My Votes
Chapters-
1- Blind Fear, really sets a creepy tone and the addons look solid
2- Final Frontier, Pretty neat teleportation mechanic
3- Buffy the Vampire Hunter, Not really to theme but gotta vote for something.
Theme-
1- Steampunk
2- Legends
3- Undead
-
@csandman1977 when you see this edit in a chapter name for the voting thread
-
@TheUnendingNightmare It is for fun, just trying to keep some sort of structure and competitiveness. The perks are alright but you can't use them for the contest sense not everyone would have the same amount of time to work.
-
@TheUnendingNightmare also contest is ending soon so you might want to add onto your chapter.
Don't really see how Buffy the vampire slayer follows the space theme? Also be sure to avoid these perks you made earlier https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82927/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-survivor-dawn
-
Is there a max to how many tokens you can have? Otherwise this can get op fairly fast.
-
yes its an actual for fun contest
-
Nope sorry. Should put that in the rules to, pretty sure unendingnightmare made the same chapter before aswell. Could just put * removed* If you can't delete post, or come up with something new. @Romey95
-
@Romey95 Your submission wont work, If you read rule 4 it can't be posted elsewhere. Could you remove the link?

Chapter Name: Eldritch Beings
Killer- The Aberrant
Standard killer stats. Tall. 32m. 115% Weapon Short blast of force from head (average weapon reach/lunge)
Power:
Mind Pulse- You spend a short duration focusing your mind to fire a blast of psionic energy over a short distance. Any used pallets get destroyed and generators become damaged, objects that are blocked by terrain are not effected.
Mind Parasite- After knocking down a survivor you can implant them with a parasite. The survivors must find a serum to kill the parasite. Survivors infected by a parasite will begin to see the world start changing, skill checks will become more difficult and the survivor will begin to see imaginary pellets appear around the world. If a survivor dies or gets sacrificed while infected the Aberrant can consume the parasite, after consuming a parasite The Aberrant's base attack increases in range of 15% for each parasite consumed. You begin with 5 parasites and whenever you consume a parasite you regain one.
Perks:
Mind's Wrath: Your alien nature corrupts the mind of survivors. If a survivor stares directly at you for 30/25/20 seconds they scream and reveal their location.
Failure's Wrath: Your preys failures fuels your power. Whenever a survivor fails a skill check you move 15/25/35% faster for 3/4/5 seconds.
Narcissist's Wrath: Whenever your at least 34 meters away from a hooked survivor and they go down a hook phase any survivors not in chase will gain the exposed condition for 15/25/35 seconds.
Survivor- Tycho Brahe
Celestial Map: You can mark generators, exit gates, black locks, and chest by staring at them for 5/3/1 seconds. Whenever you mark an object you can see its aura for 20/28/36 meters.
Secrets of the Entity: You learned how to work around the entity's rules. You can untwine the entity's grasp on the world, when you approach the entities claws you can make a skill check to remove them. In addition you can vault through windows an extra time.
Tweaked Equipment: While your holding a toolbox or a med kit you can begin to make skill checks with it, using an item in this way still consumes its charges. These skill checks are more diffcult and every time you succeed you gain a token. You can spend tokens on skill checks when healing or repairing generators allowing you to automatically succeed.
Map similar to underground complex but with more tentacles

@VoodooMan7995 Thanks for feedback ill make sure to include that info. Not really sure how our moris are the same?
@TheUnendingNightmare Why did you post here? The link to the contest is in the first post.

First draft of my chapter is up. Criticisms appreciated.

Appearance: Tall slimy figure with squid skin, its face has many tentacles hanging over it's mouth. Dressed in moss covered robes and cowl.

Power:
Mind Pulse- You spend a short duration focusing your mind to fire a blast of psionic energy over a short distance. Any used pallets get destroyed and generators become damaged, objects that are blocked by terrain are not effected.

Name - The Fear
"Survivors can not see more than 1 meter away from them. Also, inflicts the deafness status effect." Might want to mention that the survivors that are effected by his power become blinded, this ability seems way to strong for just taping the power button, maybe make the range they can see equal to the killers terror radius? then killer can decrease it with addons? Just more seeing potential rather then an arms length.
"3) You can interact with an object, generator, hook, chest, totem. That object gains a terror radius equal 16 meters. Can be cleansed by survivors. This has 2 uses and both can be active at the same time. Effects persist until cleansed. When cleansed you can use this again. Takes 5 seconds to apply." Really like the idea of this power.
"Silent Demise (or No One Can Hear You Scream)- Survivors don't get an audio notification when someone is put into the dying state or hooked." Other killer perks seem decent but this one is a bit lacking. Maybe it also effects the icon for a little bit?
"Just a Flesh Wound" seems like a better No Mither, guess that's not saying much though
"Crossfoot" without some sort of perk to make getting the killers attention helpful or being able to lose them this seems like a big negative with no boost.
Chapter Name: The Final Frontier Chapter
Unless her power is easier to deploy or something of the sort it is strictly worse than the trappers and the hags. Without some easy way of getting to them (survivors not being able to move/teleporting) the aura is neat but could leave you susceptible to mind games and could be useless if they step on them across the map.
"Saturn's Bars" Does the enter terror radius effect happen every time? or just once per survivor? if so it would probably need a decreased time.
"Red Rust" Seems just like a better Predator also how does the rust mechanic work? do you have to kick the generator first?
"Mars meteor" Neat, Dramatic, but neat
"Face Swap" Does it just choose a random survivors face? how does it deceide? How often? do you take the appearance of their damage state? Does getting damaged removed the face swap?
Also does the survivor have four perks?
-
Sounds great! This is purely fan ran thing so no guarantees it would get into the game. Thanks for your submission. Just got the chance to read them so feed back coming soon.

@8obot1c Sorry votes were already in current contest is over at https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/88560/dead-by-daylight-chapter-contest-in-space#latest

@GeneralSpudmuffin said:
1. Steampunk
2. Undead
Also, a better idea would be to make each category a post on its own, and just count the up-votes
This allows people to show their preference more. Also I'm closing votes on the 18th. Coin flip for tie breaker seems reasonable to me.
-
My votes go to
- Space
- legends/folktells
-
@LCGaster why not? Sure it might not get into the game but it would still be fun just for the community just to make up some ideas and vote on each others, it would help everyone with balancing their ideas and would show how creative people on here are.
@thisgamerulez great ideas! ill be sure to add them
-
@csandman1977 True but it's all just for fun, perks would be included so if they were looking for perks they could just use those.
@thisgamerulez We will have a vote every time a contest starts so it would be the majority of who's interested though we might make it vague.

Unless the infected has some sort of echolocation flashlights should still effect them, maybe make it like the stun reduction? so just a reduction in blinded time. Also Stun reduction is to strong mixed with enduring maybe make it so they don't stack or that the reduced stun time doesn't work with pallets. "Whenever a survivor has two infection counters, they must be fully healed within 75 seconds in order to remove one counter" so they can't go back down to 0? also this time seems a bit short of a duration with it taking 16 seconds to heal them back to full health after you get to them. So are they just suppose to camp the survivor for 75 seconds? Could they just knock the survivor back down and start the countdown again? Also do the survivors take control of the killer or does the game control them? or both if the survivor quits? what if they just don't do anything afterwards? There being multiple killers while losing survivors would make the game much harder.
Fast Mover- Speed is to good even with the 3 hits needed, especially mixed with save the best for last. For reference the speed is .1 faster then Legion's frenzy speed.
Shambler- Speed is .5 slower then survivor so sneaking is mostly completely needed, nearly impossible in a open area. Burrowed time becomes much less viable with only a 6m terror radius. Random chance doesn't mix well with skill based things such as chases, I would recommend dropping the 15% thing, just wouldn't be fun to get sneak attacked and then dying.
Man this is getting long, but wait there's more!
Killer perks
Fueled by Hunger- first of all really cool, With fast mover your speed becomes a bit slower then the trapper (4.6>4.08) and Shambler becomes a tragic 2.8. Would be hard to keep chases up like that but if you can geez fast mover becomes 7.65 movement speed about half as fast as nurses movement speed while blinking. So super fast.
Life sense- they enter? So they have to enter your radius? This seems like it would either be really good or useless depending on how lucky you are. I assume you get some sort of notification? Maybe if it just showed the position like doctors screams or Rancor.
Virulent- Cool! what if they use self-care?
Survivor perks
Desperate Maneuver- This is fine, cool even.
Impromptu Repairs- Odd mix of cool and strange but not really a balance issue IMO.
Jaded - This seems fine but does it effect Object off Obsession at all? also doctor terror radius already has a counter with calm spirit and this seem like it would be even more annoying.
Overall this is really cool and I would love to see more of this content. Also could you link the images or did you make them yourself? Also also would you want this to be in the YouTube comments as well?
-
Figured I could bring up the fact that Hex perks produce light even though they help the killer. Seems to break the theme of light being the weakness when its directly aiding the killer giving them more power.
-
The risk seems minimal with leaving your body in a good hiding spot but whats the point? You cant really do anything while astral projected.
-
Loose thoughts:
You can't focus on anything, after working on a generator for 3/2.8/2.6 seconds the aura of chest and totems get revealed for 2.6/2.8/3 seconds.
"Oh a chest nice, oh wait what was I doing?"~thisdude9001
Infectiously Oblivious:
You don't hear killer terror radius unless injured and traps are invisible. You do not appear to the killer unless they look directly at you.
Be Prepared:
Your years in Boy scouts has taught you to always be prepared. Once per trail you can summon the weakest version of any item except keys.
-
1- Blinding faith: can only imagine this being to useful when forcing killers to drop a survivor when saving them from getting hooked 3 seconds of blindness isn't to long to escape with.
2- Ask and you shall receive : 3 free pallets is to good, also would recommend including the sinner and devoted status onto the perk itself and not them statuses.
3- God's wrath : Hurting other teammates is not a good goal, maybe make it so you are hurt instead but the perk doesn't work if you are already in the injured state and allows you to be healed faster. Maybe rename it Holy mans burden.
Overall this seems pretty cool.
-
This is really cool, really like the idea of the survivors having some magical abilities, but imagining Dwight shooting lasers of his hand is kinda weird.
Blinding hope: Should make it so it takes a couple seconds to blind killer (like the flashlight) sense this is basically a free extra item. Also does the time add up between chases? or if you lose the killer for .002 seconds does it start over?
Flame of Truth: how long does this last? Looks good other wise. Duration should be decent for how situational this is.
Will of the ancestors: really cool, feel like the killer should have some way of telling its an projection by seeing its aura or something of the sort. Basically this could lead to an enter team just hiding and sending these bad boys out. This is just a safer way to play the game. Also can you cancel it?
Radiant soul probably isn't necessary at all. Making noise and producing light would make it much harder to hide form killer.
-
is that a theme?@LancerCain
-
Anyone else?
-
pretty neat
-
oh man... that's awesome
-
RADIOSTAR199904 made something you might like https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/79292/new-killer-idea-the-ripper
-
This is pretty cool. Seems like an extra dead hard though.
-
Not much of a lore guy but this is pretty neat. Now perks are what I can talk about and these look pretty good
“Lovers last resort” (obsession perk)- The idea of an obsession perk on survivors is pretty cool and I've never seen anything like it. For the perk itself, you should specify that this is only for the obsession that you are rescuing. The perk is pretty neat but 20 metres back is crazy far. Also question could you use this to rocket yourself through the gate?
”true loves bond”- This is cool unless everyone was running it. It's also like a free perk to whoever was on the receiving end of this. Do they also get the negative if you die? Can people share bonds? Also isn't this also an obsession perk?
“Love or lust”- So if you manage to unhook them you keep the speed boost? going 30% faster is mostly game breaking. I'd recommend having the 10% only while your "love" is hooked. Also isn't this also an obsession perk?
Really cool stuff you got going here.
-
That's something I can get behind.
-
Cool power! limited uses might not be great, but who knows.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT- lil to good just wacking a bunch of people that were at a gen then being able to rush up to them super quick.
ILL LEAVE THE STREETS BLEEDING- To good with a free down
ANESTHESIA AWEARNESS- pretty much useless? you already see all the non player auras you need. Maybe other then hooks i guess which this would be useable. Also survivors shouldn't see where the totems are
-
Neat but probably a little silly. Actually wouldn't mind seeing something like this in the game, BUT the lower tier perks would have to be weaker because you still get the same effect each time. Ex lvl one decisive is just as good at going against tunnelers then lvl 3. You get me?
-
Would be pretty easy to figure out and would alert the survivors earlier of the killers closeness. Probably not to useful against survivors that know the killer perks. Neat idea though!
-
Power is neat! Wouldn't consider it overpowered IF you limit the amount of pallets/vaults, and make the vaults only if they rush vault. Hag and Trapper have similar abilities but wont instantly put them into dying state.
Killer Perks:
"You Can't Even See the Scratch Marks"- Behind walls is really strong no way a survivor can escape without going around a wall and seeing their scratch marks would make it to easy.
"They Do this to Themselves"- This seems fine sense you'll be able to find them most of the time anyways. So maybe to weak?
"No witnesses, Not in my Line of Work"- It's cool.
Survivor Perks:
Childhood Innocence- More selfish version of Leader/Prove Thyself, still useful though. For the perk I would just drop the token bit "For every survivor within 24 metres of you increases your action time by 5%."
Isolation: So very situational but common enough. How long do you see their aura?
You recognize that when times are tough, you must take things more slowly. For every person still left in the match, you have a token. When a survivor is killed, a token is spent and you can see the killer's aura.
Midnight Lullaby- What do you mean Doors? like exit gates? Would need more nerfs though, compared to detective's hunch this is a much better version.
Also would avoid having a child in the game, maybe a mentally handicapped person? Just not comfortable killing children in this type of game.
-
Invisible, silent, can infect generators, seems that everyone else left generator, When anyone that was on the generator preforms and action they scream and illusions pop up, op in distortion realm.
I get all that right? Honestly its a neat concept being able to infect generators but being able to one shot a survivor just for them working on a generator seems a bit much.
Hello Player- Perks should not directly effect anyones ranks, revealed is neat but 15m is to small to really do anything with it.
Mindstorm(brianstorm?)- useless with generators already giving notifications
Gaming addiction- Perks should not directly effect anyones ranks, and repair speed decrease is way to good like better then Ruin unless they know that your using it somehow. Would take 160 seconds to do a generator.
-
This is neat. I like it.
-
rip killer
looks neat though
-
Sounds neat but may just cause more clutter in a game that already has over 50 perks to learn and over 20 items. also curropt chewing gum needs a time, Would you be able to see hex totems of the killers with Chewing Gum of Evil?, I don't like the idea of sand sense it puts some survivors behind others that have proper gear.
I think some of these items would work better as just normal items you could bring into the game.
But still this is pretty cool.
-
Rush seems like diet-hillbilly which isn't a bad thing just not really exciting. Nurses are also like diet-hag. Neither of these things really make up for the slow speed.
Killer perks
1) Guilt- by trigger do you mean they see the survivors aura? Other wise not very useful unless you have unnerving Presence which people just won't do stuff till you leave
2) Torment- neat perk making the world more foggy for the survivor. I like it.
3) Ego-I'd suggest having it so that for each token they leave scratch marks behind the survivors. Obsession thing is good.
Quick note for perks, make sure you say killer and not the name or gender, the perk is meant for every killer.
Survivor: Heather Manson
Unique Perks:
1) Firefly: Comment with the not very useful.
2) Superego: for healing? its neat.
3) Last man Standing: Maybe just a passive increase that last till you die or escape? Just to make it a bit more useful.
So not a huge fan of Silent hill but this guy looks pretty badass. So I would love to see them in the game.
-
ability power of the elements: can you attack out of water? if so just spray and wack. With fire what do you have to do to break a pallet? do you have only 3 for the enter game or do you regain them when they are activated?
PERKS
IRONFIST- Probably to good allowing easy double hit with Save the Best for Last
HIDDEN PRESENCE- neat but probably to small of an area to be to useful but to good to be increased to much.
HEX SUPRISE- no way you got that close without them noticing also probably not to good for the doctors out there
Its neat but where is the earth element?
-
ability-impostor
neat! do you gain there movement speed to? can you attack out of disguise? would flashlight burn through it?
perks
hex hunger: neat, probably not to useful, also should have cool down on use times
deadly screech: not very good at all way to much time spent just for one hit.
hex lust of death: to good compared to Hex:Devour Hope, with this you can camp and don't need to put in as much effort to get the first kill
-
Power- What are shocks? Other wise neat, How do they put them in? is it just a click and they are out of the game for awhile? seems like a very spammable pig, but you know without the head exploding.
infected wood- Way to strong, makes pallets pretty much useless.
Hex flayed flesh- 30% faster is way to fast and permanent mangled is no fun to go against.
Black dot- this sounds pretty cool, maybe not 60 seconds? maybe 20/30/40?
Survivor Sgt hopper
PERKS
Authority- way to fast
Rough exterior- neat but not very usefull
Soft interior- Cool! but for how long?
Honestly would love to see the demogorgen in DBD and i agree with radio star for odds for them to get in
