Lightborn is fine, it's is a completely match changing perk, that forces survivors to think of other strategies i.e Sabotage, body block these are still perfectly able to stop a hook, personally it is one of my favourite perks when playing killer, also most killers don't actually run it but as a survivor you have to think quick.

Ya then you all complain about saboing

"MFT is one of the best perks in the game"

"It helps me a lot in chase"

"It extends my chases a whole bunch"

"For me it is way better then Sprint Burst"

"This is the healthiest perk they have ever added to this game"

You just cherries picked that vid you passed the whole not hugging structures tight enough

  • Oh sure can survivors mori the killers to?

That's a form of counterplay, but counterplay can be also be a layered mental exercise. You are limiting the effectiveness of a perk when you do what I described. The counter to Lightborn is extending chase as long as possible, but the killer can play smartly and not over commit just because they can track the target especially if they are constantly setting them up for blinds by being aggressive with pallet drops at loop. If the killer doesn't over commit then the situation resets to a neutral state. You've escaped chase and are now free to heal, do gens, do bones.

Nothing gives you back the ability to blind and I'm telling you that is okay. Blinds aren't that deep and Lightborn isn't bad for the game. It's also not a "no skill" perk, Lightborn isn't the deciding factor of any game in DBD. It's a handicap more than anything because a killer has to give a slot that could have been used for infinitely more impactful and game changing perks.

We've been at this literally all day. All I have left to say is you don't have to like that the perk functions the way it does, but from a purely objective balance perspective Lightborn isn't doing any harm or diminishing the value of flashlights on a large scale. You're going to be hard pressed to find anyone who would say Lightborn is problematic in a way that needs major changing because for what it does do it isn't actually used that much.

well I never heard of lightborn being a distraction but I’ll take your word on it I guess but in all I guess but LB is kinda like training wheels for someone learning killer I just feel people grow to dependent on it then expect the game to revolve around them

  • Puppalope made a 2nd vid on this

  • Puffalope made 2 videos on MFT and I can assure you you’re just bad as killer

I told you that earlier as well.

Lightborn gives a killer aura reading after a blind attempt on the survivor who attempted to blind them. While you can't fully counter Lightborn you can use the info it provides to the killer together with your own looping abilities to make a killer over invest in a chase. People who use Lightborn often make the mistake of over committing to a chase due to the fact they have aura reading. If you are a strong looper then you can prey on that psychological investment by drawing out chases.

Another soft counter is Distortion because what you're countering is the active portion of the power, aura reading.

That's both a player derived counter strategy and perk based soft counter.

But that’s not counterplay at all seeing how that depends on if the killer wants to chase or not you are just in denial cause you want to keep your ne skill required perk

counterplay are methods I can use to bypass or reduce the effectiveness of a perk

distortion may prevent the aura reading but nothing stops he whole not being to blind the killer part and that’s not good for the game

I was specific in the way I wrote my response, you're in a hurry to disagree with me while I did make it clear that most killer perks do not have direct 1 to 1 PERK counters and that the design of killer perks is focused around allowing for soft counters, counters that reduce the effect or temporarily block it but not permanently, and player derived counterplay strategies.

You're showing me that you read things, but don't comprehend them in full or you're skimming what I write, but not actually paying any attention.

Ok well then what’s the soft counter to lightborn

    Most killer TR based perks

    Beast of Prey

    Coup De Grace

    Blood Warden

    Brutal Strength

    Perks that block windows

Basically every gen regression perk that isn't tied to a scourge hook or hex totem

Trap Totems because they exist to be destroyed to begin with so all the perks that help survivors with totems only aid the killer in getting what they want.

Perks that affect attack and action speeds.

Literally almost every killer perk is designed to not have a direct 1 to 1 perk counters.

The few that exist are non trap hex totems, perks that inflict exhaustion as Vigil exists to counteract them specifically, but it isn't a hard counter. Aura reading perks are temporarily counted by Distortion when the game doesn't just eat the tokens.

Most killer perks aren't designed to have full out counters on the survivor side instead opting for soft counter perks or player derived counterplay strategies.

Also the direct counter to medkits honestly isn't overwhelming presence these days. It's Sloppy Butcher though both perks are really only soft counters to medkits rather than making them completely non viable. Killer perks are more targeted on single aspects and thus are made somewhat strong to reflect that limited usability scope.

    um no

Beast of prey: just because the red stain is removed during bloodlust doesn’t make killers unloopable or invisible might harder but just gotta mind game efficiency and once killer is out of BL it’s gone

Most TR perks: get out the terror radius or use your eyes

Coup: an extended Lunge still doesn’t guarantee hits and this perk is limited to at most 10 tokens

BW: doesn’t last forever outlast it/play stealthy

BS: counterplay isn’t really needed don’t just stand there or t bag when you get a stun or throw a pallet and saving a few secs on breaking breaking stuff doesn’t guarantee you’ll catch a survivor or give you any edge

perks that block windows: can be outlasted it’s not like they’re blocked for the whole trial

gen regression perks not tied to hex or hook: do the gens before they go off and also gen regression perks don’t make gens impossible to complete

trap totems: can be outlasted plus vigil helps

perks that effect attack and action speed: just because you have faster attack and action speeds doesn’t mean you’re invincible or makes it impossible to do anything that effects that speed

I think you’re not understanding what I mean

should it be harder to counter killers as survivor? Yes but should it be impossible? No and lightborn shouldn’t be an acceptation

all the perks you mentioned have certain degrees of counterplay or counterplay isn’t even needed like with BS or any passive boost cause they don’t effect how others play just

counterplay doesn’t necessarily have to be this perk counters another it can just be other factors such as in general playing better and outsmarting the killer or using more resources to get the same effect and lightborn has none of that and even sloppy butcher can be counter with healspeed perks

  • I just feel that instead of BHVR addressing the core issues with the game like mag RNG being to big of a factor in matches,

power gaps between killers the difference between blight and legion is insane and also there shouldn’t even be a D or C tier killer all killers should be at least B tier or better

instead the devs just create a perk for the problem and just say either use the perk or dead with it either that or they just tear and gut down both roles till they’re as bland to play as possible all in the name of balance

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/382893/why-lightborn-is-problematic

You know what? Fine, remove Lightborn, but then ALSO reduce the angle from which you can be blinded. I know how to avoid being blinded, but the times they manage to blind me, its nearly always from OUTSIDE MY POV! I don't even SEE the one blinding me on my screen, but still the blind comes through. That is the stupidest thing regarding blinds in this game. And thats exactly why I will run Lightborn with two or more flashies, to not fall victim to such bullshit blinds.

I don’t mind lightborn being a counter to flashlights it’s just can’t be an absolute counter I feel it should start with tokens and work similar to distortion

Enjoying the game but it is frustrating. How certain characters Can't just turn around And punch the killers in the face Or pick up A two by four crack to kill over the head Or how these large Killer's can Keep up with the 120 pound Girls Running. What's up with this one shots That down you?

Characters like ash or Resident Evil characters And a few others On this game. Maybe not at all Of the killers But especially Michael Myers, Ghostface, Pig Like these major beta characters That could easily get their asses handed to them. It would be more fun And interesting for both sides Instead of survivors having to be helpless.

Love the violence But it Shouldn't be one sided to the killers. Honestly If Survivors could fight back I'd hunt the Killers myself All day every day baby `·_·´

    I bet you’re 12 aren’t you

There is no direct counter, which isn't really a thing that's being disputed. Everyone knows there is no 1 for 1 perk counter to Lightborn. What's disputed is if it is as you originally stated unhealthy for the game which we are on opposing sides of. You have soft indirect counters in the form of strategic play.

There's also no direct counters for a great deal of killer perks, Lightborn's not really a grand exception. Survivors rarely have more than soft counters or temporary counters to killer perks.

What other perks don’t have counters other than lightborn? And yes the perk is unhealthy because on how brain dead the perk is all you do is equip it and you’re safe if vigil made it to where you can never get exposed or suffer and other status then things would be way different wouldn’t it

even the direct counter to medkits overwhelming presence doesn’t make it to where you can’t heal with medkits they just drain real fast so you can still finish a heal but at cost of more chargers

  • Well what I heard is that they’re monitoring the perk and the next patch is needing PTS so I don’t expect MFT being nerfed anytime soon

  • yeah no if anything BHVR should punish dcers more harshly if doing it repeatedly

You realize that the build you're talking about is an investment of at least two perks to deal with one situation right? Starstruck and Mad Grit typically. The only reason that is somewhat reasonable is because Starstruck has a lot of leeway in it's usage, but that's not actually all that great unless you basically dedicate your entire build to it. You can't directly counter Lightborn, but you still subvert its effectiveness by using it against a killer. This requires you to be good at looping though as since the killer gets aura reading when you try to blind them a lot of Lightborn users will over commit to chases with flashlight users as you can actively see where they are going. You can use that to by substantial amount of time for teams to do other things or even come in to draw aggro.

so we agree there’s no counter to lightborn right?

The community complains about gen rushing, but that has nothing to do with whether or not they are attempting flashlight saves.

You're trying to stick to different issues together through a causal link that doesn't exist. Getting rid of lightborn isn't suddenly going to add inefficiency to the survivor objective getting done as considering how the optimal way is for everyone to split up and one man gens in most situations you're already dealing with around two people doing gens while the other two are engaged in something else. Also the complaints of "gen rushing" are often not referring to true genrush scenarios, but more of a statement how erratic gen times can as depending on the situation you can cut almost 30 seconds off of 90 second repair. I have entire rant about the lackluster and erratic nature of generators and their timing, but it's not pertinent right now.

I can tell you from my experience Lightborn having existed since basically day one and existing in it's current form since patch 5.0.0 it has no impact on whether players bring flashlights or any other blinding sources into a match. !) Because survivors don't know you have until they fail to blind you and 2)A lot of people who use it still go through the motions of doing camera tilts most of time so it isn't obvious that someone's using until they go for blinds during animation locks. Like for as many of us that use there are there are also far more killers who don't and thus if you're more often going to be able to use flashlight than not use it.

Now I'm throwing a generalities around because I play on NA East cause that is where live and typically my experience has been that my server is extremely blind heavy so I've never seen or heard about anyone being super dissuaded from bringing flashlights. Also I addressed your statement about paying attention to your surroundings earlier. You can do that and should do that, but that isn't a total shutdown of a situation like bodyblocking. It's very common for people to sprint up and get into your way AFTER you've been very careful to check surroundings. Depending upon what your surroundings at the time and how many people show you can easily find your sorta boxed into pathing that takes more or less either a hook further away than you intended forced to path through an area you typical wouldn't want to like say through a pallet. I've actually had a couple teams where people would obstruct my path enough because DBD is a game where bigger bodies can be weirdly hindered by smaller bodies that I basically got forced into a pallet that threw down early which ended up with me carrying someone and being pinned against the downed pallet.

At that point you can only really just drop them or have them wiggle off your shoulder. Now that's a edge case that has been super rare for me. Though what is more common is that I scare someone off, check my surroundings and their clear, but the person I need to pick up has moved to a pallet if it nearby or just moved enough that i have to waste time finding them which allows the other team mate to reset. Not complaining about it as that sort of layered point counter point gameplay I enjoy out of DBD. That stuff is genuinely what makes the game enjoyable, personally for me flashlights have never been particularly interesting to me even when I play survivor. I prefer going for body blocks in a limited capacity and I usually do other things like cleanse or boon totems.

Well bodyblocking has counters and builds that can stop that though like starstruck MG build and such but there’s nothing you can do about LB

I did read your entire post and responded to the points you made with counter arguments.

Justifying genrushing because someone uses Lightborn is a weird thing to do. The use of one doesn't really make a difference to the other, teams that actually engage in actual gen rushing were never concerned with whether or not they could get blinds in the first place. Blinds don't get gens done, doing gens gets gens done. If you actually read what I said, I addressed the fact that they should be addressing root causes with reasonable changes that would be healthier for the game. I also said I'd consider a change to Lightborn's function if those were the changes made, but I honestly do not believe Lightborn is problematic. It's not majorly consequential in the majority matches played and often doesn't really aid the killer in a way that "robs" survivors of earned wins.

Like the only the times I've really felt like Lightborn in anyway was carrying me is when I faced people who wanted blinds so bad that they just refused to really do anything else even though it was very apparent that I couldn't be blinded. When people actually use their heads and realize that Lightborn is in play they use different tactics such as bodyblocks to buy time or corral my movement if a usable pallet is near by. So they more or less still get what they want which is a save cause they were able and willing to adjust to the situation. We have a back and forth engagement whereas flashlights aren't really all that back and forth. It either works or it doesn't and once you learn the non-negotiable animation locks and timing it just becomes a "It just works".

well those were probably noob players who weren't aware what lightborn is good player won't try to blind anymore when they see you running lightborn so they focus on gens then the community complains about gen rushing so again is someones following you for a save then they're not doing gens how is that weird makes sense to me but i feel lightborn has kinda became like unbreakable for survivors cause of the fear aspect of lightborn survivors may not wanna bring flashlights anymore due to lightborn being so absolute i feel the devs should make the blind animation killers go through less eye straining for the playere thats fine but blocking out an entire game mechanic is unfair also theres counters to bodyblocking like i keep saying pay attention to your surroundings

I know what WoO does, the point is I dont see how WoO does not equally cause a learning deficit on the same grounds that Lightborn does. Which would be baseless as far as I am concerned.

This is part of what I was trying to say about LB with the learning deficit I would say at most LB is like training wheels for killers but when I see someone in high MMR with LB I just imagine a grown man on an adult bike with training wheels on it still

    Because,

If you consider to amount of mental exertion required to get a down vs. the amount required to get a flash save, flash saves objectively are not fair (especially since it was made easier to get flash saves not long ago).

Killer jumps a 5 ft hurdle to get a down.

Survivor jumps a 2 ft hurdle to make the killer repeat the chase.

And in the short amount of time it takes to complete gens, it's actually sort of bogus.

    I mean come on...

Well do you realize when survivors figure out the killers using LB then they don’t bother trying I’m sure i mentioned this if a survivor is following the killer for a save they’re not really doing gens and again you wonder why gen rushing is a thing

  • yay let’s make hexes even more map rng dependent

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3477697#Comment_3477697

You don't give flashlights enough credit, in the right conditions they are menacing tools. At higher MMR you have to contend with more teams being able to play with a high level of efficiency so running lightborn is possible, but ill-advised because at that point you really want to use your perk slots to optimize either your chase, slowdown, or info generation. That's the exact concept behind things becoming meta in the power role.

You don't really want to spend a slot perma-locking lightborn if you don't have to. The most fun item for survivors should probably be something other than flashlights, which as I said are in a fine place. They have a very specific function that when it works there very little that can stop it aside from using lightborn because the times when people use flashlights the most are the times the killer is not allowed to tilt their head to dodge the beam. I get you want to do stuff with flashlights more often, but playing against them every single game is not only aggravating, but pain inducing. That's how about 75-80% of my games are, people using flashlights, flashbangs, and blast mines. Now killer doesn't really have much in the way of accessibility features to help someone like me who has slight hearing sensitivity issues and really shouldn't be getting constantly IRL blinded by playing a video game.

Sabo's annoying, but at least it doesn't cause me pain and both sides can actually play around it evenly depending on hook RNG. If someone is consistently dodging your beam there it's the same as having lightborn just without the aura reading. So it ain't like you're going to get anymore blinds then you already would depending on your skill level. Lightborn just allows us to not have to have every pallet break, locker grab, and pick up result in getting bombarded by the light of god.

Maybe if the devs made it so you couldn't do back to back blinds in rapid succession, reworked the visual to not be a pain inducing color filter and just made killers put their hands up or cover their face with their weapon, and got rid of blast mine I'd be more inclined to consider this. Yet, even then lightborn's not unhealthy for the game nor is it problematic and nor is it magically robbing survivors of fun. Killer perks are by design seemingly meant to be a little unfair, but they are also pretty limited in the scope of their uses. You gain strength in a few specific areas at the cost of losing it in many others and considering there is only one of us and 4 y'all combined y'all have wider coverage of strengths and minimal trade offs.

Also, OG Lightborn did used to just make it take longer before a killer got blinded, but in that form the perk just went unused entirely because it didn't actually make it that difficult. Killers went a very long time before having any way at a perk level to counter flashlights. The only other counter was Franklin's and that didn't exist until Bubba did.

did you even read my entire post I addressed most of what you mentioned other than the whole eye strain thing but even then it’s not ok for the game to slap a perk on it and call it fixed and you wonder why you get gen rushed

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

Well, it depends on how many bully squads you have run into that are abusing flashlights to their fullest.

It's really not fun being blinded 24/7 by those. So therefore Lightborn is quite essential in those situations. My rule of thumb is that if I see two or more flashlights in the lobby, then Lighborn comes out.

One player bringing a flashlight is usually not a big deal

Well like I stated there’s plenty of ways other than lightborn to deal with flashlights on top of the perk being absolute

  • @WinchesterxNL said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3477432#Comment_3477432

Green key. That's the most useless item.

Flashlights are still the most used item in my own lobbies

Well flashlights are the most fun item even with green keys you can still put add ons on them just can’t open hatch

  • Well being able to grab survivors off hooks saves encourages the killer to camp hooks which means survivors can’t get points in certain categories

  • @WinchesterxNL said:

Personally. I only use Lightborn if I see 3 or 4 people with a flashlight in my lobby.

You're giving Franklin's as an alternative to it, but it essentially does the same thing. It removes the ability to be blinded. I personally simply get tired when I get blinded during the breaking of a pallet and they feel like doing it a couple more times afterwards. It's incredibly disorienting, which I suppose is the purpose. But also induced headaches, like one person here has already mentioned. It's a decent counter for when you as a killer get the feeling that this next group of survivors, is a bully squad. That's my only reason for using it.

If the blinding animation would either be able to be adjusted, or simply changes. And the moveset for picking up a survivor or anything else that locks the camera in a certain position might get some changes, then I'll drop it entirely.

But other than that. Saying its a perk that simply allows people to be lazy and not learn how to play the game "correctly" is a bit of a problematic thing to say. I could then also counter you with saying how the perk from Bill that allows you to see the hatch at the end is just as problematic because killers don't have anything like that.

Well I would say with the whole being blind as killer I don’t personally experience that headache feeling but if that is happening it’s not fair flashlights get punished for it reworking the blinding effect on killers like make the screen turn black rather than white or something

  • @ReikoMori said:

No one really cares about Botany Knowledge or Prove Thyself. They are manageable and besides there are a ton more perks that can fulfill their roles.

Flashlights are in a good as they are now. They work against anyone not running lightborn which is still the majority of killer players and the further up you go in MMR the less you see it used because the competition doesn't really let you waste a perk slot on something so limited.

Well then why is PTS getting nerfed if nobody cares about it and BK is still an A tier perk and tell me other perks that replace them all together

and not only did you just prove my point on only the lower MMR killers only use lightborn and flashlights are the most useless item survivors maps and keys even have more use than flashlights and you call that a good place

the only reason why people bring flashlights cause they’re the most fun item survivor have next to sabo toolboxes but that a bit harder to pull off

Every survivor perk that hides auras, scratchmarks, grunts of pain, or pools of blood, has no counter. And that is a lot of perks. For example, Stridor doesn't counter -100% survivor noise perks, and Bloodhound doesn't counter -100% survivor blood perks.

Well even if that’s the case that doesn’t mean finding survivors is impossible

What is a flashlight build do aside from going for blinds constantly? Also what even is a "flashlight build" in your words

Well I would say a flashlight build is a build that I can get the most from my flashlight without needing to stack batteries and be able to use perks like Residual Manifest and use bulbs and lens for better angles and there should be more perks like RM that can give flashlights move utility unless you all want more PTS or BK

  • Ya the pipping system in this game needs serious reworks

  • So what kind of perks can survivors have then without them being op?

By your logic, every player is bad. Devs included. If you use any perk other than No Mither, I gladly point out how bad you are for using crutches instead of getting better.

Lightborn doesn't negate an entire build in any sort of fashion. It just prevents blinds and if you're trying to make entire builds around constantly blinding the killer then you've got a different problem.

It’s not about blind the killer constantly and it make flashlight builds useless

  • @Frogsplosion said:

You're not always going to get value out of a flashlight and that's okay because Lightborn is extremely limited in what it does. The killer is immune to blinds and gets a bit of aura reading, but it is literally all it does. It's not a good a perk by any metric, but like a lot of killer perks it has a specific function that can be helpful in exchange for not having a slot to run more universally accepted good perks.

Now that isn't what you want to hear, but it is the case. It's not the specific blinding animation that is the problem it is all the animations a killer has in the game where they lose control of the camera for short period of time. Also the fact that there are now more sources of blinding available outside of flashlights that sort of necessitate the use of a perk that otherwise actually got used very rarely. The worst thing for flashlight users was the moment they started adding other items and perks that gave the ability to blind. People didn't use to waste a slot on lightborn unless basically the whole lobby pulled out beamers, but once you started getting other stuff to produce blinds and players started going hog wild with it a bad perk became crucial for a lot of players who either didn't want to deal with blinds from a gameplay perspective or an accessibility perspective.

One would think that maybe the problem isn't Lightborn and killers, but design decisions that should be rethought around blinds and the massive lockdown on graphic options.

Ya and that’s part of the reason why this game is going down the drain rather than fixing the game they throw a perk at the problem and say good job and it’s not the fact of getting value it’s more of lightborn being too easy of a solution for an entire build

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I played this game for years without using lightborn, so I've learned the counters to flashlights. They are overall not super impactful when you have to deal with multiple beamers on top of playing around forced animation lock blinds. Getting blinded at locker grabs and pallets on top of getting blast mined while kicking a damn generator which is part of my gameplay loop along with party starters, firecrackers, and flashbangs being very regular items in my games made it so doing the camera counters were effectively useless. Also keep in mind that there are a lot of players who use Shadowborn for FoV accessibility even though it opens them up to being even more susceptible to blinds, not an issue I have usually but it's still something to consider about folks using lightborn.

The way blinds are handled in this game are also terrible. They induce headaches and ramp up eye strain really bad which would normally be solved by being able to adjust my graphics in-game so I'm not getting as much searing bright light in an otherwise dark game all of a sudden. It's not fun playing against flashlights, but it is fun playing with flashlights so for the side that has to be on the receiving end of them constantly game after game it is a toxic on top of physically aggravating. So I now make the choice to just run lightborn every game I play as killer.

Lightborn lets the side that actually has fun playing with flashlights still have their fun, but I can actually play through a game without having to deal with the majority of ill effects I get IRL from people constantly shining a dang light in my already bad eyes. Calling killers garbage when a lot of us are running basically a perk down just so we can continue playing the game comfortably while the devs have made it point in the past to keep giving y'all more and more things to aggressively blind killers in the past kinda sucks.

You can do all the things mentioned and still get blinded because while you can really on address one to two sources of a blind at once and you can blind a killer from much further than a killer can attack you. I play against folks who are obsessed with constantly blinding killers and they don't care about starstruck. Franklin's only matters if you can get a hit, but people who are good at flashlight blinds aren't going to make themselves that available to be hit to start with. You can have the most hyper vigilant situational and spatial awareness and still get blinded because animation locks on pick ups are pretty generous. Facing a wall works most of the time, but also sometimes facing a wall doesn't work. If you use something like Shadowborn or Monitor and Abuse then things get even less consistent.

So why should flashlight be useless cause how blinding works fix the blinding animation

If by playing like bots you mean "doing the thing that benefits you at that moment in time" sure. But that's just about every game.

    can you explain

There are definitely more things to do than "flashlight or gen".

I never use flashlights, and somehow I manage to play the game just fine.

well it’s a variety problem there’s not enough builds in the game that are both fun and viable it’s like survivors have to play like bots in order to play the game

An absolute counter to an item, that aren't required and you can chose not to use.

What do you think about Franklins, or Overwhelming Presence?

Countering item usage is an element of killer build customisation.

Franklins and overwhelming both have counters

Franklins: don’t get hit/ drop your item somewhere and built to last and

overwhelming presence: doesn’t prevent you from using medkits it drains them faster so leave terror radius

and I know flashlights aren’t required but what else are survivors suppose to do other than gen rush then it gets complained about

Im not comparing the function of the Perks, I am comparing the Design Philosophy of both of them.

Windows of Opportunity helps Survivors SO MUCH thats why its used so often.

True but windows doesn’t guarantee safety and can be countered with blind status and knowing how to mind game and counter loops while lightborn has no counter play except do gens then it’s all about gen rushing

  • @Emeal said:

Survivors have Windows of Opportunity which encourages them not to learn to plan their escape.

So how can Lightborn be a problem, Surely both sides deserve equal treatment regarding perks that take away a bad part of the game?

Well comparing perks with different functions is pretty impractical also don’t killers have a windows perks too and just because you can see vaults and pallets doesnt mean you still don’t need to plan escapes it may help you find a loop easier but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to know how to loop and play the game while lightborn you don’t need to learn to play

windows maybe at most training wheels to help find loop but it’s not an absolute protective blank like lightborn

Survivor whine WAY more than killer, both side of the game are extremly toxic since they rely on making the other person experiance mediocre to have fun

Exactly so why should one side have an absolute counter just cause they can’t play?

Umm... I don't see how any perk is not meant to appeal to bad players. If they were that good, they'd play without them.

I can't even come up with a sufficiently snarky response to the idea that devs should not influence how the game they develop is being played. It's like saying that a director should not affect the movies he directs.

I never said that I don’t believe the game should revolve around people who dont know how to play are you saying the devs are bad players

  • If I were to play Michael myers with all the op iridescent add ons or any powerful killer build is that fun or toxic?

  • @desperadoscres said:

Lightborn is a choice, flashlight are pretty useless and are just here to be toxic to the killer and to anoye him ( exept for flashlight save )

Someone that use lightborn just want to negate a relativly rare anoyance

Again confusing toxicity with fun what if killers wanna run Mori Myers is that fun or toxic?

  • @Evan_ said:

I don't see the issue. If a casual killer player doesn't want to learn playing against this tactic, he can sacrifice a perk-slot. It's not a small price to pay, and I feel it's good flashlight value for survivors when it happens.

It's also my impression that everyone drops Lightborn sooner or later.

Well it is since it’s effecting the entire meta of the game and I don’t believe the devs should make perks to appeal to bad killer players nor should they have a say on how the game is played
