Sorry to ride the trend but like other people now that it is becoming popular i'm seeing it more and more. 2 games in a row against pig was afk kills. Me and one other survivor couldn't get the trap off because we were "unlucky" so i just took the L on it. Like people ride tombstone for being bad but at least michael needs to do something for it. Its minimal but it's something. This one i can get a 4k by doing literally absolutely nothing. Maybe rework the red addon into something more interesting or put contigencies on it? Idrk how you'd fix this problem.

Ah, now to abuse this just like boil over.

My point is that 90 degrees is too much. It's good that console isn't at a disadvantage anymore - didn't realize - but that's not the reason for the complaint.

Why? It still has plenty of counter play

Correction: It needs to have a hard maximum far below 90 degrees, closer to what one can perform on a controller. It doesn't make sense to design a killer power around needing to bounce and then giving him that much control over his path mid-rush.

I can show you clips of on controller, he can turn 90 on controller after his console buff. He's where he should be.

There are exactly two non-add-on-related things I would change about Blight.

    1) Insane turning radii via DPI switch should not be a thing. The turning radius should have a hard maximum.

    2) The radius for his wall-bouncing sound effect has got to only be like 16m. It should be wider than that. Before I realized this I'd frequently get points for breaking chase, hear nothing, and then take a smack out of nowhere. It's all the more common given how many Tinkerer Blights there are.

It's 90 degrees a frame, me and a few friends tested it on 2k and 18k dpi with him almost throwing his mouse off his desk both times.

I still don't want to play killer anymore, I've stopped a few months ago, but unfortunately, the tomes rarely have a path that allow you to progress through its levels purely playing survivor, so I played some killer games again, and got a taste of why I stopped in the first place.

I had a Dwight on the hook during endgame collapse. He got unhooked by the survivor I knew had borrowed time, so I countered by waiting 20 seconds to hit Dwight, the gate was far enough away for that. When BT ran out, he used DH in the gate, since I positioned myself ahead of him, he dead-harded away from the entity spikes, allowing me to down him and pick him up before he could reach the escape threshold. He then used DS and escaped.

What should I have done here? They told me afterwards that with the right counters, their perks are perfectly fine. What counters are there? This was the epitome of "#########, I screwed, but let's press this button to reverse my mistake, so the killer can't win".

He was unhooked unsafely --> Borrowed Time fixed that.

I waited out his Borrowed Time --> Dead Hard fixed that.

I screwed up his Dead Hard --> Decisive Strike fixed that.

I got 3 second chance perks shoved in my face back-to-back and some people still defend this bullshit as being fair? I did everything right here and I was still punished for it. This stuff leaves an extremely sour aftertaste. I don't feel outplayed or outmatched in skill when the survivor skill is basically: press a button to fix your mistakes.

    Just get luckier

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

Yes I said it, he takes no skill and is perhaps the most braindead killer in DBD. Let’s go over a few reasons why.

    • He’s a 4.6 movement speed Killer with with arguably the best base kit power and mobility in the game.
    • He’s Anti-Loop because of the exploits he can do in game to get hits that should not be possible.
    • He has some of the most broken add-ons in the game.

I just don’t understand how the devs haven’t done anything about him yet to be honest. You can’t sit here and tell me “he takes skill” or anything similar to that. Because looking down at an object before rushing and flicking your mouse just is Soo hard right? And that’s not even explaining his busted add-ons…. Whats that? You hit a survivor with your power and they made good distance on you? Don’t mind it cause your alchemist ring and blighted crow will let you catch up and down them again in about 4 seconds. Yup a whole 2 health states in the span of 10 seconds just cause of 1 add-on. What’s that? Your tinkerer went off? Don’t worry just rush to the gen in no time and let ruin take care of it. What’s that? You can’t hit a survivor with your power at a loop or tile? Don’t worry just point your head down at the wall or an object before you rush and you can slide away and flick. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Good Job BHVR.

May I ask to see you play blight?

    Here's the situation.

You queue up on killer. You get a lobby pop with 4 survivors waiting. Checking profiles, you notice that 3 of them have private profiles, with a recent VAC ban on record.

    Do you dodge?

I saw a Meg with a twitch shirt and a private account, I dipped real fast.

That's a reasonable way of explaining it, you made some solid points. I'd like to say, thank you for your time

I think the fighting game comparison is a bit shaky but the overall logic behind it makes sense. There's def a lot to learn with Blight I'm not disagreeing there - it is a game of reactions, that's why I have a bit of a gripe with his movement speed addons as that reduces the window to make reactions, if that makes sense?

I sometimes think people overstate how hard he is to play, you said yourself he's easy to start and do okay with and maybe that's enough for a lot of people? Would a lot of Blight players still do well if they played perkless and had to rely purely on their knowledge and strength with the killers power? I'm not sure, I know I would struggle for sure.

I can't say it felt necessary for myself to learn the techs and such to do well with him, I just played him 'normally' which I think using Blight terminology is just bump logic right?

A lot of the techs are stuff were often said to be mainly about showing off or just for fun, not intergral to playing Blight well.

Hug tech is pretty strong Honestly, I think blight with gen regression is really strong because it feels like some of it was almost made for him. Pop? Zoom to the gen. Scourge pain? See scream? Zoom to gen and etc etc.

Unfortunately video evidence won't change how playing a character subjectively feels to me, that is why I posted the question in the first place to get the opinions of other people. Maybe I feel like Blight is easy, for one reason or another.

There's nothing stopping me from just playing Blight over and over with the strongest stuff until I 4k decisively and then posting that as some epic rebuttal to your post but that's silly and has nothing to do with what I asked

Do you think Blight is easy to play and not as hard as people say? Please, give me your thoughts if you have the time of course.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2784051#Comment_2784051

A movement ability that you can land hits with very consistantly. Blight has room for error and correction because he has multiple tokens; he can continually bounce on surfaces and wait for survivors to move or if he misses, he can correct that with the use of only one token. Nurse has only 2 blinks which makes the room for error much shorter compared to Blight

As for your comment about the Addons, which ones are you referring to then? Because as far as I know those addons were all removed when she got 'reworked' to have a blink token system.

The purple distance addon? Is that the one that supposedly allows her to move faster/appear faster and such?

I think blight is more like nurse, not in the difficulty category but in how you'd learn it.

Let's use a fighting game to describe it, you can know your opponent is about to grab you but if you don't know the proper way to respond on your reaction then you'll get stomped.

I think blights the same way, sure you can know what to do when and then the issue of execution comes in. Along with that, sometimes a survivor just does something you didn't even consider and it messes up the chain.

I believe he's hard to master, as in Learn every tech and way to play each tile. To start off he's not nearly as bad as nurse but with 2 people trying to perfect it blight has more to master imo.

Tldr: blight is easy to start and do ok with. However trying to get him down and really doing the more advanced things is what makes him hard.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2783212#Comment_2783212

People aren't playing nurse as much atm because when they re-did the code to make her smoother and have less bugs - there's still a couple of issues that need to be ironed out, mainly surrounding the 2nd blink bug which I imagine will be fixed in a hotfix. Potentially tomorrow

On the topic of Blight, can I just pose a question to my fellow thread goers

Is Blight really as hard to play as everyone says he is?

Because from my experience playing him as well as seeing other people play him, he doesn't seem that hard at all. His power's hurtbox feels extremely generous and couple that with movement speed addons, a survivors time to react is severely hindered

Also the issue of perk variety - As much as facing a good nurse is frustrating at least Nurse players don't all run the same 4/5 perks. Many do, but you'll also see Nurses running off-meta, fun or otherwise perks as well.

May I ask to see some of your blight gameplay?

    You cant have both.

You cannot really complain about Survivors running the same Perks and complain that Survivors are running different Perks at the same time. This just boils down to "Survivors are not allowed to have anything else than useless Meme-Perks".

The meta is extremely boring, most people would agree on that for both sides. That doesn't make a perk that has become common to abuse for an almost impossible to hook scenario is ok lol.

I'm devotion 13, I know what I'm talking about. PC gamers will never know what it's like to play with low fps, lags, crashes that we face on consoles. But the problem is my inexperience, for sure.

I played blight on console before I switched. I know how awful it is.

  • @JR_Junior said:

I don't understand why this killer is so OP and nobody says anything. The turns he makes are absurd, practically impossible to escape. And why doesn't his power have a cooldown? Honestly facing any player with the least skill with this killer is very frustrating. A killer with high mobility and easy damage. Amazing how this game is so unbalanced.

    Bad bait.

  • Dpi doesn't effect flicks anymore, sure you can be better with higher but you're capped at 90 per frame.

Me and some friends tested it with 2k dpi and 18k.

Are you referring to the hug tech? It only works because half of the maps on the game don't have proper Collison, imo its fine as long as he can't collide with an entire loop or rock in a lot of cases.

Moonrushing is, I mean you could whine about it but it has the same downsides as moonwalking.

One thing that's interesting is, if we're gonna talk about exploits then we're gonna use your idea of them.

Something being used that wasn't intended, 360s, Myers lack of Collison being used to avoid body blocks and things that are part of the game but weren't exactly intentional.

Hug tech isn't something almost guarantees a down, it's not something braindead like dead harding for distance.

But yeah, unintended means people should be called exploiters, because nothing else is commonly used yet unintended, right?

  • @landromat said:

I don’t think you’ve understand what I am trying to imply. Nobody is complaining, rather forming a discussion about annoyance from this build. I played against this only twice, all matches we won, but it’s worth to mention that the map was on our side as well as other factors.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721267#Comment_2721267

You’re not nerfing the functionality of the perk, rather changing the possible unintentionallity. The perk is very underrated.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2720813#Comment_2720813

As I’m not a killer main, 3k on “4 stack” with comms is very bold statement from you. I would be down for that, with some rules inside.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721117#Comment_2721117

This means that you shouldn’t change stuff just because something isn’t played often at the highest MMR? Most people play at lower MMR and it’s not just because they are bad, rather it’s because that this MMR system is bad

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2721068#Comment_2721068

I wanna see this ultra strong pinhead, would you mind playing against my 4 stack? Since he's super strong we should be able to bring the best stuff and you should at least 3k.

Very committed and long time Bligh main here, and I have to say, as much as I love doing it, Blight flicking is not fair for a couple reasonable. First of all, it makes most of the tiles unplayable for survivors, especially when running Blighted Crow.

Secondly, it put PC players "richer" (I don't mean rich people, just players who can afford to spend a lottle bit more than others) people at an advantage, let me explain: The first thing I mentioned is pretty easy, controllers can't do that, so if you're a console player you can't do that. The second reason is that in order to Blight flick (as far as I know) you need some specific features on your mouse, such as a sensitivity clutch and of course, only more expensive mice have that (since you also need a decent mouse software too). I'm currently using a Basilisk v2 with a button that higher my DPI only when and while it's pressed from 600 to 1200. I know that you could apply the same logic to PC components, that the better your computer is, the more frames you have, the better you can perform, but let's just not extend this privileges more :).

    Blights capped at 90.

1 or 2k is enough for me. When I get survivors without tunnling them I'm having a blast.

Both the forums and the subreddit always were quite killer sided, treating killers like the underdogs while survivors as the big bad villain, but recently this has been worst than ever.

These forums have mostly become an echo chamber for killers who want the game to be shaped around them.

Like yes, I understand that this game is survivor sided, meaning that if both sides try their hardest and play almost perfectly, the survivors will mostly win.

But that doesnt mean yall can just act as if people who play survivor are the scum of the earth.

And holy hell, if the devs really decide to follow the general consensus of the forums, all matches would be a 4K at 5 gens.

The way some of yall get so offended by somebody's virtual avatar crouches over and over again.

Even I have gotten quite stressed because of this game, but I have never, never, never put blame on the survivors or the devs, because, as you so often repeat, "They bought the game, they play how they want"

Recently, almost every post has a variation of "survivor easy and no stress, so survivor players are babies. Killer hard and have stress, so killer players are oppressed".

If killer is so hard, then go play survivor and try it out. If you say it's easy and stress free, there are three things that could make you say that. 1.Low MMR for the skills you have 2.You stress yourself when playing killer. 3. You're lying.

Many times, when you're having a stressful time playing a game, all you need to do is relax and remember, its just a game, and the results don't matter.

But it seems that too many of you have put hours into getting better, and feel you deserve results, and therefore if you dont get those results, you'll feel cheated, which causes you to stress.

Yes, sometimes the game really is unfair, or atleast feels very unfair. But most of this unfairness is created by your expectations.

Hell, for some time i had quit DBD when i had around 700 hours in the game. Because I thought I deserved to win almost every match. And that simply wasn't true.

I play around 70% killer and 30% survivor if it matters.

    Alright, rant over

I don't mind survivors or anything.

I mind people who say being in a stack isn't an advantage. There's nothing wrong with playing w friends, but don't act like it's not the strongest thing in the game. You know?

Now I have to wait in another 10 min queue while the killer gets no penalty at all for intentionally starting the match and dcing during loading. Yet I get a penalty if I dc the last hook because some killer double tunnel and camped the hook on me just to let them know how I feel about their gameplay. How does your system of fairness make any sense whatsoever? At the very least a disconnected load should give the people who didn't disconnect an instant queue.

Sorry for the rant, but as someone who probably has more bias towards killer than survivor, I really get annoyed hearing that SWF is off limits.

I did the killer challenge without tunneling, camping AND with only 1 gen regression perk. No stacking Ruin with Pop. The games were pretty easy. If you're losing then it's probably your skill added with camping and tunneling just to win. This game is really balanced but 1 bad Survivor can ruin a survivor's team from winning. 15 hours of killer streams total and 5 hours of Survivor to show the difference and BOTH Iri.

I mean, you down to play against me and my stack?

  • It's flawed, the ability to ignore a down mid loop is pretty dumb. Imagine if the killer could just jump over a pallet every 4 0 seconds, pretty fair right? And immediately lunge as well along with you being able to do nothing to stop it. But you can bait them to do it randomly ig

BHVR does not need to do this to gain Data. They did it with Bloodlust, because Bloodlust exists in every game as a base mechanic. So they needed to disable it to gain Data without it.

If they want to look at No Exhaustion-Perks, they can look at games and Survivors without Exhaustion Perks.

If they want to look at No Gen Regression, they can look at games where the Killer is not using Ruin/PGTW/whatever.

So there would be no point in testing it over a weekend.

And given the last time, some Killers did not even play, the same would happen with No Gen Regression. I mean, some Killers would even have to think about 4 new Perks, you cannot expect that...

It's not about the data, it's about the community as a whole playing without the meta for a little bit

...Ohhhhh. Hah. Okay. My bad. I was boggling.

Huh. Actually that'd be a decent test, though yeah, it's technically data they already have. It would be interesting to see high level play without DH, though. Since at high MMR, every survivor always has an exhaustion perk. Sometimes it's Sprint Burst, but there's always something.

No gen regression would just be pretty miserable, though. It's cemented into the meta for a reason and I don't think no exhaustion would balance it out - you can still loop a killer for minutes using map resources before the Dead Hard comes into play. Games with both of these conditions would be intense, but very fast.

I'm pretty sure this would turn into an All-Nurse weekend at light speed.

I just want to see different perks even if for just a weekend. For everyone

  • @Laluzi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2616419#Comment_2616419

It really wouldn't. No Bloodlust was very bad, but the game was still playable, give or take some near-infinites that could be heartily abussed. No exhaustion would make the game impossible. Infinite Dead Hard, infinite Sprint Burst. Infinite Head On if you want to be super cheeky and stunlock the killer for the whole game. There's nothing even to test here. The killer just flat out cannot catch anyone.

No like no exhaustion perks 🤣🤣 sorry for the confusion
