  • I did this with trapper without camping at all. Just set some traps there and there and every time I hooked someone, another survivor put a foo on a trap.

I litterally DID NOTHING of the game. xD

  • You ask for a nerf, so survivors use all he keys they have before that happens.

  • Used Kindred a lot today and I still died on he hook while the killer was on the opposite side of the map. Another survivor was just the next room on Saw map.

Even if this perk should be obvious to take, you can't force people to play in team.

Dont do solo Q on weekends! Seriously talk about the worst players in existence 😂 legit been getting 12hooks with 4 gens left or the whole game over in 2mins as killer lol. All rank 1s as well, its embarrassing lol

Learned it the hard way today. People let you die for your first hook to take the hatch, even if you specially get hook for helping them.

So... Go solo, you'll lose all faith in mankind (inside video game :p)

Pig is not bad? Dude i am not Pig main but all Pigs were tunnelling me when i face with them. I never saw one Pig is not tunnelling, all of them i faced were tunnelling. I am not complaining about tunnel becuase it is legal tactic but if any killer needs that, that is mean they had bad game or they were going lose or killer is weak.

If players need to tunnel with the pig, it's not the killer's fault. Specially with his perks. Only weak killers or people seeking for challenge (books) or achievement will tunnel with pig. Maybe they don't play well/often with Amanda.

  • Don't forget Devor hope, guys. This perk is rarely used, so when a killer take it, it's almost every time to late. The other survivors down like dominos one after other.

Like the people said before me, all depend of the situation, your perks, Killer's perks etc...

  • If they insult you because you don't genrush like an robot, ditch them and don't take their opinion in account at all.

  • I first thought that was a bait, but a huge portion of Claudette are just here to enjoy he map and do nothing else.

some people are complaining about this perk for no reason

this perk prevents camping and helps you through the grind

why are people complaining about it?

this perk wouldn't have been run as much if the grind wasn't so terrible

plz stop complaining about this perk its nowhere near OP

    Prevent camping? In wich universe?

More seriously, you just need to hide in a locker when you play survivor. And so many of them play with locker anytime and anywhere except when necessary.

That is toxic by a loose definition. But the only truly toxic thing is endgame chat.

I play only on PS4. A few month ago, you could still talk with the killer. Now, every one block their messages, survivors and killers.

I can be salty sometimes, but I never insult someone. Dialogue is the best option. But now you can't even do that. You can have any exchange with other players...

Maybe it's not a bad thing when I read some comments here. Some people should go outside more. You can't wish someone to have a cancer or commit suicide. That give me the chill... -__-

  • The worst kind of survivor is when someone lopp in the shack when someone is hook in the basement. And the survivor making the killer run is full life. I mean... what's his deal? You can't save the guy downstair since the killer will see you and, logically, follow you.

And it's not always around the shack. I don't understand why people love so much making a killer run around a hook when they can lure him further. They just block every one with their stupid behavior.

  • @IAmShadowZzz said:

If you're playing killer, and camping the hatch against the last person alive. Does that count as holding the game hostage? You're forcing them to do Gen's revealing their position or they give up and try to get hatch. But since the game can technically still end if they were to do Gen's, does that count as holding the game hostage?

I'm main survivor and... No, it's not taking the game hostage in my opinion. =)

As I said, the tunnel was whatever. It was the ranks at the end. Like how am I suppose to learn when they can basically read my every move because they have 2K+ hours? I am still learning "tiles" or whatever they are called.

It's a question about experience, not ranks. Ranks have no meanings in this game. You'll find much better killers in low ranks than in high ranks. Some players derank in purpose even if they are good.

The same thing can be said about survivors. Some red ranks survivors will be useless as hell compared to some green... or even brown ranks. Don't mind about the rank, just play and learn with time, that's all the good things we can wish for you. =)

  • @Kangaroohugs said:

To clarify, I only have about 20 hours in the game. What is up with the matchmaking? Is it always like this? This is really not fun to play against. This person continuously went for me when I was unhooked :( I know I need more practice at the game but this feels skewed a little.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YU3ZI60DVOQY/20210604234656-1.jpg

First time you experienced getting tunneled? You should get used to it as fast as you can because a lot of killers play like this. They ditch any chase and come back for you when you'll get unhook. Anything for a win.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2245252#Comment_2245252

It isn't though. It's a game. Trying to win isn't toxic

That's the thing, some killers don't even try to win. They grabe a dude, facecamp him and just wait in the basement. If you are in SWF, you warned your friends, they finish 5 gens, leave and only you had your game ruined by some troll.

I can, more or less, understand why people camp to win. Lack of skills in chase, etc... But some persons just want to ruin your experience at all cost.

  • The only times I DC is when a killer camp/tunnel me like hell from the start and that I can't help my teammates anymore. If the dude facecamp me, I'll stay on the hook to provide time for other players fixing gen.

But if I make a stupid encounter earler in the game, the killer found me by some stupid luck, wait for someone to unhook me for just tunnel me, I DC before the last hook because, I'm sorry, but he don't deserve any BP at all for a sacrifice.

Other than that, I never DC. Even if I play with some stupid survivors unable to do anything and love getting killed right away. I often saw this pattern: The killer down a survivor, a second one rush to bodyblock or slow down the killer and take two hits in a row. Repeat this 3 times in a few minutes for a wonderful game at 2 against 1 and 3-4 gens left.

  • The game is no toxic, people are.

  • @OtakaChan : Like the guy said to me, it's our fault and we just have to suck it up when a killer camp and tunnel with no reason. Playing like this is not toxic at all.

Yesterday again... I play and make a rookie mistake and finish on the hook. It's on me and I deserv it since I play poorly this time. The killer just loop around me and chase a guy when he see one. Another survivor unhook me and... Well, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, he ditch him and come tunnel my face. That happen all the time.

It's not "play smart", it's being a toxic douchbag, guys.

  • @Junylar said:

There is barely any point in deranking as solo survivor. You won't be matched against less skilled killers, you will just be thrown in with potato teammates and your games will become even more horrible. Deranking on purpose is more of a SWF and Killer thing.

Some people love bullying crappy killers. Killers like me. xD

I'm not a good killer and before the crossplay it was very often that I across some people who loved play this way. Some dude rank 19/20 and way more skilled than some rank 1 survivors. They take pleasure by humiliate people this way.

Of course, they trashtalk also after the game. Even if you play fair and avoir any toxic behavior on your side.

I know that is probably more an sarcastic line, but still... If bhvr takes every fun element out of the game, just because someone crys over it, nobody should be surprised if more and more players play for the best wins possible, because they have nothing else left.

And that counts for boths sides. Many reworks and nerfs in the past have gone too far, for both sides.

Imo, this game need abilities and perks that sometimes can feel op but not necessary lead to a match domination. So that the people can have fun, without that it really matters (if a certain abilitie or perk needs not opness in form that it wins matches. Chases or other small parts of the game yes, matches no).

Just to say that I'm totally agree with you. =)

    Bubba can flutter the chainsaw.

Even if they just stand there, the chainsaw can be charged and released the moment the hooked survivor gains control. Given the right addons (or position), you can chase down the unhooked through BT within the same charge.

I saw some pro bubba facecamper wih time. Dudes know perfectly when start to charge the chainsaw when the survivor is in the right place to down him. Pro never lie...

  • You're a funny dude.

  • Like I said I won't argue anymore with you since you refuse to consider anything. Have a good fun camping and tunneling.

  • I'm an average player, that's what I try to explain. You like camping, tunneled people? Do your tthing. I just explain to you that:

    1: It's toxic.

2 : it's ruining the game for the personne on the hook.

It's not "my rulebook" or a way to be salty. Just a fact.

  • @BuddhaBing said:

I don't really get how getting someone to take one extra hook state is "ruining the game" for them. It's not like they don't get a chance to play. They got to play before the hook and after, they just got one less hook state to play around with. I'm sorry if you're getting camped and tunneled, but if you say that happens almost every game, I'm guessing you've made the definitions of those tactics so broad that you can use them to explain any loss. You said, "It's just a game. You win, you lose." Why is it that you judge the killer for not taking the loss, but you seem completely unwilling to accept a loss, yourself?

Good on you for not teabagging, but that basically brings to the level of a killer who won't slug people until they bleed out for the fun of it. Not teabagging is different from intentionally throwing the game to give the survivors another chance.

Basically, my only right is to accept being camped and tunneled just because the killer don't want to play? that's it?

I'm not some tryhard dude who loop over and over, who stay hidden in every bush or so. I made mistake, I get chase, I finish on the hook. I's fair game. And then, the ugly part start. The killer stay put or leave for... 5-10meters. If someone come unhook me or if he sees some oher survivor he pretend to chase him et come back to me just after without event me a second to run.

So, no, you don' play "AFTER" getting hooked. Some killers even stay glu to you a few seconds to counter the perk when you are unhook in their radius (sorry, don't have the name in english).

When the killer playing toxic as hell and ruining your game, i's no about accepting a loss at all. If you can't understand that, we wasting our time each other.

  • @Yatol said:

  • NOED is a perk for new or average killers who have hard time to kill survivors during trial. I don't say that to bait anyone, juste to be clear.

I play with the perk who help locate totems (don"t have tthe name in english, sorry) because a lot of player use NOED. Just for a kill in endgame. And, yeah, I'm one of thoses "stupid altruist" person who die helping a dude on the hook when doors are open.

It's also a pretty good perk to deal with challenge who ask you to hook/sacrifice x survivors during endgame.

But the dude who want his one kill... meeeeh!

I've had survivor teams swarms the hook like locusts before I could even turned around and then they got super surprised that I didn't leave the hook.

As long as what you're doing isn't bannable or against any rules do what you need to do to win.

I'm against any form of camping, but what you described here is just dumb survivors. Or salty survivors... Or both? :p

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2242807#Comment_2242807

Not true. I don't mind losing if I have fun. But key escapes aren't fair. I kill two people, and if they finished 3 gens, the other two instantly escape, robbing me of bloodpoints.

It's a free unearned escape because keys are the same thing as old moris. They circumvent your objective and still allow you to win. To get out, you should always have to do 5 gens.

I have the feeling that you don't play killer enough to know how broken keys are.

Can't say I play Killer often, but I don't mind when survivors take he hatch, with or without key. I ever let the last survivor out if he's not toxic and I don't camp ever, specially in endgame.

I'm probably a baby killer, a noob or whatever. I never consider mori toxic or any item/perk. I only despise camping and tunnelling with no reason. if nobody tbag you/play toxic, a killer had 0 reason o play his way. But everyone here tell me otherwise. Maybe I'm too stupid/naive.

  • It's a weird way to present things. ^^'

I'll never understand how body block or using palet to help oher survivors not getting hooked can be considered toxic.

  • @BuddhaBing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241689#Comment_2241689

Okay, it takes 10-20 seconds to get to the person. They knew he went down at 5:00. So let's be generous and say it takes them 40 seconds to get there. They still would have gotten the unhook before Trickster got back. I don't accept you're "it's trickster so they have to walk" argument. Unhooking someone brings some inherent danger. If people want to slowly mosey their way over to the hook, that's on them.

I don't know why you think I take offense to your posts. I just don't like when people get hook defense and camping confused. Camping is the killer wasting their time sitting by the hook. Hook defense is when the survivors make decisions to make leaving the hook a bad idea.

You also never answered my question. You want the killer to run off when he has 3 survivors occupied, a bad decision that would make them less likely to win. You implied that they don't consider other players when they play this way. So what do you do? What do you do to help the killer out? What do you do to erase their mistakes? Give them second chances? That's what you're asking for here. You want the killer to intentionally misplay when the survivors play too passively.

You are the equivalent of the killers who complain that survivors holding down m1 is "gen-rushing".

"Hook defense"? That's a thing? The dude is camping badly, that's it, no need to hold a discussion. Like Cluelesswanderer say, that's his right. Every gamer play like he wants to.

He ruining the game for Jake and Yu Jin. You can call that a strategy and I can get it that some survivors can be toxic and lake of respect in endgame with useless ans unecessary tbaging. Almost every game I play the killer camp and/or tunnel and I won't go tbag someone who play correctly. I even go talk to them to THANK THEM for not doing it. That's how screw up the situation is. You go and thanks someone who play for fun now.

It's jus a game. You win, you lose... Go to the next game. But no, some killers just want a 4 kills and are ready to do, litterally, anything to suceed. Even ruined the fun for every ont else in the process.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2240956#Comment_2240956

Are you dumb? Not an insult, but a legitimate question.

Moris are useless now, so there's nothing to complain about. Keys are OP, and give a free, unearned escape.

I can't even remember the last time they nerfed keys, either, so idk what you're talking about.

Every survivor item that has been nerfed had a good reason.

Toolboxes: Base gen speeds are a problem. Why in the hell would it be ok to speed them up?

Medkits, or specifically, instameds: Once a killer earns the down, another survivor shouldn't be able to instantly res them. That's just completely unfair.

Flashlights: I don't even need to go into why instablinds were broken.

Like you said, every items had been nerfed it this day. You still need to finish a lot of gen his there is a lot of survivors still alive. In wich way it's a "free, unearned escape?". You can't hide and take the hatch doing nothing.

At some point, I really have the feeling that you don't play for fun but just for the win. Sorry, but we don't have the same vision about this game at all.

  • Not a joke at all (or a bait). I really never saw a survivor with a key. Maybe it's a new thing with red rank survivors, but since we get camped and tunnel every game, I can't rank up very fast. =)

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241235#Comment_2241235

Ok? By your own words, you planned to camp Jake until he hit struggle phase. And since you were sticking so close to the hook, of course another survivor would bait you into a chase to get you away from it long enough to save the hooked team mate. What choice did they have? You just stated you didn't want to let that happen. You expect to stay by the hook, and down any attempts at a rescue- you don't want to go off hunting and chasing, you expect an exchange; hooked survivor for saviour. Then you admit you camped the Yun Jin.

Ergo, they accused of camping (as you said). And yes, you did camp. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I mean, play how you like, but it would have been a pretty unfun match as a survivor imo. You said you camped Yun Jin "because the match was over so you wanted to end it quickly". Well, even if you would have won the match eventually anyways (probably, 4 gens were up), is it really so terrible that the 3 leftover survivors might have earned a few bloodpoints through normal gameplay so they didn't have to depip?

I know I'm in the minority of people who consider other players, I just can't help myself. It's a character flaw.

I love the part when he's a good guy. You can't ruin the game and saying "Well, since I ruining their game, I can at least finish it faster". When you play killer, hook a survivor and leave, you know that someone will come, unhook the guy and, sometimes, heal him.

That's just a crappy excuse. When you come back after a whole minute it's logic that you'll met another survivor. The Jake in question was the baddest survivor of his team anyway. Dude can't run more than 5 seconds and he get camp. Poor dude...

I also agreed with @glitchboi : sometime, survivors deserve to get camped and/or, the killer had to do it if he losing his game. And it wasn't the case here. Playing like that at rank1. Urgh...

  • Killers are actually whining about keys. Devs are busy to make them happy.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2240705#Comment_2240705

People will call you a camper. If you don't let them get unhooked safely. Get in your face to body block with BT AND not follow them after. Even though they cost you time and a hit on someone else.

I had a group call me a camper the other day. And to their credit I did at certain points. But I also went away from the hook for a full minute before I ventured back. In one of the scenarios they were calling me a camper for.

    https://youtu.be/yQ9PqbrzJc8

It was this match. And most hooks I went away from. But I camped them all according to the survivors 😂

You did camp the Jake. When you don't have any reason to go back and staying around a survivor on a hook, it's camping. Before that, I don't have anything to say.

    @tippy2k2 said:

    Haha...chainsaw go brrrrrrrr

Anyway, like others have said, there's really not much I can think of at least that wouldn't either be abused by survivors or punish innocent Bubba's like myself (I do not camp but it's damn amazing how many teams just love to swarm the hook and unhook in my damn face when I play Bubba and then call me a camper for it :D. If y'all would let me take five damn steps before flying to the hook like they were a breath away from dying, I could actually go somewhere else).

It honestly does suck when you get a facecamping anything but I've yet to see a suggestion that couldn't be abused by survivors.

I'm main survivor and I know that sometimes survivors can be stupid and use stupids excuses like that. Or even worse, the killer hit you because some genius unhook you 2secs after the killer hook you. Well... dah, you offer him my head on a plate. I understand perfectly if the killer hit me down a second time.

One time I talk with a killer after a game. The dude stay around me until P2. When I ask why, he answer me "I just checked to be sure nobody was here". -___-

And... nobody was here AT ALL at the time. xD

A lot of my games over the last few months had keys in them. Especially during the chest bug that produced keys at the rate of brown toolboxes.

The issue with keys becomes if you kill one survivor, now three can escape. So you end up trying to slug all four to avoid this scenario. This is boring for both sides.

That's new to me. You don't need to fix 4 gens when one survivor die to make the hatch pop now?

  • I'm main survivor and I won't ever complain about mori. It's a part of the game. All items are and add some fun/punch/spice. So, complain about keys... seriously? You need to fix gens first and very often the dude who came with the key is focus/tunnel hard.

How often a survivor came with a key? Almost never. Complain about survivor's items after all the nerf they did on thoses things? LOL!

Buddy....step into a locker for 4 seconds and it's countered. Be near the killer when they are hooking and it's countered. Run that perk that hides your aura a certain number of times. You're the lazy one for not wanting to take time to counter the perk YOU deem as bad/lazy.

I play main survivor and check this in every rank: people are stupid and NEVER hide in a locker. You know pretty fast when a killer play with BBQ. But...

And since killer camp almost every time, this perk is rarely used to pinpoint other players. Maybe that's why they don't have this reflexe.

  • Sure... And we remove the fact that he can lunch his knifes while running to counterbalance.. =)

The OP was complaining about not ranking up because of a camping Bubba.

Camping Bubba's are not that frequent, just play another game instead of writing forum posts about it.

In that case, it's my fault for not reading all of it, sorry. =)

I don't know if that's a question about rank, but, yes, Bubba camp 9 on 10 times. Even if they don't facecamp, they stay near the hooking survivor. Chili is not used to detect survivor but earning BP right now.

    @aroell said:

Bubba just needs a rework, shouldn’t be able to camp so effectively and counter borrowed time at the same time. No other killer can do this

It's already did. It get buffed because people complaigned (lol). Bubba is way more flexible than before with the chainsaw.

...I tried to take a window when he played us by leaving for twenty seconds to proxy and as soon as I got the hooked survivor down he rushed over and chainsawed both of us in one swing, both down immediately. I didn't even know you could down two survivors with one attack, I've never seen it in my 300 hours of playing this game so far, yet here we are.

That's not all. Now Bubba can move while rughing with his chainsaw. I have a video when the dude go back and forth in the stairs in the basement. Dude hit me twice in one rush.

  • Bubba? Well... On 10 games, 8 of them will be with a camping killer. No need to be against a Bubba. You talk about strategy. Really? Staying front of a survivor or making circle is that funny?

Camping and tunneling. EVERY GAME! What's the point? One time ou two, I found some genius with Insidious waiting 15minutes in the basement for a survivor to come. That's a strategy too? You enjoy waiting so long without playing? Just to crush someone's game?

Dev don't need to stop the progression, but at least slowing it. You get hooked, the killer stay close, waiting that someone unhooked you and tunnel... Over and over. Every game.

We have two choices: letting the killer kill you, or ragequit. If you ragequit because the killer is toxic as hell, YOU GET PUNISHED.

Even after a 3 months break, things are the same here. God...

@fogdonkey : Rank up? Dude, I'm playing because this game is supposed to be fun. I win, I lose, that's it. Don't care a second about the rank. If you want to compare your junk with your friends, go play Fortnite or Overwatch.
