  • dredge is the only killer that can apply IRL blindness to console players.

alternatively learn how to play against the blight and u wont need to ask for nerfs on top of nerfs

  • no but text/voice chat for everyone would ruin the immersion of the game. false immersion is more important than actually having fun according to devs and some vocal players. there's no balancing problem, swf doesnt give that much of an advantage, hud info is enough trust, dont do critical thinking.

  • ive changed many mains as killers got nerfed, buffed or reworked, but none have kept me as much as wesker. probably because he barely got changed since release and he's arguably the most balanced killer along with blight. you can snowball games and have flexibility on power usage but almost always there's counterplay. also the feeling you get when you mindgame a weird loop and slam/throw a survivor is unmatched.

I've been killed by the same bot hacking as Billy on Midwich at least 10 times in the last few weeks. Sometimes multiple times per day, always a midwich offering, instantly teleports, downs, and hooks everyone. Pretty good job!

i met that guy you describe yesterday evening, reported him and today i got a feedback message on my report. it was a hillbilly with legacy cosmetics who teleported and instantly downed and hooked us at the start of the game. idk if it is the same guy and if he's actually banned but he literally has a youtube channel where he streams sometimes with blatant cheats. however if you click on his steam profile, it's somebody else. i hope bhvr didnt ban an impersonated account

  • i miss the 4.5.0 ptb animations, it felt very smooth, realistic, and modern

  • why are so mnay people here against it solely because it ruins the immersion or toxicity? just mute, you dont have to be a part of the vc. yeah some teammates might get frustrated because you arent communicating, but how are they gonna tell you they're frustrated if they cant talk to you? sandbag? we already have that and reports

yes dont get me wrong there would be some amazing benefits, but i do think the bad outweighs the good here.

i dont see why survvs shouldnt have to use a perk to compensate for voice comms, they already use perks for alot of other things.

and you can know alot by looking at the hook for example, is the killer chasing somone, chasing someone off a gen, is adren abt to pop etc. i think we need alot more for the hud dont get me wrong, and as i said more basekit stuff like kindred.

but i really dont see a point for voice comms, maybe one in ten matches youll get value, then the other 9 youll get told to frontflip of a bridge onto concrete.

and i do feel voice comms would ruin the immersion aswell unless its proxy, and yes i know, they game isnt really about immersion but still.

i dont see why survvs shouldnt have to use a perk to compensate for voice comms, they already use perks for alot of other things.

you literally answered your own question.

  • here are some common examples that you think might not be significant but can change the outcome of the match

"dont pop that gen yet i have adrenaline let me get downed"

"my deliverance is active dont come"

"let me tank i have OTR"

"come to this locker i can head on"

"he's coming to you from main"

    "he has undetectable"

    "careful mirror myers"

"get off gen he's about to hook"

"my self unhook bar is at 90% leave"

    "he placed a trap (somewhere)"

"im gonna run through hag's web"

"dont bring the killer to (location)"

    "lets reset there quickly"

you can know by either having a perk equiped

so you're saying solo survivors should have to use perks to compensate for lack of voice comms

      looking at the HUD no?

none of these common examples can be known by looking at the hud

voice communications are not to just let others know what you and the killer are doing, it's also to plan and work together

the possibility of toxic kids and the fact that players may have to learn a little bit more terminology (really not needed for a game as simple as this, dbd is not siege) to be slightly more efficient doesn't mean solo survivor should be the worst role in the game while the game's balanced for swf. also the mute option will obviously exist so it's completely optional.

You and I both, I made a post about the same thing. It gets stale after a while and instead of fixing the game we keep getting pumped with chapters.

I'd rather get work done on the animations, hit boxes etc.. but we keep getting chapters with abysmal perks, on the surv side at least

unlikely that they'll change the animations after 4.5.0 scandal

The minute the devs start removing content from the game is when people will feel justified in asking for the removal of stuff they don't like.

people already feel justified and it wouldnt be the first time they removed content. the current state of RPD is arguably more harmful than worth having simply because its licensed. a raccoon city street map would've been far better for DBD gameplay, not long unplayable corridors

    My cycle goes like this:

Run full meta on a strong killer and win easily>get bored and run semi-meta on a bottom tier killer only to get rolled>Run full meta on a strong killer and win easily>repeat cycle

    same here chief

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Its a good map now that it's separated. I don't mind it at all.

    whats good about RPD

  • boring as hell. i can tell what kind of match im going to have just by looking at survivors in the lobby. that summarizes the state of the game. you should not be able to tell exactly how a match is going to go before it even starts. that is extreme repetitiveness almost insanity.

  • any means necessary but for destroyed pallets

  • when you pick up the survivor put your mouse dpi to max and spin your camera around and attack the air. this can throw survivors off on the DS skill check

  • chase music for plague

  • let soloq communicate in game with words

  • she would be a great killer for the reasons you mentioned. +1 from me

  • he's basically a repeat of old legion but not as big a failure. if you try to play him the ways devs intended (strategically), you end up hurting yourself because a guard hunt time is at most 10 seconds thanks to the stupid banner. if the guard doesn't spot anyone then you have no power for that entire patrol duration. the correct playstyle is to not think and simply brute force the loops which is exactly what old legion did (not just the moonwalk nonsense, i mean literally just waiting for power cooldown and getting free hits).

  • its gotta be wholesome pursuer. corrupt intervention ends up doing the same thing since survivors move closer to the killer for open gens. besides you can approximate the spawn location of survivors without any perk anyway. i've had trouble finding survivors at the beginning of the match only in horrible maps like RPD.

  • average wraith game: dodge swf lobbies → break every pallet and make the map one big deadzone → setup a 3 gen and camp it → start playing the game of attrition

  • the 2 perks despite being mediocre are licensed and if you wanna never spend real money on the game you should get them now and then get the 'free' killers later.

  • youre not the only player with bad teammates, accept it or stop playing soloq. it took them years to add the status indicators on HUD, maybe in another few years we'll finally get in-game text and voice chat. apparently it ruins the precious immersion of constantly screaming while running the big bad kpop star around a car on a preschool garden.

  • i found 2 hackers last week. first was teleporting outside of the map and literally vanishing the prompt to hook a carried survivor. the second one was also teleporting and wiggling out everyone in like 3 seconds. first one got banned since.

before this, the last blatant hacker i encountered was a speedhacker some time ago who had background player before the perk even existed.

  • 99% exits unless necessary and camp at the exit gate to heal others or waste killer's time

  • every match feels the same and i dont think i need to elaborate too much on this. there's a meta and you must play like meta slaves to win. the game does not reward you for picking underused perks or playing for fun. you have to optimize your gameplay as much as possible.

bhvr needs to add something ACTUALLY interesting to the game. the blood moon event this year was one of the most boring events ever. if it wasnt for the stupid amounts of BP, this event would've been considered a failure. they should add a new gamemode like one of those they had in the survey a while back, and not something that gets boring quickly like lights out. something that doesnt change the base gameplay but still freshens it up: a team vs team mode (kill the survivors faster than the other team's killer), play with random loadouts, down a survivor to make them the killer, no addons/items, etc.

  • name any simple pubstomper and toxic noobs gravitate towards them. chuckfuck, ghostface, freddy when he was pay to win, wraith, doctor, etc. stuff that will dominate average soloq teams. even though nurse and hillbilly are free and top 3 killers, you wont see them played by these nobodies often because the vast majority sucks.

there's the tryhard and actually good toxics who play decent stuff like billy, wesker, huntress, blight, et cetera, and then there are the average plebeians who want to get some satisfaction out of beating randoms they struggle against. these noobs tend to be the same people complaining on forums most

  • it's sad if they take this route. i mean it will work to stop the slugging playstyle (which is the most optimal way to play twins), but at that point twins becomes another braindead antiloop killer. this would be assassination followed by a nerf because the victor antiloop is too strong pretty much like they did with freddy.

im a massive twins main because there's quite literally no killer like them in the game. closest comes the knight but he doesn't actually play the second killer and has to reset power between each down. i dont enjoy the current state of twins but i prefer it compared to the simple 'find, down, and hook' gameplay that is too common these days. of course nobody is gonna care about the thoughts of the twins mains just like old freddy mains because they've the lowest pickrate even if the killer design is very unique.

Slighty off-topic but what does "Weaving Spiders" mean?

spiders that are weaving a web

  • it is extremely strong when done properly. each second the killer is not in a chase is a net positive for the survivors. this is also a significant reason why killers with good mobility (hillbilly, blight, etc.) are the best. they have very little downtime between chases and it's hard to stealth against them because there's much less time to get off gen and to cover before being seen. killers that dont have this mobility tend to resort to proxy camping and make survivors come to them. of course every killer proxy camps but especially a killer like trapper you can expect they're gonna camp the basement for the rest of the game once 1 guy's hooked down there.

  • if a survivor gives up very early or if i know i've won midway and it wasn't a challenging game, i'll let the remaining survivors finish the gens and give them some stuns

  • i had the same ideas as you do. he definitely needs longer range (~30 meters) and faster harpoon speed to match the range. idk about other buffs but those two are needed. the only reason midslinger is not a complete downgrade of huntress is because he can displace survivors and reload quickly on the spot which makes him theoretically very good at defending a zone. however when it comes down to the gameplay, his numbers are just too low. before ads got nerfed he was good because it was impossible to loop. now he's not very good at antiloop nor at anything else. he can be fine but only in some open and small maps with good generator rng. in comparison, trickster can become a great camper with almost any hook (especially in the middle of a 3 gen) and huntress can do everything better.

  • midslinger needed the buff not huntress

  • you cant stop killers from being good at defending zones

huntress is one of the best at defending 3 gens if the set up is an open area with a hill to look at all 3 gens

i dont think she was designed for that instance

Definitely not because of that chapter.

Definitely because I got a PC for Helldivers lol

i mean this in good faith, i hope you have a nasa supercomputer because by god the devs thought making a sequel on a discontinued game engine is a good idea

  • players didnt invent this meta, the devs did. dbd cannot be a slow game as long as killers like blight exist. you'd need to add more content and objectives into the game but also more health to balance it out. nerfing the higher tier and faster killers would just make the game boring and piss off lots of players see hillbilly's nerf.

  • well i think it's because most people play to win which means playing the meta. dbd is way too shallow to have fun while playing the meta every match. yes dbd is a very basic hide and seek game at its core, only some killers can elevate the gameplay but up to a point, and the killers that break the rhythm (spirit, nurse) are cancelled, so it's just how it is. the older tryhards get bored and move on to their next competitive multiplayer and the stream of new or average casual hop on tonight players keep the train going. anyways that's my theory

  • not more than 3 matches of survivor a week. maybe i'll play more regularly if the hillbilly buff delivers

  • good luck explaining to the tryhards why tunneling is now not the most viable strategy somehow with these nerfs. i mean, if there's a maximum lock of 2 stacks, and the extra can be cleared, then the onryo player is going to tunnel that survivor before they can clear the stacks. you cannot discourage tunneling by making not tunneling seem more efficient without actually rewarding it because tunneling has an inherent reward for every single killer

  • i play pretty much everyone but i think my favorite is james just bc i'm him

  • the power role to me means the side that influences the match the most. this changes dynamically. at the beginning the survivors are at their strongest and the power role. around 1-2 gens left when the killer has successfully made a 3-gen zone and is camping a survivor within that 3-gen, they become the power role especially with higher tier killers. they force the survivors to break through their defense. at the end-game when all generators are done it depends on whether the survivors want to leave or rescue anybody still hooked. it's not a matter of which side has the strongest win-rate. that information is related to the topic but hard to make good conclusions of due to the nature of statistics in this game.

  • her power isnt chase oriented. most players prefer powers that are usable in chase from the start e.g. wesker, huntress

  • "true colors"

the sad fact is that your favorite content creator had to get mad about the devs before you got mad even though they've been like this since a long long long time. this is not the only AMA in which they give non-answers. in fact start from the first AMAs recorded with mathieu cote and not queen. there were far more lies and non-answers back then, just your fav content creators didnt comment on it too much. i remember one of the prominent excuses being "it's a small indie company" but not anymore for sure.

  • name any killer "rework" except the doc's and there's ur answer but mainly hillbilly and legion. that was the good old days when survs would DC as soon as they saw the deep wound and the game was actually dying due to one single killer

  • oni wesker executioner and prenerf hillbilly

  • the biggest buff hillbilly can get is reverting to old animations

  • they s houldn't have reworked him into a p2w braindead generic killer and then naturally nerfed him to the ground few months later. his old power was terrible but it was very unique and could be buffed in other ways

  • fixing something that isnt broken is what's unique about bhvr

1 2 3 4 … 6
