to be fair i wouldn't take people's opinions during post match seriously if you play casually. if you have a casual playstyle you'll naturally derank since high mmr is a total sweatfest and hooks are nearly impossible if you dont play a specific way with certain killers

Yes you are right my friend, thank you for the words <3

Practising Blight....It probably won't be tomorrow, next week or even next month. But you Will get better eventually to the point where even the strongest SWF death squads aren't a threat. Blight takes alot to master, but focus on yourself amd improveing and I promise you'll get there!! As for the bullying, not to sound like Dharr man...but if Survivors are taking advantage of your inexperience to make you feel like Trash...know that says ALOT more about them then it does you. The best players don't need to rub it in your face because they're actions do the talking. One other thing I believe its possible to close the chat but look about on the platform you play on for online privacy in messaging. Xbox allows you to turn off messages from strangers completely, I turn that on when I boot up the game and re-enable it when I hop off. See if your platform has something similar,

Unfortunately in game taunting can't be countered. All I can say is don't let it get to you and take a break if you get angry or upset, and dont sink to they're level. It's never worth it.

Best of luck on your blight journey!!! Cheering you on!:)

Hey thank you for the great advice. Really helpful and I appreciate it <3

I just started playing Blight too and I’m also terrible! I have just been practicing my rushes/flicks and not taking matches too seriously. Also bring NOED so you can down and kill any especially toxic survivors after the last gen is popped. as for the post-game chat comments, best advice I can give is just turn it off.

Thats awesome man! Thanks for the advice. What sens and dpi do you use if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but you just have to learn to switch off from it and not take it so personally. You have to remember this is an asymmetrical competitive game and you can't control or expect certain behaviors from other players. While it can be annoying having survivors clicking at you/teabagging etc., they're not breaking any rules and in an ideal world everyone would play "nice", but that's just the nature of online competitive gaming; it's certainly not exclusive to DBD.

As already stated in this discussion, try not to engage too much. When they're teabagging at the exit gate, go and get some extra points by breaking pallets/walls, using your killer power, snuffing totems etc, that way you get extra BP's and don't give them the satisfaction of taunting you at the exit. Remember, you also have the power to start the end game collapse, so if they're sticking round to play with you, simply open the exit gates to force them out.

Good luck! Don't beat yourself up and remember that some people are immature and get a kick out of taunting people via a game.

Thanks man great advice, Much appreciated

Mine is Coty_Baker. I never post it unless people want to come hang out. Otherwise I just post others. Lillith is rediculous with blight and is a great watch. And has a lot of YouTube videos that can help you. KaiZ is a 10k hour nerd and is pretty good with blight. Hes good at answering questions you may have. Or just to watch. I've picked up a lot from him. I'm by far the smallest streamer there of course. So I can probably interact the most. And I'm pretty decent at blight.

Thanks man, dropped you a follow <3

There is already plenty of good advice here I won't repeat it.

I just wanted to restate to remember that its only a game and while some people take it way to seriously, the goal is not to get tilted even in the face of really obnoxious play.

Obnoxious play, while not the most fun, is not always malicious and feeling attacked because of it is a recipe for getting angry at the game. Don't do it to yourself or let anyone else do that to you.

Abuse post game really is a problem though and should be reported every time. Its sad that people feel the need to do this over a game. Toxicity goes both ways but I do find you get a 10 fold increase of it on the killer end so there is gonna be more of it.

Take measures to keep yourself safe online and report what you can, hopefully we can one day have a better gaming community who can act like adults no matter what happens to them in a video game.

Great advice dude thanks, and yes we need some more positive vibes in online pvp games for sure <3

hey bud im in the same boat i hate when i get hooked camped and dude say ez with 1 kill its a bruh moment u gotta take the win and dont forget ur crown on the way out if your a survivor think like this, you literally made the killer give up to see you dead. If you're a killer dont even listen to the id*ots... i remember once when i gave a survivor hatch and the whole team that i killed said noob ez HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH like bruv i've never given someone a hatch after that... my best tip is to just ignore it real losers i mean i get them being toxic if you tunnel and camp but if you play normally like whats the point just say GG and leave!

    yeah exactly man, thank you

That sucks. I remember when I very first played Blight it was for a daily. I couldn't even work out how to do the rush properly. The whole time the survivors were t-bagging me.

Luckily, I seem to be matched with a lot of console players so I don't see a lot of end game chat. Thought I do have my profile blocked from comments and I never accept friend requests from randoms. I've once had a bad experience doing that and learnt my lesson.

    Yeah I feel you hahahahah

My advice is ######### them. Turn off the chat if you need to and keep practicing. And not for nothing. If you watch twitch at all. I play a lot of blight and you're always welcome to come watch/get advice. Also watch kaiZ play him. Or lillithOmen

Thank you man. I do watch Twitch and would definitely like to watch some blight gameplay so I followed Lillith Omen and KaiZ. What is your channel name? Would love to drop you a follow

It can be like that sometimes (most of the times to some actually e.e), but try to detach yourself a bit from the stress.

Whenever they start being scummy, focus more on the gameplay than on the players, try to see how you can outsmart them, or when you make a misplay, where you can do different to improve.

If you see a chase is not going well and the person is bothering you, just leave them, its mostly attention that these guys crave and wasting time with them only seems to boost their "edgyness".

If it all is just helpless in a match and they all finish the gens but seem to want to stay juicing and bothering you, I'd go and open one of the exit gates as incentive to just end the match and be free to move on. If they refuse to finish the last gen though, as the others suggested, try your best to learn how to master the killer while also trying to push them to end the match (either by doing gens or by bleeding to death or whatever).

Most of all, one thing I do and feel that saves a ton of headache is never letting that post game chat open. Whatever they have to say, insult or not, I don't feel like it really matters in general to my life so I just forget it exists.

If a match ends and you still get frustrated after all, which can happen, consider taking a short break, like for real it helps taking some time between a match and another, even when they end perfectly to your side. Maybe also try playing another killer just for doing some challenge or fun as each has their own mmr supposedly and thus the type of players may be a bit different.

Hope you can have fun times regardless!

Thank you so much for the comment man, I really appreciate that. Honestly you guys made me feel alot better about this stuff so ily guys. Also great advice I will definitely do that from now on.

Ahhhh yes, finally someone who actually wants to play a killer that takes skill instead of crying on these forums about how they got 4 manned out as legion on Fractured cowshed.. There are guides on how to play blight on YT but there are also other strong killers that take skill and are also fun to play like Hillbilly, Huntress, Nurse and spirit..

”It’s not about how hard you can hit it’s about how hard you get hit and keep getting back up” Because eventually those survivors will actually be fun to go against.

He is so hard but man is he fun. I love learning things that takes time to get good at. Thank you for the kind words and motivation dude I really appreciate that <3

Standard BM, like teabagging and seizure flashlights...you'll just learn to shrug off. It's annoying, it can get under your skin sometimes, but BHVR are totally fine with it so there isn't much to do. Make sure you turn Postgame chat off...almost nothing good ever goes on in there.

Out of game harassment - Make sure your Steam profile is set to private (or whatever console players do). Trust me on this. Unless you want your Steam wall looking like the door in a men's room cubicle, DbD is the game to go Private for. People in this game can be...unwell.

People taking the game hostage - The only thing you can do is AFK or DC. I've had groups like this from time to time, generally doing a 'let's make the killer DC lul' thing on stream, who'll stack perks and offerings with the goal of refusing to do the final gen and then being virtually unhookable. Double locker flashlights are the most common way to do this right now it seems, since Boil Over was mostly fixed.

Apparently you can report them for it, but I haven't heard of anyone actually getting banned for this, even anecdotally.

Thanks for the advice man. I definitely set my profile to private after getting some vile comments on it sadly

    That is something.

As you play more you will see and learn more of the bully tactics. And some don´t work then anymore. It can be really satisfying to beat a bully squad.

You will face way too strong opponents in this game sometimes due to the current (not so good working) matchmaking system.

I know how frustrating this can be. But you also learn to know when players are too good for you.

Just try to relax then and not try too hard. This is the point what can really skyrocket the frustration.

If i get these death squads i go into chill mode, try to chase or so and try to learn some tricks as i also play Survivor.

I really like that idea actually. I’m going to start doing that. Thanks man

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

As depressing at it sounds, you have to get used to it. At some point, it becomes fairly meaningless.

That's not to say that it will never get to you once you reach that point. Nobody is made of stone. Still, it's probably for the best to quit your session then and there. You'll just get frustrated even more if you continue playing.

Of course, actual slurs are just straight-up bannable, so if they start throwing those you have an easy bye-bye button.

I see. Thank you for telling me. I got 315 hours in the game and it is mostly survivor and I haven’t really seen toxicity until I started playing killer. I have sadly gotten multiple death threats and racist garbage yelled at me (reported all of them ofcourse) Ty again for the message <3

If they won't do gens, just use that as an excuse to practice Blight. If they say mean things in the chat, close the chat or just learn to let people be ######### strangers on the internet you likely won't meet again.

Thank you for the great advice I appreciate it man. That’s a good time to practice indeed.

  • @Marc_123 said:

You have to get used to the toxic player squads. Try to take this not too serious or you may get angry yourself sometimes. This forum is full of examples.

Some people take this game way too serious and get really furious. Don´t be surprised. Ridiculous stuff there.

You also can close your chat on PC - helps a lot. On console you don´t have this problem at all.

Play how you like and don´t let anyone tell you how you "should have to play".

If you are one of the lucky chosen ones - become a god blight or nurse that can kill everyone and almost nobody will bully you successfully again.

Great advice man, thank you very much.
