    +1

I just had this happen on my first match playing against Dracula - everything was fine the entire match, but as survivor I found hatch, hopped in, the game stalled, and then it said Match Disconnected and I lost all my bloodpoints. I did happen to save it though, here's a video of what happened. I will note I was also able to jump directly into another match, but if we're gonna keep losing points I don't see it's worth the risk.

EDIT: Attached my logs — sorry they're long, I kept playing without issue for the evening, it seems to be fully related to the hatch escape.

Xernoton already explained it very well that this is the anti-FACE-camp mechanic and not a general anti-camping mechanic to make camping completly useless. I also agree that this mechanic is fine and good as it is. However, there are three changes that the developers should do to make it overall more fairer:

    - Some killers such as Leatherface, Trickster, and Huntress have still no built-in anti-campmechanic which other killers like Artist or Dredge already have. This makes them to very good campern because it is nearly impossible to get a safe rescue - there is a difference between difficult and impossible unhook.

    - a soft version of Kindred should be basekit because this would help soloq alot to make better decisions when it comes to unhook (e.g. seeing that someone goes for the unhook and I don't have to left the generator because I am worry.)

    - let survivors see the builds of their teammates to better coordinate.

This is nothing new and there are some topics about it but what I want to explain is that in my opinion you (not you specific but the users who want to buff this mechanic) complain about the wrong point. Instead of encourage the developers to buff an already working mechanic (and missing the point of it), we should encourage the developers to improve the bad parts of the game.

I just can imagen why the killer did this: From my experience the killer was probably thinking that he needs the kill because there are two generators left and he gets either the kill or an exchange with Leon or Kate-bottom (maybe even a painres exchange?) The first one would be the better result (maybe wit No Way Out). If this was the right choice, can't say but would make sense.

I know camping is not funny for survivors but they must see it from the killer pov that if this is the best way to win, they should do it. Same goes for tunnling or slugging. If the survivors give the opportunity to end the match with this strategy due to a mistake the killer should take it. Thus, this brings me back to why Kindred for SoloQ would be helpful because there is a difference between a mistake and missing coordination due to the lack of communication.

Can I be honest? If you have to stand at the hook to get the down, you're bad. He'd had other hooks but decided to camp me because I was doing unhooks. Strategically, I can see why taking me out is reasonable, but to stand there? Waste. Get better at the game, but this mechanic isn't strong enough. I was a killer main for more than half of my 1500 hours and I still don't think this is a viable strategy, so I don't care to be condescended to about seeing it from the killer's perspective.

  • I have to +1 this -- though I do think if killers were actually patrolling around it would be better than what actually happens, which is Killers walking just out of range of the bar, where they are still clearly camping, and just waiting for someone to come save. For example, this screenshot is my second hook, but this Chucky was literally RIGHT THERE the entire time. It's not effective at all. They need to increast the range a bit more for killers to be out of it, or figures something else out. At least when a Bubba was just hitting my body on hook the whole time my team knew to go do gens.

  • I'm having this issue as well since the update. I've been disconnected several times, and the worst part is that it counts against me as a disconnect. I was in the middle of a generator and it disconnected me; tried another match after the cooldown, and it disconnected me mid-chase—and gave me another penalty. I'm just trying to finish my rift and this is untenable.

  • +1. But I've been playing surivor all day as Ripley with no problem As soon as I switched to killer to try and play Alien after work started getting this error, and it's happened five matches in a row. PC/Steam.

  • Confirming that Hag's daily challenge is bugged, I've finished it three times just today with no progress/achievement.

  • An update nearly a month later, and this is still happening regularly.

  • This is still happening on Craft Time's Over in the Event Tome, too.

  • I had this problem earlier while using a controller on PC, as well. So it's cross-platform.

  • Back again for this -- I managed to finish Page 2 eventually by taking the killer path, but now I'm on page 3 of this tome and the By Any Means Necessary challenge is not progressing. I've already tried changing the challenge, restarting the game, etc.

  • +1 I had this happen with a player who DC'd the first time I downed her. I could have sworn she was hiding behind a rock but I could see the other three players and the fourth was gone so...

  • +1 I have done two trials as survivor for the Craft Time's Over (Cleanse 8 Totems) challenge in the current Tome and it will not progress despite having completed cleansing 5 totems. Video of a match where I cleansed 3 totems and got no credit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/129RDijqc2A_1pwJ4p4SEEkZrLWi2N5TE/view?usp=sharing

  • This has happened to me as well, both as survivor and as a killer on PC. The survivors I was playing against were (understandably) furious as it cost them the entire match.

  • This is still happening. I just did two rounds as Trapper and both times got the crown, but it's not in his cosmetics options. I play on PC.

Thirded, and I'd also note the same is true of Oni and his hair.
