So a couple of times now either I or one of my teammates has managed to evade the Killer long enough that either everyone else is dead or has escaped or is on the hook so when we get hooked it is our first time but because there are no other "Healthy or Injured" Survivors we go right into Stage Three without the chance to try freeing ourselves.

I get that it is a really low chance to jump off each time and that the Killer is probably still right there in front of me when I'm on the hook because they've got no where else to be now but I'd still really like my three attempts just as one final hope that maybe if I'm lucky I can still escape.

Put it on a short timer that if you don't try right away you still skip to Stage Three like it does now, just not instantly. Something just slightly longer than however long it takes for the prompt to show up and the action to be performed. You have enough time to get the prompt and perform the action with maybe a moments hesitation beforehand, but if you cancel the attempt at any point ("waving") or wait too long you go Stage Three.

I'm just upset that I was able to avoid being hooked at all only to not even get my three attempts. I'd have been better served going down sooner and at least trying to jump off than not going down until the very end.

I agree from a killers perspective, occasionally I used to just say "If the dbd gods let you jump off this hook then I'll let you live." Who am I to deny a second life given from the gods? (If they jump off with deliverance which is shown by them being broken then its no longer the gods and instead a perk so they died anyway)

  • Well this is fair you have to keep in mind that if you are guaranteed to at least not go down in rank just for escaping then some players would just mooch off their teammates. Why do risky saves and gens when you can hide and wait till your team dies or does the work for you so you can escape through hatch or door. It would encourage stealth play making people work together less in a team based game if they're solo queueing. If the rank system gets reworked at all it has to be done carefully so it doesn't accidentally reward that playstyle.

  • @Apollos said:

I'd say it's just rank, but this anniversary event is all about getting event items and farming blood points and I'm still getting really aggressive killers. It's a popular playstyle is all. I wish they'd just let us block players we don't want to play with. I'd take longer queue times if it meant I didn't have to run into someone that slugged the entire group and held the match hostage, or a survivor going out of their way to expose us to the killer without the killer knowing we're not friends. It might cut down on people being unfairly reported too, but you can only hope.

It's pretty backwards when you think about it. People complain about how terrible and unfair people are in the game, but we can't do anything to avoid playing with them and we're punished for backing out early. Why not just give us the option to not play with people we've had a bad experience with, with a warning on how it might affect matchmaking?

That's not a bad option necessarily but I think you're assuming that those players you don't like are the same people. This game is massive, the odds that you're even rarely facing the same players is miniscule. Its usually just more and more random players having that same style because there's no punishment for it, only rewards. Blocking players wouldn't make you face it less, just guarantee you never faced that one particular player again.

    It's called Custom Game

Damn this post is old and people like you still missed the whole part of wanting to still play with randoms so not kyf. You either didn't read it all the way through, you deliberately ignored an entire segment, or you lack reading comprehension and therefore can't provide a good counterpoint since you'll simply miss the original point.

I am not bad at killer lol, i have good kill rates on Nemesis too. But this is not makes him strong. He is pretty weak.

    1. He is 115% killer, he has not map mobility. He is normal m1 killer. There is so much killers faster than him.
    2. He is worst range killer. If you wanna use your tentacle, you have to hit them 3 times. So many times Nemesis players using m1 more than m2. This explain everything.
    3. Yeah, he is good with this.
    4. Zombies were useless most of my matches. And i can repair gens on their face. Zombies can be strong only indoor maps, that's all. Other maps they are weak and useless.
    5. Nemesis has not map mobility. Even info is useless. Because smart survivors are leaving before you go them.
    6. You can not do this. On high ranks game is fast and you have to finish chases fastly. If you try infect everyone, you will lose game lol. I am not using tentacle except when they gave me 100% hit. When i see they are running to pallet or windows, i am using tentacle. So i have my tentacle powers middle of game and i am using tentacle for destroy pallets most of times. Because i do not wanna hit survivor 3 times.

From everything you just said it comes down to you're playing him wrong. Everybody thinks "he takes 3 hits with tentacle so I no use tentacle." Its a stupid ideology and its what's making so many of you call him weak, you infect them and half the time they will never use a syringe because everybody thinks "it doesn't have any bad effects so why get rid of it." If they're a team that does use syringes a lot then they burn through them too fast if you're effective at infecting survivors every chance you get. Just like you said "its no wonder everyone uses m1" they're using him wrong and that's why you guys think he's weak. As for map mobility, who cares if they leave before you get there? Either they leave and then gen regresses so they wasted their time or they're hiding nearby and you don't have the skill to know where to look so you're simply missing them. Info is strong on any killer, fast map mobility isn't a necessity if you can apply your pressure correctly. As for doing gens in front of zombies? No you're not, either you're straight lying and you move off gens when they come or you're eating free hits from the zombie because "you do gens right in front of them"

  • The other dude was clearly the problem but you must have just been skimming through looking for a rage response, his anger was very justified as the dude simply wouldn't stop repeating the same things, ignoring points against his own, and all around being dense.

Are we really talking for nerf zombies? Nemesis is already weak killer, zombies are useless so many times.

I think its ridiculous that so many people in this community think that. Anyone who thinks nemesis is a bad killer is probably just bad at killer as far as it sounds. First off, he just feels so fast, i know hes not one of the fastest but hes far from being slow. Second, he has a ranged attack at all, short range at first but its so easy to level up if you're not trash tier at aiming. Third, if you miss the ranged attack somehow at a pallet then you dont just get punished for missing, you still break the pallet and catch up anyway ending a loop. Fourth, if the zombies work well they can camp gens and hooks making it impossible to do gens efficiently or rescues without added risk. Fifth, even if zombies dont get attacks or add pressure they can provide info if you're just a little observant. The second those arms lift I know now where a survivor is without any added perk or ability. Sixth, if you just infect everyone quickly they either now are all vulnerable to whip and zombies or they waste the syringes quickly and since those are limited you get an advantage the second they run out. Hes one of the strongest killers in the game as long as you dont have awful aim and I'm tired of people asking for buffs and thinking hes weak. I dont know the last time I got 3 4ks in a row with any killer without playing cheap. Yet with him my first time playing him I got 8 4ks in a row at rank 1 with no camping, no tunneling, and no slugging.

Splitting the playerbase would just have everyone move to whichever mode had the better queues. But you believe what you want.

Jesus why are there always people like you, you miss the point just like the other dude who had it go over his head. Its not about being perfect as a solution, some would, some people would come just to be trolls and sweat. But it would still provide at least a little incentive to be more chill. Kind of like how literally every other casual mode in any game ever works.

Okay, let me turn this argument around on you: DbD is a one of a kind game; nowhere else will I find the asymmetrical horror movie killer experience like this. I don't have the option to just find another. If I want to play iconic horror monsters chasing down survivors in a challenging gameplay environment, I have to play DbD.

You didnt turn it around at all, you said what I said but differently. That was literally my whole point that theres not other games like this to just go play? I guess you spun it as "if i want this challenge" then you missed the point, the point is theres no other games like this to play whether you like it challenging or you like it casual. Which still supports that this game needs a casual mode because it wouldnt take away from the ranked, just would create a casual option.

For the most part I do still enjoy the game. I just think most of the new content like killers/maps added in the last year just aren't really fun to play on or against. It feels like they're out of ideas and just phoning it in.

I don't DC as killer ever but if I get Hawkins or something against some insecure spirit with stacked slowdown I'm just going to boot up another game for the day.

And you have now in turn ruined the game for the killer and your teammates, players like you are why we want the dc penalty back.

Sadly there's just so many of these whiny people in the gaming community as a whole these days. Fuelled by nothing but toxic competitive PvP and anything else and they have to prattle on and on about how bad PvE is and how it 'ruins' their experience when it would otherwise actually improve diversity and bring more players and revenue for those who want such an experience. Just think how good DbD would be if a bot mode (and/or players (maybe even friends) vs AI killers) would be especially if you can earn bloodpoints and earn rift shards. That way, everyone could play it and also it'd be a good way to break away from a bad match streak. I'd actually pay for the rift passes and dedicate my time to the game again if they just made it a option. About 95% of the time I spend playing PvE in games alot of the time folks either get by or are actually friendly through the whole match.

I agree on pretty much everything you said except for the earning points and stuff, maybe for cosmetics and such or even if the economy for the pve bloodweb was seperate from the pvp but definitely wouldn't be good to earn bp and shards for the pvp mode in a pve mode. Some people only play as much of the game as they do to grind bp and level up and prestige and what not, taking away those players would make queue times longer or it would just let people complete challenges without the challenge which is kind of against the whole point. Obviously people do farming games anyway but thats rarer and a bit different. Not to mention its against the rules im pretty sure (although no one cares because everyone likes a break)

  • Oh gosh I hope he doesn't return because of that lmao. Idk if you read the rest of his replies back and forth but dude refused to admit whats clear of him just being his own reason for not being able to relax in any games casual modes.

  • @indieeden7 said:

To be fair, a perk completely removing an item's functionality is pretty dumb, survivors have to buy the flashlight and its add-ons each time they use one, you only have to buy Lightborn 3 times.

Yeah but thing is there are tons of other perks much better than lightborn, its a very niche perk and very few of us use it and most who use are just tired of getting blinded over and over making it so no progress is made on hooks. For those reasons its good that it works the way it does.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

I would swap Bond with Spine chill.

And Windows or opportunity should be higher imo

Windows of opportunity is simply a bad perk for anyone with experience in the game, taking up a whole perk slot just to find windows or pallets when you can know these things simply from experience is a waste so just from my pov thats why it deserves a low spot.

I already stated that I enjoyed to read the salt of perma-banned players in league. Why do you think I am on this forum?

I am a killer only player up to this point with meager 250 hours. I play a friendly 8hook no kill style to grind blood points and aliviate the stress for survivor since 2017.

I don't really care for most stuff on here but give my opinion and sometimes enjoy extreme biased threads from one sided "mains".

Your title seemed angerfilled and those are most often interesting.

You know what. I retract other things, thats pretty based. Good work lmao

camping tunelling slugging isn't toxic. And killers don't need to do this to "win" or even just have fun.

You're part of those "certain players" I mentioned. Congrats, that opinion was already touched on and set aside because it is.

  • @KerJuice said:

Players need to play both sides equally (for a least a small period of time) to understand where each side is coming from. When I first started playing I saw one too many YouTube vids and thought clicking my flashlight to get the killers attention away from teammates was necessary. Once I started playing killer, I realize it was actually quite the opposite because he sees everyone anyway, and that ######### is annoying. So I stopped lol. As killer I used to camp and tunnel thinking it was viable. When I was survivor and it happened to me a few times, I stopped that ######### immediately. No fun literally not getting a chance to play play the damn game. Tunneled out with 5K to my name.

Now this whole gen rushing thing is a different story. I don’t get that ######### at all. What else are survivors supposed to do? Jerk each other off in the corner? When it happens to me it’s because I have no gen defense and or I didn’t pressure gens enough. I don’t blame survivors. But I digress. My point is: walk a mile in each other’s shoes and that’ll cut down on the toxicity in our community.

I play both, I have probably over 1k hours in the game because I've played since launch. You're absolutely right, walk a mile in eachothers shoes. Thats why as it is now I don't do that stuff as killer. If 3 gens are done by the first hook I get because of gen rushing though then I camp, I want at least 1k for the sake of points and satisfaction of at least one kill. Usually I'll even wait until after the next chase to see how gen progress continues. But sometimes now its too late and if theyre a good swf I just don't get any kills because I didnt camp or tunnel.

  • Ah but see, you took the time to come into "my" forum post with my opinion, read through it, read through others opinions on it, choose to reply to my stuff, and now were here. You cared just a bit.

I actually whole-heartedly agree, I'm not really sure I understand the reasoning as to why we can't disable the chat censor.. in any other game I think I have ever played there was always the option... regardless of ESRB rating btw (cause I saw someone mention that)

I don't swear so the censor doesn't bother me in that way, what is extremely frustrating about the censor is that it seems constantly be censoring words that aren't actually bad words.

For example: JUST in this last match lobby I hate now...

A survivor complimented my horrible nurse practice and I tried to write:

    "I did horrible, but ty!"

It came out as "I did horrible, *** **!" - which actually made it look like I was trying to be an ass and talk smack, even though I was legitimately trying to thank the person.

This is just one example, literally "But, ty" was censored. This happens to me all the time, and I'm not trying to say anything rude. It's very annoying and I think it gives people the wrong impression of me.

This is definitely the more pressing side of the issue tbh, bug fixes and all that need to be there for stuff like that but its so simple to just give the option to turn it off I don't get why its not there.

Ahh you remind me of old times when people in league of legends tried to appeal a permant ban for toxicity. Good old times.

"I wasn't even toxic, I didn't tell them to end their own lives or their family to get cancer"

Sorry buddy we aren't wacko but you want to vent even for the placebo effect and even indirectly attempt to blackmail/force:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345133#Comment_2345133

"If I don't get to see my own rage in chat, i will start to play toxic to get it out of my system" instead of maybe making the choice to stop playing a game that induces such rage and anger inside you and do something else.

Or you can't help yourself other than getting this frustrated and angry from a game. And then you should seek professional help for anger Management.

Edit: I am sorry if I come across a.little harsh here but i just don't see any reason to use toxicity as a means to vent ones own rage or anger unto other in an extreme way.

League? Your opinion means nothing to me anyway

If someone can prove it's actually censoring things it shouldn't, and there's no way to change that, I'll consider supporting that. However, for what you want to do? No. The whole point of the censor is that it blocks exactly what you want to use the chat for.

    This community is wack now

It's your choice how to process your emotions. Personally, when a game is getting to me, I just stop playing it and go do something else.

And there you have it, your "choice" what I've been saying, make it a choice

  • @KerJuice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345111#Comment_2345111

I can see why you would be upset at the end of a match, but please understand everything you just mentioned is exactly why BHVR has the system in place. You’re entitled to your free speech, but it’s their platform and their entitled to protect their “sensitive” players (as you would call them). I’m sure there is something in the EULA we had to consent to regarding communication. That box we had to check off before we can play.

‘And think about what you’re saying- you want to be able to curse out players in chat for poor performance or scummy play, and it doesn’t matter if they have their filters on to see it?? That’s not healthy, hermano.

As I've said over and over yet I seem to keep having to repeat myself, make it a choice, where is the harm in a choice to see it. As for the "thats not healthy" ever heard of rage rooms? It is healthy to get emotions out, they're stupid little emotions from a game so its an easy vent of a little line in a chat. If I don't get that then I'll get my satisfaction from a toxic game as killer, which do you prefer? A line of chat people don't even have to see or a 10-15 minute game of 4 players who have to suffer slugging, camping, and tunneling to make them possibly rage quit or as many people I know have done they simply stop playing the game altogether because that stuff is too common and its annoying.

  • No no, the only difference from now was it protected both people

  • @KerJuice said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345075#Comment_2345075

The reverse can work as well. Those same ppl could argue it’s not that serious to have a clean word censored. “What’s the big deal- find a synonym.” Turning it on or off wouldn’t accomplish anything. For your clean word not to be censored, you would need to turn it off and the people in the chat as well. And even if that was the case, you wouldn’t be able to tell who actually saw your clean word. As for the profanities- same thing. If you drop the F bomb, how will you know the other four people in chat saw it? They could all have their filters on. What’s the point of you seeing your own curse word when you typed it? Why would you want to see someone else cursing?

I apologize I’m not trying to be combative. I really don’t see an issue with it. My guess it’s there to cut down on the toxicity. Some ppl are just flat out lazy and can’t be bothered to take the extra 1 or two steps (like putting spaces in between letters) to circumvent the censoring. And if by them failing to do so makes chat less toxic, I’m all for it. Regardless of toggling an on\off switch.

Its the big point of free speech. Let me say what I feel like saying whether its particularly nice or not. If other people can't see it then wonderful, I got out my little gamer rage for that match from whether it was camping, tunneling, flashlights, gen rushing, or whatever else. If they got to see my insult great, they know they're scum. If they didn't see it then cool they move on happily. Everyone moves on how they wanted to. If I instead see something stupid and not even an insult or a profanity get censored, now I'm annoyed, maybe I was already annoyed, maybe now I wanna be toxic because censors are dumb. (stupid jump I know but hang with me) Now instead of saying something in a chat where people can press continue or even keep a censor on to be toxic I'm in an actual game, camping, tunneling, ruining someone elses game and making them hate the game.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345085#Comment_2345085

Never had any of those words censored.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345087#Comment_2345087

I haven't seen dumb stuff censored, though. People claiming that dumb stuff is censored? Absolutely. Actual proof? Not so much. Every time someone says something is censored, someone else will have a screenshot of the words not being censored. So, I ask you again, what, exactly, is being censored that shouldn't be?

PS: Even if there is stuff being censored that shouldn't be, the right course of action would be to make a bug report so the devs can improve on the censor. If the devs took your "throw the baby out with the bath water" approach, the entire game would be deleted due to bugs.

Okay first off, I don't remember many specific examples nor do most players because we hate the censor as a whole so why would we care about these little things, second since you must have an example, in a game about killing people I said something with "kill you" in the sentence. If the sentence goes "kill you" it censors whereas if its "kill us" it doesnt, so a lot of those things where people were like "mine says it though" is probably minor differences in the order of words. Third off, there is a huge thing you keep ignoring when you say to not get rid of it which is that I asked for the option to turn it off, that doesn't get rid of it, it provides a solution for the sensitive people, and it would please the majority of people who hate these censors like myself. As for the legislation, no I don't know it, why would I know that, therefore I left it pretty heavily implied that I don't know so heres a solution that should more than highly likely satisfy it.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345083#Comment_2345083

Do you know what the legislation is in that regard? What you feel about the situation may not correlate to the facts.

Man, its almost like I provided a solution that most guidelines are okay with. The only ones that aren't are things for children, which idk if you noticed but a game where people are killed every round isn't exactly super child friendly

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345075#Comment_2345075

Nobody likes to be insulted, though. That's not being "sensitive", it's normal human behavior based on normal human emotions.

What, exactly, do you need to say that's being blocked by the censor?

As I said, lot of stuff thats dumb is censored, just random things that I'm like why even. And as I said as well, if you don't like it then leave the censors on or press continue. Move on, why is it forced on everyone.

  • @GuyFawx said:

my guess is that it had to follow certain esrb guidelines so not really something behavior has any control over

While valid, I feel like in an "adult" horror game (take adult with a huge grain of salt obviously) they should be allowed to let people turn off censors and not be in trouble. Having censors as a default would be a safety net, a warning to turn them off if needed saying "you must be 18 years of age," and they're more than likely fine for stuff like that.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2345060#Comment_2345060

Original BT made it so going after the unhooked survivor was always the better decision. It incentivized tunneling and rewarded people for bad saves. Why would anyone go after the guy who takes three hits to go down instead of the one who just takes two?

You're absolutely right but it still countered bubba. I didn't say it wasn't a needed nerf, I said it was nerfed really hard.

  • @KerJuice said:

The pros outweigh the cons- just let it be.

What pros? "I didn't get called the b-word"? If people are too sensitive to see words then they can press continue and not see the chat, if they want to chat but not see that stuff then leave the censor on if that were an option. There's no downside to letting people say what they want other than people getting their feelings hurt for leaving censor on and even then thats on those people.

  • @ich_häng_mal_rum said:

I think it’s important for a fair, balanced and fun match, that every gamemechanic have a counterplay. But a facecamping bubba ruin the game for this person on the hook. I know the devs and some player say „just do gens“ but it’s just unfun and frustrating for all players and shouldn‘t be the solution... I would be glad to see a perk in the future to handle such situations in a fair way. For example with a perk, that has a a timer which activates if the killer is 20 seconds near 16 m to the hook, so the survivor can selfunhook and gets bt for 8 seconds.

Maybe there are other ideas? Or what do you think about facecamping on the first hook?

Its tragic to see this post because this is what borrowed was useful for for the longest time. It used to protect both the rescuer and the rescuee but they nerfed it really hard.

  • @GoshJosh said:

There are a few factors about Lightborn that are problematic:

    • It provides zero feedback that it is in play.
    • It completely negates the use of an item altogether. No counterplay, rendering flashlights useless unless it is a Wraith, Hag, or Nurse. Can't think of any other perk that does this.
    • It punishes you for using an item for its intended purpose.

Instead, it should only increase the amount of time and/or battery life required to blind.

I enjoy that a few others already replied to this and said mostly what I wanted to say as is. I just wanted to add that its already a very rare used perk because the community generally deems it low tier when many other perks could be used. Making it so its not a complete immunity like it is would make it so that truly no one uses it because now you want to take away the only useful part of it. Not to mention your argument about "punishes you for using an item for its intended purpose." The only time that extra reveal has ever helped me punish a flashlight user has been on the ones who just taunt with it for no reason, only ever follow the chases for saves not helping their team with gens, or try to blind me while I'm breaking a pallet which is already keeping me there. There shouldn't need to be a counterplay to lightborn when lightborn is the counterplay to the lights.

  • @TripleSteal said:

This post is quite literally the first lightborn-related complaint I see.

Yeah its cuz I'm not complaining about lightborn itself, I'm complaining about the peoples response to it. Since basically no one runs it no one else gets this side of the complaint, they're just the ones mentioned in the post if anything.

I completely forgot that perk existed and haven't seen it in my matches for the past several months lol.

Exactly, no one uses it so people are like "you're bad for using it"

  • Same thing as another. You failed to read the part about "besides kyf so we can play with randoms."

I am reading what you are saying; it is a pipe dream. It doesn't exist. As to whether or not I play in competitive formats, I gravitate toward them. I live for them. I'm one of the most competitive people you are ever going to talk to here or anywhere else. Perhaps what is odd about me is that I largely am competing with myself. At the end of the day, you are all just Bots to me. I'm trying to beat my last best record, not you.

In regards to PvP games, I'm simply more pragmatic than you are in this matter. Games are not MADE casual by the designers. They are only as relaxed as the Players engaged in them. This is a huge player base in a PvP game. That means most matches are going to be hard fought by one or more of the people involved. The only time you are going to hit a casual game is when matchmaking puts you up against someone you should not be playing. That is reality.

I've pointed this out before, and I will again many times I'm sure. If you want specific limits, choose CUSTOM GAME and get together with like-minded individuals. You can play as casual/chill/relaxed/easy-going/etc. as you want. DbD has given you this mode already. Go use it. Quit trying to insist the rest of us have to cater to YOU. You have the option; use it.

God you really lack some braincells the more of your "arguments" I read, you have now pointed out the reason "chill" modes don't exist to you is your own tryharding in every game. With such a competitive mindset as you put it you could never really see how these modes are more casual. You are part of why those modes fail to be truly casual. You also once again fail to remember that we want something for with random people, swf is only those you know/invite. Its not the same thing.

I play all of those games. Their "chill mode" as you put it is no less competitive than the main one. Sell bridges somewhere else. :) Again, this is the game. It isn't going to change for lots of logistical reasons. Let me explain:

    1. The spice must flow. Please forgive my inner geek coming out there, but that analogy is the nail on the head. This game only works with there being enough Killers to Survivors so that the Ques don't grind to a halt. Breaking the game into multiple Ques will dilute the Player Base which is why they haven't fixed a more PRESSING problem of the SWF. They are adverse to breaking up the Ques into more than one because it is hard enough keeping one running smoothly. Do you see my point?
    2. Nobody agrees on what "Chill Mode" would entail. Nobody agrees on anything.
    3. All the games that have a so-called Chill Mode are lies. I play them too. They are still not chill.

Again, we circle back to my original point. This is the game. You accept and embrace it, or you find one you like better. There is no shame in saying, "You know what, I don't enjoy DbD, I think I'll vagabond on to something I do enjoy." I won't judge you. We won't even know you are gone. Those of us who do enjoy the game are too busy, nor do we care. What is important is that you find the right game for you. The success of DbD (and it is very successful) indicates that there are quite a lot of people who enjoy it. Why do some insist that it be fixed to their liking rather than the more practical realistic solution of them just finding something they like?

You keep saying go play another game but the thing is that dbd is such a one of a kind game you don't have the option to just find another. There's knockoffs and similar but nothing quite with the same style of play like this. Those other games while still not being "chill" do have a higher rate of being able to relax and not facing tryhards. Its not meant to be perfect its meant to give a higher likelihood of less sweats. Your only good argument has been about not splitting the player base too much.

there is no other competitive game that doesn't have a casual mode. There is always a ranked setting, and a casual setting. The only exceptions are battle royales which do not have a ranked mode of any kind in the first place, because how the hell would you matchmake 100 people?

the solution is simple. just limit add ons and items to the white and yellow tiers, boom, instant casual mode. Maybe slow gen and sacrifice speed by 15%. There you go, unranked, casual mode where everything is a bit more relaxed. It could still use your rank for matchmaking, but there would be no reason to sweat. It could prob give less bp too, for the sake of incentivizing the ranked mode, but it 1000% would work and should exist in some form

You know, thank you for actually having a decent response that provides a suggestion for a better way to work it. Much kinder than the other twats saying "go play another game" and "it wouldn't work"

  • Man its almost like you didn't read the part saying "aside from kill your friends" and "I want to play with randoms and still ahve fun"

I used to find just as much DS, DH, SB and such, and even more campers and tunnelers in around green ranks when I came back from long breaks, if your problem isn't the difficulty of your games but the quality of your matches, I find the best ones are around red ranks for survivor and purple rank for killer. A "Chill mode" would be a worse version of both in my opinion.

A "chill mode" would make it so that people aren't trying so hard to not lose rank and earn bloodpoints. It would just be for relaxing, modes like this while still having issues such as players taking the chill mode too seriously usually do make it more relaxing and enjoyable. As for the ranks there's a slight difference, green and yellow ranks may have more campers and tunnelers but due to lack of skill they are also usually easier to still get everyone out. Red rank versions are good enough that if they camp or tunnel then thats it, you lose.

Lose. That is how you get back to "chill mode." It is a problem that self resolves. I'm not trying to be snide. This is a PvP game and the better you play (in theory) the better your opponents are going to become. For the record, there is no such thing as a "normal" game. Every match is its own thing. This is the game; if it isn't your thing, there are other games to try.

Losing just makes you a smurf and puts you against players that are so bad its just boring. This didn't used to be the game. Back when it first came out and for a long time this wasn't how it was. Quit your snide remarks (despite saying you weren't trying to be that last line definitely was) because the game is just what the players make it, if this is your response as a player I see why the game has lost some charm.

Honestly, just play every match as "chill mode". Run fun perk builds instead of the meta. Youll have a lot more fun that way. There is no incentive to remain in the the top ranks and means nothing.

You can't take this game seriously; it's basically the team fortress 2 of horror.

The issue is, you try to play fun and you just lose super hard, going down in ranks makes the players so bad that its boring. Neither is truly fun.
