It's literally designed for killers and their fun only.

You say that while talking about the ptb that did the same to killer. You don't want it fixed you just want to make killers miserable for a perceived slight
Awe, punishing killer for tunneling and slugging? What a shame.
-
They only care about what is inconvenient for killers. It's so freaking hilarious survivors have been punished for how long? Slugging, humping, tunneling......perks that punish survivors for doing the objective. It is amazing they would say that considering the suffering and punishing of survivors always faced when playing the game.

@Willish said:
It's telling to see the lack of community manager posts.. They were all over it when killer mains were crying. When survivors kick back, nowhere to be seen..
We know which side they love. They give filtered feedback to the devs which is why the game is so incredibly killer sided.
-
Survivors will never be able to do that. I mean, we literally have 20 min killer queues and we are still only listening to one side. All killers have to do is all complain and BHVR rushes in with familiar fashion and pacifies. It's sad really a game can be so badly corrupted.
-
A great update for a change. You can actually see they really worked hard on it.
-
There should be opportunity for the game to turn around.
-
Oh no, a dev team is trying to make one side of the game just a little less miserable, finally. And have player agency for a change.
I'm sure killers will be fine. You can't abuse a broken strat any more which is what I am reading.
-
I agree. It's more casual and way less stressful. I think people enjoy the game more during 2v8.
-
Considering people are waiting 30 min to play killer, there should be an outcry to heavily buff survivors. The game is very one sided so nerfing survivors is counterintuitive
-
You can't make a mistake if it's done on purpose. Everyone is saying Legion is a problem and they do absolutely nothing lmao. They don't care about survivors, plain and simple.
-
Understandable. Killer is more fun. Survivor buffs are still severely lacking. Who thought Legion was a good idea and giving Huntress permanent wall hacks in the game? All of these oversights are way nobody plays survivor.
-
Whatever happened to waiting and looking at data and seeing how players adjust?
Oh wait, I guess that only applies to killers, even if they are blatantly broken and unfun.
Survivors got the first item ever and it's already been nerfed into non+existence.
-
I hardly play anymore, especially survivor. They intentionally want survivor role unwinnable and unfun so killers can win all their games easily. Having no balance is the objective.
-
It's incredible how biased a dev team can be for one part of their player base.
-
The elitist wants the game to be killer sided so BHVR will never change from that.
-
It's really silly. BHVR wants killer to have no skill requirements though. Killers are balanced for sub 20 hour players to win easily.

That isn't the case here, though. Here it is the case of a killer who got unnecessarily nerfed and is constantly at risk of having her identity erased because of an unreasonable and unacceptable "hate train" caused by a problematic release, despite the fact that the problems caused by said release had already been fixed.
You know me, friend. You know I don't disregard the survivor experience. And, speaking as someone who enjoys playing as and against Skull Merchant, I strongly support a full return to her previous iteration, that we had before the nerfs.
You don't regard the survivor experience at all if you want old Skull Merchant back. It is really unanimous in the community that everyone hates her except people that loves to 3 gen.

Yes, it is not accepteble that devs on purpose destroy, overnerf objectively overkill a killer. That is not called balance changes, that's public execute. Plus I have no hopes for her and her future rework. It's either going to be disliked again or different power type of killer (dash-like, etc.) that will changer her identity.
As long as killers enjoy something, it doesn't matter how it feels to verse it, amirite?

I’m not a “‘main” anything. I play both sides. I have proven it with my stats, unlike you. Every time you have been called on out this, you just deflect rather than prove me wrong. The invitation always stands for you to provide evidence otherwise.
What is your escape rate, anyway? I’m very curious to know what escape rate is leading you to the conclusion that playing survivor is “impossible”. I’ve shown my stats on this forum - I’m right around the 40% average for solo queue. Many others have shown this as well. If you consider winning 40% of the time to be “impossible”, you’re welcome to that opinion but I think it’s a very unreasonable one.I don't bother keeping up with my stats but I know how it feels to play both. I would say I win one or two times out of ten and those wins are purely RNG, killer playing nice, throwing, etc. On the flip side I win a majority of killer games and when I lose it is because I played nice, too easy, etc.
If you a good survivor, 40% is not balance. Sorry but you should be winning more.
Bad survivors shouldn't automatically lose all their games because the game "gives" killer an automatic advantage.
It's a PvP game, not a power fantasy whatever.
-
It's very simple, survivor is supposed to lose. The game has a lot of situations like this where killer wins automatically. It's a game about one person having a default winning advantage.

Just the usual divisive “us vs them” garbage from survivor mains who claim that playing killer is “baby easy” even though they’ve never done it themselves before.
By the way, what is your overall escape rate, anyway?
Killer mains always love to say people don't play killer if they say killer is easy. If you win way more playing killer then by definition it is easier and you can conclude it is unbalanced.
-
Very much so
-
It's just the usual crying from killer mains where they literally cannot get enough handed to them. Survivor is already miserable to play, and it is baby easy to inflict damage to survivors and they don't want survivors to heal so they easy 1 tap. It's disgusting to say we are in a "healing meta" when literally survivors can't do anything else.

Not just that, but players that are having internet issues that get disconnected against their own doing for whatever reasons are getting treated like rage quitters.
I had internet issues and got bumped a few times a few weeks ago and had a 15min penalty. I just quit the game. Came back two weeks later, waited out the timer then.. (which is messed up) just to hit another disconnect for a 30min. I quit and then deleted the game from steam.
It's devious to make the player wait till he hits next game to get the timer. And more so to stay in the game for it to count down.
This will bite them in the end
They take players for granted. That has always been obvious to me.
The game is treated like hardcore serious mission critical no fun allowed rather than an entertainment venue.

That is kind of wrong. Some kill rates are way too high, and I can almost guarantee you that some are way too low.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/GGQEICD3FJ5U/dbd-stats-q12025-killerkillrates.png
Imagine if survivors won that much.
Seriously, only in DBD can there be that much unbalance for a PvP game.
Edit: The stats do not include people that DC. When survivors are losing and they rage quit, they are not considered. The kill rates are always higher than advertised.

@Sjady said:
So, apparently the game is super balanced, right? Then riddle me this — why is it that 90% of killers I see these days are either The Ghoul, Nemesis, or Dracula? Last time I checked, there were over twenty killers in the game.
Could it be… maybe, just maybe, because most players know they’ll get stomped if they pick anything outside of the top tier? So instead, they go for the “no skill required” options. The ones that carry you when you don’t have solid fundamentals or game sense.
But hey — the game is balanced, right? Everything is fine. It’s just a coincidence that everyone flocks to the exact same killers over and over. Totally normal in a healthy, well-balanced competitive environment. Nothing to see here.🤡
People use whatever provides easiest wins. You could argue the other killers are still too strong but if they are not as strong as x,y, and z, people use x,y,z because they are even easier.

Can you win consistently as killer? If so, your kill rate stats should show at least 75% kill rate. Are you actually going to back up what you are always saying, or are you going to continue throwing out baseless claims backed up with zero factual information?
Yes, I find killer mind numbing easy and survivor is near impossible which is very stupid, balance-wise. Why is killer, the person that plays alone, not a skillful role?
Why do you need more proof? There are plenty of killers that post their winstreaks and boast about it. Survivor? Not so much. People are too scared to try it because skill simply means nothing for survivors.
-
They balance the skill floor for survivor there. With killer, it is balanced so beginners can win consistently.
-
Whatever they do, they'll be game design exploits put in place so killer players can still grief and ruin the game for other players, and hijack their wins.
It'll be just like how borrowed time was the answer to tunneling.

What kill/escape rate would be acceptable to you? I’m perfectly fine escaping 40% of the time as survivor. Escaping isn’t supposed to be easy.
It should be balanced so better survivors escape more. When you have killers that win literally thousands in a row then there is a very serious balance problem.
We already know new survivor is the hardest and killer can easily 4 K.
I have played enough also to know 40% is inaccurate. Whatever the percentage is very wrong for a video game. There is not another video game with such horrible balance.

I agree 100% that the tombstone add-on is busted and miserable to go against. But that has nothing to do with the accuracy of the kill rate stats.
It's the same psychology. The kill stats are so polished and then pretend killers killing 60+ is balanced in a PvP game with MMR. This is a multiplayer game, not single player where only one side is supposed to win by default and have fun.
There's a reason why survivor role sucks and people don't play it.

You don’t believe the kill rate stats because of…a Myers add-on? What?
Well, if you read what I said it would make perfect sense. Double standards to balancing and business profiting. There is no world in the universe that would make sense for an addon to be that broken (pay 2 win).
-
@Brokenbones said:
What bothers me about the rationale about nerfing addons as described by Mandy is it doesn't seem to always be applied.
In what world is Myers killrate with Tombstone Piece not way higher than without it and how has it been left in the state it's in? I know this seems like a petty complaint but it really bothers me how (imo) quality of life addons like streamers get nerfed but game breakingly frustrating addons that can take players out of the game without a single hook get left unchanged.
I think it is the P2W nature for killer. People will buy Myers to do that. Imagine if survivors had a DLC that can bypass a huge part of their objectives?
I never believe anything devs say about stats or kill rates because of that.

What nerfs? As far as I can tell Behaviour is trying to improve the SoloQ experience, the hud changes, adding anti-camp mechanic, survivor meta being in a really good state rn etc. The only thing to correct is map balancing and matchmaking imo.
And no, playing in a 4man is not the only right way you can play dbd as a survivor, stop the cap.
They have been nerfing survivors and constantly buffing killers for like 9 years non-stop. Anti-camp? More like stand a few more meters away. I don't know how you could be so disconnected from the game.

What is your escape rate?
Well, it really depends. If it was a cracked Blight, we would basically never see the gates opened. On average, 1 or 2 out of 10. The gates being opened is really dependent on how terrible the killer is.
-
It should be evident by now that it is not intended to play survivor solo. In fact, I would say 4 man SWF is the only way. They neglect, continue nerfing, and enforcing punishments, rules, and adding more and more unfun play styles to pigeon hole you to basically avoid survivor at all costs unless you play with friends and even then they are likely to leave you to play by yourself.
-
This game is just all about killers winning, having fun, and worst of all killers rubbing it in. And BHVR supports it 100%.
I tried playing some games and killers win every single game. It's honestly an embarrassment on gamers to support such a grossly unbalanced mess.

I think it’s funny that people pretend like solo queue is impossible instead of putting in a little bit of effort to get better. As you can see, my total play time is pretty low, indicating that I am a very casual player. Seriously, I’m not that good. Yet somehow I manage to escape over 40% of the time. It’s not that hard if you put in a little bit of effort to improve instead of constantly complaining about how “impossible” it is.
Why don’t you show us your stats so we can see whether you really are never escaping or if you just have unrealistic expectations for the game? You’re not supposed to be escaping a majority of your matches.
Fully expecting a lot of downvotes from the usual suspects who aren’t happy unless they escape 95% of the time.I do know Photoshop exists and/or you can play in like a sweat SWF to get those numbers right? Solo is more like 10% escape probability and those are dependent on the killer literally letting survivors escape. Only killers demand 95% win rates and BHVR protects them for that because it's the only demographic that really matters in the game.
-
I think it's funny when people pretend that they escape a lot in Solo Q. People know better than that.
-
Same ole story. DBD will never be fun for survivors.

Imagine thinking BHVR makes more money on 1 Killer per 4 Survivors.
It reads like mecca just took a Killer complaint (IE: BHVR makes more money on Survivors, because there's 4 of them per match to 1 Killer) and felt like turning it around without doing anything more than switching the roles.
This game has been Survivor-sided for years. Every complaint Survivors had has been addressed with baked-in mechanics and b asekit upgrades to avoid interrupting their 16 META perks on 4-man SWF loadouts.
And yet this brain trust thinks Survivors are being treated as NPCs. 😂I am so sorry but that is a straight up story telling. I don't even know where to begin but what I am referring to are advantages to an unprecedented level. BHVR scams survivors with overpriced bright colored cosmetics so killers can see them easier while selling overpowered abilities on playable killer characters. So you are right they are indeed making money on survivors but it is because they know no better. There is not a single purchase able item for survivors that helps them win.
Basekit features:? You mean half baked? Killers still tunnel easily through endurance. Anti camp translates to "ok, I'll stand a few more meters away from the hook".
It is literally so killer sided it really is like a PvE game. Killer feels like playing on baby mode and survivor is like any other game on the hardest difficulty but the problem is no ability to change the settings. You are stuck in misery and here we are punishing people for expressing it or experiencing it.
-
The game is treated as a boss player versing 4 NPCs. They make money for killers so the survivors are there for the pleasure and sole entertainment for the one player to have fun and easily winning.
When you realize everything centers around killers and their advantages in a video game it makes sense.
-
Imagine being a new Cod player and getting killed as soon as the match starts and getting penalties for being new.
I can't even fathom the thought process of thinking this was a good idea for the side of the game that is already the hardest and most insufferable to play.
-
Spot on. Survivor used to have more play styles and was overall easier to play. Everything skill expression has been nerfed or removed and it has left survivor in a very bland and stale state.
Also, survivor is way harder to play now and killer is insanely easier. New players can literally play killer and 4K. But, what about survivor?
It's like taking any game and making it worse, worse, and worse and then people finding games not worth it anymore and then saying, oh gee, let's trap them in the game. It's such a big slap on face.
Go next and AFK crows is such a silly addition. It all should be deleted and focus on literally making matches more worth playing.
-
I knew it would.
-
Oh yes, can't wait for the killer-only update to come. Hope you enjoy watching paint dry while in queues because of no survivors.
-
Community managers and devs are different people.
The devs are simply doing what killers want, they don't like gates to be at 99% so they added a perk for it, doesn't matter how frustrating it is to play against it.

You’re assuming the killer was “easy” on us/me.
Everything you say screams survivor bias aka the game is “killer sided”
There is no root problem to the survivor “experience” the issue is people go next for 48,000 different reasons and then want to blame the killer.
You’ll be the first to see this will help the soloq experience. If it wasn’t going to help I don’t think the devs would be adding it.
You can't defend your very flawed stance so you resort to cheap insults. I could call you a killer main considering you seem to be very complacent to the survivor role.

Nearly finished. Haven’t kicked them. I had no gen regression. 🤷🏼♂️
There was no excuse to leave his team hanging. It doesn’t matter how it makes you “feel”
Do you know how many games felt unwinnable to me and I have had a complete turn around. We pulled through! Never would have known had I just went “next”
This is exactly why I am so looking forward to the go next prevention.
Because you remember a game where a killer was easy on you is not justification to ignore how other people perceive their chances of winning. To give clear example, you are not using gen regression which is clearly not running meta.
Imagine going to the doctor and he says to you, I am not going to cure your illness, I am simply going to treat your symptoms. "You'll have to like that."
Go next prevention will backfire and I will be the first to claim I was right.
