I’m so fed up of having a team that are just….terrible. Don’t do generators or if they do they’re missing skill checks everytime, are trying to get you to heal them while they’re being chased which goes in hand with running straight to you when they’re being chased, drop every pallet they come into contact with, don’t unhook you or if they do they attempt to heal you underneath the hook while the killer is on them, the list goes on…😂
Maybe this is all to do with soloq. I just don’t want to carry the entire team every game! I’ve just had 8 games in a row where I did every single gen while every other survivor died after I healed them repeatedly, and it’s tiresome. 🥹
I play both survivor and killer and with all the complaints about tunnelling and face camping - I feel like majority of survivors just ask for it sometimes ngl!
I'm with you!

First of all, I don't need to offer any "viable solutions" before complaining about a broken MMR system if that is my prerogative.
"You seem like the kind of person who can't play a game unless they win all time." -- If that's what you've convinced yourself to believe within the breadth of one forum post that has zero relevance to what you're insinuating, be my guest.

Solo is for those who prefer a challenge. It's not impossible, you just need to play smarter. And yeah, teams can fall apart fast. But that was the point of the game in the first place. If you want a game to hold your hand and have your team make bad saves than you do you.
Oh, stop. You know very well what I am talking about. If you want to remain oblivious to the obvious problems with this game, then YOU do you.

I looked at the 'looking for friends' posts for DBD on xbox today. It made solo queue look appealing. People are requesting that other players have at least 10 hours of dbd gameplay under their belts and half of them are ages 10-14.

Matches might be pairing people up with newer Survivors as the Survivor base has taken quite the hit going from always being the over populated side of the game by quite a margin to straight up being the underpopulated one. I think a lot of people who play solo are getting paired with newer (or really bad) Survivors to help fill matches for Killers making extremely lopsided matches in a current era where certain Killers are straight up busted and camping/tunneling is rampant. This also will tilt the solos and make them more likely to KOBE or DC adding to the problematic matches.
AKA Survivor side sucks atm.
Exactly, honestly playing Killer feels so much better right now.

I really wish there was some kind of matchmaking/MMR floor so that it wouldn't grab a 3k hour player and put them in a lobby with three <50 hour players and a <100 hour killer. It doesn't matter if they had a string of bad matches; there is no way that 3k player ever belongs there. Newbies should not be playing with or against players with hundreds of times more experience than them.
And yet this constantly happens to me. I'm almost grateful for lobby prestiges despite it being a horrible and abusable feature, because at least I know when to dodge a completely brand new lobby. And the newbie matches are always busts - your teammates rarely do anything useful, frequently sandbag or hide the entire game, and go down like dominoes.
Exactly. I started playing as Spirit and I am having an enormous amount of fun. I'm not toxic in any way, I try to play fair as possible too. It is way more fun than survivor at the moment. Something needs to be done to buff SoloQ. This game is now a choice between SWF or die.

The only issue with the full reset instead of the pause is that you can have permahiding survivors crawl up to a gen, tap it for a fraction of a second, and then go back to a locker. I've already seen survivors do this to avoid crows, and they can do this several times before the gen even gives the barest "I've been worked on" sound.
Maybe have conspicuous actions wind the timer backwards instead of resetting it entirely? And 5 minutes does sound fairer than 2.
I personally like this, as I despise survivors that do nothing. But it would add another level of stress to the game that I think survivors just wouldn't go for. Having an inactivity timer to worry about on top of worrying about completing gens/unhooking teammates, on top of avoiding being killed, and finally on top of time-based killers like Pig and Freddy would be like basekit pressure for killers.
-
@SuzuKR said:
The AFK Crow mechanic is reworked to the following:
- Each survivor has a personal 2 minute timer that decays while not downed or hooked.
- While in chase, running, doing a Conspicuous Action, or receiving a Conspicuous Action (eg, being healed), the timer is paused.
- If the killer is in 8m and not in chase, the timer decays at 50% speed. (For hiding for brief periods of time when killer comes nearby, but not allowing hiding forever)
- Recovering from the downed state or being unhooked restarts the timer.
- If the timer fully decays, AFK Crows spawn and will not go away until chase starts OR 14 consecutive seconds of running or doing/receiving a Conspicuous Action happens. Eg, snuffing a totem.
- This mechanic is disabled when only one survivor is alive.
There is no excuse to spend 2 full minutes crouching/idling/walking and doing literally nothing to progress any objective or Conspicuous Action when it pauses on doing anything meaningful and resets on pickup and unhook. If you are actually playing, you will never have to worry about this ever being triggered on you.
My only concern is that despite your intentions, it may still have the unintended effect of giving the location away of survivors that are playing fairly. The timer shouldn't be paused whenever they perform a Conspicuous Action, it should be stopped completely and reset after they are completing an action (repairing gens, cleansing totems, healing, unhooking, etc). I believe it should be bumped to 3-5 minutes to protect survivors and the consistency of this proposed system. If you aren't doing anything but crouching/walking around after 5 minutes of game time, I believe that is sufficient enough.

They're not talking about 10s basekit BT, they're talking about 20s actual BT. 10s, and the old 12s, were easier to wait out than 20s plus a speed boost.
Ah, very true. I can definitely see why this would be a threat, especially with well-coordinated SWFs.

I have! Reassurance is pretty cool. It can be used for smart play. I had a Leon who used it on me so he could finish working on a Gen nearby. I was concerned at first, but praised him mentally when he finished it and got me off the hook.

Think about it like this:
You're playing an instadown killer like myers and a survivor unhooks somebody near you. As you go to punish them for their misplay, the person they unhooked is constantly bodyblocking you with OTR. You either hit them and eat the endurance which gives the healthy survivor more than enough time to make distance
Or you try to get past them which often doesn't work because bodyblocking killers isn't that hard.
It's not a bad play on the survivor end to do this, but it isn't quite fair because you're trying NOT to tunnel, but they are forcing you to.
I can confirm that this doesn't stop them tunneling. There's nothing to worry about here. I unhooked a survivor while injured, the killer doubled back and the unhooked teammate used their entire 10s endurance to bodyblock the killer from chasing after me. I went down. End of story.

Unless they are noobs or you are faking the video. As soon as one hides on a closet or they spread (or start separate on the map) that´s already much more time.
So yeah, do it live, against me. Which I am a terrible Survivor btw, and see how it goes.

I never said that Nurse is or isn't the best killer in the game. I never said that she was easy to play with and stop survivors nor did I say she is difficult. I openly admitted that I am bad at killer and would like for Omans to provide me with footage of him playing as her, showing how easy it is to win as Nurse so I could see how he does it, since, as I said, I am bad at killer.
They deflected and refused to provide me with footage. The onus isn't on me to provide any kind of evidence because I didn't claim anything about Nurse. I stayed silent on the matter, therefore, I am not required to provide any kind of evidence for any stance about the Nurse.
It's a really simple request. Show me how easy it is to continually stomp survivors so I could learn. That was it. I don't want to go pick her up and wait in killer queue only to get embarrassed during a match and then insulted in chat after a match because I was lead to believe that I'd easily be able to win and didn't. I want to watch Omans (or your) footage so you can show me how it's done and I can be prepared.
Your word salad and deflection skills are even greater than the person you accused them of. *You want proof that Nurse can grant you easy kills, but you're not concerned about proof where she might not*. That is a clear implication that you are indeed biased and you have taken a stance. You can continue to maintain this oblivious façade, but it's pointless. At the end of the day she has been reined back in with this new patch. You're welcome to try her out now if you'd like.

- Devs have never ever stated she is a problem so far in her roughly 5-6 years of existence after her rework, nor that she needs or is slated to receive a change to address any such supposed problem.
- The only allusion to her ever was a single crap perk getting nerfed (range and linger) for some reason (which the range nerf was rightfully reverted anyways before live patch).
- Devs have buffed 17 different perks that post-buff became good, insane, or even better than they already were despite already being super good on Nurse. Never once has she been stated to be an issue during these.
- Devs have released 40 different perks that are okay, great, or insane on her. Never once has she been stated to be an issue during these.
- McLean when asked on stream about how often Nurse comes up in discussion when it came to devs working on perks answered that Nurse came up more often than expected, but that the devs never held off on an idea cause of her.
How is this relevant to what I've said? It's not at all. Nurse is still the best killer in the game, this is an undisputed fact. We don't need to the devs to declare something's a problem if there's a problem. That's why we have PTB. We are the ones who detect the problems, report them and the devs readjust the game at a level comfortable for both sides. That is what we are doing, and that is what we will continue to do. But according to SuzuKR, the only way we'll know something is a problem in-game is if the devs announce it (which is how no game works at all).

I wasn't the one making the claim that she isn't. I was requesting for them to provide footage to show me how easy it is because I'm bad at killer and would like to easily win matches like they claim they can with Nurse.
In fact, I didn't make a claim for whether she is easy or difficult, so I have no reason to provide evidence.
"Seems like you’re just deflecting and don’t actually have any evidence that it’s easy for Nurse to win games."
"So you won’t provide evidence that she’s easy is what you’re saying? So then why should I believe your claim that she’s easy?
If you claim something, want the devs to do something about it, you should be able to provide evidence for your reasoning. Otherwise it just looks like you’re whining."
Play innocent if you'd like, but it's clear what stance you're taking. As I said, provide evidence that Nurse doesn't make for easy wins (you can't, because everyone knows Nurse is the best killer in the game) or not.
-
I disagree, quite the opposite. His hitbox is just fine (the survivor in me is saying a little too fine, haha). From the few matches I've played, Wesker killers nearly always land successful hits when I am fast vaulting without Resilience. His M1 attack also appears sufficient, doesn't feel like an overreach. Perhaps you just need more practice with him.

Then you should be providing evidence that she isn't as well. But you can't. So where do we go now? When the new stats come out I guarantee you Nurse will be somewhere towards the top, which is in stark contrast with her stats from before 6.1.0.

It's depressing that it's apparently a difficult concept to grasp that if you don't want to face a part of the game, you shouldn't queue up in the first place. If you have a problem, take it up with devs, don't take out your immaturity on the other players.
DCing over a part of the game you literally decided of your own volition to queue up for is beyond utterly pathetic and immature.
What's more immature is your inability to accept people not wanting to play a game with you for their own reasons.

Who's wanting to farm MMR? Hardly anyone cares about that. Also it's just Nurse that "farms" bp? I'm sure most killers in some way can "farm" bp. Yes Nurse is strong just like she's mainly been since 2017 and then if she gets nerfed everybody is more then likely gonna switch to Blight.
When I said farm MMR, I meant it as an exemplum for getting 3-4ks almost every match. And who said it was only Nurse? I never said that. How is it that in anyway relevant to what I said? I said I would rather not play against a Thanastruck Nurse that is only going to farm BPs off of us if we continue to play the match, while we will receive next to nothing.

My teammates usually disconnect because they got downed and that's illegal. With Nurse (and Legion), the criteria just gets upgraded to 'the killer exists.' And how am I responsible for anything my teammates are doing?
I have no love for Nurse and she's a major problem, but let's not pretend that randoms disconnecting is a killer issue. It really isn't at this point, and it's sure as hell not justified. I play like a saint as killer and I get loads of survivor DCs before they even have the chance to discern whether or not I'm playing scummy.
My post was complaining about someone who said "nah, ######### my teammates, I don't care about them, I won't play vs Nurse." If you think that's unfair of me, say so. I'm not defending Nurse.
Respectfully, we are not talking about other killers. I am specifically talking about survivors d/cing against a Nurse. So you recognize Nurse is a major problem, but refuse to accept players just not wanting to bother with her. I personally don't care whether a player disconnects if the killer was toxic or cheap. This is literally the current state of Nurse, though. She has ridiculous range add-ons that allow her to teleport halfway across the map, back and forth with hardly any downtime and coupled with Thana and Starstruck? No. Just no. Props to you for being honorable.

Not really. If you did you'd understand what happens when you dominate 9 out of 10 games (which doesn't happen with most players anyway). Also, all the RNG and other factors are mentioned although lumped in as generic reasons in the third paragraph and I specifically called out range extensions and blink attacks interacting with Exposed effects in the last paragraph.
If you understood DBD's MMR, then you'd know it isn't perfect and often matches people with different rates with each other. It is entirely possible to win 9 out of 10 games and still matchmake with low-skilled or mid survivors. Your last paragraph was nonsensical. You call out people for complaining about the lack of counterplay against Nurse, when those very same complaints are directed towards the unfair range add-ons and Exposed effect perks she possesses. Then in the same sentence, you say it is fortunate that they are being removed tomorrow. So let's get this straight. You recognize the validity of these complaints, but also want players to stop complaining about said obvious problem.

My unpopular opinion is that Resilience needs a buff, perhaps to 10-15%. This perk would be PERFECT for SoloQ more than I'd argue it already is. Especially with Superior Anatomy coming, Resilience would clutch entire matches. Being in an injured state assures that there is always some risk to having such a huge increase.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
My unpopular opinion
I hate Nurse complaint threads and also when people don't understand how MMR works.
MMR, when it works, should place you against other people at your MMR. If, and I'll use Nurse since she's the complaint d'joure, you are up against a Nurse that beats you there are a few possibilities:
(1) The Nurse is in your MMR but, for some reason that may or may not be your fault, you lost. If the Nurse is in your MMR then that Nurse is being beaten by other survivors at your MMR but, for whatever reason you lost. Maybe you're just not that good at versing Nurse but you're good enough at versing Huntress, as an example, you're at that MMR.
(2) MMR is not working that day and you got placed against a much better Killer than you are a Survivor. In that case, if you don't lose, something is broken in Survivor design.
(3) You met a Nurse that MMR is still placing accurately. Maybe they look like a level one Nurse but this is their second account and they played for thousands of hours on their first account. They'll be out of your MMR soon enough; or
(4) The Nurse is smurfing.
If you're complaining on the forums about Nurse and you say you met a god tier Nurse that's very unlikely unless you are a god tier survivor. Unless, of course, MMR is not working or the Nurse is smurfing.
We don't know the kill stats. Nurse might be balanced at high level. Or she might not be. I don't know and neither do the nerf Nurse thread authors. I do well against the Nurses I face but I'm not a god tier survivor and I'm not facing god tier Nurses. And, as BHVR has stated there is only a very small number of people at high MMR, most people reading this won't be god tier either.
Nurse doesn't stomp at low level, is a toss-up at mid level and is one of two Killers that seem to stand a chance at high level. Most of her supposed invincibility comes from survivors who have bought into that myth sabotaging their team and either DCing or dying on hook. I die more to Blight than to Nurse but that's probably because I understand Nurse's mechanics better than Blight's mechanics.
Can people get back to complaining about NOED please? At least those threads were more entertaining. Or, at least, when posting about Nurse post about something that makes sense such as the extra speed from distance add ons that fortunately gets removed tomorrow or even interaction with Exposed effects, instead of just the 'There's no counterplay!!!' threads ad nauseam.
My goodness. Your entire response was the equivalent of washing your hands dry after sticking them in the mud. There was absolutely no nuance here. You did not take into the account the type of map, the type of perks being used, the skill level of the killer and the survivors. All of these factors are incredibly influential on how the match will play out. 9 times out of 10, a competent Nurse will dominate regardless of any of these. She needs to be nerfed, either in the form of making blinks special attacks or her range add-ons. Period.

Why would a nurse want to "farm MMR" when killers don't really want high MMR? it just leads to more matches where they would be forced to play nurse vs the growing amount of sweat.
I'm gonna be honest, from what you've said and how unapologetic you are about giving up, I don't think you're going to get matched with many good nurses. MMR itself is basically protecting you from them.
A good Nurse's MMR will rise from their kills. It's common sense. They will inevitably play against better survivors, and they will still dominate. Sorry to disappoint you, but I come across legacy Nurses as well as competent Nurses all the time. I very rarely come across a Nurse that doesn't know how to use her blinks effectively, and when I do it's very obvious.

Hey everyone,
I already posted this in another discussion but it got lost among other answers and I would really like to have a constructive discussion about this changes I thought about.
So here are my suggestions and to be clear I do not think they should all stack together.
I think on one side, camping should punish the killer:
- By making the rate at which the survivor goes to stage 1 to stage 2 slower depending on how close the killer is from the hook. Some sort of base-kit reassurance.
- Face camping in a 6 meters area could even be punished by providing a mini kindred to the survivors as a base-kit, showing the killer in around a 5 meters area.
- It could also blind the killer from all aura reading perks or add-ons after a few seconds standing near the hook.
- Grabing a survivor while unhooking another should not cause the survivor to be in the dying state when dropped after so the killer is not able to slug and face camp. When dropped, they would fall on the ground and get up directly but injured while they have an endurance effect and/or a haste effect that apply to them for a few seconds. This way the killer is forced to hook this survivor or to let the survivor go.
- Losing BPs after a certain amount of time spent near the hook (as you lose points for the chaser emblem after 10 seconds) and having a big minus of BPs when near the hook when the hook stage changes and this amount of BP lost would go up for each hook stage switch while you are face camping the survivor.
On the other side, survivors should be somehow rewarded in BPs or/and have more ways to counter it or inform others about it:
- On the first hook stage, as the game love so much skill checks, you could actually have a classic skill check with a great skill check area that would reveal the killer in a more or less 10 meters area around the hook each time you hit a great skill check for around 3 seconds that survivors outside of 30 meters of the hook could see.
- Chances of unhooking yourself should augment overtime if the killer is nearby allowing for example at the very last seconds of stage 1 a 30% unhook chance and then a buffed endurance of around 8 seconds if so.
- A screaming sound of terror could be also added when the killer is close to the hook that every other survivor could listen in all the map, so they know they have to go together for the unhook or decide to work on gen instead. This could only activate and be used by the survivor on hook for each 8 seconds where the killer stayed in a 10 meters area around the hook (going in and out of the area would stop and start the timer again). It could also altered the killer vision or audio or even cancel the possibility to grab the survivor unhooking you when timed correctly.
- Gaining BPs and survival points for each second spent with your lovely face camping killer in order to at least compensate the non fun of the situation and the risk of losing a pip.
What do you think about these suggestions? Of course they should probably not be applied all at once, it is more ideas here and there.
I happen to really like these ideas. It would also give survivors incentive to stay in the game instead of suiciding. They seem to really discourage camping, even if somebody feels like trolling. The killer would gain literally nothing. It's the price they would pay for choosing to ruin another's fun. However, I do see some points that can be abused by SWF teams.

Do you have proof to back up your claims? Nurse is just fine, and equally good players will do fine versus her. Range/3 blink addons need a rework but everything else is a non-issue.
And do you have any proof to back up your claims? And don't try bringing up her low kill rate, that was before all killers got buffed.
"Equally good players will do fine versus her". Said no one ever. At least we can agree on her range add-ons and blinks needing a rework. I believe that would be key to making her bearable to face against.

You say "I play solo queue" as an excuse for why you can't handle Nurse, and then cop to being a good chunk of why solo queue feels so bad to play. That's a bit circular.
"I don't have to face these people so I don't care what happens to them" ain't exactly the building blocks of a house you want to live in. I can't force you to play the game, but I will say you have no right to get upset when any of your teammates ragequit in the games where you thought everything was going fine and dandy and wanted to play out.
I don't know about you, but I laugh whenever my teammates disconnect. Usually they disconnect because the killer is playing cheap or toxic, and I've most likely acquired enough BPs to die on hook if it comes to that. I accept the consequences of my actions.
"Can't handle nurse" is a bit too extreme. Everyone here knows Nurse is the best killer in the game, and a great Nurse is nearly impossible to win against in soloQ if you are not a 4-SWF. Don't be willfully obtuse.

I am not facing any competent Nurse (especially not with Thana, Starstruck etc) and giving them free and easy BPs for pointless chases that will end in less than a minute. Then, we finish the match only to receive 10-15k while the killer has 26-30k when the match was only *5-7 minutes*. I would rather suicide on the hook and die the first time I go down, or disconnect. :)

This is a short-sighted, pointless suggestion where there is no mutual benefit to be gained. It merely helps the killer. That's it.

I play solo queue. Why would I suffer through a game against a Nurse.
"You're ruining the game for your teammates." I do not know those ppl.
This is me af. 🤣

Pain Res got reverted though. Before the nerfs to those favourite perks, killers still tunneled. Killers claimed they had no choice but to tunnel because of gen speeds.
The devs increased gen times because of this claim, and nerfed regression perks because it would be rather unfair to only increase gen times. Then killers moved the goal posts and said it's because their regression perks got nerfed.
Killers are constantly harping on about how survivors need to adapt, but don't want to do so themselves, and are surprised when survivors actually do adapt. (Insert surprised pikachu face)
This right here. +1

You started this war, plunged Skyrim into chaos! Now the Empire is going to put you down!
+1 for humor. This is how everyone should have responded. 😎

Killers can let you bleed out on the ground for legitimately no reason other than they already killed everyone else, they can hold you hostage by doing the "pick you up and drop you, then down you over and over again" thing, they can pretend to give you hatch or door then kill you anyway, ect.
Survivors can... click their flashlight? Or press the crouch button very fast? (or hide in basement for over an hour and make me want to claw my eyes out). Maybe the worst thing is bringing a very strong map offering, but they are at least engaging in normal gameplay.
As for end game chat, both sides are full of insane people. It's the internet, what the hell were you expecting?
I wasn't expecting anything. It was just a simple rant. It's not this deep. Do not join the circus of people replying to this that have made this into an unnecessary debate.

The role doesn't matter here. Simply put, if someone wants to be a ****, they will be a ****. I've seen alarming toxicity from both sides in situations where none of it was deserved or spurred on at all. It's a problem every game has but it can feel particularly common in DBD if you keep getting matched with the same kind of people. That's just the luck of the draw.
I had a survivor one time block the exit switch so I couldn't leave because they thought I sandbagged them at the very beginning of the game where we ran in the same direction away from the killer. And the resulting chase didn't even get them hooked. I was beyond baffled and honestly a bit frustrated. But it's not like I could argue my side or get them to apologise. So believe me you're not the only one who's had their teammates screw you over for no reason at all.
They do it because they know they can get away with it and enjoy upsetting people. That's the nature of the internet unfortunately and games as well. As long as you know you didn't do anything wrong you can just move on from it. And even if you did deserve it, it's only one game at the end of the day. You'll forget about it in no time.
Wholesome reply. Thank you! It's one of the reasons I decided to post here. It feels good to know that at least I'm not alone.

Clearly you are wrong. If you're going to insult somebody, at least have a reason for doing so.

i once had a game with a 3-swf. i found a key in a chest, and did a gen to about 40%. Then the killer found me, and i run him for 4 gens.
then i was downed, and hooked. That was before the hatch-rework, and the 3 came to my hook (the killer had left and was not camping at all) and teabagged me, until i died on the hook. then they took my key and left.
Afterwards they told me, it was because i was just a bad player who didnt work on gens, despite me running the killer for most of the game...
Thtats about the most toxic thing i experienced, but sandbagging and others happen more often than you think if you are with an swf you are not a part of.
(however, just to balance that: i also had a game with a 3-swf where the killer found me first and tunneled me very hard. i thought i woulndt get out there, but the team did really everything (including sacrificing themself) to get me out. they decided to save the random person at any cost, and then this tunnel guy happened).
Also, i sandbagged my teammates too on accident by blocking them when i just wanted to help them. happens.
That sounds so frustrating and horrible. Yeah, I never get mad if somebody is genuinely trying to help me but ends up getting in the way. Perhaps a little vexed, but not enough for me to be actually upset.

This kinds of posts just make no sense tbh.
There's no correlation with playing survivor = being more toxic. None at all. It's just player bias.
I'm not actually attempting to speak from everyone, this is just an example from my own personal experience. People are free to believe whatever they want. I do tend to come across some extremely toxic players from both sides, yes. Just a cliché rant
