I think it'd be funny if this worked the way you'd hope and you didn't get camping tunneling slugging killers just by blocking them all.

Skull Merchant was simply bad idea right after the Knight.
Fact is games are faster for most killers. Doesn't matter who wins, it's faster.
3-gen and CoH made games way longer than needed.
Even Skull merchant games are faster than used to be.
I think my point was the regression stuff was too strong, was realized and fixed, sort of. Not because games were too long.

Banning killers would be pointless. Just about every tournament team would ban nurse, blight, spirit, and some random killer (assuming they don't know who they are playing).
Banning 4 killers would be obnoxious and I don't see many killer players being okay with it
Literally enjoy playing against nurse because if she doesnt play exceedingly well she doesnt do well, which should be the case in general but its not. The other 2 not so much. Spirit isn't so bad though

It always was who finish their objective faster.
BHVR seems to want make average game shorter.
That's why you have so many nerfs for gen regression and self-healing.
Oh is that why they put skull merchant in the game lmao?
-
If you don't want people complaining about the killer behavior something needs to be done to stop it. I couldn't care less if I get sacrificed lol. It's just the terms in which it happens. I go next plenty and probably ruin alot of games for survivors, thats how much i care about dying. If the killer is good there should be no reason to tunnel/camp. I know why killers do it, it's easy like OP said, and getting caught in a bad area getting looped probably hurts the ego, then they get vindictive because even a mediocre player as killer is designed to catch survivors or the game is way to vanilla.
But there's no real way to punish killers for poor play...other than looping the stubborn killer as the team slams gens. Which leads to complaints about "genrush" lol.
I think OP essentially addressed the issue of both sides. Killers have many viable options to win, survivors have one and Killers want easy win you can't do anything about. Survivors don't want to have 10 minutes of chase hook chase hook chase hook, dead while the team sits their playing catch the spinning thing. All while the poor bastard getting farmed for BP experiences getting hit through walls, one shot, hit after pallet stun, slow vault downs or downed on the other side of vault blah blah the exceptionally annoying stuff that happens every match, oh I need to add getting sucked into lockers or onto a gen when you're trying to hit a vault, that ######### drives me absolutely insane

Try playing Pig with no addons and no gen regression perks, you'll see.
Pig seems decent from my encounters...not entirely sure the addons and stuff they run. The rarest killer I see has got to be Billy, and there's probably a reason for that, Billy matches don't seem to go too well for them...

I agree.
Right now information is way too easy to access on the survivor's side, on top of having the ability use voice coms to obliterate the abilities of stealth killers to apply any pressure... its a mess.
Blindness should AT LEAST hide those icons for its duration... otherwise what's the point of blindness anymore?
It used to be good to deny their aura reading perks prior these icons but the survivors barely bring aura perks anymore since the icons just feeds them those infos for free anyways.
You clearly don't play survivor? HUD isn't that great. Unless the killer is quite close it doesnt even show them in chase. Empathy and bond for example are much better at letting you know if someone is being hunted by anything with range, or a freak out like blight or running from a stealthed killer etc. The HUD will also portray people still in chase for a significant amount of time after they're no longer being chased. HUD doesn't offer hardly any information. Especially in comparison to coms lol.

This update make survivor more team dependent, making then work together like a team.
they are not self-sufficient anymore, managing to do almost everything alone while the others rush the generator, and even though they were nerfed, SWF with brand new part, still rushes pretty fast, I won a match by little, because the survivors brought 2 BNP, but I was using legion with thanato, if it wasn't for this update I would have been destroyed.
Survivor need to work together much more then before, some players need to learn to work together and with this new teamwork perks, maybe behavior are thinking to take this direction for the survivors.
Survivors always have worked together? Hell most soloq games once the snowball of unhooking a survivor starts it doesn't stop. Even wraith can just ran around and whack someone once kick gen, and if it's not a dead zone go find someone else real quick whack them rinse repeat and slowly teams just lose. Those games are atleast fun, it only gets worse from there on the not fun scale.

Self-heal needed change. It was op mechanic, too oppresive and just bad. Its ok that without special perks, medkits allow surv for one full selfheal, but more would be just too much. Altruistic healing got buff tho. Healing on itself did not changed. Just heal anyone else beside Yourself and everything will be smoother.
No, things aren't better healing other survivors, it takes way to long if you don't have a medkit or run botany with any kind of debuff. Medkit used up basically within first minute of match if it's not knocked off your character lol. If only survivors had some kind of perk like caltrops or something that they could impact killers play constantly somehow...like a perk to reduce there movement speed to 5% faster than base survivors.
Make killer swings that hit walls and windows actually deflect, make them have to aim like we do with a flashlight. Take away the monster truck hit boxes from survivors, stop letting killers hit me on opposite sides of walls or pallets when they get stunned and I can literally see the arm going through parts of the building.
Funny thing is ranked soloq would have these killers brought back to earth, big nerfs. Balanced for 4man squad with coms is a sick joke.
-
Yea and survivors should get a button so they can control sprint burst.
-
Yea....no thanks. plenty of matches where I have exit gates at 85% last survivor only to be found as timer is rapidly expiring and entity murders me as I'm trying to impossibly get enough distance from killer to finish exit gate and get out.

I don't get this woe is me and mine mentality right now. If we have a new thread come up every 5 minutes from someone saying they quit killer or survivor because X thing is broken, then what is the real issue? Are they both right or is this proof that the game is actually getting close to some kind of balance and people don't really like that?
I'm a 60/40 killer pref player and I have to say, this is one of the BEST metas I've ever played in the last 4 or 5 years. All I can say anecdotally is that 90% of my survivor games start with someone DCing or killing themselves on hook. As killer, my games can range from pub stomp to sweat fest but I usually feel in control more or less. Playing with hard regression every game dulled a lot of you guys in my opinion, just like it dulled a lot of survivors when they had a 7 second self heal. You lost your comfortable tools and now you don't know what to do without them. So you're sputtering instead of adapting, both sides.
Lol this describes the current issues perfectly. Killers are in control because of how busted things are. Your survivors dcing or killing themselves on hook, symptom of killers being to strong, and undesirable behavior...might aswell go next, don't feel like sitting on a hook/tunneled until dead or getting camped.
For thw crying killers: I really don't understand the crying about "genrush" it's literally the objective and essentially the only thing to do in the game, run from killer, do gen, save hooked/heal. Rarely if ever do I have a game where players ignore the person on hook if the killer isn't doing their dumb stuff.
If you're a killer main and you don't come out on top in most current games, you're legit bad. Play survivor, MAYBE you'll have more fun

I was really hoping BHVR would get rid of her insta-down and replace it with aura reading. I think it would be more fun. Maybe make survivors in her drones area hindered 3% basekit or something + aura to give reason to not want to be in the area.
Not a bad idea, as it is, if I see skull merchant playing 3 gen I just run at her and get the waste of time over with. After 3 30+ minute games in a row I'm just not doing it anymore.

I do think the blood web should give killers 2x the addons in each purchase. Survivors can go without our addons and items, while many killers are pretty garbage without good addons
Lmao. Survivors should have the option to Johnny cage the killer and stun it for 17 seconds and get to bring a gun with incendiary round add-ons and extended mag for additional charges and they should just inherently gain 10x killer bp

Trying to prevent camping altogether is impossible, and your idea is extremely abusable.
Lol works for me, guess you're right. Not like half the posts since I've joined have been about killers being overpowered and their behavior ruining games or anything. The game in it's current form will slowly die. Sad.

Damn, guess he said it, must be so! You enjoy your currently abusive play style that much? Works for me, campers just get the go next treatment. Games ruined within 30 seconds. This will continue to snowball the survivor player base into further and further unhappiness to the point people will just stop playing. Then you can camp your empty hook, that should be fun!

No such thing as a balanced game. But maybe a better community?
By that if you mean it'll never be perfect, I agree, but making it enjoyable for the majority of the player base (soloq) grows the player base and with that generally will have a better community amongst an inherently adversarial game if people are not focused on all the griefing.
-
The killer doesn't know anything definitively unless they're standing next to the hook and the timer is going down. And the survivors can move out, forcing the killer to play instead of having a survivor stand there and wonder....I wonder if they'll leave the hook so I can save and not turn this into a vicious hook cycle...which js what I'm guessing killers that camp want. To not actually have to chase anyone.
It's weird I want the killer to play the game and campers want to turn it into catch the little bar while I drool and stare at this meat sack on a hook. Like an idle mobile game. It's atrocious and speaks to the laziness of killer players having to actually try on the already overpowered killers.
Like you're really against trying to get the killer to interact more with the survivors? Lol.

@SeaFlower said:

This means a killer knows exactly when to camp. They check if the effect currently is happening or not. You solved nothing.
No, it actually means the killer can't camp, unless survivors are making a play on the hook. This solves everything as it obviously should be allowed the killer has the opportunity to defend the hook. If anything it encourages interaction and not this stupid caught you tunnel face camp current dumb issue I see people constantly upset about and for good reason. I'm just gonna force this guy out of the game real quick and make it exceedingly difficult for my opponent is dumb and ruining the game. People have been complaining about this crap tactic forever and then killers ######### about gen rush like there's something else the survivors are supposed to do lol.
It's weird, I want the killer to interact with survivors...to play the game but campers want to just camp and stare at someone on a hook? I don't get it. It's not enjoyable to play catch the little bar in the spot while numbnuts stands and stares at his victim. Or maybe it's lazy killers just want to m1 people trying to save so it's this vicious dog pile hook fest until everyone is dead. It's not fun for the 4 other people in the game and I don't really understand how it's fun for the killer....it's like a idle mobile game, ooo I got lots of numbers at the end, neat!

So the killer instantly has a way to know there’s someone in 24-32m? And you think this is a good idea?
Yes, do you have some magic where you can just pinpoint where they are in a 360degree area? Or maybe you moved far enough away from the hook? Also the survivor can move out, forcing them off gen or w.e and making the killer, you know...play the game?
-
Self care needs a huge buff, without botany and resilience you'll be sitting there for a whole minute praying to God the killer doesn't have nurses calling or stumble upon you or get hit with random shock doc ######### or roaming zombies etc. The game is totally ######### for soloq players as apparently they balance with top tier swf lol....I like running botany because I can heal my mates way faster through all the heal debuff garbage.

still more interaction than a slugging nurse or oni and then waiting to bleed out for 4 minutes or tombstone myers
Nah, those matches were fun, I remember aimbot nurses shooting all the way across the map to their basement perfectly. The fun was picking people up frantically...enjoyed crazy billy blasting around slugging people as fast as they could, sometimes there was a win, but atleast I didn't watch Mt character sit on hook get unhooked or face camped to go right back on hook 2 more times and then game was over

Im not a fan of this idea. Because depending on the reason the Killer is camping, then they will stay like that forever.
I want gameplay around camping so we don't end up in a boring stalemate.
No you're not in a stalemate...it just forces killers to leave the hook or be acrively engaged in defending it..., if a survivor and a killer are within range of hooked the timer starts going, if killer chases survivor out timer keeps going.
Just for a picture to kind of give you an idea if hooked survivor is still in killer terror radius without free survivor being in terror radius of killer than the hook won't progress, like 3 big circles if you can picture that

I'd subscribe 10$ a month if they balanced the game.

Ok yea I was joking about infinites. I do miss the days when the game was balanced though. As it is, killers are too strong and survivors nerfed every patch lol. I miss when pug would trap killers in games and infinite them for like 20 minutes. Made me happy to see them suffer too. I remember the start when p3 was actually an accomplishment on wraith trapper and Billy.
.
-
Let's make killers more OP, from the OP. Got it. Nah.

@YourAverageSpy said:
The instant-down add-ons shouldn't be removed, they should just be a High risk, High reward play style like the Iridescent head limiting the number of hatchets to 1 no matter.
Also two flaws with the game I would like to mention is Killers get punished in the games more than the survivors like having a harder time to camp when the game is going bad for them but built in Borrowed Time making it harder to get a 1K at the end of the game and survivors being able to 99% the exit gates to avoid endgame collapse is not considered an exploit for some reason.
How is that an exploit lol? Wth. Correct me if im wrong but killers can whack the exit gate button and it opens. God you killers are ridiculous. To appease you we'd need to be put in a map with 5 gens and nothing else but hooks so you MIGHT be happy.
-
Solve camping by making hook timer not progress if killer is within x radius without corresponding survivor within x radius. It's really not freaking hard.
-
It's kind of funny how they implement something to deal with killer behavior, then it's pretty much a must have, because of killer behavior, then it gets nerfed because it was to good at stopping ######### killer behavior lmao
-
It would help if they didn't punish you for losing a 3 minute chase you're inherently going to lose. Half my points for "losing" the chase which is literally how the game is designed. Pretty stupid. Would be different if it wasn't 1 of 50 killers that might switch targets if they're getting run around.

It was funny when Otz was doing experiment where he tried not to tunnel and see how it goes, but survivors were saying he is still tunneling.
Just get used to having escapes as killer and dying as survivor. You simply can't always win.
It's way more enjoyable, when you don't care...
Definitely, when the game does stupid stuff or the killers being a giant dildo. Just ######### on the hook. Happens every game I think. Or pull the plug on the internet, that happens alot too. I won't lie I do kill myself on hook, just much better to go next than deal with dumb #########
-
Lol gen rush all there is to do before the game turns into a slug unhook fest. I dont understand these killers when nearly every game I play the killer completely takes over at 2 gens, usually sooner. Literally 70% of games are 4k...hatch might aswell not exist during the 1v1. Bad killers definitely have a hard time with survivors used to getting bent over most games lol.

So you’re saying solo queue needs improvements, not that killers need nerfs.
No, killers need nerfs lol. Or the game needs to reimplemeny infinites and vacuum vaults and do something about the God forsaken slow vaulting and stupid stutter thing when it vaults a pallet.

@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
Oh right, because screw killers, right?
SoloQ is not something you should balance around. We can talk about soloQ focused buffs.
But definitely not whole power level of the game.
Nobody said screw killers but they need to be toned down. I mean I watch the competitive stuff on tofu stream, teams that practice together with thousands of hours of play time get 4k'd probably 50+% of the time.
Think about what a solo q player feels with a killers power level being balanced so the best teams that practice together still get smashed. killers are unreal.

How about make it so she can kick gens all she wants but they don't regress at a ridiculous rate if she's not willing to chase anyone outside of her camped 3 gen.
Literally only way to combat this stupid ######### is for all the survivors to bring brand new parts and save them for the last gen.
-
Lmao imagine playing killer and saying it's to hard and genrush is to hard-core. Everything survivors can do is easily mitigated or countered. Everything. Or has just plainly been nerfed.
-
Alot of killer stuff needs nerfs, I spend more time healing snapping out of it watching my gen explode having it locked up randomly being over charged or that other stupid 700 skill check challenge then it blows or it blows the INSTANT I start to move as killer is coming towards me.
Healing is horrendous, vaulting is generally a joke pallet stuns do nothing. Only thing worth a damn it seems are flashlights and you can just put on light born if you see a flashlight in the lobby lol. I run botany to try and deal with all the healing stupid ######### and it still isn't really very helpful, and eats my medkit on top of dealing with even trying to get the heal off to begin with. It's all a bit much as survivor. Bring back infinites please, atleast then you might have a chance. Might.
-
Killers need nerfs across the board. But yea, some of the newer ones are pretty outrageous.
-
100% lose so many matches, killers are to strong. Hell, I've been watching competitive on a few streams, competitive survivor teams struggle against a good killer. By struggle I mean lose 3 members generally. This is pretty evident of how overpowered they are with all of the tools they have. I don't mind dying if the match is fun. Not getting camped not getting tunneled. Not getting hit when a tile separates me and the killer. Not watching the survivor slow vault all the GD time, or getting hit because the GD vault over pallet has me doing some weird stuttering tard out during pallet vault. Can't heal survivor slugged at pallet. Can't drop pallet sometimes, weird crap happens from time to time in frequent enough instances that it is supremely annoying to the point if the game does some dumbshit I just kill myself on hook and go next because the game was just effed in 30 seconds due to BS. There is so much that is plane ridiculous playing survivor that makes it not fun. Omgoid balance game so skermz can't run killers around for an hour!!!!!!!!!! I swear that's the mentality.
But BHVR doesn't care about the general players? I feel like if you play well as a survivor it shouldn't be inherent a killer WILL eventually hook you. Very rare circumstances will allow you to abuse struggle to avoid hooking, but they will down you.
-
Want to avoid slugging? Increase time for recovery but allow the inherent ability to get up if left to long. Stop camping by making hook timer not progress if killer is within x distance without survivors around. I'm not sure you will ever be able to stop tunneling unless you give a perma borrowed time that can withstand any amount of hits for x seconds. as long as survivor moves certain distance from last hook and is not in chase from unhook or doing a Gen (working on a gen would remove any temporary buff). Idk how this would work with huntress as often times with huntress it never even enters chase
The games I have the most fun is with killers that really slap survivors around, conatant hits constant hooks. Don't even care if I die, was fun and intense.
If a killer wants to ruin a specific survivors game then it should be allowed but at the expense of their own lol...this is essentially genrushes birth circumstances
