Blight is one of the most popular killers in the game, and after the backlash from the Billy rework, I doubt they're gonna do much outside of an addon pass.
Hmmm, wonder why he might be popular?
Surely it's not because he's broken OP or anything.
He needs more than a "Billy treatment".
An actual punishment for mistakes would be appropriate without all the "techs" that circumvent survivor counterplay.
-
DBD is really at the lowest it has ever been. Too many survivor nerfs and killer buffs.
It's honestly unplayable as survivor.
-
No Way Out is pretty much a meta perk.
Your big mistake was playing survivor expecting to win. You can only play killer to win if you want to win. Devs think extremely high killrates is fair and balanced.
It's been proven the game is rigged against survivors.

Yes, matchmaking 100% will not fix that. Because most survivors are just allergic to be any good at the game. 2 month of Alien matches and almost all still put turrets right in front of his exits. 3 months of new Onryo, still no one takes a tape. 1k hours, 3k and even 5k hours players still as awful at looping as me at 300 hours.
Just do gen simulator with Trapper bot, who miss attack right in front of him, and survivors like you will be the happiest players in the world.
That is insulting to everyone that plays survivor. We don't want EZ wins, we want "fair" games. You can't say with a straight face that the game is so not busted right now for killer. It's just way to ez to play killer and yet you want to pretend it is "survivors" that want EZ wins.
The truth of the matter is that killers are loving the power fantasy as killer and I promise the death of this game will be because of it.
-
The skill required to play survivor is so ridiculously high that everyone on the teams has to be like pros. It's insane. Matchmaking will never fix that. Survivors need buffed in all aspects.
-
Poor killers. Survivors have been literally nerfed constantly since the game came out and it's still not enough.
Don't worry, at the rate we are going your wish will be granted and everyone will start the trial with their legs broken.
-
It's not a freak accident he is so popular and his killrates are so high and solo players ditch against him. He is so overturned and P2W.
-
No kill rates? I guess they are too high to show.
-
It gets tiring to see camping, tunneling, and losing. They have balanced for high caliber survivors while expecting very little from killers. The game is not what it used to be.
-
It's not balanced at all. For context, please remember when healing was drastically nerfed (removing killer progress) and killer slowdown perks was nerfed at the same time to give a slight resemblance of fair balance?
Well guess what happened thereafter? Killer slowdown perks are BUFFED!? POP was reverted. Pain Resonance BUFFED to remove a full gen worth of progress when used. Killers are using slowdown perks all the time yet nothing is being done.
CoH and healing, medkits are STILL NERFED. Enough said.

"killer is too easy" this impression can only arise if you don't have that much knowledge of the game, if you look at it in general then killers are still much weaker than survivor (except Nurse, Blight) all killers would fight against experienced survivors (5k+ hrs) 10/10 games will be destroyed, that doesn't mean a "main killer" but a main survivor who is also good at killing, after 10k+ hrs in this great game (ironic)
If you played both sides and watch both sides play it is pretty clear, very clear that survivors are weaker (killers overpowered).
How do you explain killers having huge winstreaks? Survivors can't do that.
Experienced survivors really can't do much because experienced killers slaughter them with no contest.

It depends on how strong that tracking ability is, how often it can activate, how hard it is to activate it, etc. That’s why Ultimate Weapon for example is too strong right now - it’s active too often and is too easy to activate for how powerful it is to the point where it’s rendering several other tracking perks obsolete. Most other tracking perks have enough limiting factors to be balanced. But Ultimate Weapon doesn’t - much like how old IW didn’t either.
As for stealth, killers that have that ability generally are lacking elsewhere. Wraith for example has great map mobility and stealth that can be triggered at will, but is balanced by not having a strong chase power.
I don't know what you mean that Wraith is weak in chase. He sneaks up on survivor, uncloaks and gets a free hit on survivor.
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
Being permanently silent while injured was not balanced.
Then you could definitely say constant auras (hand holding to lead killer to the survivor) and killers being able to turn off their terror radius is more unbalanced.

Bloodlust was supposed to be a band-aid fix to the garbage map design (which still hasn't been addressed). If a killer is Bloodlusting every one of his chases, that killer is having a really rough game. Also, Bloodlust resets on breaking pallet/using power. MFT rewards you for getting injured. MFT is the equivalent of killers gaining an unconditional instadown ability after they lose 3 gens.
That is so silly. You really think maps are a problem when half of them have huge wide open deadzones that looks like a prairie?
I didn't say bloodlusting every time because I'm not ever seeing killers have any difficult time whatsoever. But on the one-off chance a survivor outplays the killer for a slightly longer amount of time, then there is an actual mechanic that rewards the killer for being worse skill-wise. Imagine playing another game with "MMR" and you missed the opponent a few times and then the game aims for you and you win because you are just bad at the game? Yeah, that is WRONG!
Stop inventing excuses for something being unfair and negating skill in a game.
What kind of band-aid fix was Blight supposed to solve then?

Blight mains sometimes play other killers, and may or may not get aggravated that their perfect mindgames around strong tiles get completely nullified by le funny 3% perkz! But don't whine when you run into my Blight and I 4-man slug you at 5 gens. You wouldn't do that, would you? Unlike the other 68 pages of Steam comments I have from survivors whining that their overpowered builds and overpowered items with a map offering to boot didn't save them against the broken Bligguht.
Survivors don't have anything overpowered and nullify killers. How about when survivors have perfect mindgames but killers get a little reaching hand from nowhere that says "I am sorry poor killer you seem to be having a hard time since the survivor is so much better than you, here's a little speed boost (bloodlust) to nullify survivor skill and get rewarded with a down"
I'm sure you have nothing to say about that.
-
I think it's comical a blight main is complaining about a small 3% speed for the cost of a perk slot. You know Blight can be completely across the map in like a couple of seconds without even using a perk??? What percentage boost is that?
-
Killer is definitely too easy now. MMR and balancing for very high efficient survivor play has really destroyed the game. There's no turning back because BHVR seems too stubborn to think this is a perfect symmetrical balanced game about skill.
I think the biggest issue is instead of asking killers to get better at the game and accepting the statistics for what it was, they constantly nerf survivors to compensate.
People are definitely leaving. Every metric says so.
-
@rvzrvzrvz said:
it's generally SWF>killer> solo q, I play only solo so I know what you mean odds are always against us, but when you play killer against strong teams it can seem unfair too, this game has strange balance
I think one thing that is true it's easier to snowball as killer at any point in the match and harder to comeback for survivors after mistakes
I agree mostly. But people tend to overestimate SWF. I think killers win like 500 matches in a row against SWF, solo, SWF, solo, solo, but then lose one match against a SWF and say the game is SWF sided. It's really all rhetoric and BHVR hears the rhetoric and says "ok we need to nerf survivors" because -> our spreadsheets tells us too. There is really no real life balancing. It is all follow the rhetoric and spreadsheets and that's it.
And I agree that killers really never lose the match because they can always come back. Survivors can't.
-
MMR doesn't work. Especially when the game is not about skill.
You can be the very best survivor and lose.
You can be the worst killer and win.

Prestige doesn't mean much at this point. You might have been playing against a killer main with 1000s of hours of experience who simply didn't prestige that particular killer. In fact, if they have UW and other teachables unlocked the chances are that they're not a new player.
I'm pretty sure the survivors had a lot of hours. That really strengthens my point that a killer can play a new killer with a completely different power and use overpowered perks and beat survivors regardless of how hard they try. In what game is that fair?
-
Slightly? *rolls eyes*
Play both sides and I think you'll know the real thing. Watch Twitch too. Killers are winning all the time and it is painfully boring to watch.
Play killer: Wins like 99% of the time.
Plays survivor: Win like 1 out 10.
Someone says the stats show a killrate is like 60%. Did you know they are not accurate? People DC, people ragequit, people kobe. They don't count these and people usually do these things when the killer is like noob-stomping which is most of the time. The killrate is probably like 80-90%.
People please. The game is so killer sided it is not even a question any more.

you say infectious fright on demand like infectious fright is somehow a perfectly made strong perk and UW is instant op powercreep on it. infectious is bad on anyone but the best nurses/blights, and sometimes oni and plague. and the blindness is only good if the survivor is being boosted by WoO.
Pressing a button and instantly knowing where everyone is location is overpowered. Why are we not balancing around the strongest killers? If it is even a bigger problem on some killers then it needs to be nerfed.
-
I think you know it is broken overpowered and scared it is getting nerfed and trying to justify it yet did a horrible job doing so. An Infectious Freight on demand with blindness. I cannot believe it was released, but I guess we need an OP P2W killer perk.
-
Hopefully that is a joke. Survivors have been nerfed since forever and still getting nerfed.

? On what world stealth and looping have been removed?
DBD. If you actually played survivor at all you would actually know killers have aura perks, they have Ultimate Weapon! Most killers have anti-loop powers, so there's simply nothing going for survivors.
-
But it is perfectly OK for survivors to have no agency. (ie. camping, bleeding out, tunneling)
All survivor strategies have been completely removed. (ie. stealth, looping, ......)
Killers can handle a very small pat on the hand now after survivors have taken a dragged out beating.

Flashlights are bugged. Skull Merchant is not.
Both is gamebreaking. It is just as easy for a survivor to abuse the locker exploit as it is for a killer player to find 3 gens and hold the game hostage. I don't know why we have double standards here.
-
@Crowman said:
The moment bhvr makes an exception for the killswitch, everyone is going to start asking for anything of minor annoyance to be killswitch.
And this is not the pandoras box you want to open
You do say it is a minor annoyance. We are talking about holding games hostage (breaking the game). That should be worthy of a killswitch.
It's no different than killswitching flashlights.
-
I believe it is the opposite there chief. Killers wants survivors as playthings. You don't want balance, you want to 4K every match.

Upload it then?
Enthrall us poor survivor plebs with your elite looping skills.
They never have evidence. If they do, it is like a perkless trapper playing their first game.
Killer mains pretend survivor is easy because they want killer to be a 4K simulator. And it is that.

More like I would like to actually have decent chases where the survivor actually does something skillful and not hold W and pre drop basically refusing to actually interact with the killer. I know some killers don't allow for that but I've seen people pre drop against TRAPPER of all killers.
Blame that really on survivors being overnerfed. There is literally nothing survivors can do except hold W. Half of the killers forces all pallets and stealth to be non-existent or causes them to be totally ineffective.
-
@Brimp said:
Well blame bhvr for making unrewarding chases for lower tier killers. Im sure I would love to play someone weaker like slinger or trapper but when I'm 110 on a large map or a map with large gen spread then it de-centivizes me to chase and camp/tunnel or makes me go to play a stronger killer.
I think the problem there is the mentality. Killers expect to win all of their games and as long as there is killers that do that such as the above, then it kinda spoils the player. Why play a more balanced killer and win a little more than most of your games so the survivor has a chance to win when you can play Blight, Nurse, and others and win practically all of your games???
Too bad there is not a survivor you can pick and just load in and open the gate every time. It would really be boring for killers if they could never win against said survivor.

So then you nerf them and make them even HARDER for people to try and learn to play. Many many players will play a game of blight, get bullied, never land any hits, and never touch him again.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544325#Comment_3544325
“Nothing survivors can do” is farrrr from true. Most survivors just lack the skill/knowledge to counter him. And it’s not “players”. It’s one dude, and I would argue it was less of a showcase of blight, and more so hard tunneling at 5 gens. Not to mention a majority of the games were won during the gen kick meta.
I mean, but it is OK for players that know how to exploit Blight to bully survivors?
Signs of unbalance when most can't win against something.

I wasn't referring to "balance." I was referring to a lot of Blight players not being able to play him. I wasn't clear enough in the original post.
Ok. I thought you were saying he was balanced because he only had that killrate.
-
@Vorahk08 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544306#Comment_3544306
I can confirm this. He's currently at a 51.89% killrate on Nightlight, which seems to place him solidly in the middle of the list when ordered by kill rate. Almost half of his kill distribution is either a 4K or nothing at all. I think most people mainly remember the Blights who beat them.
That is not an indicator of balance. After you have some experience with him and know how to exploit him, there is nothing survivors can do. Hence why players are literally winning thousands of matches without losing. He is broken.
-
@I_CAME said:
People still pretending like Blight's only issue is his addons. I don't even think the guy with the 1500 win streak uses his best addons. How much longer are we going to let this ridiculous killer continue to exist in his current form?
Very true. How Blight has escaped being nerfed is beyond belief. How much evidence do we need to prove there is something horribly unbalanced about Blight?
-
Game is so unbalanced for solo Q.
-
Power creep is a huge a problem with killers and Save the Best for Last is no exception. When they really made the killer animations all much faster, it is like they forgot to address this perk.
-
@Alice_pbg said:
they aren't exploits or bugs so never. glad I could help
You are very wrong. They are exploits.
Definition: In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitch, or use elements of a game system in a manner not intended by the game's designers, in a way that gives a substantial unfair advantage to players using it.
It is not hard to see that Blight's curve movement is not intended for "an unfair advantage" and Skull Merchant holding a game hostage was not intended.
-
@Zokenay said:
Cause killswitching a killer for something that isnt game breaking would simply be too far.
Boring and unfair? maybe, but not "you cant touch me" levels of BS.
There's really no difference in Skull Merchant holding a game hostage and a flashlight causing you to be invincible. At least with a flashlight, the killer can chase the other 3 players and end the match. Skull Merchant not so much.
-
The game is in a dismal state with non-stop camping, tunneling, slugging, etc.
For the life of me, I have never understood how anyone thinks there is a chance to win when a broken Blight has downed 3 players instantly with 5 gens are left to be repaired. If everyone is on death hook and survivors have been so unable to progress any objective, I think it is time to stop blaming the survivors.
-
Not satisfied. The game is the worst it has ever been.

My experience normally has nothing to do with the killer at all. It's my teammates doing nothing. Well, I shouldn't say nothing because I don't do the tomes. So they may be doing those. Half the time on the survivor HUD I see one person doing something and the other 2 images are empty. No gens, no totems, no healing, just blank lol. It's oke when I see them blank for a moment but sometimes it's the entire match.
There are games when the killer is making it not fun for me also. Most of the time though, it's my teammates that make me want to let go or dc and stop playing.
Balancing for the sweaty 4 man SWF has really killed the game. It is disgustingly unbalanced now.
-
No. Considering tunneling has increased ten-fold since decisive strike was nerfed, I don't think Off The Record is doing any good.
-
With how horrible survivor gameplay has become with consistent neglect from the devs and non-stop nerfs, I really have no idea how anyone can play survivor. It is nothing but constant slugging, killer Bming, overpowered killers. It would be like killer being unable to chase and everyone going on vacation like everything is OK. I really feel bad for anyone subjected to having to suffer playing survivor. I have tried playing survivor and it really is insufferable.
