It's not part of the UI update, it's been a bug with the clown for probably over half a year now
-
everyone has their own opinion but i don't think there's anything wrong with keys or mori's, they're the only thing that still make the game decently exciting after a while, getting to both mori or be mori'd is honestly the only ######### refreshing thing in this game that makes you go "FUUUCK" as a survivor in a relatively exciting way depending on the mood, and the same can be said as a killer with hatches.
The thing is, Mori's and Keys are rare, which is what makes them exciting. Honestly i don't understand why people sook over them, it rarely happens and when it does, it adds an element of 'oh damn' to both sides. Anyone who is that triggered by it shouldn't even be playing the game because of the buggy ######### mess DBD is in the first place.

I'm confused, if you are getting 6-9 matches in 3 hours you would have a 44-87% escape rate to finish the challenge as per your first comment. That seems well within reason to me, am I missing something here?
Thats the problem though, it's not a 44-87% escape rate, it may be closer to 40% or lower but not even close to 80%. You have to put in variables like how many times a week can i play, which i get an average of 6-9 games a day can work, but what about the days i don't play? even a single day means alot of catching up to do, which ultimately leads to alot of xp farming by just sitting afk when i don't feel like spending 30 minutes to get into a game with horrible matchmaking and dying because of a camping killer.
Anyway whatever happens, happens, and theres no point arguing about it, but in my experience it feels grindy and repetitive as #########

3 hours is equivalent to maybe 10-12 games due to survivor queue time (at least at red ranks). If you did it in that amount of time it seems perfectly reasonable considering you would have a 40-50% escape rate. If the challenge was 10 or more times then yes, that's grindy. 3 hours is nothing when you have 2+ weeks on each tome level.
very late response as i dont check forums much, but 3 hours is more like 6-9 games because of survivor que times, and on top of that it's about a 30% escape rate because of the spastic matchmaking, where rank 8's are equal to rank 20's in skill level

To see if the killer is near the hook and see what your mates are doing so you know if you should go for the save or do other objective?
to see if the killer is near the hook... thats what he's saying buddy buckaroo, you can't see if the killer is near the hook when they have undetectable status, but you can still see your teammates so it's not all bad
-
i think the devs underestimated the 'escape 5 trials' one, it took me probably 3 hours to finish that one because of matchmaking time and you know, solo que escaping

Recently? No. In-general? Yes.
Some Survivors are just naturally toxic to others for some reasons... and than they're just toxic for absolutely no reason. While I'm sorry for the inconvenience this brought, this still isn't a bannable offence (the "making it your goal to ruin peoples games" part, not the highly racist things he was saying in post-game... that is actually bannable!)
But yeah, tunneling and or camping Survivors to ruin their game isn't bannable, since it follows under the argument that camping/tunneling is a strategy for Killers to do. While that's not bannable, targeting specific Survivors in-game is actually reportable! But the thing is, this Killer wasn't doing that, it just seems like they were actively ruining anyone's matches, not just a specific player.
But, making those comments at the end of the game, especially the very offensive term they used... is reportable, and I advise you also follow up with a ticket submission as well if you haven't already done so.
Here's the support link again for context: https://support.deadbydaylight.com
Otherwise, is camping/tunneling bannable? No. Is ruining any Survivors match also bannable? No. If they did something like... block you in a corner and didn't move, than went to get fast food for 2 hours... than that's bannable. If they make... those types of comments in post-chat, than that's reportable. If they're actively rude and or offensive to you with swears and such in post-chat, than you can also report that.
But is random camping/tunneling to Survivors they don't know bannable? While also camping/tunneling them to death? No. Unless they did other actions that are actually bannable, than it isn't bannable i'm afraid.
Also, here's the game rules link again for context: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
You'll find all the information you need in the game rules link, if you haven't done so already. If you did report them for the post-chat comments they made with the offensive lingo, than please do follow it up with a support ticket. If you didn't report them in-game, than there isn't much you can do i'm afraid.
In-game reports are mandatory, so if you didn't report them for that post-chat comment, than there isn't much you can do now.
well the thing is tunneling and camping like i said, i dont mind, but what about slugging and leaving all 4 survivors on the ground until they're nearly completely bled out, then hooking them in the last 2 odd mins before they all die?
-
@Fibijean said:
It would be difficult to make an argument for facecamping and slugging being bannable, unless he specifically targets you and no one else over multiple games (which is a reportable offence, although you'll need video proof to back it up - see the link below for more details).
What is bannable, though, is using that kind of language in the post-game chat. You can and should report him for that in-game, and if you like you can also submit a Support ticket with screenshots of the conversation.
More details on bannable offences and how to report them correctly can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
And you can submit a Support ticket via the Help Center here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com

What about a DC in a Custom Game?
Lets say me and a friend try something out and instead of ending the game regulary we just quit because it doesnt matter to either of us. Does this count as well? Or is it just the regular online games that you get banned from? Can you have a custom game when you got a ban?
And I follow the opinions here that you should not be banned if your game crashes(especially when it comes up with the report crash screen!), for this happens way too often.
And yes it is easily possible to notice the difference between manually quitting an application or a game(ALT+F4/Leave Match via menu), loosing internet connection, or other issues like crashes, bluescreens, etc. As software developer I had to programm around such things often enough.
You should be fine, custom games don't (shouldn't) count, as items/ perks/ BP earned in there don't go towards your regular gameplay, so i dont see why the ban would affect it.
also lose not loose eck dee

I don't know who told you that, but they obviously weren't a developer because it's completely untrue.
The last official word we heard on the subject was in the June/July Developer Update when the system was first announced: "The length of the timer gradually decreases so long as the player does not disconnect from additional matches."
So rest assured, whoever told you that DC penalties would only reset once a month was misinformed.
hopefully thats true, thanks fam
-
When are DC bans going to be reset?
I'll keep it brief, but i heard that the bans are going to be reset every rank reset (E.G if you DC upto a ban of 60 mins, if you want to avoid being banned for 120 mins/ whatever the next interval is, when does that reset so that if you were to DC again it would go back to the starting 1 min.)
I think that having it at rank reset is an extremely irritating suggestion, with the game in its buggiest form i've EVER seen (literally can't go more than 3 games without a game breaking bug, and the game lately has been the laggiest piece of [BAD WORD] i've ever seen (no it's not just my connection, i talk to people i play with after every game and they agree it's always laggy af in oceanic servers rn), I was hoping to hear 'the bans will be reset every few days/ week', but due to what im assuming is a mostly European/ American playerbase, it will most likely be in their ballpark for what they deem as fair.
TL:DR I'm all for the penalty of DCING, so long as it's more of a 'no you've dc'd, take a break mate' instead of a 'whats that? you dc'd 6 times in the past month? Nah mate sorry but all those hours you've put in this game, yeah they're gone, [BAD WORD] off'

I think in addition to disconnecting being punished, survivors should also be punished for killing themselves on the hook. I think it's great that this system has been implemented since a lot of survivors ruin games by disconnecting immediately after going down or if they don't like the killer; however, I have seen a lot of survivors deliberately run into the killer early and then kill themselves on the hook to avoid punishment. I would imagine this system could be implemented by considering it killing themselves on the hook if they wasted about 80+% of the meter on the hook (through attempting to escape and subsequently letting go early in the struggle phase).
ehhh i mean you can't really detect that though, what if you're in a game where you know your only chance of escaping is to 4%, so you attempt it and realise theres no point in staying alive so you #########.... DCing is really the only sure thing to ban... which even then sometimes it isnt the players fault

it's SO BAD RIGHT NOW
it's bad right now because the devs said they're nerfing insta heals so everyones using them beforehand.

I don't know that I'd go so far as to say the game is boring now, but I do agree with you for the most part about the way it's been balanced. In my unpopular opinion, ultra rares like instaheals, keys and, yes, moris, add variety and flavour to the game. There's something fun about how absurdly overpowered they are.
It's not competitive, there's nothing riding on it, so it doesn't have to be perfectly balanced. It's okay to have a game every now and then where the killer moris everyone in five minutes, or where the survivors make a clutch escape with the hatch.
Those 'pog' moments are what gives the game its character - character which is lost when those items are nerfed, which I think is a real shame.
And yes, while the BNP nerf is justified, I agree that they're no longer powerful enough to justify their rarity or cost.
holy ######### couldn't agree with you more man, it's an unpopular opinion but its my opinon too. Exactly what you said with the ultra rares n stuff, it adds variety and makes the game more exciting... thinking about the old game, it's insane how much survivors have been nerfed (for a while it was good but now it's just getting SO balanced that every game is nearly the exact same with nothing suprising and fun anymore). Like at the start of the game - double pallets, no window blocks, no bloodlust, vacuum pallets and windows, all windows were open, sprint burst was pretty gud, insta flashlights, brand new parts ETC. You look at all those things we used to have, while things like double pallets were definately OP, things like insta flashlights and BNP were actually fun and could make some epic plays, but now Brand new parts are literally garbage, you have to hit fairly medium difficulty skill checks to use it, and even then it only does... what like 25%?
and not to mention that even after i posted this, i got tunneled and camped in about 2/5 games (the other games i got lucky due to the broken matchmaking which matched a rank 10 with a rank 3 and 18, which meant the killer was P3 and was actually respectable, so i didn't get camped)
-
i would main killer but i don't want to wait 5 minutes for a single game

OP options for both the Killers and Survivors do not sound fun at all.
there used to be and people loved the game then, but then it got changed into exactly what im saying now is just vanilla and starting to get boring

@shalo said:
it's because of teammates who farm me ... can we make a system punishing tunnelers and campers
Why do you want to punish the killers rather than the cause?
idk where you've been playing but as i said, 8/10 games tunnelers and campers for me... no matter what rank i play, even if the survivors do nothing dirty. I don't know whats causing it, but it's definately not the survivors. unless you want to use "survivors" as absolute, just their existence is enough to give the killer reason to tunnel

You’ve clearly never played killer enough, and not repeatedly been the victim of those arsehole tactics.
In no way, no how, was any of that EVER fun for a killer. EVER!
played hundreds of hours of killer and been subjected to it plenty of times, but without things like that in the game it again, makes it boring. If a survivor escapes because of ######### like that, then you can say it's purely because of that, but if you kill the survivor even with those tactics, then you can talk as much ######### as you want and feel rewarded.

"some people love the game being super vanilla and balanced, but like even the insta heals being nerfed now, #########!"
"insta flashlights and brand new parts were both super fun to use"
Killers want to play a fair game and have fun as well. If you are looking for a bully-simulator, you can turn your attention to somewhere else.
not a bully simulator, you pretty much missed my point. ofc there shouldn't be OP survivor and nothing for killer, i'm saying give a few OP items to killer and a few OP items to survivor, even if they're rare.. just adds something to the game

Only comment I really wanna make here. I've had people outrun me while I was in FF cause of Sprint Burst.
yeah... look while i'm saying it, i'm kind of neutral on it... like it's fun as survivor obviously to get that thrill of outrunning the killer, but like you said it can be a bit crappy for the killer... IDK lol
