter) are too powerful, but that the other exhaustion perks are too weak/limiting to be useful for all maps. You can use an exhaustion perk like Lithe, but what if the map is 'The Game'? Than it's practically useless... best to find a perk that works for all maps, like DH.

Just because a perk is used a lot doesn't mean it should be nerfed.

80% of killers I go against use ruin, should ruin be nerfed? No.

yeah, totally agree. I've never heard anyone complain about DH before lol. It's a really good perk, so it's used alot... doesn't mean it should be nerfed. You might as well nerf BT then too. I don't run DH typically as I find more value in SB, but when i'm killer I just expect the survivor to be running it by default and play accordingly. it's like a freebie when I'm trying to figure out the survivor's loadout.

  • I've tried this on xbox and my friend's tried it on ps4 and we couldn't get it to work. We got premonition to activate with the killer directly in front of us and pointed 4 times in a row multiple times in multiple matches and it doesn't register. I keep seeing where people say they got it to work, but I've tried under various methods under clinical conditions and it's busted.

Why do I get the feeling you're bragging? Alot of people still can't find the next gen systems. Telling us you're on the Series X isn't necessary. Xbox is Xbox.

Lol what? Sorry my comment made you feel that way. Some issues may be hardware dependent and i wanted to give as much info as possible is all. I don't think what console you own is impressive, as long as we can all play. I thought the PS5 was the only one hard to get still.

When a killer camps the first person he hooks and doesn't allow them to even play how is this fun for survivors?? There needs to be some kind of penalty for camping..heck we get a penalty for DC when there is no hope to even do crap.. also after all the changes the game has become very killer sided and almost impossible to advance at times..

If you're being camped then you're essentially still taking up the killers time and allowing your teammates to do gens. I agree it's not fun for the survivor, but it's also not a smart trade off for the killer. If the survivor doesn't attempt to escape, and the survivors don't attempt a rescue, that's 120 seconds of hook time where the killer is awol for the other players. A gen takes 80 seconds, with one person working it and no buffs, to pop... so a camped person has afforded his team potentially 3-4 gens. That being said, if one person goes for save and is downed, then when the killer goes to hook them the original can be rescued by another... so you can beat camping without any BT or other perks. A basement Bubba would be difficult to do that with, but not impossible.

When you DC you not only take repair time away from your team and give the time advantage to the killer, but you also reduce the total points that everyone can get. I feel like too many survivors forget they're on a team and should be trying to get as many survivors out as possible, and only play for for themselves.

How in the world has it become killer sided? I main surv but play both, and while I feel the balancing is alright, the recent changes have definitely been in favor of survivors. The recent changes saw boon totems, which i like but are really powerful for survivors, and nerfs to a bunch of killers... how is the game killer sided?

  • This is a pretty weak build for huntress (though common). The only reason you would want to run a build like this for huntress, iron maiden in particular, is if you're trying to focus specifically on hatchet throws, but there's way stronger builds.

OK it's my favorite playstyle. I hope it's never removed :) I think it is the ULTIMATE WIN.

Hahahahaha. Bravo, you gotta be baiting. Regarless, it's a legit play style... though pretty boring and reduces the points the killer would get from sacrificing on hook.

  • @Advorsus said:

You can now get hit by a killer, run to the other side of the map and heal, before they can ever get to you, and it only takes two perks. Two perks to keep from being downed ever.

Just COH, and the new exhaustion perk...

You can even bring a med kit as a, just in case situation. Then watch as killers waste time chasing and hitting you without being able to down you.

No reason to be skilled at this game anymore. Let's just make survivors immortal already. It's already easy mode, might as well knock that last nail in the coffin and get it over with.

you can’t think of any ways to combat an exhaustion perk and totems? If survivors are running across the map every time they’re hit then it removes the killers need to worry about gen suppression. Seems like the issue isn’t that it removes the skill from the game, but that it requires new skill development and there’s always a learning curve to that.

  • @Dumpstick said:

    The best boon spots are:

    • In corners. Swamp map has tons of these. It may not be too effective for Shadowstep but it's an excellent way to create a "Medic Station" for COH, as killer is less likely to stumble across them.
    • On upper floors. The Steelworks is indeed a great place and there's usually at least one totem on top in the three possible spots. The one in Dead Dawg Saloon in the closed room is also good. The spot in the Cathedral on Crotus opposite the gen. The two spots on second floor of Thompson's. And really any spot on The Game.
    • The ones in the blue containers on Lerry's. Hard to find as Survivor, hard as Killer as well.
    • The ones in the barrels on Dead Dawg.

Yuuuuup, so true. It may be tempting to put the boon in the center of the map, but the more trafficked it is the sooner it’ll get snuffed. Also consider its placement around gens… the killer’s gen patrol is going to have traffic as well. The cat walk is crazy good! It’s in the center for high coverage, but in an area where there’s hardly any traffic, and even when the killer goes for it it takes forever to get up there.

  • I don't understand why SWF is an issue... if SWF groups are so tough then wouldn't their MMR be high and they'd be going against higher MMR killers? Isn't the goal for both parties to be playing better teams so there's always a challenge? Isn't the point that the MMR would naturally separate good SWF teams from killers that can't beat them, and vise versa? I would think, if your MMR was on point, you'd be loosing half your matches anyway. As to people dodging lobbies and/or DC'ing... doesn't that just mess up their MMR and continually pit them against players they're outclassed with? This whole game is a casual mode... loosing is how we learn from the match, and how the system tries to keep us playing in our current skill level, we shouldn't be concerned with it. If I was continuously loosing, or winning, matches then there would be concern that the MMR isn't ranking me properly, but I don't see a reason a surv team couldn't talk to eachother. On that note though.... it would be awesome if there were an immersed game mode with proximity chat! How immersive would it be for survs to have survs whispering to eachother, or trying to talk over generators, but so the killer can't hear them.... Or have the killer be calling their names while walking past them in the tall grass.... THAT would be dope!

I don't think anyone really knows if the Entity has a family. 🤷‍♂️

You think the Entity is trying to make one? 😥

  • Just so we're clear, I mean no disrespect.

  • I don't approve of camping because it sucks for the person hooked, but also it's a poor strategy for the killer. It's not too hard to save the person on the hook, even without items or perks, if you're willing to hook swap. While this seems counterproductive, it does allow for a greater amount of the killers time to be wasted. In the most basic camp scenario: I get hooked and my teammates don't have any perks or items to help them, they're not willing to take the hit or swap hooks, and I'm left to die (pretty lame teammates)..... it takes 120 seconds to die from first hook (two phases at 60 seconds each), and 80 seconds to repair a generator without any buffs. My team should be able to complete 3 generators (4 if they double up on one right after their first is done) at the cost of my life. The killer has forfeited all map pressure and end game gen placement, and is essentially starting a 1v3 with 1-2 gens of the surv's choosing, all for one kill.... it's a waste of time for the killer. I recommend, as a surv, you build to combat the camper or build to unhook the surv as safely as possible (borrowed time) after taking advantage of some of the hangtime. AND FFS, will people stop trying to kobe with 4 gens left?

DC Penalties should not exist on a game that is this bad. The game barely works that alone is a huge con to having DC penalty system.

A DC penalty system on a properly working game is acceptable but DbD isn't properly working. Don't trust me? check how manny times and how long have they been disableing Maps, check the FIASCO LAUNCH of the RE Chapter, hell check normal performance on "old" gen consoles. Then there's the constant bugs that hinder whatever gameplay there is, when there is any gameplay.

As far as gameplay and annoying things go, you're further punished by DC'ing than enduring whatever annyoing stuff it is. IT's riddiculous that' i'd rather suffer what is annoying me than just go and find some other match.

DC'ing doesn't ruin the game for others, this is the biggest BS argument ever, i've lost matches vs 3 survivors cause guess what, the match was unbalanced to begin with that i didn't had a chance even against 3 survivors now imagine if there was a 4th survivor who didn't DC, for whatever reason it might have been,, bad map, bad rng, builds, etc, all elements you can't control, you can't control the ######### optimization, you can't control the poor graphical quality, you can't even control your build, it won't work unless everything is falling in line to your side. And it's the same crappy game for both sides.

I've had 5 gens done and then i get killed because someone decided to bring the killer to gates immediatly, i've been 1 hooked because everyone was afraid of playing, i've been tunneled, i've been camped, i've brought teams from a losing game by pulling double rescues and taking hits.

I've been doing this for 3 years and with each passing year nothing changes, the same issues, the same non solutions, the same disregarding of actual active player input. Over the last year i've probably spent more time here in the forum than actually playing cause playing the game is a miserable experience.

Point is no matter what DbD isn't FUN, it's a frustrating game no matter what. Even if you "Win" you won't have fun, it will be a one sided victory, never will it be a close call game where player decisions actually changed the outcome. IT will always be whoever the game doesn't screw gets to win. That isn't a game worth having DC penalties.

The way to avoid people Dc'ing is by having a proper game that works and is fun to play. DbD doesn't do those things so a DC penalty is just making players feel even worse and have less enjoyment or will to play the game.

Can't tell if this is satire or not, but all the 'issues' you listed seem to be that you don't like the decisions of your teammates. If you truly don't have fun regardless of what happens, and I mean this with your interest at heart, but why not find something that is fun for you instead of playing a team game and quitting on your teammates? I'm really not trying to be ill spirited, but if you don't enjoy something don't participate, and if you do participate then show some sportsmanship and try your best.

  • I mean, if there's someone left in the game, then you should be recovering in the chance they can come back around and scoop you.

  • I don't see an issue with the new boon perks. Its easy to find the totems by their audio, it takes up survivor time when restoring them, and there's so many other things to track surv by other than scratches. If anything i find it creates a 'base' for the survivors, which means if i know where the totem is, I can go there and find any wounded survs I lost... then it's a few blood trails and moans before they're down. I don't even use the boons when i play surv anymore cuz i found myself spending too much time messin with totems and not enough workin the gens. At first the boons showed me how much i relied only on scratches, but now it's just a place where survs can feel overconfident.

  • Your comment is misleading and clickbait at best. BHVR didn't create the NFT, and they never tweeted that they were selling it. BHVR got the license to use Pinhead, the license owner got rights to the model to do with what they want, the license owner made it an NFT. Why is anyone blaming BHVR? Also, why is there such an uproar over NFT's and not other crypto currencies who's energy consumption is greater (Bitcoin)? If you want to be up in arms over NFTs, that's fine, but blame the creator of the NFT and not the artists whos work is being used for means they didn't intend for.

  • That's amazing hahahahah! Love it!

  • I was seeing this when i played her too. I figured it was their attempt to kill the boon totems, I've seen it less since circle of healing got locked. I put boon on my other characters to combat it. It'll pass once people realize killing her won't stop the boon.

  • I forgot all about Pumpkinhead!!! That would be dope!

  • I understand your frustration, and have experienced it myself, but I feel your anger is misplaced. The killer isn't responsible for your experience, nor the survivor theirs, though some killers do try to give a show. It's best if you view the killer as an NPC, then it's easier to see the quitter is the problem. They're the ones that handicapped the survivors by leaving and reduced the possible points available to both you and the killer. Quitters are weak and spoil the match for both parties. I main survivor, but when i'm the killer I don't expect the survivors to let me do things if I'm being owned simply because i used a BP buff. We shouldn't expect someone else to make up for the bad behavior of another, we should expect the one doing the bad behavior to get better.

  • I think they just got carried away with the 'asymmetrical' nature hahah

  • if they remove the 5.2.2 update we may be able to uninstall and reinstall to go back to 5.2.1....
