Nerf the ghoul into the ground or give him the Chucky treatment. How come chucky lost his ability to go under pallets but the ghouls get too. Nerf this abomination. Its not fun and boring.
Nerfing characters into the ground is terrible game design. I hate the Ghoul as much as you do, but I think it would benefit the game overall if he was just balanced properly instead of made another useless killer.

Made a quick video explanation, hopefully this gives everyone a better understanding of what I mean.
The thumbnail is a shitpost, don't get too angry please :(

supernatural strength and pain tolerance the entity gives them? like to a massive degree
also ds is you picking up a sharp object like glass or a sharp rock and stabbing the killer so you are going "sicko mode" in that instance
Didn't think of that lol. You say they have super duper pain tolerance, but what about decisive strike? It's a small blade that stabs just between the neck and the shoulder. You'd think the entity would give them like supernatural godzilla skin. If a small blade like that can penetrate their skin why should teeth not be able to? Given enough strength, you could theoretically bite into their skin if the decisive strike is lore accurate.
A human can bite their own finger off like its a carrot. But our pain receptors and our brains prevent us from doing so. That should give you an idea of how epic our teeth are.

as a person who loves the piano kaneki's theme is a banger
Compared to all the other killer themes, Ghoul's theme is so mid. I also just hate the anime music, I think it doesn't fit in DBD at all. If you listened to all the other killer themes, they all share the similar tone. But this is straight up just anime music, it doesn't tap into DBD's tone at all.

We asked for custom lobbies for years. There are many lobby themes, that people liked A LOT.
Some examples are:
- og halloween event
- All kill chapter
My personal favourite is still the Sadako rising - lobby theme. Felt so other worldly.
Sadly they already stated that they do not intend to make us customize our lobbies. Sorry to disappoint.
BHVR doesn't like giving us good content.

Just lower the menu music down to 0 in settings if you don't want to listen to it that much. Also are you mad at it because you just don't like it or because it's anime?
That's not the point I'm making. I love the original menu music and I'm saying BHVR should make the DLC lobby's an optional setting that players can either enable or disable so everyone isn't forced to listen to it. I hate the current DLC's lobby because it just sounds so mediocre. It doesn't fit DBD's aesthetic or atmosphere at all. Claiming that it's just because of anime is stupid. The truth of the matter is that anime does not fit in DBD and never had. This is not an anime game, this is a slasher horror game. Slashers do not come from anime.

I decided to re-create the situation.
I had to substitute Nurse for playing Survivor, since I have no friends who play this game. IIRC, Nurse moves at the same speed as survivor.
I used a stop watch. It took 15 seconds for me to reach the main building from the point where the survivor blocked me on the wrong side of the pallet.
It took 4.5 seconds for me to clear the same distance as the Ghoul. Which means I had plenty of time to finish the enrage animation and break the pallet and still grapple on top of them and cancel power to M1.
That is insane.

It's gonna return eventually.
The lobby usually changes to fit the current chapter / event.
BHVR should make this an optional setting so not all players are forced to listen to the new music. And yeah I know about the lobby changes for new DLCs. But I still just find it annoying now, I used to think it was fine because the music for the DLCs weren't that bad. But I absolutely despise the anime music, I think it ruins the whole DBD aesthetic completely.

Sounds like you had your mind made up from the get go.
I made up my mind when I faced like 30 Ghouls in 1 day and realized that it's a broken mess that makes playing Survivor the most unenjoyable experience I've ever had on this game.

Thats a problem too. When you play a different killer then you get salty survivors with pent up salt.
When the Ghouls stopped showing up for a short amount of time, I was praising these killers even if their skill level was bad or if I died. I was just cherishing the moments I could spend without dealing with a broken killer.

Tokyo Ghoul chapter is a huge mistake. I knew he was busted the moment someone streamed a PTB match with him. I just feel like this chapter is nothing but a cash grab to lure in weebs and made this killer almost as strong as The Nurse.
Literately facts. I was talking to someone saying how adding this weeb slop is just sort of cringe tbh. Sure Tokyo Ghoul is a "horror" anime series, but not in the same scope as a game like Dead By Daylight. DBD is not anime horror. It's slasher horror and it should stay that way.

Can't play for a whole day because I disconnected out of a fit of frustration. I really wonder when BHVR's gonna fix this dog ######### killer.

Win/Loss factor: I'd say it's been a good, well-rounded experience. Playing both as and against him, I've had outcomes ranging from 4k's at 5 gens to 2 hooks by the endgame. I've looped and been looped, stomped and been stomped. It's been a diverse range of matches with nothing skewing the idea of him being overtuned in one area or another.
Fun factor: I enjoyed playing as and against him very much. The only times he felt truly oppressive as survivor was on really bad map spawns (I'm talking the kind where you get like 7 pallets total) so the second he breaks the one you're at you're basically cooked; when I was actually at a loop his power ranged anywhere from "Complex movements where you as a survivor are constantly engaged and making reads on his positioning" to "M1 killer." On the other side, the worst and most unfun matches I had playing as him were in cases where the opposite was true, where even with every anti-W tool at my disposal the pallets were so tightly-packed that I was pretty much helpless against people who wanted to predrop and then run to another pallet. For these reasons I feel pretty confident in asserting his best maps are ones like Pale Rose or Rotten Fields where the RNG might just forget to spawn pallets literally anywhere, and his singular worst map is by far Gideon's.
Overall I think he's a fantastic addition to the game. I think he could stand to get a few small upwards and downwards adjustments, but in terms of being fresh off the PTB this is probably their best release ever in my opinion.
Maybe you're just having better luck than the rest of us. Wish I could have had a fun experience playing against him but I didn't.

I am unironically having more fun against any other killer, even if they're tunneling and camping, than playing any match against the Ghoul.
Agreed. I had so much luck tonight, only encountered 1 Ghoul. I had Plague, Huntress, Legion, and Gunslinger. Died once with a smile on my face.
But when I encountered the Ghoul, I just disconnected and now I'm in bed.
-
Can't play the game for an hour because I disconnected too much. Love getting immediately knocked by the killer for having a hex perk, on top of the killer being the most overpowered thing in the entire game.

I never want to see hit scan ability again like this again, unless we are going to also give Pig auto-target/auto-lock Ambush and other killers it too. It just doesn't work with an asymm horror imo. This is not a team-shooter/fps environment. I don't think DBD when playing this killer, I think either Marvel Rivals or some Shonen Jump based action/shooter game released by Bandai Namco. That's where i'd expect to see it, not in DBD.
The thing with this is Killer mains are taking advantage of this and that's why every killer is the Ghoul. They're straight mining bloodpoints because this killer is the biggest piece of dog slop I've ever seen in DBD. I've had issues with new updates before, but I swear I've never seen it this horrible before. This is not even enjoyable to play as survivor.
The only way I'm able to grind bloodpoints is by unhooking my mates. This killer is single handedly the greatest threat to global security. If this killer existed in real life, we would all be doomed.

People want to be mad and be demanding and do it right now
We aren't demanding to do it right this moment. We are sharing our complaints. That's how this works so that the devs can improve the game lol.

If I recall the Live stream correctly - its automatic aim/lock on. There was mention of there will be a red indicator for survivor to see where hes going to lunge to but personally there is zero room for reaction time before he's already there and biting you.
Oh okay! And yeah there is ZERO REACTION TIME. Like bro what is this.
-
Been playing all day again. ALL GHOULS. EVERY GAME. Except for a Wesker, bless his heart.
Can someone explain to me how the Ghoul's targeting ability works? Sometimes it gives you a warning and an opportunity to dodge. And every other time, it aimbots and just hits you immediately. And sometimes it can hit you through map objects and walls. Like what is this actual slop? There is sometimes ZERO COUNTER to his ability.
This is actually making the game extremely unenjoyable for survivors.
-
I think it's a bit dumb for people to argue that "oh he just released, so you can't judge him yet!" about the Ghoul. I was playing all day yesterday and 80% of my matches were Ghouls. He is clearly unbalanced, he needs some balance optimization. And I think this is further backed by people saying he hasn't changed much since the beta. Nearly every round I get is just the Ghoul and the only counter that I've figured out is doing a 180 around him so he doesn't hit me.
I've recently gotten back into the game recently after taking like a year break. The game has not changed for survivors, it's still frustrating and sometimes unenjoyable. And I have a feeling there is some of that frustration and unenjoyability for Killer mains too. The developers really need to figure this out, hopefully that 2025 roadmap is the way to go.

I think he should get small nerfs, but nothing really major.
- window between his powers need to be smaller
- decrease hitbox on tentacle hit
- maybe slightly reduce movement speed after canceling his power
- fix hits though walls
Yeah exactly. I'm not asking Behaviour to nerf him to the ground, I just want him to be balanced so that I don't have the urge to disconnect every time I face a Ghoul.

I saw a three Chuckies!
And a Wraith.
3 Rize
2 Kaneki.
A Weasker
A Nemesis
Its the same as always, if the rest of the Solo folk don't do the team work. We lose.
If they do, its a 2k or a total loss for the killer.
His matches are a little harder cause new, but the same time constraints still apply to him(or her).
WHAT!? I envy you! I haven't seen a single chucky, a wraith, or a wesker. But I did have a nemesis game.
-
Unbalanced slop. Can't dodge attacks. Get hit from 10 feet away. I had to 180 the killer 3 times to get away.
-
I have an idea!
Let's make the bots do anything other than loop the entire game! That'll really let players practice without wanting to rip their hair out!
-
Tokyo Ghoul is cool. But it should have stayed off DBD in my opinion.
I really want Behaviour to bring back the classic horror aspect of the game. The game's not even a horror game anymore ;(
-
Happy to see people still play Legion. Poor guys neglected much.
-
Dwight main here.
This killer is the most unenjoyable slop I've ever gone up against. Jump attack? Yeah, it'll hit you from 10 feet away from the actual killer. Target attack? It'll hit you even if the killer misses. Thinking of running away? Good luck.
The only thing that actually saved me was doing that 'spinning around the killer' trick. I don't remember what that's called, but it saved me like 3 times.
I rate this killer 1/5. Needs to be balanced asap because every round I'm facing the Ghoul and it's making this game very frustrating and unplayable.
-
Just wait until Behaviour nerfs the killer. Lots of people are complaining about it being unbalanced. And frankly, it is very unbalanced.
-
Hey there,
I completely agree with you. I'm a survivor, Dwight main and all day today has just been Ghoul players. The Ghoul has to be, as of right now, the most unenjoyable killer to go up against as a survivor. It's incredibly unbalanced, it honestly amazes me how it released this way.
In one match, the killer used its jump ability and I was running away, and I got hit from like 10 feet away from the killer. The hit registration is completely broken. The ability is just overpowered and you just can never escape the killer. I've been playing all day today, I've won every match against any killer that wasn't the Ghoul. Every Ghoul match I've had today, our entire team lost regardless of our skill level. This killer is abysmally unbalanced, overpowered, and just so messy.
Behaviour needs to fix this ASAP. I'm not playing until this is fixed. Killer mains are taking advantage of this and are just farming bloodpoints all day because 80% of the matches I've had today were just Ghouls. I don't think I've ever been as frustrated as I was playing DBD, sure the game has its issues here and there but it never actually pissed me off. This killer managed to make me crash out and want to go downstairs, to my kitchen, and make guacamole. GUACAMOLE IS MY RAGE FOOD! >:(
