  • This is a great response from a killer! I’m totally okay with bleeding because like you said it’s a risky tactic and if you can pull it off, more power to you! I’d rather be bleeding so someone can come get me at least haha thank you for the detailed response because it really gives me insight on why you wouldn’t/would use any of these “strategies” and I can tell you’re probably a fun killer to go against!

  • I can definitely see how the competitive gameplay can be quite fun (when the surviving team actually acts as a team) but I’m not sure i could ever see hard tunneling and proxy camping as fun for anyone other than killer haha but to each their own! As long as everyone’s having fun

  • Wait, they joined 3 hours ago. That’s very sad that people make accounts to come on this forum to say things that harm communities.

While facecamping isn’t something I do (unless the game is over and I have no choice) the other strategies are needed to win against decent survivors. The only killer that can freely go for chases constantly is Nurse, which is why I main her.

I can see why the face camping when it’s your last resort. I’m not sure how tunneling is fun or warranted right off bat unless you actually have fun doing that. I’d rather have bleeding happen than anything else. I personally think if the survivors are more than just decent it’s warranted to slug, tunnel, etc. when you’re losing or down to 2 gens, but in my opinion it ruins the experience for everyone involved. Id rather everyone just have fun but I know it sucks more losing as killer than survivor.

Tbh I wonder the same, and I think the reason is that some people just value their own time very little, if not to say that some are actual sociopaths/sadists. I think it makes sense that people who are disturbed irl would particularly enjoy playing a game that lets be a horror killer.

I know it sounds exaggerated, but watch this.

While doing challenges, Hens found a killer player who was LITERALLY BLEEDING OUT THE BOTS:

🤣🤣 I totally agree! I can’t imagine just staring at a survivor on hook all game and getting joy out of it. To me it is a bit weird and not helpful. If the survivor on hook stays on hook and we get gens done or at least 3-4 and escape, what was it all for? 10k blood points?

  • Thank you to everyone who explained matchmaking and rank in dbd to me! Much appreciated 😁

I happen to be that type of person where I'd much rather wait 4-5min if it means I get a more balanced match. Win or lose..these matches that start within 30s to 1m are always so one sided...

I agree, I was just saying how it will take too long and I can’t play enough as I want to within the amount of time I’m able to play. It is what it is though lol

    That's a contradicting demand.

The faster/shorter the matchmaking, the worse is it is accuracy wise.

And matchmaking was already softened/removed for shorter queue times and you yourself already complain about useless teammates.

If you want really short queue times at any point then it might as well just be instant random grouping.

I wasn’t demanding but thank you

  • @Melinko said:

Pretty much everyone has covered it.

You either get better matches and wait a little longer or you get faster matches where you will be playing with people that are newer or over matched by the killer.

You can see it as soon as you hit the main menu, one side is going to offer bonus blood points as there is a greater need for that role, cue up that side if you want to go quick.

There is no quick fix for this one, short of an influx of players and them having a good experience and deciding they want to remain in the game and learn the game and working to improve.

Yes they have. I think you also commented on it last week when you called me entitled but thanks again.

  • @GensByDaylight said:

As a killer main, I don't really understand why killers even facecamp as its extermely boring. The only time I tunnel is when someone is dying to be chased, i.e. BT bodyblocking or 3 gens pop in under 60-70 seconds(which is very rare).

I believe that most killers tunnel at 4-5 gens due to either a desperation to ensure a win without any resistance, or they just enjoy making the other side suffer. Its actually kind of sad...

Killers who facecamp at 5 gens cannot be helped...

I would imagine it is extremely boring and when a survivor says something about it, they get attacked by killers saying “do gens then”. Which is basically telling me to be a toxic surviving partner and not try and unhook them. If I do gens instead, I am toxic or the survivor on hook will kill themself and the game is just horrible haha I just don’t see the point or where the fun is with using these “strategies”

I agree. Winning is no small part of the game but playing like your life depends on it and getting to a 1000 win streak is not worth it, if you are not having fun.

Unfortunately, there are players that have fun playing in a way that is best described as toxic. That doesn't mean that we should sink to their level though.

Totally agree. Theres nothing we can do but still play and have fun!

  • @Caiman said:

I think it's poor design that the bonus BP is awarded only to the survivors who finished the generators, instead of being given to the whole survivor team.

Or when you basically have a gen at 90 and someone comes up and finishes it and you don’t get the event bp for that gen 🤣 I think this event was an after thought and just thrown in game.

  • @Akumakaji said:

No, but neither is splitting up on gens 2s after the trial starts. Both playstyles are the optimal one, and botj back he other side against the wall, forcing them to step up their game and play more optimal themselves, or perish and get ridiculed "gg eeeeez".

The community optimised the game with not much wriggle room left. What the game needs would be a big reset, right now he killer is screwed if they allowed to enter 3gen stage with 4 survivors, but with 3 gens popping first chase, tunneling is basically their only option, baring massive survivor misplays at the start. And with killers ob high alert and out for blood from the start, survivors have to push that gens asap.

We need a system overhaul: killers needs fo get more out of hooks without killing anyone, feeding the Entity survivors hope in the lore, but doing so isn't supported by the system. And right now ganging up on gens is discouraged, splitting up is the way to go and genetates trippel the amount of pressure.

If they changed this, ie getting killers to go for 8 hooks before the kill and suevivors to do one gen at a time, then the game would be in a much better state, but as of now its a deadly race to see which side can tunnel their objective fastes.

I honestly am not sure what game you’re playing where survivors get 3 gens during first chase, but let me in the game? Lol I just don’t see this happen as much but I also don’t play as killer. My best solution would be to use corrupt and if you aren’t getting the survivor in your first chase, leave them and go to the gens where the survivors are. Getting 3 gen’d during first chase may a you problem and not in a mean way. Just saying it’s rare to see that happen and when I do play as killer rarely, if I’m not getting a survivor in chase I will leave them and find another.

  • I think the “gen rushing” is happening because of this event. People, like myself, are coming in to the matches with toolboxes and builds specifically for gens with the intention of doing gens because of the event. If I play normal without the offering or going for gens I can probably come out with 20-35k. If they didn’t make the offering for survivors rely on gens only, things would be different. I think I said in a different comment that the whole event is based around BBQ&C and survivors doing gens, if that makes sense?

  • I went against a TTV streamer and the guy dc’d and then started calling all of us slurs. I immediately reported him and he was banned. Not much you can do I personally have never heard of people targeting the lgtbq community (which I am a part of) on dbd, but I may have not had the same experience as you.

  • Can we please stop complaining about the survivor perks? If you want to try and nerf every survivor perk, A LOT of people will stop playing. I understand some perks can be good, but if you want to talk about nerfing survivor perks, please also give examples of killer perks that could be nerfed as well. I’m seeing too many killers say “nerf this perk” “nerf that perk” constantly, but will never say that a killer perk is too good. Spine chill, PTS, dead hard, etc. every perk survivors use killers will say it’s unfair. As for adrenaline, the perk only activates once the survivors get all gens done, so it makes total sense to get a little reward especially since you're gambling with the perk to even make it to end game. Stop trying to get every survivor perk nerfed because you will eventually have a few live survivors and all bots. This game is not suppose to be easy. I’m at 1300 hours and I’m still not even that great lol

EDIT: Also, IMO spine chill is a beginner perk. I used it as a beginner because I wasn’t used to the game and was too scared lol but I haven’t run that perk in a very long time

  • I will say that this bothers me so much. I’ve had games where I’m doing so much work and the one survivor is just mad for no reason or because of something so small and they show the killer where I am. BUT I will say if there is a survivor who is clearly not doing anything, not unhooking, not healing, acting toxic towards their partners. etc. I will definitely point them out in the end game. It’s the same thing when you do all this work and then get on your first hook at end game and all my partners just leave when they are fully healed and have one strike or none. Unfortunately there’s nothing me or anyone can do other than the survivors that do these things.

  • I have played against singularity plenty of times and some are great and some aren’t. I think it’s all about the players gameplay and their perks. I also think it would be very cheap for the killers to have these specials and survivors not being able to do anything about it. The Xenomorph and singularity would be pretty OP if you couldn’t do anything about their powers, IMO. I think there’s just some really good survivors and killers out there because I’ve had games against singularity and some of the survivors just can’t go against him or know what to do. Also, not every killer is suppose to be easy to play with.

  • I have been using only toolbox builds because of the event offering only being for gens. I think that was the whole point which is why we see killers using BBQ&C and tunneling and camping more than usual. To be honest, this event isn’t that great for both sides. But it is nice to get some extra fun stuff and bp.

I have played 4 games today. 3 of them someone was tunneled out. I don't need my 4th games to also be tunnels. Most killers do not play nice and the game should not be designed around the idea that people will respect survivor players. Killers play as dirty as possible more than half the time, if you give them information on which targets are vulnerable, they will abuse it.

This is very true. I have seen an abundance of toxic killers recently and they would use the indicators to be more toxic not to be used for regular gameplay. 8/10 times I run into a toxic killer. I haven’t played with that many toxic survivors though.

  • @ThatRedPyramidThing said:

Game is survivor sided. Always has been. Always will be. Because I here are 4 survivors for every 1 killer the money is in the survivor side.

This is completely your opinion. I could say the same thing about killers.

  • @mustdogen said:

That's player base issue, BHVR can do nothing but make the range of rank being paired together more bigger.

Switch the role you play will be a easier solution.

I think my comment was taken down, but thank you for explaining it to me! 😁

  • They need to make her balanced out. The old tvs were too easy and now it’s been too challenging. I think they need to make it where survivors can see the TVs that are on within a certain meter range and increase the higher it fills. Just my opinion though!

  • I always feel bad for killers who really try their best to win and not be toxic and end up getting no one. I know it sucks to see 4 survivors escape so I will give them my item. I will only t-bag if they were toxic the entire game.

  • Isn’t it funny that we get a nerf on 100% BPs with PTS and get dumb bots, yet the killers get more BPs ultimately in the end.

  • @Shaped said:

I think dumb is a harsh word but I saw some killers from here and how they play. They complain about things they can definitely improve on but they just want easy games all the time to play on autopilot then complain whenever they missplay.

I agree. A lot of killers really think that this game should just be a breeze for them. As a survivor and killer I come in thinking every game is going to be tough. I don’t think that a win should just lay in my hands. Especially with all of the “strategies” of camping, tunneling, slugging, etc.

  • I have used windows only for challenges and to be honest it’s not that great. IMO it’s just a distraction sometimes, but like I said just my opinion

  • Do you know how many times I have been hit by killers while already out the window and running? A LOT. Killers have been having bugs happen that makes them gain power. So something of the sort happens to survivors and you’re mad? To be honest, I didn’t even realize with all of the killers lately who have been tunneling, camping, bleeding, slugging or just playing really toxic. I’m ok with some games being like that, but it has been every game on top of my matchmaking taking 10 minutes to get in a match.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

Take a break. Not wanting to play for something that's a pretty small issue in thebgrand scheme of things implies there are other things at play where this is the final straw, rather than the main catalyst.

I get what you’re saying, but it comes down to many things in the end. Survivors have been dealing with nerfs, tunneling, camping, slugging, bleeding, bugs in killers, playing the same killers over and over, corrupt, lethal, all the hex’s, etc. it’s getting to the point where if I can’t even get extra bps I’m playing a losing game. Do I get away sometimes? Yes. Do I deal with toxic killers and survivor teammates 98% of the time I play? Yes. It just keeps piling so I think that’s where this all comes from. If things were balanced between killer and survivors (the team as a whole) then I would agree with you 100%

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

I can't play Survivor without the Prove BP bonus. I cannot be bothered to turn the game on, just doesn't seem worth it. I hate feeling like this. Anybody else having this problem?

I totally agree with this. 10% repair speed whatever, but taking away the bloodpoints is just wrong in my opinion. Killers were complaining about the 15% repair speed, not extra bps. Even if it was 75% BPs, sure. I am usually iridescent one after a couple weeks and I just got to iridescent three because I just have not been playing much. If they are going to keep nerfing survivors perks and barely nerfing the killer perks, I might be out sadly.

  • To be honest, because most of the time the other survivors I’m matched with aren’t good at all or solo queue. Also, survivor perks are constantly being nerfed which contributes to less OG survivors playing.

  • Those are my thoughts exactly. I’ve talked to support and they just send me the same copy and paste message every time. I even asked if I could at least merge the other DLC content that came with it so I don’t have to spend more money for characters that are available in-store. They said they would investigate it, still got the same copy and paste message. Basically telling me “there’s nothing they can do” 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • also, if you disagree and are comfortable enough to share your answer I’d appreciate it! 😁 just trying to get a different pov

  • I do want to clarify I understand the licensing situation, but if you paid for it, you should be able to use it on either version.
