  • The traps idea is amazing!

    Changes for base kit:

    1. Same stalking progression at all distances from Tier 1-4 of Evil Within.

    2. Have 4 tiers of Evil Within and can stalk multiple survivors at once.

    3. Survivors no longer have limited Stalk amount on them and will passively generate Stalk amount to Evil Within by +1% Stalk/5 seconds upwards to 100/75/50/25% per tier of Evil Within.

    4. Tiers 2-4 can become activated at any time by the push of the Interaction button.

    5. Stalking can charge and hold tiers above current tier plus store up to Tier 4 Evil Within.

    6. Tier 1 Evil Within becomes base default again after a tiers 2-4 timer runs out.

    7. New mechanics: Victimized (A Survivor will have their aura be revealed permanently while Stalking within 40 meters.)

Disturbed (A Survivor will receive 25% faster and smaller skill checks on all conspicuous actions, and 5% Hindered Movement speed for 4 seconds after completing a conspicuous action.

Disturbed status is removed after being put into the dying state or until the timer runs out for Tier 3-4 Evil Within.),

Scarred (A Survivor becomes Mori able by any means even in lockers and suffers from the Blindness status effect.

Scarred status is removed after the timer has run out on Tier 4 Evil Within.)

Knitting Needle (5 Knitting Needles for Survivors to use around the map to be used to prevent from being Mori 'ed while Scarred.)

    8. While Myers is in Tier 1 Evil Within, Survivors being stalked can hear Myers Breathing after 3 seconds or until they become Victimized.

Tier 1: Unlimited, Gains the Undetectable Status effect, 110% MS, no reduced lunge, may teleport to Shadows near survivors you are stalking. (Shadows are dark, foreboding corners that Michael can emerge from and can be enhanced through the density of the fog in the map.

This reworks the Fog offerings to be useful or detrimental to Michael Myers.

Tier 1 allows teleporting to the Shadows up to 12 meters away from the Stalked survivor facing them. Example: The Cenobite teleporting to the Lament Configuration.) Stalking a Survivor(s) for 15 seconds becomes Victimized(Exclusive to only Tier 1 Evil Within) and no movement penalty while stalking.

Tier 2: 90 seconds, 16 meter TR, 115% MS, Normal lunge, Stalking a Survivor(s) for 20 seconds becomes Disturbed, allowing you to teleport to Shadows.

Tier 2 allows teleporting to the Shadows up to 16 meters away from the Stalked survivor facing them. -10% movement speed while stalking, and +5% faster vault speed. Charges required to reach Tier 2 is 100%.

Tier 3: 60 seconds, 32 meter TR, 115% MS, Increased lunge attack by 15%, all Survivors become exposed, allowing you to teleport to Shadows.

Tier 3 allows teleporting to the Shadows up to 24 meters away from the Stalked survivor facing them.) +10% faster vault speed, +10% faster breaking action speed, and -15% movement speed while stalking. Charges required to reach Tier 3 is 200%.

Tier 4: 30 seconds, 40 meter TR, 110% MS, Increased lunge attack by 15% all Survivors become exposed, +10% faster vault speed, +10% faster breaking action speed, +20% increase recovery from stuns/blinds, and all Survivors become Scarred. Charges required to reach Tier 4 is 400%.

    1. Tacky Earrings: Increases the movement speed of The Shape while stalking by +10%.

    2. Memorial Flower: Increases stalk rate by +10%.

    3. Boyfriend's Memo: Increases teleporting cooldown on Shadows by +10%.

    7. Hair Brush: Increases duration of Evil Within 2 by 10 seconds but earn -5% less stalk overall.

    8. Glass Fragment: Appy Mangled for 60 seconds or fully healed.

    9. Dead Rabbit: Reduces The Shape's Terror Radius by 4 meters in Evil Within 3 but increases the Terror Radius by 8 meters in Evil Within 4.

    10. Mirror Shard: Survivors who do a rushed action while being stalked are exhausted for 45 seconds.

    11. Judith's Journal: Increases the Stalk rate on the obsession by +30% but decreases Stalk rate on other survivors by -10%.

    16. Tombstone Piece: Reveals survivor auras while teleporting into Shadows while increases teleporting cooldown on Shadows by +5%.

    17. Scratch Mirror: The Shape's base movement speed is set to 4.4 m/s. The Shape is unable to progress past Evil Within 2 but increasing Evil Within 2 by 90 seconds. Grants 300% bonus bloodpoints for each hit in the Devious and Brutality category.

    18. Lock of Hair: Increases the duration of all Evil Within tiers by +25% but earn -30% less stalk per survivor.

19.Judith Tombstone: Grants unlimited duration of Evil Within 4. Requires 800% more evil to reach Tier 4.

    20. Tuff of Hair: While teleporting and exiting the Shadows, gain the Undetectable status effect for 30 seconds in all Evil Within tiers.

I draw the line at 'tacky earrings' … :D

I like this idea, but I really doub BHVR would do this. Maybe as a temporary game mode. But never hurts to ask

    Experiencing the nostalgia days xD

Btw dbd mobile looks like old dbd and has many perks outdated from now

I'm all fingers and thumbs as it is… I think my brain may fall out if I start playing mobile also :)

Def a temp modifier… this game just needs a spruce of fun… you can always laugh at past iterations !

  • If I wanted out of the game, I would be out of the game; hook, DC, AFK… whatever. So, 'punishing' wouldn't matter.

On the rare occasion I have done it, I didn't like how the killer/survivor had behaved… floor ######### thing / running around not doing anything.. the usual. That doesn't make me 'entitled', that just means I won't spend my time with morons. This issue is perfectly nuanced. It should remain as-is.

  • Get rid of remote hooks, period. The rest you mention is pretty much how most people I know feel… yest it still isn't that 'fun', they could do with something more interactive.

I'd also add, what is going on with the scoring… One survivor always has way more points without rhyme nor reason. They need to be a lot clearer about the points system, and maybe show why at the end. A screen showing the attributable factors perhaps?

For the record, that's not how her stealth works. It's not stealth inside the drones' radius anymore, it's eight seconds of stealth after deploying a drone.

I did mean that.. but yeah, get rid of that :) … I can't see any other reason why people DC?!

  • No terror radius in drones is the issue with SM. Remove that and I would bet people wouldn't DC or kill themselves on hook.

  • Delete distortion if killer can only run one aura perk at a time. Deal.

  • I didn't realise there were any faces 16m long… So whatever they say, this is an anti-camping feature, not face camping (I know what bhvr sold it as).

It should be technically possible to cover vertical on basement and not on multilevel, and they did say on release they would address it… but alas, no; 'when'.

  • @Seraphor said:

In my experience, being able to see other survivors so that you can avoid them in chase is much more useful. If I can't see other survivors, then I'm fairly likely to bring a chase to someone on a gen, and likely screw us all over when that gen inevitably gets regressed.

Don't attribute to malice what is much more likely to be incompetence. Do the survivors stitching you use actually see your aura or do they just not see where you are?

Secondly, if you've got 0 hooks and finding it easy to escape chase, you probably should be trying to intercept for survivors who are on death hook so you can keep everyone alive longer.

While it doesn't justify sandbagging another survivor, if you're on death hook and you know there's a survivor who has avoided being hooked all game, there's bound to be a bit of salt there.

Most importantly, you should probably be looking to take a hit before you get to end game. If you can take a hit or even a hook before the gens are done, then you'll be more likely to escape. If you avoid going down all game until you get to end game, then you won't have that opportunity because the killer will likely camp and tunnel anyone who gets downed once the gates are powered.

    I can make this easy…

I was the one mainly doing gens. I did take protection hits and unhook and heal… there is literally only so much one can do, with also trying to do the objective.

I did make it clear, it wasn't MY play that was the issue. Every escape from chase on that game example included an injury for me.

Your reply, which is always welcomed was more 'victim blaming'. My issue is people working with killer. Just accept the fate and play properly, is that such a big ask.

Against that stuff you could at least try to lose chase so they don't get the ability to expose you... Like I said, I didn't like that one either but better than the current one.

Oh it sucked so bad without exhaustion perks lol… I just wish they would do event things that made it a bit more fun… like snowballs at Christmas

  • @GolbezGarlandGabrant said:

I mean they could apply the same logic they've applied to Buckle Up/For The People or else it's just hypocrisy if they don't.

Wasn't BU nerfed recently to counteract this?

  • Most people I play with as survivor have less of an issue with PB than RH. We are OVER RH.

But agreed, if this dopey nonsense keeps going into event, my friends and I will just play non-event.

There so many more interesting things they could do with the event than what they have done.

It is indeed really stupid, I'd prefer the bloodlust exposed thing back ^^ And I did not particularly like that either, but then again it is just a limited time event, so I dont care too much …

    No… just no lol

Well, since META is slowdown perks i think this would NOT be interesting at all. Aura perk means less slowdown. And why you dont want to use distortion since this removes all aura perks from killer?

Maybe you should read your answer again. I see 2 min aura on over 80% of killer builds. Distortion is good and bad as we know, but isn't the answer.

See that makes more sense, I didn't consider it as a single game example either until you mentioned it.

But I think what you mentioned is the answer to op then: that sometimes you just lose the game and go next.

Sometimes you can learn from mistakes and get better, but it doesn't necessarily have to be blaming the game or even focusing on losses.

When I play survivor I want fun gameplay and chases, and didn't really care if I lose that game.

    100%

I'll jump in here and say, if we change a perk it's because we feel that it needs changing - one person does not have the power over changes. We listen to feedback from all parts of the community.

Please stop blaming Otz for game changes that you don't personally like, the man is a content creator, and a very good one. He creates content and gives feedback on the game, however that doesn't mean that his feedback is listened to above everyone else - we listen and read pretty much everything.

I wonder if they could show some evidence of that. Perhaps be more open about stats from the feedback collection or related posts.

People who play regularly are quite invested in this game for a variety of reasons, perhaps showing some evidence would sit better than the ‘we are listening’ business. Would shut down a lot of unpleasant posts on this forum.

Remote hook has had very negative feedback, i don't think they will ever bring it back

Good. They should get rid of it mid event.

You didn't answer any of my questions.

    Is a 100 % win steak normal?

If it is, would that indicate a game imbalance?

If a game imbalance allows for a guaranteed win in a pvp game, is that not something people should complain about?

Does a 100% kill rate with no camping, tunneling, or slugging match your killer experience? I play very fairly and don't have near that record.

No, but I’m not sure that was their emphasis as such. I didn’t read it as 100% on all games.

Killers win most games, that’s just a fact. Perks are more favourable for killer.

I play 50/50, fairly as possible and I want other players to enjoy the game. I rarely get a DC due to my behaviour as a killer.

I probably win 70/80% 4K without any of the obnoxious gameplay, and I don’t run aura. If I do it’s a side-effect of an add-on.

It’s unimpressive that people just care more about points and being ugly towards other people with things they say/do (not suggesting you do that).

This game isn’t balanced at all and varies across maps etc for both sides.

I still don’t think this was a baiting post, just enquiry.

edit: reading again, I read it just as a single game example.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3741694#Comment_3741694

    Which part?

Are you saying that having a 100% kill streak is common and normal? As I said, if so that seems to indicate a pretty heavy imbalance somewhere. Heavy enough that it would both be obvious what that is and why people would complain about it.

Since the op is focused on 'why do survivors complain' I'm inclined to think that the reality is closer to not actually winning every game, but instead looking for a reaction... Which is bait by definition.

It’s sad/unfortunate you think it’s a ‘baiting’ post. It’s a shame people are so cynical, I thought it was perfectly legitimate.

  • It’s very sad how some people think, like the previous comment.

I try and play like you as killer also. I don’t just want to ‘win’ I want to be fair and have a decent game.

I personally think slugging/tunnelling/full aura just reflects low-skill.

People will always moan, just turn that chat off :)

  • I don't think NTH is that strong, once you identify it first time, and it was nerfed a minute ago.

But the main point was to just have a short play style that would be interesting…

I don't really use aura as killer, I find it lazy and unfun (unless it's SM Myers). I much prefer the thrill of the hunt, as it were.

  • @Archael said:

    I'm talking about a temporary modifier…

The point of those is experimenting with outcome and something a little different. One player with distortion is not what I am talking about.

It would be a completely different skill requirement from both sides.

  • A good comment, thank you. Personally, I played a few with him yesterday and felt it was completely unbalanced, and majorly in my favour. Four perks and magic seems completely over the top. Just my opinion :)

And yes, I crouch, is it too much for you not to be so unpleasant?

    Yes

Well that's not what I meant, I was talking about the chest offering.

Items against mage hand and orb are really strong. Not talking about 20 roll, those are super annoying on some maps.

IF you can get those items, plus the mage hand/haste is the only really useful asset. the others are all pointless or gimmicks.

And as for the other 'yes', well, like most of the unpleasant people on this forum I guess.

  • Seems to be a general bug with DS

  • Chucky, pig, knight, cannibal… to name but a few. Like anything, you can't apply all theories to all people.

  • @VomitMommy said:

The survivor counters aren't that good.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

Well, we kind of already had that with the Lights Out modifier. I think that's been my favorite modifier we've had so far.

So I'd be happy with the return of the Lights Out, or just a "loadout-less modifier."

I get what you mean, but I would like to force the use of non-exhaustion and aura… there's plenty of interesting perks left, be a good method to see how they respond.

My only issue with lights out was the proxy camping was outrageous, otherwise fun :)

When a new killer comes out you will see more of them so it's not that its more with that killer there are just more opportunities for it to occur

I have seen all new killers for the last 5 years. I have never seen it this bad.

Yes. How? I can't think of a solution. Can you? You're just trotting out these tired, blase complaints with no potential solution or ideas.

I am observing an opinion. You can agree or disagree, or ignore. This is a feedback forum after all. move along.

  • Well, then, I expect; progress.

  • I doubt it is 'me' specifically, but you can be personal and unfortunate should you feel the need to.

  • You can be obnoxious if you like, but that counters ONE magic. Perhaps your comments would be better served being less base.

Vecna is new and Vecna's pickrate is going to be much higher this week. You're just falling in with confirmation bias.

Well, you know what they say about opinions…. everyone is allowed to have one. You don't have to agree, but feel free not to patronise.

  • @TheTom20 said:

Another Survivor spotted who is stuck thinking that "If I just drop a pallette I win this chase" and then go surprise pikachu faced when Vecna lifts it back up.

Which survivor is that? It's hardly a surprise when it picks up, that's it's most overused magic lol. Dare I say lazily predictable.

  • Actually, I can't think of another killer I hate… maybe singularity.. that's very annoying.
