I honestly don't mind it being this way. It's nice enough that they got some voice lines from the actual actors.
I can deal with the screaming, coughing, etc being different actors.
There are probably hundreds of reasons why it's like this, screaming putting strain on their throat being one of them.

Dark theory is going to need a buff or rework soon, since they are removing hindered and haste stacking, which is going to make Dark Theory pretty much Shattered Hope's twin in terms of how pointless they are to run.

Overrated, with weak downing potential. Nurse and Billy eat him for breakfast.
I hate to say it, but playing as The Ghoul is like playing killer on the easy difficulty setting with how they are right now.
He's the easiest S tier killer to play and pick up by far. Nurse and Billy might be better than Ghoul, sure. but who cares when he is in the same league as those two, he's a million times easier to play and learn than those two EVER were, and he's way less punishing than those two are when you're whiffing. It sucks cause he's a fun killer, he just feels so cheap and easy to play as in this current state.

When casual interests converge, this is basically what you get: people wanting a killer nerfed because supposedly you can pick him up day 1 and win non-stop, and because they want easy killers for some special events, they're rushing to get said killer nerfed so that they simply won't have to deal with him. Are the interests of the more competitive players or killer players taken into consideration with any of this? I don't think so.
I get it. Coming from Smash Bros experience, I'm used to the feeling of "Things were going so great until this character came along. Now I've got to deal with them." But at the end of the day, you do in fact have to deal with them. No other developer would even put up with these ridiculous requests about nerfing characters who just barely came out. How long has it been? 1, 2 days? At least try to learn counterplay before you ask for such a thing.
Running with that theme, you're gonna have to face strong killers running meta eventually. Why prolong the inevitable? This is what made no sense about the "low BP cap good" arguments. Why not face a new killer with a complete competitive loadout? You'd be facing a killer at their peak strength, but wielded by a non-peak experience player. Even if the player has somehow mastered the killer after 48 hours of him being available, again how do you turn a chance to learn and improve into such a negative thing?
I really like The Ghoul but I have to agree. The killer is far too easy for how strong they are. Nerfs are pretty much mandatory at this point and I'm one of the people wanting to main this killer. Power is low risk high reward every time.

One of the things people haven't fully learned yet is that slide doesn't happen on the last leap. So when you learn that, you can know when cancelling is good.
I just went against a good survivor team that realized this, and kept track when i was enrage. I ended up getting 1 kill that match with only 5 hooks and the rest getting out.
The were able to know when i was able to slide, and double back and move into the right position to even avoid the attack part of it quite often. Didn't land my first hit until like 45-60 seconds into the match.
I've gone against some pretty solid survivors that know how to counter Ghoul as well. Four stack SWF's all with MFT + Resilience, which is becoming more and more common btw. Depending on the map layout, you just can't afford to chase deep wounded survivors cause of those two perks alone. Let alone if they have any exhaustion perks or anti tunnel. I think people just aren't used to the new killer is all. Only time will tell I think, killer is definitely strong & buggy but uncounterable? I'm not so sure.

He definitely needs nerfed. A longer cooldown and louder sound cue when they cancel Kagune Leaps at the very least. Alongside fixing the Kagune Lunge auto aim..
-
I've played as, and against The Ghoul quite a bit (currently prestige 11 as them)
So, here's how I would change The Ghoul to make them fun and balanced to play against, while keeping the quality that make them fun, which is the mobility. Some of, if not most of these suggestions are from other people on this forum.
1. Increase the Kagune Leap cooldown.
2. Decrease the time the Kagune Mark's cooldown will last on a survivor after they mend. Therefore, less Enraged Mode time.
3 Decrease the range the Kagune Leap can grab survivors.
4. Make the sound cue when The Ghoul cancels their Kagune Dash louder. Pretty much like what they did with Xenomorph's Tail Strike audio cue. You can hear when they cancel Kagune Leap if you listen close, but it's too quiet the way it is right now.
5. Definitely rework the Yamori's Mask and Rize's glasses add-ons.

There's definitely a whole lot more tweaks and fixes this killers needs, however.

I like it personally. It's immersive to me. The red sheen/aura makes it clearer that I'm enraged (on top of the different hand pose) and it also just feels good to have. I feel more intimidating.
It's nice
Honestly I'm kind of mixed on it. I guess it's fine the way it is.
-
Didn't even know this was a thing until I saw this post. I'm glad this is something they chose to doπ
-
Maybe they can make the sound queue louder when he cancels his Kagune Dash for a start. It seems too quiet for how important it is for his kit. Kind of like what they did with Xeno's Tail Strike.
-
Honestly I'm not sure how they're gonna nerf Ghoul without making them unfun to play, cause the speed and mobility make him fun.
While the canceling of Kagune dashes to get m1 hits (which is too quiet imo) is about one of the only two ways of anti loop he has after he injures a survivor, alongside vaulting obstacles with his Kagune.
Which depending on the map, doesn't even do much, since the survivor makes it to another tile before you can get the m1. Keyword m1. Faster vaulting speed during Enraged Mode or not.
Now everyone is calling for nerfs not even a few days after the killers been out. So, Ghoul is probably going to be one of those killers that gets over nerfed every patch until no one wants to play them anymore. Twins is better than this killer by a long shot imo, yet oddly no one really cares to complain about that.
Like I said before, if there are no strong killers being released, people are only going to stick to the ones that ARE strong.
Back to Nurse and Blight factory line we go π’

Because it's intentional. Concessions were made.
Let me explain:
The nature of his power necessitates the hit going through if you're around a corner or behind a gen because it has a travel time. It's like how Huntress hits you right before you round a corner, that's still a legitimate hit, it just doesn't have a delay. Because Kaneki's power has a delay, it LOOKS weird, but it needs to be this way because there are only two alternatives:
1. He just lets you go after he *already lands the hit* on you because it "doesn't look correct"
2. He vacuums you back around the corner to "make the hit look better" and make you lose more distance in the process.
In the first scenario, it feels terrible to play, and in the second scenario, it feels *even worse* to play against than the average player currently perceives it to be.
The hit is perfectly fine as-is in my opinion. There were concessions that had to be made in terms of "feel" because Kaneki doesn't damage you immediately (again, like with my Huntress example.) He hits you around the corner because he locked onto you BEFORE you rounded the corner.
There were indeed concessions that had to be made in terms of "feel" because Kaneki doesn't damage you immediately (again, like with my Huntress example.) He hits you around the corner because he locked onto you BEFORE you rounded the corner.
It is 100% working as intended.
However, I would certainly be down with reducing the duration of his enrage animation while also reducing the amount of time that the survivor is stationary.
With all due respect, this killer is bound to have bugs with their power the way it is. I mean, Wesker still has bugs to this day and how long has he been out? Years by this point.

I have yet to see a ghoul be screwed over by resi and MFT and I've been watching a good one for a while now. What's the MFT gonna do when Kaneki has pre nerf chucky scamper? Or they're just on your back with umbrella decreasing the fatigue by 10%. Or the addons that just reveal survivors auras for free basically.
Fair enough. The Ghoul might honestly be S tier at this point. They are definitely going to receive the Chucky treatment soon, even though The Ghoul's aren't shorter than a box, they can't down with their power, nor can they have base kit undetectable. This killer is a little busted, but I still just think the game needs more killers that are strong, and don't turn into push overs that get left on the bench imo.

@GlamourousLeviathan said:
In my opnion, he seems like a hard noob stomper, kinda like Skull Merchant pre nerf. I have been getting the most wild ranges of results with him, which made me come to that conclusion. If you get mid-level survivors or lower, you absolutely stomp them like no other killer, on the other hand, if you get good survivors you are getting stomped like a Myers on The Game map, there is no in-between.
His counterplay is based around you not getting found out-positioned, since you can't really hold shift W against him. If the survivors are not letting themselves get found around deadzones, and are constantly going from loop to loop forcing him to play as a M1 killer, then there is not much he can do, unless it is a really long loop, in which case he can cancel his power mid-leap.
Overall, I would place him as a high D tier killer, or a low C.
If Ghoul is in Enraged Mode and a survivor drops a pallet or vaults a window, injured or not, The Ghoul can use the kagune tendrils to hit the survivor on the other side, which pulls you towards them, gives them hindered to slow them down, and makes you vault the obstacle faster than just pulling yourself towards the obstacle normally or vaulting normally.
It usually guarantees the m1 hit if there isn't another tile really close by. You have to be in Enraged mode, and the kagune tendrils have to hit the survivor on the other side of the pallet or window/vault to get the increased vaulting speed from the kagune tendrils.
Basically like Wesker's virulent bound vaulting, but you have to aim at the survivor on the other side of vaults/windows, and dropped pallets with the kagune tendril's cross hair, and then pull yourself towards them by hitting them, instead of just virulent bound rushing at the dropped pallet, or window like Wesker does.
This killer is an easy A tier for sure, and I'm starting to think this killer might be closer to S tier than I originally thought they were.
The more I play as Ghoul and against them, the more I'm sure they're definitely getting nerfed, but how bad? Only time will tell.
-
Honestly, I don't like the red glow on their model either. It makes it easier to tell when Ghouls are in enraged mode but I think the tendrils glowing red are telltale sign enough. Just like how Myers changes how he holds his knife in tier 3. it's simple but it still provides the info.

That's his skill expression though. It doesn't need "fixing"
Yeah, that's like saying Wesker shouldn't be able to toss people who are out positioned into corners/dead zones to guarantee downs. People will still stand by that sentiment to this day, too.
-
@Brimp said:
Yeah hes pretty insane. Free injury, can't greed against him, can't W away because he will cut you off with his grapple. Borderline blight level and possibly past. Oh yeah deep wound just to throw it in there too.
If they don't make more strong killers, people are only going to gravitate towards the killers that are still strong regardless. IMO, I think S tier for a killer that can't down with their power is a bit too high. Pretty much every S tier killer can injure and down with their power instead of only one of those things. The perks Made For This and Resilience can mess with Ghouls pretty hard,.and those two perks are solo queue friendly as well so pretty much anyone can use them and get benefits against Ghoul players. I think this killer just needs time to settle to find out for sure but I'd say A tier at best.
-
I'd say this killer is A tier. The perks Resilience and made for this are pretty good against ghouls too, so there's some counter play atleast. Also, there's no way to down with your power, which is something pretty much every S tier killer can do.
-
This is happening with Kindred as well. Exactly as described above.

I thought so too but apparently it's not the case. I don't know if I should create a separate bug report or not since I don't own the console.
I think if you did, they'd just mark it as duplicate.

This is also an issue on the PS5 Pro. My brother owns the PS5 Pro and he shows me how fuzzy and blurry it looked the same thing that the images you represent here.
Really? I thought it was an Xbox series only issue but I guess it affects different platforms after all.

Here's a few screenshots from when I went against a Clown player. Here you can see how blurry and pixely the afterpiece tonic clouds are.

You have to wait for the animation of pointing to fully play out before you move your survivor, otherwise the challenge won't count. I was having trouble with this challenge too and that's what solved it.

Here's another couple of screenshots I took a few minutes ago.
The first images are with FSR turned on and at 100% sharpness.
The copy image below the first ones are with FSR toggled off.
The resolution problem is worse with FSR toggled off.

it genuinely hurts my eyes and itβs been an issue for almost 2 months now. They are actively losing the series s playerbase how has this not been patched yet. Rediculous
We just have to hope they fix it in the next patch, they fixed it when it happened before so we have that sliver of hope at least.

The more people that upvote the bug report, the better chance we have of BHVR noticing it and working on a fix if they haven't already.

@JhonyYeagerBR said:
Here It's still blurry here, for you too? How long it takes to solve something simple
Yeah, it's still blurry and fuzzy for me. BHVR probably has too much on their plate to be worrying about console specific bugs right now, so the best thing we can do is just be patient, wait and hope they fix it soon. Not much else we can do I'm afraid.

Game development is probably hard when there's so many accounts, skins, characters, perks, and maps.

This also happens to the blighted pig skin

I understand that you killer main but say that Wraith addons are fine is just ridiculous. They extramly annoying and undeserved powerful, he is desperatly need addon pass (please make them like Freddy/Pyramid Head addons). Plus hes not deserved map pressuere and anti-loop cause how annoying he is, so speed boost should gone for good.
So you're saying to make wraiths add-ons useless?
The only reason pyramid head gets away with it is because he's actually a strong killer unlike Freddy AND Wraith...
-
I've seen plenty of times where it was barely a 25% bonus to killer or survivor... and also times where there was no bonus at all. The more you play that role with the bonus, the lower the bonus gets is what I've noticed.
-
Pyramid head has veen able to do the same thing and it's perfect fine. Don't unhook people in front of the killer. If he camps, run reassurance or do generators.
-
Unless a survivor is about to turn a corner, don't charge your demon strike for too long, as it will give the survivor more time to either juke you or run to a safe spot. So you want to try to hit them as soon as your demon strike glows red. Also remember that the strike has increased lunge range, so most attacks you would have fallen short of you will hit with ease. The rest is just reading the survivor and muscle memory. I'm not a great oni player myself but I hope this helps you!
