  • That supossedly happens because you have a bad internet/ connection. I have only noticed an improvement as a survivor and as a killer it's the exact same

  • I mean, I was always tunneling, camping and slugging since survivors give me a lot of opportunities to win a game by doing so but I definitely won't be using moris, I want to win the game myself, not have a braindead easy to use offering do it for me.

Um... I've been playing since before the Nurse released, of course I've seen actual good Nurse players. I've played against them, and watched tournaments with them (as she was the only killer people would play). As well as that, I already mentioned the official tournament, which I watched. You saying I'm mid-tier because you watched two matches of me and assuming the amount of hours that I have in Nurse is extremely dumb, and implying I can't be anywhere near the amount of skill a good Nurse player has unless I participate in tournaments is bogus.

I won't be responding to your next comment, because that's not the topic of this thread.

I never implied that "you can never be anywhere near the amount of skill a good nurse has unless you participate in tournaments". I said you can't be aware of actual good nurses if you never see/ play against them. And its honestly hypocritical to think that you're a toptier nurse with 1k hours in game from what I've seen when there are comp nurses with 2-3k hrs in her alone constantly playing and practicing at the highest possible level.

This should be the end of it.

And what percentage of players play in unofficial tournaments, have the spare time to do so, want to compete against coordinated teams in a game where skilled coordinated teams have an extreme amount of power, or simply wants to? Just because I don't compete against people in tournaments does NOT in ANY WAY make me worse than someone who does, nor does it mean that I overestimate my skill because I don't dedicate my time in this game to playing tournaments that I don't wish to compete in. Most people I play against have more than 1000 hours in this game, and I know that because I like to see during the endgame tally screen.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but stop pushing the idea of only being top-tier if you compete in tournaments onto me just because I believe I am top-tier. As well as that, stop trying to get the thread off-topic just because you think so.

I'm just saying that you think you're top tier because if you've never seen actual good nurse players( which are extremely rarely being seen in pubs), you're thinking of yourself higher than you actually are, you're mid tier at best and so am I even if we both have hundreds of hours of nurse experience alone.

Lmao, sure. I can't consider myself a top-tier Nurse player because I don't like to participate in unofficial tournaments, let alone the official one (that was a total disaster). You must be extremely entitled to think that, and I have NEVER called someone entitled unironically before on this forum.

    1. I don't use add-ons at all.
    2. I play against top-tier players because I hardly ever go down to rank 2.
    3. Most survivors I play against are in a coordinated SWF.

I mean, you consider yourself a top tier nurse just because you stomp casual players (keep in mind that the average DBD player is reaally ######### bad) with prob under 1000 hours of game/ killer experience. I also don't use addons, never derank and play against high SWF and have a 95%+ win rate but as soon as I'd go against my ex comp team, i'd get stomped since that's where the actual good players are and that's where you find out your actual skills.

I just think that you have to be really closed minded and entitled if you'd consider yourself a top tier in these circumstances of yours

    RockoRango.ttv

Besides, just because someone isn't a top-tier player doesn't mean that they don't have a say and cannot have valid concerns about the state of Nurse.

I never said your opinion is irrelevant or you can't have concerns about her, I said what I said because I highly doubt that you're a top tier nurse as you think. I watched through a few matches of a VOD and all I've seen is you stomp pub bots and that's just it... you can't consider yourself that when you've never even played against competitive players in a private environment..

Muscle memory doesn't go 'poof', it stays for a VERY long time depending on how many times the neuron connections associated with the action have been stimulated (used). The more they're used, the longer they last and the stronger they are. The fact is that, at the moment, she is extremely buggy and boring for new players because of the insane cooldowns you have to face.

Also, not because I think you're questioning it but because others are implying it, I'm a top tier Nurse player. If you need proof of that, I can give.

I highly doubt you're a top tier nurse player. I am not one even after 3600 hours in the game and ~400hrs in nurse alone. The only top tier nurse players I've ever seen were people with 2000-3000 hrs in nurse alone and only met them in tournaments/ competitive scrims, never in public matches.

It doesn’t matter. The fact is that she has game-breaking bugs, combined with an annoying cooldown regardless of how strong she is. She needs to be looked at further to, at the very least, fix the bugs.

Her bugs aren't gamebreaking tho so I don't see the need for quick fixes. Also, the cooldown really isn't that big of a deal once you get used to it, if they don't have dead hard that is...

  • With how strong she still is, a few bugs aren't gonna ruin the player's experience unlike other unrelated bugs that require faster reaction from the devs. I've played ~50 nurse games in the past few days and I can say that despite the bugs, I still 4ked in more than 45 of them, she's just too strong to care...

  • It's kinda to be expected in a versus game. Both sides can have their bad/unfun matches and it just balances eachothers out.

  • With how easy it is to play her when you have 3400 hours, decent blinks and comp decision making experience, the amount of bugs she has really doesn't affect much. Only time you should lose with such circumstances is against a comp team that plays the match like its a tournament. I'd be ashamed to call myself a nurse main and complain about her needing a buff/ change.

I probably got more hours in her than any other killer and I don't even main her, and still only barely losing 1 match out of 25( lost= someone escaping through the gate).

  • There's absolutely no need to. She is just fine now but people are scared/ too unskilled to play her. With how the ranking system currently works, getting the highest ranked survivors slugged before all gens are completed is inevitable if you're somewhat decent. People just need to get good ;)

Why do people keep thinking BHVR is somehow responsible for, and should honor, players who got their cosmetic through a 3rd party? While its cool you won a tournament, literally no one cares that you won cosmetic codes from it when it wasn't an official BHVR-run tournament, especially since you think that winning said 3rd party tournament, that most players haven't even heard of by the way, earns you some entitlement to said cosmetics.

At least we have earned those cosmetics by versing and winning against high skilled players, not have them given to us for free like all the casual players.

Soooo, all of them were custom tournaments from "random" people of the community? Sorry to say, but you earned nothing. These weren't official tournaments from bhvr. These codes were free in the first place.

Bhvr doesn't really host tournaments themselves, they only give codes for the tournament hosts

  • WLADO93's 2nd DBD Tournament, Jurinko's 4v1 Tournament, The Entity's Curse, many Rite of Ignitions, worked so hard for them and now everybody is gonna have them :)

  • And people that have won tournaments with exclusive prizes and now every casual is gonna have them. Spent 4 weeks to play with my team in a tournament against 20+ teams, won and each of us got PAX codes and apparently that will mean nothing rn, cool. Literally the people that like the change are casuals that had no chance of getting good at the game and getting the exclusives themselves.

  • Very good and needed changes, they are upon the right road. Now it is time for mories and keys

  • It's pretty much the best exhaustion perk in high tier survivor gameplay and tournaments. Opinions usually differ base on the survivor skill: Low tier-SB; Mid Tier-DH; High Tier-SB. I used to think DH was the best but after thousand of hours, I realised that It was just fixing mistakes thay I shouldn't have made, thus how I got a much better survivor now after leaving DH behind.

  • I'm getting instant killer lobbies at rank 1. I used to wait over 10 minutes before. Definitely improved for me

  • 240 yellow flashlights, 175 green batteries. Still low for my own likings.

  • I never use mories or very strong addons

  • I love DbD because, in my opinion, its the best game of this type out there, it has a lot of potential and it seems like the developers care a lot about improving it and adding a lot new more features ( especially the new Rift/ Archives which I'm very excited about) in the upcoming years, while also interacting a lot with the community.

I can't believe I'm still having fun after spending over 2700 hours on this game, especially with the frustrating moments that we are all familiar with and have stumbled upon. One time when I was thinking about leaving the game, I just joined a competitive team where I've made new friends and had a lot of fun in the competitive community, playing tournaments, scrims, and meeting and befriending members of other teams. But unfortunately, the devs said they want to move away from exclusives codes as tournament prizes right as my debut, still though, we've managed to gather up a few tournaments wins and 2nd places, which, even without prizes, have been very fun to play in!

  • PC, 2700 hours, rank 1 both, Dwight-Billy Main, 6000 sacrifices, 3721 escapes, 283.000.000 Bps earned, all characters P3L50. Pretty meh for my hours I guess

  • I used to think that you can't escape a very good nurse main even while playing swf

  • Some killers were also abusing the Tinkerer 2 bug in the past. Did they get banned for it? Can't quite remember.

Just sounds like bad Survivors to me, but I don't wanna make a dumb argument like that. I would like to face against you in the queue one day and see how you fair.

And that's pretty much what I would do anyway. Spots where you get guaranteed medium vaults, you can expect the Killer to double back. Now you simply don't vault at all. If he catches up to you, then that is a mistake you are supposed to take for taking the loop in the wrong direction. You'll have to have more awareness about this kind of thing now.

    I don't think that's a bad thing.

@weirdkid5 There's a very small chance of us playing against eachother so you can watch me play at https://m.twitch.tv/videos/412550558 ( keep in mind this was a 2v2 Sandbag Tournament). My matches start at 2:13:28 and 4:12:00. I had around 1800 hours when these took place. My name is "yo"

I can't say I've ever had a situation where a Killer "reads my vacuum."

Like I said, I've never had issues mindgaming the shack, and I've never used vaulting in this manner. I always assumed you couldn't fast vault if you touched the wall anyway.

But people blast me for thinking realistically lol

I read a lot of early vaults because I've seen the survivor enter a somewhat vaccum animation and I met them at the other side of the 4 lane window for example before they even ended the vault. I also never had any moments where the killer saw me vaccuming because I was vaulting as late as possible but I guess I will go for a guaranteed medium vault now since the killer will realise it and double back anyway..

  • @weirdkid5 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/534770#Comment_534770

You don't have to get sucked into the vacuum, you just need to time it so you don't hit the wall when you press space. This will be akin to hitting a 2 frame in a fighting game or something, difficult, but not impossible. This promotes more skill since you have to time it at a more precise timing, otherwise you get punished with a medium vault. I've honestly never really had problems with the scenario you're presenting but that's just me.

This change overall is a good one because it won't affect windows you can normally fast vault at, while at the same time eliminating the ones that were unintended.

If it turns out some windows that are meant to be fast vaulted get affected, then I will agree that window in particular should be addressed. But we are going to need more than a month to make that conclusion, since there is a a lot of possible human error when it comes to these windows.

Like the case of the streamer someone posted recently, he still could have gotten fast vaults. Imo he purposefully is blowing the problem out of proportion because he doesn't want to SLIGHTLY adapt his gameplay. Just hit space like .05 seconds sooner than when you hit the wall. I don't find that very difficult to adjust.

I created that scenario myself as an example but I haven't experienced it just yet since I didn't play the PTB or survivor that much since the update. I may be overreacting but I'm sure I will adapt.

  • @weirdkid5 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/534732#Comment_534732

I disagree. Having all windows that can be fast vaulted create potential infinite situations. They intended for windows to work how they currently do back when they made the angle change, and even further when they made certain loops longer in certain directions.

Take Rancid Abbatoir for example. If you get the side window, there was potential for that to actually become a true infinite until they made changes to the loop in that direction.

Some loops are meant to be powerful when approached at a particular direction, while getting put in the OPPOSITE direction will cause the Killer to gain more ground, and part of these was forced medium vaults. Getting fast vaults in these spots doesn't really take any skill, you just touch the window and hit space. I'm not really seeing the huge gap in skill this is going to cause. Again, this is basically an exploit. These windows were supposed to always give medium vaults to give the Killer the advantage if they are looped in that direction.

Survivors already have extra breathing room during a loop because their hitbox is smaller. Adding a fast vault with that created situations where Survivors could get near infinites in directions they weren't meant to get. This is because it could break the chase for a moment, which causes the window blockers not to register, since they only accumulate during a chase.

These maze tiles sometimes have two windows, when used in conjunction, even if you get medium vaults, can delay even a good Killer for a decent amount of time. This is one of the main strategies I use. There is nothing stopping players from still getting fast vaults, they just need to press space sooner when checking behind themselves.

And in the cases of places you weren't meant to get them, now it works properly. If it had a counter play I would agree with you, but it doesn't. Hours don't really mean anything imo. I have less than 1k hours, but I've played the same way ever since Day 1. I've never had to adapt my playstyle to changes of the game due to the nature in which I play.

This allows me to defeat Killers with many more hours than I do because I play very non traditionally, and can catch a lot of veteran Killer players off guard. This is why these changes aren't really bad to me, because it doesn't affect how I play. I could see if you were used to how it was before, but you need to realize how it was before wasn't meant to be how it is. This actually requires Survivors to use MORE skill. You will have to develop strategies that are unorthodox that do not rely on janky mechanics to work in your favor.

I mean, yeah, we are probably over reacting to the vault changes since, I at least, can change my routing to play safe without the need to get a fast vault, I've been hit a lot of times because I went fot a fast vault and I got a medium one instead. The thing that I dislike the most is that the killer can be behind me at the killer shack and I have to press space early enough to get a fast vault and enter the vaccum, and ofc he will see the vaccum and double back to the other side of the window and I'm just watching him doing that, incapable of doing anything about it.

Also, it CAN create infinites but at the already very broken windows that should be fixed in particular and not change such a big mechanic.

  • As you said that "getting a fast vault from a spot you were meant to get a medium vault doesn't have a counter", imo there shouldn't be windows that can't be fast vaulted ( not taking in consideration the obviously broken windows of the most main buildings that I don't understand why they are still staying the same after so long). Think about the "4 lanes" maze tile that is already somewhat weak against a decent killer and you can't fast vault the window of the 2 possible spawns from the side opossed to the pallet, before, the survivor could have been rewarded if got a fast vault or outplayed if the killer was expecting that. That had a big impact on shack as well when played at very high levels. Imagine that good killers couldn't mindgame me at shack, which made it a very good loop for me, but it was still possible by very good killers and this takes us to 2 of the very big problems of the game: The matchmaking/ ranking system. I got well over 2k hours and I get matched with killers under 1k, obviously I'll destroy them, but when I get matched with killers of my hours, things somewhat balance out.

What part of "it was unintentional" do you guys not get?

If you touch the wall, you get the medium vault. It shouldn't be hard to press space slightly sooner. And the areas that you weren't supposed to be able to fast vault got fixed.

It doesn't matter if no one asked for it. They realized they made a mistake and fixed it.

Time to actually use some skill, cause looping takes none.

Big spins and moonwalk were unintentional as well but they decided to leave them since they raise the skill cap and reward good survivors for pulling them off.

And you are somewhat right, looping debris/barrels on maps like autohaven takes no skill, but that definitely changes at jungle gyms( especially TL walls) and certain dropped pallets, where imo it takes a lot of skill to play correctly and outplay your oponent's mindgames.

  • I agree. Old fast vaults raised the skill cap that is already not very high in this game and..they just lowered it again.. How often did you see a survivor fast vault the cow tree window from the other side? Very very rarely in my experience, and by that move, I could tell that individual is very skilled, I was struggling to fast vault it even at 2.3k hours, you can tell how much skill that took. I assume that was a bandaid to nerf the very long windows like the ironworks window and such, instead of fixing the main buildings themselves.

  • The game was also very unfun for me as a survivor in the past few days. Full of OmegaBlink Nurses and strong killers with the strongest possible addons and teammates that can't hit ruin skillchecks and spend the entire game looking for the hex. I'd rather play as killer against SWF than solo survivor rn..

  • They could make Noed base(only the instadown part) and add a totem counter. This way, survivors still have the choice to do the gens fast but being one hit after the last one pops or they can slow down a little and cleanse all totems but not being one hit. This ofc as a bandaid fix before they add another main objective like gathering generator parts etc.

  • Dweard. I dropped my dream of having Legacy Dwight since It isn't coming back but I have hopes of winning a tournament, giveaway or get Dweard some way, not got it in 2 years/ 2.2k hours of gameplay but I still have hope :)

  • The fact that they even put so much work, money and love in making something like this is so great and respectable. They are one of the very few dev teams that care that much about their community and they definitely don't get the appreciation they deserve.

  • 2 minutes at rank 1 on PC(EU) for me

  • Do you have any plans to remove/ fix moonwalking and 360ing as survivor? They raise the skill ceiling a lot and it would be a shame to see them gone.

  • He just requires skill to play now, thats all. He is definitely not dead.
