New Freddy is much better, but so boring. The old Freddy design was actually unique and so much fun to play. They're never bringing the old Freddy back though.
I hope at least they make a similar killer

More out of curiosity than any kind of animosity, but why do you want Old Freddy back?
I remember him generally being a laughably pathetic killer (the only one in the game who literally could not do ANYTHING to survivors without using his power) beforehand. I won't deny that he is much easier/stronger/more effective or however else anyone wants to describe it than he was before, but I can't fathom why they would revert the massive rework that he received.
All that said, if they wanted to reintroduce old variations of now-reworked killers into Custom Games (such as Freddy, Doctor, and Legion), then I have no problem with that. I don't personally see Old Freddy ever making a return to public matchmaking though.
Maybe they can put a new game mode without ranking system where you can play the old versions of killers, like Freddy, Legion, Doc, nurse...

i want to play him again because he was a difficult killer, i don’t like to play easy killers like nurse and spirit

Because to me, he was. How is having wall hacks not an easy way to play? There was no challenge when playing as him. That doesn’t mean I don’t find the current Freddy EASIER to play.
Dude you probably live on mars,
placing pallets everywhere isn’t easy
but the dream transition mind games was? You are basically the opposite of everyone.
“There was no challenge playing with old freddy”... probably the funniest thing I heard today

And where exactly did I say he was weaker now? All my comments were about how game breaking his old ability was. He shouldn’t have been able to see people’s auras from across the map or see them on the ground.
The new Freddy is stronger but more fair to play against. I’d rather play against a viable killer than one with wall hacks.
You said that Old Freddy was the easiest killer to play

I mean, it wasnt really trash, it was just really hard to use. Maybe with some tweaks he would have been able to become a better killer without being completely reworked into the boringly strong mess he is today.
Agree, i prefer a difficult and funny killer to play than an easy one and annoying

I said a bunch of OPINIONS. Just like you did. Nothing more and nothing less.
The fact that freddy is easier to play than before isn’t an opinion, it’s reality

Then you said a bunch of lies

So having built in OoO and Deerstalker isn’t broken to you? Being able to have that much control on where survivors are at all times? He was one of the easiest killers to play as for me and I played him when I wanted easy matches. He had far too much information. Why do you think his aura reading has been completely removed? It was too much.
Wait, seriously? The old Freddy was the easiest killer to play? You mean that the actual Freddy is the easiest killer to play, he has map control and anti loop snares or fake pallets, it’s more unbalanced now than before! Come on man it’s ridiculous he has too much in his base kit

His power was broken. Why should any killer be able to see you on the other side of the map or constantly see you on the floor when you’re being slugged? He had OoO and Deerstalker built into his base kit which in no way was a fair mechanic. He’s a much healthier killer now because he’s stronger but he also has more counter play.
OG Freddy is the only killer I’ve ever legitimately hated going against and I know plenty of people felt the same way.
Broken?, how was supposed to be broken? If his power was so “broken” then he could be a top tier killer
-
@Hallowgeek said:
Old Freddy was the most annoying and broken killer to go against. I can’t even begin to fathom why anybody would want him back.
How was it fun not being able to know where he was? His lullaby wasn’t a direct indication of anything and then welp, you’re asleep. Escape him during a chase? Doesn’t matter as he’ll see your aura from across the map.
He was fun to play as but I hated going against him. It wasn’t even to do with him being difficult to verse, I just don’t understand how anybody can think that a wall hack killer makes any sense?
What does that mean? He didn’t deserve the rework only because people hate to go against him
-
@TheRockstarKnight said:
Extremely unlikely; according to the devs Freddy was changed not just because of how most people found him unfun to play but also because people found him annoying and confusing to play against.
Also, as much as I like Old Freddy, he was very much RNG based, even with his skillcheck reducing add-ons it was very much RNG whether you could apply enough slow down and get enough information out of your aura reading.
When it went his way he was unbeatable; a slugging god and a slowdown master - uniquely able to sneak up on and surprise Survivors at a level greater than Scratched Mirror Myers if you used Old Red Paintbrush and M&A.
When it didn't go his way though, you could become a joke; staring impotently at Survivors as they repeatedly failed Self-Care skillchecks in your face.
Obviously most matches were somewhere in the middle - with the skill of the opposing sides usually being a deciding factor, but it still wasn't a good feeling for either side when you did win or lose just because of RNG.
I loved Old Freddy's unique power - trading immediate aggression for ultimate information and slowdown; but it being based around skillchecks made it unfair - and basing it around specific interactables would either make too weak or too strong (depending on the accessibility of the interactables).
I'd love to get Old Freddy back too, but he had a lot of issues that were nigh unsolvable.
He needed his rework.
Sure, he needed some buffs, but they turned him into another killer

Yeah I doubt they will revert all the new mechanics and the work they went through with the rework.
It's the same reason why I predicted that the overheat mechanic on hillbilly wasn't going to go away. Unless the devs find a severe problem they usually stick to stuff they put a lot of work into
Not revert, adding a new nightmare in the main menu is what i was thinking

Last I remember, devs have said they are not interested in bringing old Freddy back. I imagine if they were, they would never have re-worked him to the degree that they did in the first place.
That was the point of playing old Freddy, he was the most difficult killer to play, that’s what i liked about him, i also liked his old power but now it’s changed so much

Unlikely. Given how much work went into re-doing Freddy completely, they probably wouldn't have done it unless they were that confident that they did not want old Freddy back.
Hope is the last to die

The devs also said that Billy was the most balanced killer in the game, but then he got nerfed :(

for me killer is way harderer to play in terms of moral
when you play killer survs tbag you at any pallet or window, they accuse you after game if they dislike something, they alltogether write "ez" if they succeeded in escaping or somehow outplayed you, they whine if they lose, they prolong game by staying at the gates and tbaging.
i mostly play killer but recently i played surv and you know what? I feel relief
I dont feel this insane pressure as when i play killer counting each second because any wrong decision (walking to the wrong gen for 5-10 sec) means complited gens Getting a flashlight after a difficult chase just an amazing feeling almost as good as in a bunch of bodies picking up surv with "antitunneling perk"
As killer you always 1 vs 4 in chat dont you dare for a moment broke any of uwritten rules imposed on killer (camping someone or following him after unhook) they will tear you apart
Im a main killer but i also play survivor with my friends, definitely killer is more difficult, even a noob survivor can win because he’s carried by perks

Does anyone actually like them? I see them every other game, whether I'm playing killer or survivor. Not just that, but they are a constant topic on these forums. They listened to the Billy changes, why not these?
I think that the key is the most unbalanced thing in this game

Once Franklin's came out, most people completely forgot about Lightborn, seeing it as just an inferior version of it. That's where I disagree my good sir, for Lightborn is a godsend against toxic survivors.
If you ever see two or more flashlights in your lobby, I strongly urge you to run Lightborn and see the world of difference it makes. Obviously it'll make you completely immune to blinds, and to anyone saying it's still possible prior to the buff, it's not, at least realistically. You can down a healthy survivor in the time they're trying to blind you before they can even slightly affect you. Running it immediately makes the flashlights brought in by survivors completely useless.
While that's extremely helpful, I think it's better in chase. For most survivors, they'll try and blind you while breaking a pallet, and since you'd be running Lightborn, they'd just be wasting their time, allowing you to drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to down them. Some survivors might be able to realize that you're running Lightborn after the first failure to blind you, but like I said previously, the perk is so rarely used that you will likely trick a survivor multiple times.
To sum it up, run Lightborn, and sit back and laugh as they try and blind you.
Lightborn it’s going to be buffed

I'm one of those people who buys DLC packs when I feel like it, and not just when it comes out. So I'm looking for a new one and I'm considering getting Shattered Bloodline. Yeah Ik Adam has his pebble, but I don't really care about that. All I want to know is if Spirit is worth it, and if so, how I should approach using her.
Thanks for the help in advance guys.
spirit is top tier, so yes
