I mean for priding itself with being diverse and inclusive they seem to be awfully scared about acknowledging their systemic neglect for Female killers, of which 60% end up in the least top 10 played killers (compared to 10% of male killers) and are often described as left buggy for prolonged amounts of times with female killers having to endure 2 cancelled reworks already (Twins and Skull Merchant). They seem to have little problem neglecting female killers and they have no problem sexualizing female survivors either.

With there even being a male-mori bias where predominantly female killers have a somewhat sexualized mori (Nurse sitting on top of you, Skull Merchant touching you softly, Plague leaning in for a kiss but puking instead, Mina entirely), meanwhile male killers don't have such mori's often at all, where there's no "Trickster leaning over the survivor they're killing" type of mori with no physical contact, where only Ghoul has something that could perhaps play into the female fantasy. But moris overall seem be mainly focussed around male fantasies with guys not wanting to see a male killer have any sort of romantic connotations with them during the animation.

So for a "diverse and inclusive" game, it's ironic that all the same gender-type disparities, biases and issues in real life are even portrayed existing within the game itself, and a lot of their own claims are just signalling but the reality within the game tells a different story, which they have an awful time acknowledging and great difficulty accepting as seen in; The Female Killer Phenomenon — BHVR

Meanwhile Clown's out here sucking fingers, Pinhead sends you to his BDSM dungeon and Knight is running a train on you, but sure only the female moris are sexualised.

  • Please no reworks. All he needs is some buffs.

And no, the Iri addons should not be basekit.

  • Is this really a thing?

Tempted to start quick switching to Sable just to annoy people if it is.

  • It's probably my least favourite map. Played on it a bunch of times and I still have no idea where I am half the time.

Plus the flickering lights make me feel like I'm having a migraine.

  • What's the counterplay to the free hit?

  • One major downside to this would be that everyone would have to download a massive new update every time there is a PTB, regardless of whether they want to play it. Sometimes the PTBs are huge.

  • Pretty sure there is currently a bug where they appear brighter than usual since the chapter patch.

If you are playing on Ultra, I would recommend lowering your settings since High and Ultra will apply post-processed bloom that blows out the already overbrightened image.

  • I'd love a FEAR chapter, blitzing through maps and pinning survivors to the walls with my HV Penetrator weapon.

Probably not what you had in mind, though…

  • Overdrive for Bubba's chainsaw.

  • No, it's a midchapter so just balance changes.

  • He raided Otz shortly after this happened and the mods had to work overtime to keep his idiot followers in check.

This guy cultivated an audience of toxic children by chasing the worst excesses of the streaming meta. Streaks are inherently unhealthy and the fact it's even possible reach such an absurd number should be a source of embarassment for the developers.

People are using this to call for nerfs to Blight, and while I'd agree that he needs a few changes, the true culprit is hard tunneling and stacked slowdowns.

  • Map offerings now only give a 20% (I think) chance to go to that realm, instead of 100%.

    They're basically useless.

  • Honestly, it's better this way. When it's not a personal offering, killers bring a survivor pudding instead and then still benefit from all the survivor offerings while playing as scummy as possible.

The whole point of this event is that there is a separate BP boost anyway.

  • Please reduce (or ideally remove) all the flickering lights on the streets.

They look immersive at first but doing a gen while bathed in epilepsy-vision is just pure pain.

  • Burnout on killer? lmao no. I'm having a blast.

Survivor? You bet. Between the constant quad slowdown Blights and Ghouls, hard tunnel fests, hopeless 3v1s, solo queue QOL and teammates, as well as general killer toxicity, coming back to normal mode after 2v8 feels like I came back from vacation and now I have to go back to work.

  • According to the year 10 roadmap, All-Kill Comeback is considered a chapter, not a mid-chapter.

Presumably there will be a mid-chapter patch to follow, sometime in April.

It's possible the MMR rework will be included there. For such a fundamental aspect of the game, I'm more than happy for them to take their time with it.

  • I might be wrong, but I think in DBD it works a bit differently to most games. While usually you would use presets such as Quality, Balanced, Performance, etc., in DBD you can manually adjust the resolution scale to whatever percentage you want and then FSR (if enabled) will upscale the image with a slightly more advanced algorithm than if you used the resolution slider on its own. So, for example, 67% would be the equivalent to Quality mode, 50% would be Performance, but you can use whatever value you like.

However, bear in mind that this game uses FSR 1.0, which is really not very good and won't give you the kind of upscaling experience that you might expect from DLSS or FSR 4. It is a spacial upscaler rather than a temporal one, so there is no reconstruction of the image or ML-based anti-aliasing.

  • I wouldn't mind some sort of basekit Corrupt Intervention in this mode, not to help the killers, but to stop the survivors all hopping on the first gens they see and cleaning one side of the map.

It's like every game I'm standing there in disbelief thinking "You idiots did it again, didnt you…"

The rights of the Friday The 13th franchise movies are divided in 2, why you dont talk with the 2 parts to buy license of Jason, Tommy Jarvis, and other characters?

    Mathieu Cote reading this thread:

    simpsons-wow.gif

If you read into the history of the rights to this franchise, you'll know it's a lot more complicated than that.

  • This isn't a new thing, it's been in the game for ages (probably since the chapter launched).

It certainly looks and feels like an exploit but you'd expect it to be fixed by now if it was. Given how terribly designed this killer is, it's hard to say if this is intentional or not.

Go ahead and walk us through why you think slowdowns, which are already in an awful place, need nerfs.

If you would just cast your eyes to the second sentence that I wrote…

  • As long as it comes with massive nerfs to all other slowdowns, then fine.

But giving sweat Blights and Ghouls a fifth slowdown wouldn't be particularly healthy.

  • Seems like most killers are just treating the event stuff as an extra slowdown (to compliment their quad slowdown crutches).

The only time they engage with the event is to throw snowballs when you're on the hook (to bm) or while they are humping you (ie. spitting on you as they grape you, as one killer explained). It's crazy how much throwing snowballs in chase seems to tilt them. Like, go back to normal mode if you can't handle the whimsy, bud…

Thankfully I have had a handful of killers who weren't complete sociopaths, which was nice.

  • They need to announce their intentions regarding anti-tunnel (is it abandoned or will there be a v3?) and the Ghoul at the community stream on the 18th. Because my desire to play is hanging by a thread and I need a glimmer of hope that the devs aren't completely asleep at the wheel.

  • The ST2 DLC perks when they come to the shrine a few months later.

That is, assuming any of them are any good.

  • The alternative is doing gens.

  • Killers are still tunneling with impunity so I'd say it ain't great.

  • ST Vecna is just Temu Freddy. I don't know why anybody would want this other than the usual license hype without considering how it would fit into the game.

Predator would be fine. Wraith with a tri-dot laser blaster, optional thermal vision and spine-rip mori. You could even give him a unique end-game collapse with a self-destruct countdown.

I can't imagine anything less interesting than Bland Phone or any other Blumslop.

Although after Ghoul and Krabby Sue, I'll take anything as long as the gameplay is fun.

  • It would probably work for a few hours, until the sweats realise that the only reason they're so "good" at the game is because they get matched with average solo plebs all the time. As soon as they start getting matched against turbo swfs and comp giga Blights every game, they will skulk off back to casual queue.

  • Idk, I'd says taking jokes literally is pretty insane. Or should I say INSANE (note the caps, that means I'm super serial about it).

You guys pick the weirdest hills to die on, seriously.

  • The OG, of course.

If they did the goofy-looking new one from Badlands it would be even worse than having remake Freddy instead of Robert Englund.

  • I can see it fine, yes that's 100% a cheater.

  • Everybody I know stopped playing after the Ghoul was introduced. But really, that was just the final straw after enduring years of tunneling sweatzillas, gens exploding in their faces and trying to keep up with relentless changes and reworks to perks, addons, killer powers etc.

They might come back for 2v8 now that Legion is gone, though.

  • Survivors bring toolboxes because every killer is stacking four slowdowns (which continue to give value even in a 3v1 after they tunnel someone out).

They bring healing builds because all they ever see is top tier killers with high mobility and strong chase powers, so teammates last microseconds in chase and there is no time to heal normally.

Also, bear in mind that progress bar simulator (ie. gens and healing) is incredibly boring. Anything that speeds them up is automatically desirable. It's nice for killers because they are constantly engaged in the gameplay, while survivors have large stretches of downtime (especially if the killer is only chasing one survivor).

And the pallet update was a few weeks ago. Tunneling has been a problem for quite a bit longer than that.

You are also ignoring the causes, only looking at the symptoms.

  • Bring back the old Halloween event visual theme and menu music.

Back in my day, pumpkins were orange.

  • The free hit needs to be removed entirely.

All it does is cause problems and most people would rather shove a cactus up their ass than play against it.

  • Sometimes the HUD can be more of a hindrance than a help because so many people refuse to take Kindred in solo queue.
For example, someone is on the hook and I'm on a 75% gen not far from the hook. I'm the closest person, obviously I should go for the save. I decide to finish the gen and then go. My teammate (who doesn't have Kindred in solo queue because he's a complete dumbass), sees that I'm on a gen and decides to run from the miles away to get the save instead of doing a gen.

I've lost count of the number of times teammates have thrown games or played very inefficiently because they lack information.

Maybe one day the devs will make Kindred basekit like they themselves suggested many years ago. Until then, solo queue will continue to suck.

  • Before Shrek?

    I don't think so.

  • A new legacy cosmetic would be pointless because it would be super common, which would defeat the whole purpose of having it in the first place (wanting to show off something super rare). Nobody would use it after a couple of days.

  • Eye of Vecna style invisibility would be better.

  • It's way too much. Just played Father Campbell's Chapel and every single tile was a strong loop, connecting even stronger loops into main building into more strong loops into shack. They turned every map into The Game.

I don't know why more people aren't complaining about it.

  • Same on PC, framerate sinks and GPU temps go up by 10°c.

  • This is what I posted in another thread:

    • 10% Hindered for survivors after they escape a trap for x seconds
    • 10% Haste for the killer while a survivor is trapped (to get to the trapped fool faster, or to help in chasing another survivor)
    • Faster trap setting speed (Trapper Gloves basekit)
    • Shack doorways no longer directly trappable (sorry noobs, your lame-o gameplay needs to go)
    • Rework the Iri Stone to "All traps re-arm themselves upon hooking a survivor"
    • Rework Bloody Coil to "Survivors who disarm a trap are Exposed for x seconds"

Additionally, they could scrap the carrying capacity limit completely. It sucks having to set a trap before I can pick one up.

I would also rework the trap escaping mechanism. Rather than making repeated attempts (and potentially escaping on the first try), it should be a single, longer progress bar, like when you're trapped in a locker by Victor and it takes so many seconds to get out.
