Honestly posts like yours are truly unbearable. I've never seen a community so split by hate mobs on both sides since WoW. One thing I've noticed about these forums is that killers are WAY more active/vocal. For me though it's still an EZ bully life as a survivor. I'll be taking your lunch money sooner or later.

That's because even the Survivor labeled forum is just used for people to complain about survivor things they hate (which seems like something a moderator should crack down on, but whatever) which means there's literally nowhere you can post as a survivor without someone jumping down your throat. The same is honestly true for the DBD reddit now too. If you want to participate in the community, you can't be a survivor.

The same can be said about killers in other parts of the forum.

I played WoW for many years and the players were never, ever, as toxic as both sides on here can be. Yes, killers too. But overall, the killers are for more civilized than the survs.

The later years were far less toxic, but there was true hate between the factions in vanilla. Best gaming years of my life kiting Lord Kazzak to stormwind. Also you've seen too much Ochido. Survivors aren't all a bunch of memers trying to get the killer to disconnect.

what? you claim the community is split, and then proceed to say you will bully killers?

these rank20 randos sure like to talk lol

Ask yourself if your response disproved or confirmed my fundamental argument.

you didnt have an argument. you came here salty about the changes and attempted to claim you were going to bully killers, then got laughed at for it.

like i said, these rank20 randos sure like to talk.

My argument was, regardless of the changes, people find a way to bully. Also that this community is spilt to hell.

  • Killer is boring now, it's way too easy.

Well, there not really puppets that’s just what they were called. Charles really made mannequins. The name Puppet comes from the idea that Charle’s soul is Puppeting the mannequine, by possession. The strings on his arms though can be taken off if it seems confusing. Thanks for the feedback though. 😁

Ahhh I see. Either way I love this killer idea. Pretty good job so far.

  • I like the concept art. My only criticism would be this; A string puppet with the size of a killer doesn't make alot of sense. A puppet that size would be awkward to use and impractical. That being said, I could easily suspend disbelief and justify it by rationalizing it with the idea that this puppet is a kind of toy controlled by the entity itself or something. If you already suggested that rationale then I'm sorry I didn't read the whole post lol. Excellent work. You should do more concept art.

  • Survivors aren't OP.

but my thought is - if enough survivors and killers come to the realization that we need the other to play this game, maybe we won't be so quick to walk all over the other one each time the opportunity presents itself.... i know empathy is a survivor perk.... but its amazing how few survivors actually have it.... and killers too, for that matter....

Wanting everyone to come to an understanding seems like more of a pipe dream than balancing the game.

  • @deadwolfwalking said:
    @DreadfulProton

thats where this forum becomes beneficial.... instead of reworking necessary and vital components of a game that we all love, we can discuss things and maybe come to an understanding that certain ppl need to change.... not perks or maps or items....

Well, that's just fundamentally incorrect. The benefit of the forum is to share ideas and help the devs with balancing the game. Most ideas are terrible but it's the gems that devs definitely consider.

camping is a subjective term. its in relation to other survivors.... if they're close, you're 'guarding the hook'. if they're far away, you're 'wasting your time'.... 'camping' is just a dirty label made for survivors to shame killers into doing what they want....

Yes. And "toxic" is a misused label killers use for survivors who use the tactics made available by the devs to out play the killers. There are legitimate reasons to camp as killer for sure. But camping your first hook with no one else near you is not only a waste of time, but rightfully labelled as camping. The glorious moment when the pig downs the first survivor, tea bags, then camps, should in no way be frowned upon lol.

    you're absolutely right....

    Yes, I know.

  • And this is where the word "toxic" should be used. I don't understand OP either. Frankly it's amazing to me that this community uses the word "toxic" when referring to survivors effectively using their tools to outplay the killer. In every other gaming community the term "toxic" refers to someone with a terrible attitude and consequently makes the game less fun for others. In other words, toxic is in reference to character, not outplaying your opponent.

  • I could be wrong but I feel like this would split the community even more.

How convenient. Sounds to me you have no proof. Which is a shame because I would also like to see this apparently "common knowledge". I guess the knowledge is so common that its invisible like water is to a fish. Golgi was clear on the terms of your surrender and it seems you've been beaten by a simple request for information lol.

At one point perhaps someone would ask themself...why are the devs only making incentives to choose to not camp instead of punishing camping like you all want and whine and beg for?

It could be because the devs did design camping into the game from day 1, it could be because indeed, the devs tried once during the 1.4 era where the game almost died due to infinites being unstoppable and the ptb for the camping punishment that made the survivor die slower on the hook the closer the killer was too the hook, well as is common knowledge by anyone who played that PTB or during that era of darkness for the game, It was quickly found and brought too the devs in mass that survivors were forcing the killer to stay at the hook while the others did the gens, thus enforcing camping and a survivor on hook to not have anyway of playing, After this PTB was ended, the devs made a statement that camping will not ever be punished as survivors will abuse any form of punishment put in but only give killers the choice by making incentives for them to choose to camp or not.

You can doubt anyone and everyone who knows this information but at some point you must be finding yourself wondering...why is camping not getting punished like we keep begging for?

I'm not among those who beg for punishment for camping. I was simply interested in what tests had been taken to alleviate the issue of face camping. I asked the forum the other day if this test had taken place and when it happened. Someone was kind enough to provide enough information to narrow down my search and I found what you're talking about. However I'm not convinced that face camping was intended by design rather than a consequence of the design of the game. In otherwords, in that ptb you refer to, it was not intended by design that survivors abused the punishment system but rather a consequence of how the system was designed. Likewise, I doubt it was intended by design for killers to camp but rather a consequence of how the game was designed.

  • I agree. There's almost no reward for the 4% chance of escape. It rarely happens and when it does it usually only helps if the killer isn't camping and your teammates are still alive.

Yes, the survivors abused it. It could easily be tweaked to prevent that...but meh. Yeah it’s been tested.

Where can I find the devs talking about this? How long ago did this take place?

Very long time ago, in the very first dev streams. You can find them on YouTube.

Thanks buddy. I appreciate the answer.

Please post the link to this extended hook time in ptb.

It's really just common knowledge except for the braindead.

Rude. What's really braindead is stating "facts" without citing evidence. If your statement is true then you should have no problem proving it. If your next response is anything other than proof then I'll consider that an admission of defeat. Show me.

No reason to admit defeat, not my fault your on the forums and purposely forget common known information.

Ca'nt argue with a brick wall though either so even if I posted evidence here , I doubt you'd remember it the next forum your posting on as well like anyone else who is dumb enough to ask for evidence on common sense at this point.

And if you need an easy way to get evidence, post a discussion asking about it, you'll get more replies with common knowledge and heck maybe even some twitch stream links of it.

  • I understand the necessity for a change in how the hatch works. However I disagree with the changes currently in testing. On the one hand in its current state it makes escaping as the last survivor frustratingly easy when you consider the killers perspective. So, this game being asymmetric, I understand how it seems unfair to the killer. Some of OP's suggestions are valid I'd say, especially when you consider there are other ways that survivors are being disadvantaged. Pallet loops are also getting nerfed, as well as a reduced number of pallets all together (Which was implemented a few months ago). I know that by the nature of the game survivors are supposed to be at a disadvantage, but all of these things ontop of this hatch change, it seems like too much of a disadvantage.

If face camping is considered a viable and legitimate strategy, then they must not feel the same about looping considering the change they are making to it. Also consider the doctor, that killer and many perks that dont involve the doctor make stealth nearly impossible. Its no wonder survivors are upset about the hatch and loop change.
