It's more the skill reward ratio. Looping for multiple gens takes a lot more skill than tunneling or camping. Evidence: Baby killers camp/tunnel all the time, baby survivors dont loop multiple gens.
repairing a generator is the easiest thing you can do and yet it is also the most important objective for survivors. the most important objective of killers is to kill survivors and chasing is the only way to do it, which also happens to be the most difficult part of playing killer. but there's no point in arguing with this reasoning because that's literally just how the game is designed as an asymmetrical game. you cant have survivors primary objective require interaction with the killer because then why are we even playing dbd at that point and not a 1v1 game.
-
ill never understand when people argue against literal strategies and say 'it takes 0 skill' as if that matters. survivor takes 0 skill in repairing generators from the beginning, i think survivors should find the killer and start getting chased asap because that takes more skill. or if they have totem spots memorized they should use that knowledge to find and hunt down dull totems because that takes more skill.
what do you expect the killer to do besides chase the first and most vulnerable target they see. run around patrolling unoccupied generators like a bad AI would thinking this applies the magical strategy of 'map pressure'?
-
they arent gonna do ######### there's your answer. it's so disgusting that these people think switch can max out what feels like 25 fps with stutters and drops to 15 on a 2016 game with UE4. dawg dying light, an open world game with better graphics, runs far better on the same platform. then again you shouldnt be surprised because this is the same company that thinks optimization is making the new generation consoles to run on 60 fps despite them being capable of running AAA games like gow ragnarok on 120 fps (with some graphics downgrade nevertheless), and the older generation to buy the new console.

you're sad about a perk being nerfed while freddy mains literally lost their killer 5 years ago. people who paid for legion when the killer almost killed the game and enjoyed him for only about half a year. dont worry though its just a perk and there're still gonna be better perks once the patch goes live

Nah, Bots are just useless. The only thing they do is benefit the Killer.
@Topic:
Remove the DC-Penalty and Hook Suicides will go down.
the entire point of this post is to ask changes to punish hook suicidals for working around the disconnect penalty. they want them to have a penalty for quitting out early. like, of course hook suicides will go down because ESC-quit game-confirm is faster than going through the sac process, that's logic.

Killers not complaining in any event challenge impossible.
Unbalanced this unbalanced that, just enjoy the event and the bps holy crap.
its an event therefore we must enjoy!! you cannot make any complaints so that future events are just as enjoyable!
i for one enjoy the event particularly so when i have to go into some nonsense fragment of a map and play as trapper even though i queued up as wesker. the bloodpoint bonus i get even though all my characters are maxed out just adds the cherry on top. good job devs, you did some novel work with this event. keep em coming!

use the anticamp perks in the game
camaraderie is great

i have no doubt bhvr will do something about this as long as it draws more attention

wow there's an unbelievably rare occasion where a god pallet got countered by one of the best killers, how unfair. when are we going to nerf deathslinger for sniping me through a pixel in killer shack wall, name any other killer that can do this

1 survivor death, Wraith chased Jake on last hook, I and Yunjin were doing the last gen, Gen at 95%, I leave for Gate. Its only a skill check spawn right at that moment that made Gen extended for another 9sec.
That 9sec was enough for Wraith to last hook Jake and ran to our place to chase me and killed me. YunJin escaped.
That 9sec gave Wraith another kill.
1 pop or 2 in late game where 1-2 survivors are death and pallets are gone, is more than enough to give killer one extra chase, where it could be the last chase for that survivor, which an extra kill.
Same to a success DH can extend that 9sec for the last survivor to complete the last Gen, giving 1 escape.
But thats just how perks work. They do give a kill or deny a kill. If Pop doesnt give killers extra kills, why do killers use slowdown?
so is this an extra kill or the effect of slowdown, because all slowdown perks give extra kills with that logic and not just pop

Survivors don't have anything overpowered and nullify killers. How about when survivors have perfect mindgames but killers get a little reaching hand from nowhere that says "I am sorry poor killer you seem to be having a hard time since the survivor is so much better than you, here's a little speed boost (bloodlust) to nullify survivor skill and get rewarded with a down"
I'm sure you have nothing to say about that.
there are pallet loops in the game that can be pretty much impossible to mindgame against good survivors without bloodlust for killers with garbage or no antiloop. that's why bloodlust exists. most of the time bloodlust 1 activates for 2 seconds after finally catching up and then is reset when the killer breaks the pallet. if you think its fair that you should be able to 1v1 the killer for possibly the entire trial duration because they picked a D tier killer then i'm glad you're not on the already rotten balance team.
-
the way you worded this perk, you could do it with unrelenting and call it op
btw what are extra kills and how does pop give extra kills

At their theoretical best, both perks are OP.
in all practicality, they don't get that sort of usage. People love to throw out the "20% more distance" number as if that's something that really happens.
People are freaking out over a strong perk. I've seen it happen for years now, sometimes they're onto something, sometimes they arent.
ive seen it happen for years now too and you should be concerned about a perk that has such an effect for doing nothing. none of these types of perks have been fun to play against ever ex. mettle of man or decisive strike. getting 3% haste for as long as you're injured by getting injured is the same asinine logic as getting a free hit shield for getting hit 3 times. no other haste buff from a perk is acquired by simply injured because of how insane it is. why would you ever equip yoichi's haste boon perk (which only gives 2% compared to 3%) when MFT exists. perks should not be so overpowered that you literally dont have a reason to use any of the other haste perks over MFT because 1. they are actually worse and 2. too rare and limited to actually make it worth (blood pact).

And yet, the perk isn't causing Survivors to just escape.
Perk is good. Strong, but not OP. Remove the Endurance, add Exhaustion.
Perk is just like Hyperfocus.
i want to know how you say this perk is just like hyperfocus bc frankly that makes 0 sense how you compare a perk that is always game breaking with no effort required vs a perk that actually requires some skill (and some luck as well) to make it worth using
if you are not equipping MFT in your build as a survivor, that means you dont mind being at a disadvantage on purpose just like not equipping an exhaustion perk on purpose. nobody cares if you pick empathy over bond but people care if you pick joke/niche perk over MFT because it isn't debatable which one actually matters
-
if people cared legion wouldnt be nerfed nor deathslinger
-
youll never be "good" on switch but you can still be a decent teammate if you equip a good build and do your part by holding R on the generadors

Why are we prentending 'reaction' is everything, when 'preempting' attacks are a far more common tactic, regardless of how fast the killer's attack comes out.
Killer's attack at certain predictable times, when the survivor is in a vulnerable place such as vaulting a window, or when their attack comes off cooldown, etc.
This works just as well for M1 attacks, it can work for the Tail spear as well.
but youre playing on console, it's like a whole different thing playing killer on controller. even oni without the flick can be looped against the avrage controller player and thats a huge nerf on a killer that is supposed to antiloop in his power spike. also you decided to m2 when it was a free m1 hit, trying to aim at a survivor in an open space where they can take any direction is imho harder than playing the loop and getting a much safer hit because the survivor can only turn backward or continue in the same direction. you have a higher chance of dodging any ranged attack in an open space compared to a loop. if this wasnt the case pyramid head would be S tier.

i understand what ur saying but i dont feel threatened when im in a chase with an alien, i feel annoyed that i have minimal agency in my part and its only a matter of time before i die. this is an even worse feeling than playing against nurse because if the nurse player is bad, you can still outplay her. with alien you literally just zigzag until he eventually lands the hit.
with someone with clear gameplay from both perspectives (wesker for example) i feel threatened because i know i can last this chase for a long time as long as i dont make mistake. you said ppl are crying about alien because he's a strong killer since wesker. this is bad generalization because personally i am not against strong killers as long as they're fair e.g. huntress and wesker and im sure many others who play both sides feel the same.
i would rather play against a blight than an alien knowing blight is stronger because at least it feels like i can do something that matters in a chase against an average blight. Alien is just a cringe hold w and pray gameplay. it reminds of the freddy rework when every noob picked him because he had everything a killer needed to be good and had brainless chase sequences. anyway thats just my two cents, i dont feel happy to be found and chased by any killer but at least some of them are fun to be in a chase with.
-
Whats your thoughts on Yoichi?
-
no offense to knighlight but you dont need a 'pro' player to confirm what is op and what is not in this game that has less depth than mario kart
mft's been op long before he tweeted about it, it's basically the new decisive strike when that was practically 60 seconds of invincibility, and everyone who cared about winning used it.
-
they shouldnt have let the losing team nullify a legitimate loss and get the point on top of that. the match was played on purpose bc they knew nic cage is no different than claudette morel in gameplay and wanted to practice and waste ppl's time knowing they're gonna get a free win anyway
-
when they balance the game around not camping i hope, cuz at the moment if you are not proxy camping you are most likely either playing nurse or blight or not playing to win

yea i play with the joycons like a PSP

i play this game on switch and pc and by god switch killer is so soooooo bad, it's pretty much impossible to compete as any killer that requires precision and fast turns, and even the simple basic attacks are a challenge

camp
-
it may be defined as a bug but they cannot fix this bug without changing the physics of blight therefore is it really a bug that can be simply removed? in my view a bug is something like the wake up bug which gave you bonus speed on everything instead of just the exit gate, now that's a certified bug because it's not supposed to do that according to the perk description. in blight's case and many other killers who have their own 'techs', it's generally due to how they are coded and shouldn't be unexpected.
-
because he is an example of what good killers are and how killers should be designed, the exact same reason why hillbilly got a 'rework'

trapper? sadako? trickster? doctor? do u even play the game??
since when did trickster become weak. as long as main event exists he cannot be classified bad just bc of the camping potential.

Being able to test your map knowledge and positioning. Contrary to popular belief, holding the W key doesn't counter Knight. It helps him.
Sure, whichever guard is chasing you isn't likely to land a hit. But they don't have to hit you. They just have to keep you busy whilst Knight does something else. And if Carnifex is chasing you, and all you do is run forward, you're going to do a full cross-map run before getting on gens again.
That being said, there's still lots that could be improved about Knight's design. I'm still in the process of creating a full re-work for him that I'll post once it's finished.
how can you suck he sucks at camping when you can camp someone and a generator at the same time, this is very useful for stalling the last ~15 seconds of a hook without losing pressure
-
imagine if they added voice chat as an in-game option. see how many perks become practically useless and how many killers become extremely difficult to play. the funniest part is that people are actually arguing about this when the answer cannot be more obvious to anyone who has played dbd or a multiplayer team game for that matter
-
why do you think horizontally stretched res is so broken
-
this is a late response but i hope it can help anyway,
ive been seperated from someone i grew up with and love like a brother for 7 years now and counting, my family's also been distanced for months at once but now we are together again although i still miss the others
the best way to calm yourself down is focus on studying or working accepting the fact but keep reminding yourself that you'll see your brother again, that's how i did it and still do
you might see other people having fun with their siblings and this might make you feel bad, and honestly i dont know what to do in that situation myself, i think that's when it hurts the most

The terms 'camping' and 'face camping' have been used interchangeably for years
except here, they clearly said what they think face camping is:
Face-camping is a term used to describe when a killer stands in front of a hooked survivor and refuses to move, or do anything really, usually for a large portion if not the entirety of the match.
a mechanic to address facecamping.
they're punishing all forms of being near a hooked survivor which will be a gigantic nerf to every single killer except nurse.
you can argue as much as you want whether this is a good change or a bad change, but it's essential to clarify what is actually being argued.
-
you ever thought about why the devs won't add a separate queue for casuals and another for tryhards? i think because nobody wants to play with the tryhards, not even the tryhards themselves. the game's fundamentals are simply that bad. a dbd player has to accept the fact sooner or later that the game is very bland when it is played optimally.
-
myers facecamps better
-
they're also nerfing pain resonance, call of brine ,overcharge
dead hard could still be a good perk, it depends on the time it will remain activated. unhooking someone injured especially with the heaing nerfs will be a lot more common and this helps with that
-
her power is ltierally a bunch of information perks mixed together. i guarantee if it wasnt for the exposed bonus, which is barely useful, she would be at about the same strength of a ptb ghostface (actually powerless). there's a reason why information perks aren't meta. you dont really need perks to tell you that survivors are going to be on generators, and many other powers have ways to use them for information.
if this killer could somehow teleport like hag does to a drone when a survivor is spotted, then she could do something and profit off the power, but then she'd literally just be hag with less traps at 115% speed.
you could play ghostface and expose mid-chase to do the same thing the new killer does but faster and better.
-
you should stop playing dbd or any multiplayer pvp game for that matter then, maybe come back when they add killer bots

I heard from a gaming website that you're aiming for before the end of January.
Is that true or is there much more to do first?
are planned to be released on all platforms later this month.
from the January 2023 developer update
it's likely going to be in around a week
however, they never gave an official date or confirmed anything just in case they can't finish by the date. they dont want to disappoint the players

Because killer mains complained about 2 survivors inside 2 lockers side by side with flashlights (Something very easy to counter and it used to happen in like 1 every 50 games at best)
And now everybody has to face a better flashlight save as a whole.
your argument doesnt make sense, they're two different things
-
this doesnt make a difference, meta build will be meta build. use it and you'll barely feel a difference. the affected perks are not that good anyways. ppl will still complain about nurse, there's just gonna be none of stuff like starstruck nurse or nurse stops perks from being buffed.
-
it's more likely due to the trash servers and matchmaking. sometimes, especially in long queues, i'll get put with players from different continents, and it blatantly shows in-game. i wouldn't eliminate the cheaters being a factor, but probably not as common as the servers being what they are.

That "fact" can easily be disputed.
A team of 4 high skilled survivors with no comms will have much better overall results than a 4 man SWF of average skilled players, against the same killers.
The only way your statement could be 100% truth and fact would be if you had a team of 4 solo queue players with the same skill level as a 4 man swf team, and had them playing matches against the same skill level killers.
Under these conditions you would see probably better results by the SWF, depending on how efficiently they are using their comms would determine how much better they do.
The fact that to make your statement 100% fact, requires many stipulations with regards to matchmaking, shows that you cant just say "solo queue will never be as good as swf".
we both know what i meant, you wrote all that just to argue off my general wording. matchmaking is a separate issue that shouldn't be considered in game balance.
-
This is true, but you're making the wrong claim. You should instead say things like "solo queue will never be as good as swf". Facts that cannot be disputed.
