BHVR designed the game so one person can have a huge ego trip over other people. A good game would never allow one person a power role over other players because it gets abused.
-
The Blight and Ghoul is having fun. That is all that matters to them.
-
Power creep and pay 2 win.

Those winstreaks prove nothing other than the killer player is on the top end of the skill curve. There are very few people in the world who can do that. I’ve never played against someone like that, and you likely haven’t either. You can’t use the most extreme cases to make conclusions about the game balance. That’s not how statistics work. Statistics uses a large population to draw conclusions about the experience for the vast majority of players who are in the middle, not on the very top or very bottom of the skill curve. That means all killers, including Blight, need to be balanced around how the middle 80% of the curve play with him. The middle 80% of Blights are very beatable if you know how to play against them.
Ha, so we should balance around the best survivors but also around the worst killers.
How would you say if a survivor could win 2000 in a row? Surely you wouldn't think that is fine would you?

No, you just need to learn to play against Blight. I have no problem evading him in chases unless he’s god-level, and I haven’t run into too many of those. He’s one of my favorite killers to go against.
Blight is actually very difficult to be really good with. If you want to show me some of your own gameplay to prove otherwise, I’ll gladly agree with you.Hasn't it already been shown how overpowered he is, I think people have winstreaks in the thousands. A PvP game btw.
-
Because DBD is not supposed to be a fair and fun game. One player is supposed to have agency and control over 4 other players (Power Role).
-
His basekit is simply too strong and oppressive. I don't think it should require justification, but if you play against a decent Blight, not even a good one and walk away feeling like it was fair.
-
I think they actually said the add-ons were too strong. It's baffling someone could even think a 16 second heal from a "ultra rare" is too strong.
The take away is we sit around a table looking at what to nerf next or what fun to remove from the game next. Nothing ever makes any sense. They could literally remove the ability to sprint and I would not be one bit surprised.

I'm kinda shocked I've not seen a community manager or anyone from behaviour actually say "hey guy, we know we've done wrong... Yada yada yada".. haven't seen a thing? Does someone from Behaviour actually want to let us know you're listening? Cause if we were killer mains, there's already be a designated forum and a patch lined up..
I mean, not sure how much proof we need how much they really hate survivors lol.
Wish they would sale the game to a new dev team before it's too late. It has potential to be a fun game.
-
It makes sense if they balance their game with blinders on. They want killer to be braindead easy mode.
-
I think I was the only person when I heard a dev say they play survivor, I knew they were lying.
I have never seen a more biased dev team, essentially sabotaging one half of their player base.
-
I don't know why this surprises anyone. BHVR takes orders from killer mains so it's only natural for a killer sided game to get another killer sided update.
-
It'll be ok. They'll add play while you wait in 1v4 to help killers enjoy the game.
-
It shows how much stronghold sweaty streamers and killer mains have. Nothing meaningful for survivors will ever come to fruition.
At least killers will have their agency to play how they want and survivors are at the pure mercy of one other player to decide if they can play the game. This is literally the feedback the devs honored and chose to go with.

”A Blight with Lethal is not fair”
“Distortion is not an option”
Distortion with 1 token from the start being literally a direct counterplay of lethal pursuer, nuh? While lockers directly counterplaying bbq and it’s easy to assume it?
1 token. With constant wall hacks the perk is useless.
-
Survivors need comeback mechanics so you have reasons of finishing a match. For example, A Blight with Lethal Pursuer and wall hacking aura perks is not fair to verse.
Everything of survivors was nerfed so Distortion is not even a viable option.
-
Because BHVR insists on survivor being an underdog in the game. Nobody wants to play that.
And killer is more fun.

How do you know there is a massive problem of survivors not enjoying the game? Maybe it’s just you?
I have played solo queue survivor most of the time in this edition of 2v8 and I’ve had a lot of fun. Killer queue times are still way too long, but this has been the easiest and most fun I’ve had on the survivor side in 2v8.
What issues do you have with the survivor side in 2v8?
I don't think I'm the only one. There's literally a 300% incentive and there's still not enough survivors.
-
Once again, there's a massive problem of survivors NOT enjoying the game and killers waiting and waiting to play. Why are we mad they are trying to find out what survivors dislike? We really can't be this out of touch.
-

on paper this mode is a free escape if all survivor min max their time . On reality to often you have 4 survivors going for a single uncage , cleasing dull totems , opening all the chest in the map or hiding any second they hear a terror radius . This is what balances this mode out is how there is no mmr and aurvivors don't optimize their time .
Yes, but you also forgot one half of the game, optimal killers. Two killers on discord mops the floor and survivors can't do their objectives.

Yeah, I just wish they'd add more classes for more variety, then I'd really love 2v8
Have you noticed there are several slots, hopefully that means they are planning to add more, like a boon class maybe
-
You do know there is a lack of survivors right?
-
Taking Trapper for example, as it may be herd mentally to think he's weak. The facts are he wins most games. That's not something needing buffs.
-
Killer mains love winning almost 100 percent of their games and the followers thinking they are so good. Obviously, anything that might give survivors a fairer chance at the game will have some resistance.
-
Tunneling will go nowhere. I thought it was funny they were making the maps brighter so killers can very easily track survivors. The elusive effect is moot and a fake display of effort to address tunneling. They removed the penalties so tunneling will still be an option which clearly means killers will still tunnel.
-
It's a way for devs to manipulate the stats and throw out survivor wins and count killer wins.

i'd argue it's the opposite since it entirely depends on
1 how competent the survivors are
2 what killer they're against (and even then it doesn't matter)
the reason why i say this is because this game is balanced around survivors being terrible (if the survivors focused on gens there is nothing a killer can do since even before the pallet change gen speed was still too fast) and this gets worse with a swf
I guess you haven't seen decent killers play. It doesn't matter if you are SWF or not, killers will always win.

That’s like 5 killer players out of the thousands (millions?) that play the game. A vast majority of killer players don’t win every single match. I don’t think killer is as easy as you think it is. Do you play killer yourself?
Oh, just because only a few takes the effort to show it on their stream for views, it's too hard for anyone else to do the same?
Nobody should be able to exploit a game and completely deny their opponents from ever winning.

Are you saying that survivors only escape if killers are brand new or really bad at the game? I’ve been playing killer for a long time and I 4K sometimes, but I have lots of matches where 3 or even all 4 survivors get outs. There are some very good survivor players out there. I play solo queue and I escape pretty consistently. Just yesterday I had 5 matches in a row where I escaped. That doesn’t happen every timeI play, but to say that survivors almost never escape is just not based on facts.
Yes, killers don't really lose if they know how to abuse the mechanics. How do you think killers are winning 2000 winstreaks? That's 8,000 survivors and I'm sure some of those are really trying to win.

What do you mean killers are the “single variable that determines how the match plays out?” If that was true, wouldn’t literally every match be a 4K because survivors have no control over the outcome of the match?
A lot of people play killer for the first or just really bad at captilizing on the power, therefore survivors escape sometimes.
-
When killers are the "Power Role" they control the match and are the single variable that determines how the match plays out. It only makes sense to make sure that power is not abused.
BHVR might be finally realizing people hate playing survivor and time to ask about it.
-
Considering survivors have been quiting en mass, I think it seems silly to even ask that. Plus, I think killers are essentially in paradise with the game. They are treated like kings are treated.
-
@Firellius said:
Wait, so the official stats are going to exclude a ton of survivor losses? This is going to massively deflate the stats on kill rates.
Sounds intentional to me. This allows survivor wins to be counted and survivor losses to be thrown out.

Seriously questions: how many killer players do you think have 2,000 win streaks? Do you think it’s easy for any killer player to achieve a streak like this? What do you think the average win rate is for the average killer player?
Both the average and top killrates are too high. I doubt you would find another game where even if it was one person could curb stomp for thousands of games. That indicates a very massive balance problem. No other game community or dev team would find that acceptable. That's why DBD is laughed at.
-
Yes, they can start looking at how broken killers are with 2000 winstreaks.
-
That's a shocker people are not enjoying survivor and being playdoh for killers. What an insane shocker. Maybe they will buff killers a little more.
-
They were released intentionally worthless to dilute the bloodweb. It's like claiming to buff killers and giving them more brown add-ons so it's harder to get pink ones.

How many killer players ever have “thousands of wins without losing”? Please stop using the most extreme cases to generalize the average player experience. You are not going against these thousand win streak killer players ever, I guarantee you.
Survivor is a team experience, like it or not - that’s why you don’t have as much control over your correlation between skill and winning as killers do. There is no possible way, based on the game design, to make the skill:win correlation exactly the same between killer and survivor. Ain’t gonna happen. It seems like you (and others who share your mindset) expect the experience of both sides to be exactly the same like any other generic PvP fighting or shooter game. If you’re looking for that, sorry but DbD is not the game for you.If you have constructive suggestions for how to make survivor as easy with win within an individual player’s control as the killer role is, that would be great and please share. That would be far more helpful than constantly calling for killer nerfs.
If a few people can break the game, anyone can. I don't think we should minimize it a few people are exceptions.
If survivors require high precision team effort, why is information hidden from survivors and gifted to killers? Why is voice not a central primary feature in the game? Why are survivors scored individually instead of team performance?
I really think killers, like yourself, want the game like it is. It feeds into an ego to enter a match as one person to have a significant game breaking advantage over FOUR individual players.

As I've said repeatedly, removing deadzones? Good!
Making every tile interconnected and totally messing up generation? Very bad!
I know it's very frustrating when a survivor is outplaying a killer. That's bad and obviously requires fixing.

How often are you escaping as survivor? Every post I’ve ever seen you make mentions how miserable the survivor experience is. Are you like never, ever escaping? Can you show us some of your gameplay? Average escape rate is 40%. I feel like I’m a pretty mediocre survivor player and I’m slightly above the 40% average. If you’re way below the average, I don’t know what to tell you other than try to learn better strategies and practice more to improve you own gameplay. I was very bad at survivor for a long time, but with practice and watching other good survivors on YouTube, I have been able to get to the point where I’m “average” and it I’m pretty good with that.
If good killers can win thousands without ever losing, why can't survivors?
I don't know why survivors are satisfied with losing when killers are entitled to winning most of the time. My complaint is survivors should be able to drastically increase their win rates with skill when killers can with less. The balance has never fit usual PvP games.

Two wrongs don't make a right.
I don't see how reducing dead zones can be viewed as a wrong. But this is dead by daylight I always forget.
-
I think people forget this is a PvP game and not a PvE game. Survivor has been pure ass to play a long time with survivors always having an incentive to play the game and killer queues being longer. In 2v8, you can't even play killer without being forced to play miserable ass survivor. Let's not forget that.
-
The game is extremely killer sided. It is not hard to understand people find survivor unplayable/unwinnable. It's always a survivor incentive.
Yet, BHVR just sits around taking orders from killer main streamers like a maid.
I really think most people just get tired of waiting or tired of playing killer, switch to survivor and find it too hard to win. That's what I think of most DCs.
-
They don't consider the survivor side and counterplay when designing things. Fog vials is an example too, only viewing the game through the lens of a killer player. The devs are most likely only killer mains.
-
They hate survivors so much they punish them for playing the game.
Don't worry, their solution would be "play survivor while you wait". They'll do absolutely anything to keep survivors miserable and killer easy mode.
-
Survivor is not supposed to have useful items.
We wouldn't want Ghoul or the head killer to struggle seeing in the fog. Their job is supposed to be extremely low effort.
-
I couldn't finish reading the patch notes from almost having an hernia. Tunneling is buffed hahahaha.
I'm smart enough to watch the circus from the side lines. Will not queue as survivor.
-
Lmao. I'm honestly laughing at how killer biased BHVR is.
-
Killer crying 100%. Streamers saw they might have a little harder time tunneling, slugging and winning 2,000 Blight matches in a row. BHVR saw that might be a little unfair to make it harder for these people and caved into the demands.
