  • Ok I found a fix in this down detector thread if you have att internet and you’re on ps5. Apparently it is an issue with psn. https://downdetector.com/status/playstation-network/

  • I literally cannot play dbd in the afternoon it’s so odd. In the morning it loads fine. No errors. The minute it goes beyond 6pm cst I can’t connect to anything even though everything else that requires internet on my ps5 works fine.

  • survivor incentive will be at 25% with 2-3 min match times but killer queues will be instant.

  • I wonder if this is related to the new central servers that are rumored to be added with the next mid chapter update.

  • it seems like it errors out around the same time everyday. I got on this morning and was able to play fine. Now it’s 730 central time and I’m getting the same error. Everything else internet related on my ps5 works fine EXCEPT dbd

  • I’m in west tn and have gotten this problem reoccurring for several days. Sometimes I can get in lobby and play a few games but then the server will crash, I’ll get sent back to the lobby screen, I click on a role and it won’t let me queue on either side. Ps5. This game is so cooked right now.

  • husk bug is still active in the ptb tho it has gotten somewhat better

    https://x.com/rayoxium/status/1877092824643993981?s=46

  • incentives have been bugged for a while.

  • I do my best to build around survivor and killer teachables as I feel the teachable perks are a part of the character lore. And we have 3 presets so focusing on one perk to build around accentuates a part of their kit.
I’m a spirit main and these are my favorite teachable builds for her (with a fit that I think matches the energy of the build.)

Shaman Spirit: Being the game’s original onryo, an all hex build feels very lore accurate.

    IMG_0192.jpeg

Brute Spirit: Being hacked to bits by her father feels like the same energy needed to resist and instantly break a pallet dropped on you

    IMG_0193.jpeg

Obsessed Spirit: one can argue that the only way you can master a subject in school is to be completely obsessed with it

Winter fire crackers are doing it too, I dropped one in a round today and got no hiss, just a bang and a blind.

This isn't the only audio occlusion error, some Killer sounds are messed up. I'm not hearing Ghostface's shifting straps for example (which although funny and beneficial to me as a Ghostface player isn't fair and should be fixed, they should be soft but not that soft) and many Survivors have for a while now had much softer breathing, footsteps, etc. Please normalize Killer and Survivor audio so there are no unfair advantages.

Hiss doesn’t start until I round the corner so I have no way to react to it in time.

I've never seen the thing you're describing not even on bully squads xD

I can confidently say that flashbangs don't hit you always, as long as you look up even standing on top doesn't do anything at all then (you can also turn away from it without issues). I give you the point that it's uncounterable while you pick up against a wall and dropped inside you, that's a thing that should be removed.

I present the still get blinded by a silent flashbang while looking up special. If I would’ve heard it I probably could’ve paused slightly but preemptively looking up and still getting blinded is insane. The perk honestly needs to be kill switched until it’s fixed since it’s clearly still bugged even though bhvr said they fixed it. some people don’t know, but the ones who do are abusing the current state and it makes killer unfun to play.

  • still getting blinded by silent flashbangs while looking up this game is a joke rn

    https://clips.twitch.tv/PlayfulMuddyPangolinKappaWealth-tzoaAuEjZPUKvPUZ
  • firecrackers are also still bugged. The occlusion makes them hard to hear and you cannot hear them be dropped or hissing until you have a direct line of sight

  • yeah they’re adding 100% bp bonus to the queue presumably because they won’t be able to fix it before the event is over. You can still use the offering to get snowballs and spawn extra chests

  • bugs bugs bugs. All the other stuff is manageable but god the bugs make the game So unenjoyable to play for long periods of time.

  • Crazy because we shouldn’t expect things to break with each new update. Sometimes I wonder what a better game studio would do with this game.

  • spirit main here holding out for hope. The husk bug was crazy because so many ppl during the ptb were like surely this won’t go to live servers. I’ve been wanting to buy the new cozy break cosmetic for her but won’t until she’s fixed. Best case scenario is a late q1 fix imo but all of these bugs in general should make BHVR take serious pause in their current philosophy of content quantity over content quality.

I'm sorry, but you have no real clue what you are talking about. About as much as Tru3.

Blood Favor is usually banned in comp because it is ridiculously strong, and whenever it isn't banned it sees ubiquitous use.

Because I like to speak in facts rather than anecdotes and things pulled out of nowhere, you can look at the most-used killer perks of DbD League's recent All Hallows' League tournament (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12AncFXVhL2sEuJMS9s4CgZx3FQkyTNXCrwNujucSP6g), a tournament in which there were much fewer restrictions than usual:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KL4M56FE4PJC/ahl.png

Wait, Blood Favour is the 3rd most-used perk here? …And that's despite Pentimento being banned?!

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OISTP0BKMCDZ/ahlbans.png

Wait, killers have banned perks too? And even more per-killer perk and add-on bans?!

Aren't survivors infinitely OP and killers can never win if the survivors are barely alright at the game and actually just do gens???

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NQ6R5V80QF3A/killpergame.png

Wait, the vast majority of killers got more than 2 kills per game, overall average killrates being comfortably above 60%, average hook stages comfortably above 8, with some of the killers having 80+% killrates?! And this against death squads on voice comms that have been practicing together for years and are toxic tryharding?!

    …

Blood Favor, Devour Hope and Pentimento are extremely impactful and powerful perks, and the ability to fortify them using Thrill with 70% reduced cleanse speed was blatantly problematic. That's not even mentioning Face The Darkness or the various killer abilities, add-ons and perks that could legitimately make it impossible to cleanse.

Ruin is also much better than people tend to give it credit for. The regression is slow, but the fact that gens regress constantly is crazy. Imagine the time you would have to spend kicking all those gens constantly. It's a slow killer, but a killer all the same. Of course, you need to actually create pressure yourself for it to be really impactful, it does not do its job on its own.

Crowd Control is really potent now and not a lot of people have caught on to just how potent it is after its buff. It's another thing you regularly cannot afford to leave up.

Third Seal is also a very underrated perk. Against non-coordinated groups this can quickly cause massive mayhem, people wasting minutes looking for others, bleeding out, transitioning hook stages or dying on hook. Not to mention what it does to perks a lot of survivors (again especially if they are not in coordinated premade groups on voice comms) rely on, such as Windows, Bond, Kindred. People just don't use this much, but trust me, this perk would be up there as the most complained-about, most problematic thing in the game if players were to regularly use it and slug a lot, particularly of course on killers such as Nurse, Blight and Billy. Awful game experience for just about anyone but the best, most coordinated voice-comm 4-SWFs.

Tru3 here really shows the "power of narrative": He loses Thrill after not checking on it at any point, and spins it into a narrative that it's not OP and that it being overtuned is just something people randomly decided to come up with and tell stories about like they apparently constantly do. …After it was nerfed from 70 to 50%. Because it was clearly OP before. He also 4ks at 5 gens left but doesn't attribute any of it to the time survivors spent cleansing and taking hits for the first cleanse, and the compounded value of setting up Pentimento on the totems the survivors had spent that time getting rid of. Nor does he think about the fact that had he went there even just 5 seconds earlier, he would have interrupted the cleanse, meaning that survivor would have wasted 30+ seconds for nothing, and still taken a hit for it, with him then potentially being able to have Penti + Thrill up (at 5 tokens again, too).

Thrill is in a good spot at 12%. It's still a decently strong perk. Just not overpoweredly so, like it was at 14%.

forgot about 3rd seal it’s a solo queue stomper. Not being able to see teammates hooked and you didn’t pay attention to the initial hook bubble often means a free hook state to second stage or to the arms of the roach king.

Haunted Grounds doesn't count, it's different kind of hex and you want it to be cleansed, the other 3 are not high reward, there are stronger perks that you don't have to risk losing 30s into the match

Yall are talking just to talk now it’s ok to be wrong.

Niche, mid, very mid, incredibly mid. BF works well on some survivors but smart folks know how to play around it. It is a godsend on Game at least.

There's a reason BF is not and has never been meta.

The rest of these are kind of a fart.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3857115#Comment_3857115

And yet you never see it in any sort of top level or tourney play, even where other perks are restricted.

Why do you think that is?

….because balancing and rules in comp are different. haunted grounds and blood favor are generally banned.

why do you think that is?

Haunted popping at the right time can allow you to snowball so hard. Very satisfying when it works like that.

Annnnnndddddd then there's the scenario when you're chasing an injured surv, it pops, and then you down them and the rest hide & wait it out. Basically the definition of the high risk high reward potential. It's that potential that needs to be carefully balanced.

It popping when you’re chasing a healthy survivor or there’s a surv on hook is so satisfying. HG + Retribution can give you even more value. Totems give you even better rewards when combined with a goal in mind.

    NOED and Blood Favour

Both perks can give you free downs I'd say that's high reward

Blood favor so slept on. Shutting down one of the main chase resources ensures pressure through fast downs.

Name two totems that are high reward without mentioning Devour.

Blood Favor, Crowd Control, Ruin, Haunted Grounds. There’s 4.

The "overriding" sound bug, that has been happening for months, is still happening too. Killers used to be able to easily hear survivor footsteps from behind a wall, while the chase music is playing. But now many of the killers have chase music that just completely deletes the footstep noises, even when I'm blasting my headphones at max volume.

And this has happened for months too. And there was a bug report months ago, but it was under review for a while, and now it has disappeared.

Audio occlusion is a hot mess rn.

  • @Brokenbones said:

But he's running pentimento…? A perk that wants survivors to cleanse hex totems and is much stronger than ruin…?

And he won the match with Pentimento staying up most of the time…?

    4K5

3 injures and a down for 2 two totems. I’d say thrill did some work this game creating pressure.

  • Totems are high risk, high reward. Thrill isn’t meant to make hexes permanent, just help you get more value out of them. That’s a minute not spent on gens. Also it’s not like that’s gonna happen every match. Here someone was prepared. It is what it is.

  • map is not great for tracking on killer. Footsteps are eyrie 2.0 without the weird ink sounds. The different elevation on some pallet loops makes some killer powers difficult to use. Map is ok gameplay wise. Good size. Map as a whole is just ok to me.

I've made a new forum post, I even complained on their Discord Server and people got mad and told me to stop complaining and just fill out a bug report ?? LOLOLOOLOL AS IF I DIDNT TRY FOR THESE PAST MOINTHS ??? "yes but it takes time.." no, it doesn't take years, bubba has a bug that's been in the game for 3 years, so we can already give up on nurse

def understand your frustration. I think spirit is getting the same treatment as well.

  • One of the biggest content creators for your game telling you that you need to devote more resources to fixing bugs shows that this needs to be done.

    https://youtu.be/RQtf9jXChag

    https://youtu.be/RQtf9jXChag
  • It’s been a month and a half since this was reported is there any news or timetable for a fix?

  • This bug has been in the game for almost 2 months with a bevy of other general sound and occlusion bugs. Is there any update on this?

  • would be nice for them to put spirit and other killers under the known issue tab finally.

  • Offerings being bugged and servers sending you to narnia has dampened my enthusiasm. I hope they can fix these issues soon.

  • if all variables are equal (skill, best perks, everybody trying hard etc) without maps coming into play, the game is survivor sided and has been for a long time. (3k hour surv main starting to play killer more often. 7-800 hours)

the real decider of most public games is maps and map rng.

The game is balanced around bad survivors since that is the majority of the player base. Casuals don’t care to get good and that’s fine. But teams that do care get to use the same perks and do so more effectively.

that doesn’t mean that killers can’t win the majority of their public games, because they can, and pretty easily because the average surv is just bad. You rarely face the top 1% of people in the game and it’s definitely not consistent due to mmr.

Top 1% of survs vs top 1% of killers on an actual balanced map, survs will generally win those games except for s and some a tier killers.

Tl;Dr yes game is surv sided but average surv is too bad to actually showcase that and maps decide much more than people think at the beginning of a match.

  • sucks that this is just a bug because that black bubble blocking auras makes zero sense.

  • can confirm happened to me as well today

Couple years ago they did a mid-chapter patch that was only bug fixes. No killer power/add on adjustments, no perk adjustments. Just bug fixes. The Nurse got a ton of bug fixes in that mid-chapter. The forums were filled with people complaining that the mid-chapter didn't have anything new for them to try in the form of killer tweaks or perk tweaks like normally happens in a mid-chapter, it was just bug fixes. It was called a disappointing and boring midchapter.

After that BHVR won't do an only bug fix chapter, they'll always a regular patch with new killer/survivor and mid-chapter patch that has some sort of tweaks for people to try out new things. BHVR always said that a chapter or midchapter focusing on just bugs wouldn't go over well and those very vocal players proved BHVR right.

I’d even be ok with a chapter with half killer tweaks/addon passes and half bug fixes because a lot of killer addons are bugged too. I understand how ppl would think that it is boring with no new content. They could still release new skins with these updates, or new moris or limited time game modes. I think there’s a lot of things they could do to keep new things for players to do while getting the most bugs fixed possible.

  • I use a build with better than new, leader, and botany knowledge with a medkit and healing speed addons. Works really well in solo queue for medkit healing Injured teammates and getting fast heals myself if I’m injured. Would def be happy to see better than new be buffed.

  • @Mandy said:

A lot of this is due to FOV, if you've increased your FOV you also increase the angle that you can be blinded by.

I play at default fov and have been blinded by survs that are not on screen at all. I don’t see how this is a legitimate blind when you cannot see the survivor at all

    https://clips.twitch.tv/CautiousEnergeticFoxOSkomodo-XQTXXfbWswDm04dY

  • my personal fav builds (I build around killer Teachables and obscure addons when possible. The fits go with the builds too. Makes the whole process more fun for me as each build kinda has a different character)

Shaman Spirit (ruin, undying, pentimento, haunted grounds. Addons: Muddy Sports Cap, Rin’s Broken Watch. My “sweatiest” build)

    IMG_0192.jpeg

Brute Spirit (Spirit fury, enduring, brutal strength, agitation. Addons: Kintsugi Teacup, Kaiun Talisman. Some people use uchiwa. I think it’s a trap because ppl will start pre dropping pallets when they see you have spirit fury. I like the extra duration for being a little more patient in phase to get consistent hits. This is very much a “macro” play style build as there’s no gen slowdown, but agitation can help you defend key gens.)

    IMG_0193.jpeg

Chase Spirit (Rapid Brutality, Save the Best for Last, Rancor, No Way Out. Addons: Rusty Flute, White Hair Ribbon. Fast paced build that can finish chases quickly. Pressure the other 3 survs in Chase throughout the game then mori your obsession at the end o7. Rancor is a good information perk too so make sure you take advantage of the position info it gives you throughout the game. I will sometimes flex out Rapid Brutality for Sloppy Butcher, Surge, Languid Touch, or Franklin’s Demise depending on what I see in the pre-game lobby)

    IMG_0194.jpeg

Sneaky Spirit (Pop Goes The Weasel, Eruption, Machine Learning, Mindbreaker. Addons: Furin, Rusty Flute. This is one of my favorite build and it’s built around the Furin addon, but furin is currently bugged so can’t use it currently feelsbadman.)

Agree to disagree. Different perspectives are good to share though :)

Edit: But I also don't want to seem combative, so my thinking is this - I think that since looping wasn't intended and a lot of us got into DbD expecting a horror game, I would like them not to treat looping like a core aspect of the game, even when the game mechanics treat it as one. Personally, I wish the main game mode was more like Lights Out.

didn’t seem combative at all. We’re just discussing what we think could make the game better 🫡

  • @smurf said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3844123#Comment_3844123

I very much disagree with this. Looping is critical to learn, but shouldn't be part of the game at all. It was never intended by BHVR, but they just leaned into it since players discovered it was possible. It's existence really takes away from whatever is left of the horror aspect of the game for me.

I still like the concept of the game and play if for that reason, but running around a rock a bit and then doing some weird chase around windows is by far the least thematically appropriate part of it for me. I think looping should be gradually nerfed into the ground over the course of years and BHVR should lean into a more horror themed approach to the game. I know lots of people think chase is the most fun part of the game, and we all had to spend lots of time learning it, but I really find it the most boring part and would personally prefer tense, somewhat brief chases.

that’s your preference, which is fine, but it’s clear that while not intended initially in the game design, bhvr has leaned into looping as part of the base gameplay to prolong chases based on the design of perks, maps, and tiles. So if they’re making it a feature, they should give an idea of what the tiles are intended for.

  • @smurf said:

I like the idea of having more extensive tutorials. By the end of the current ones, you know how to do gens, get hatch, and maybe get m1 hits.

But I think tutorials shouldn't include looping, heal tech, tunneling, proxy camping, 360s, etc.

agree it shouldn’t include “techs”. They already include strategies in the tooltips so that’s already there. But base looping concepts should def be included. Check spotting and all that I’m fine with leaving out, but looping is such an integral part to the game that giving people at least a clear idea of what to do makes base gameplay better.

  • i reported the furin bug about a month ago. Really wish spirit would get fixed she’s so hard to play right now with all of the audio bugs in the game
