How do you know killers are specifically harassing someone because they are the highest prestige player in the lobby?

Have you seen how many complaints are on these forums about killers tunneling? How do you know they just aren't tunneling someone because it's an effective strategy? How do we know it's specifically harassment instead of tunneling?

Also, why would there be so many killers that want to specifically target the highest prestige player? We get constant complaints of killers lobby dodging high prestige survivors, and logically, if a killer cared about prestige levels, then they would be targeting the LOWEST prestige survivor, since they would be the "easiest target".

i don't even know why are we discussing this, why you as a killer wanna see survivors prestiges pre match? why survivors can't see who's the killer or at least the killer's prestige? what differences it would make for you as a killer if you see or don't see the survivors prestiges ?

if you really believe that's a strategy i don't know what to tell you. many people showed that you can win almost all your matches without tunneling but anyway that's a different subject. i personally get the sweatiest matches when i play my P100 character and i get tunneled almost 9/10 out of them. many people shared the same experience when they play their P100 character. i don't get the same matches when i play a different survivor.

i get nodded at and slugged and tunneled very frequently when i play my P100 character. literally saw some killers throw their match just to kill me. some people thinks Prestige equal skill

i really don't understand why are you against this, it doesn't effect anything for you at all. why is it so much to ask for my prestige to be hidden from the killer

  • @BugReporterOnly said:

Prestige means nothing in regards to a person's experience. I've had P100 be jerks and never heal, farm off hook and work with the killer for hatch. Had P100 alao BM me on hook for being less experienced which isn't my fault the damn mmr put me their lobby. Alao had high Prestige hide all match. Prestige doesn't equal experience.

exactly why i want prestiges to be shown for all survivors only. prestiges doesn't equal skill but it will help people to not be matched with either more experienced or less experienced survivors.

So doesn't it make sense when low MMR killers don't want to play with high prestige survivors? It helps a matchmaking, right?

    So don't be a hypocrite....

killers can identify survivors based on their load out, cosmetics, characters. it's not that hard. high prestige doesn't necessarily mean it's a very good survivor, it only tells you that this player have spent some time playing the game. gives you an idea about the player. from a killer perspective you can tell from just seeing the cosmetics, etc.

and before you say survivors can also identify their teammates based on what i mentioned. yeah true but the main thing we are talking about here is killer. killers behavior towards the high prestige player is the main issue here and its what make people want their prestige to be hidden from killers so they can be treated equally right.

What kind of idea? Are you assuming their skills based on prestige? Its extremally unreliable in both direction but maybe more if you see low prestige character and assume them being noob.

it gives an idea that the high prestige player have spent some time playing the game so they are at least knowledgeable of the game unlike low prestiges who are new players and i shouldn't be in a match with them to ruin their experience.

Thanks for admitting that some survivors want to see prestige levels so they can lobby shop. This is valuable feedback for the devs.

what's the point of MMR then? what's the problem of wanting to play with people similar to my level? why would i go into a match with a newer players when i have over 3500 Hours? seeing prestiges from survivor perspective helps getting into a match with similar player level. there's no wrong in that. what's wrong is killers who specifically harass and target the highest prestige player in the lobby just because they are high prestige.

If prestige levels are going to be hidden from the killer, then they should be hidden from the survivors too. I’ve seen survivors lobby dodge because of a teammates prestige level… some people want to lobby shop for teammates that are “experienced enough on the game”.

lol you can't be serious. even if survivors do that it would make sense because a high mmr survivor don't want to be in a match with new players. it helps the match making actually

  • @Archael said:

Both survivors should have option to hide/show their prestige to other surv/killers. And killers should have option to see/not see survs prestige. This is what i was always posting.

But i have a question tho.

@nValentine "i made a lot of friends just by seeing a prestige 70 Leon or a Prestige 94 Rebecca." Why You couldnt made friends with prestige 3 Leon?

obviously because they don't main them?

and it was just a joke anyways the point is i like seeing my teammates prestiges and have an idea about them

I want my prestige shown and I want to show it off.

Here's hoping it becomes an opt-in setting. I have never been tunneled because of my prestige level. I doubt anyone these days are. It's just all copium tbh

I think having an option would be the wrong way to do it, it should stay as it was before but just hidden from the killer in pre match lobby, it should be shown for teammates otherwise you wouldn't have an idea about your teammates. i know prestiges doesn't necessarily mean they would be good players but it would give an idea that this player have some knowledge and played the game quite a little bit.

i personally love seeing other people's prestiges it make the survivors feels more than just a skin. there's no reason for a survivor to hide their prestige from their teammates.

i'm glad your experience was better than the rest but you can't say that it's copium. i Swf with P100 friends and all we see are tunneling Blights and spirit and sometimes nurses, it's very rare we get a chill killer because everyone dodges until those sweaty ones gets in. and even when i play solo i literally tested it to see the quality of my matches and every time i play my only one P100 survivor 9 time outta 10 it's been miserable.

    • I am pretty sure the recovery change is unintended.
    • There are 3 survivors to save not 2. Also it’s just a few seconds more to completely erase the killer pressure and yes, you have free perks to deal with this…if you don’t want to use free healing perks to heal faster it’s a choice and you will succeed more easily in other objectives categories. I don’t think the game is supposed to be balanced around 4 perkless survivors vs the killer. Devs are taking into account exhaustion , healing, and repair perks to balance. I mean, I hope so.

and you have free perks to deal with heals and make it way slower. why not run them instead of gen regression perks???

  • anyone have clue?

  • off the record was never the solution against tunneling imo. a smart killer will hit you off hook ( imagine if they had STBFL they will catch up in no time ) and it will make OTR useless since endurance doesn stack " which it shouldn't " the only problem old DS had was the free end game escape and a lot of people were running for that reason. revert it to 5 seconds and keep it deactivated end game.

  • the most important thing this game needs right now is buff solo survivors. it will create healthy gameplay. playing solo now literally feels like a 1v1 game

  • i really hope they do that!! the amount of time i used it on solo and my other teammates came to try to unhook.. it made the perk not worth running. solo players really need an actual buff because playing on swf all the time is so boring.

  • DS should be reverted back to 5 seconds, but deactivates end game. end of story.

*hell.... it should be even buffed to 2 time use like OTR. anyone who disagrees is a killer who likes to tunnel even if gens takes 140 seconds to be done.

as a killer you can simply never go after the one who got unhooked, if you do you it's your choice and you deserve to eat DS.

  • my Jill is P45, i hate spending bps. i wish there was a faster option to collect items randomly. all my bloodpoints went into Jill since the new system was introduced if i was more dedicated i would probably be P70 by now xD

I don't think everyone will use it again now that OtR and basekit BT exists, as well as it not existing in endgame anymore. It could be strong WITH OtR, but if the killer just goes for the unhooker then it's probably fine since they can't touch a gen for 60 seconds.

OTR is useless if you get hit off the hook, which is fair because endurance should not stack. killers got 2 stacks of STBFL basekit and combine it with the perk itself "STBFL" you will literally not gonna make it anywhere. DS was a good perk against tunneling due to the stun and it can't be countered. perks like that should never be changed because it's healthy for the game. it's not fun for anybody, not the person who getting tunneled, not for the killer themselves to chase one survivor the whole game and get a 1K at the end, and not fun for the other 3 survivors to do gens and escape.

i play both sides btw and for the killer side: Dead lock & No way out i hope they never change too because they are healthy for the game, dead lock stops gen rushing and no way out encourages you to get stacks and have a huge value from it end game.

  • @1800Bedtime said:

I think 4 seconds might be a good compromise. 5 seconds is a little strong for regular killers and 3 seconds is not enough to slow down high mobility or ranged killers like Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, and Artist. Even against regular killers 3 seconds can be not enough since most of it is eaten by the drop animation.

Basically DS is too weak against higher tier killers and buffed would be too much for everyone else.

nope, 5 seconds is the good balance. perks should be balanced towards the high tier killers not the low tiers. 5 seconds not gonna hurt a low tier killer like Clown because they can simply throw a bottle before picking you up to slow you down after the stun.

It's not the killers who are abused by it. Probably the hanging survivors are. And you explained also why killers aren't affected, so I don't need to repeat that. I never cared about Reassurance

personally i don't mind being paused on hook for the whole game if it means it will punish the killer and my 3 teammates will have a chance to escape. if you we are talking about holding one survivor hostage or toxic behavior or whatever, you can literally do that by body block them at a corner or if they get slugged never pick them up.

And let me explain even though I already did:

It's really annoying on Maps with different floors. RPD is bad enough but having people activate Reassurance above me with no nearby stairs is too much.

On normal Maps, Reassurance is balanced, on Maps with multiple floors, it's overpowered. If you want to buff it, you'd have to remove the overpowered aspects.

i still don't get your point? if you don't camp the hook you should not have any problem against it even if the pause timer lasts for 1 minute lol it's in your favor they are down by 1 on doing gens.

I was complaining about it. Its just another trade perk which will be abused to safe survivors who are dead on hook.

abused how? don't try to tunnel one survivor out of the game immediately and you won't have any problems with it. the only problem it used to have was end game as killers don't have other choices.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    "Don't camp !!!1!"

I wasn't even camping, I literally just finished the hooking animation, but go on, tell me how Reassurance is "bad"

    oh demo, i wasn't saying you're a camper :(

lol alright let me explain even tho i did ?

i've played with it and against it. and as i've said, on its current state it only encourage for more camping. 6 meters is so close it pretty much giving free hit (benefits STBFL) which will lead to a trade or just leaving teammates on the hook. 30 seconds of reassurance can be countered with 30 seconds of dead lock on gens, which will keep us on the same circle. the point of the perk is to force killers to split pressure which is the healthy way.

I wouldn't be against increasing its range and duration if it was unable to be activated while on different floors and during a chase

but that's the point of the perk tho, it punishes campers for camping. one survivor doing absolutely nothing should be in your favor so i don't see what's the problem of increasing the range and duration? you can simply pressure gens and other survivors
