Tired of cancer matches, doesnt matter if i go survivor or killer, always the same, so i just dont play or queue afk as killer (to get rift points while playing other games), and if i end banned is a win win for me, no more temptation to lose time on this game

Yes, those things suck. But removing the DC penalty results in a situation where someone DCs the second they decide they don't like the killer you are playing, get downed early etc. When the penalty is off, this game is even more miserable.

If you DC occasionally, but play most of your matches out you'll never get a penalty. I never have - not once. If the majority of your games are this unpleasant, then I'm not sure how you can also say 'I enjoy this game'.

If the enemy team is stalling the game out/taking it hostage, just alt+Tab and get a drink. Otherwise - play it out.

    A few things:

    • Yes, killer can be very frustrating and toxic survivors make it worse. However, the solution isn't to punish everyone.
    • Losing an early gen or two is pretty expected on some maps. Often though, once you get your first hook you can translate that into a snowball and regain control of the game.
    • If need be, stake out a 3-4gen and control that area. You might not win, but it's your best option.
    • On the other hand, if you do get early hooks that usually translates into a snowball in your favor. That's just the nature of this game - it's snowbally.

Which is why a lot of people have suggested a 'concede' option for killer. However, this has to be balanced against not letting people smurf.

I said i enjoyed this game, way more than i do nowadays, and that is why i barely touch killer now except for rift or achievements.

A lot of times i get 2-4 hooks and 5 gens done. It's pretty obvious i am underperforming, so mmr is clearly not working. And of top of that i get survivors that are much much better than me. I would end afking and grabbing a drink a lot of matches if i do like you say, not just because the stall (which happens a lot when survivors realize they are better/have a good map), but because is depressing: 2 hooks 4 gens. The others come when i start camping when i see that there is one gen left. Is really sad

So its a bit of a rant and a bit of a, maybe, alert to the devs, if they even bother reading...

The game its unique, but if this keeps happening, is not going to last more than 2 years, imo

  • I got they classical: I hope you die, suicide, #########, im glad we ruined your match...

    Yeah very healthy...

    Sigh.

    Okay.

When you DC, you ruin the match for 4 other people. The killer now gets less BP and it doesn't feel good when you win because someone decided to screw their teammates over. The other 3 survivors now have a nearly impossible task ahead of them, especially if you DC early.

If most of your matches are miserable, I suggest you find another game.

Usually, when people say 'I DC if I'm not having fun' what they mean is 'I DC when it feels like I'm not going to get an easy win'.

Frankly, the DC penalty is way too lenient in this game.

I like this idea a lot.

It happens on killer too - I'll get a team that 99%'s the final gen and then plays hide and seek, or stalls the game out with sabos, dual locker flashlights etc. In these situations, I generally just go AFK, but it would be nice to have a 'okay you win, onto the next game' button.

I do think that it would need a limitation (like...once every 10 games or something, maybe more) to stop this from being an easy way to smurf though.

Also, im talking about killer here only, not survivor side, they can easily go to next match if they decide to by just getting hooked and suicide

Yeah, but when i get sent to maps, tbagged, clicky clicky, genrushed, verbally abused and so on, thats ok? TBH i dont care about the bloodpoints, and when players have a dc i usually just farm or give hatch. I just want to have some fun, apparently i cant anymore

But we are talking about time here: is either suffer 10-15 minutes or eat the penatly...

You say find another game. I enjoyed this game a lot, im deciding to play it and suggest changes, specially now that playing killer is miserable most of the time, why would i play other games? im trying to find solutions

Also, could add some killer bots, since the genrush is so intense ( in most of my matches when i get my first hook, i have already 2 gens done, that is a joke)

Im pretty sure a lot of casual players gave up killer because its unbearable atm, so even more points in favor of the bots, since the matches are going to be like that

The DC penalty literally exists to keep people like you from ruining the game, that is why.

If anything, they really need a 10 minute surrender to address the only valid gameplay related reason for leaving, being held hostage.

Oh sorry i forgot to say as a killer, as a survivor you can just suicide and leave, but as a killer? why force me to get bullied?

I prefer it how it is now, usually I'll be re-rolling cause I don't want to play Hag or something, but I do want another Killer challenge usually.

Love people that accept Killer is a mess to play but still go on to main Survivor.

I understand the frustration behind it, but overall i always enjoyed survivor more, of course im going to play survivor if i enjoy it more, but thats not the discussion here, more like mmr being ######### and making people not to play killer, for a reason: miserable matches

The Devs were talking about changes to Daily Rituals. Because there are more Killer Dailies than Survivor Dailies, which results in more of them popping up.

IMO at the very least, if you delete a Ritual from one side, you should get a Ritual from the other side. I do almost all Rituals, except for Killers I dont like to play. So if I delete a Hag-Daily and get a Trickster-Daily, nothing changed. And sometimes I even got the same Killer again, just a different Daily (Hag Daily to teleport-->Deleted-->Got 2 Sacrifices with Hag...).

This would already do a lot, if you get a Survivor Daily and dont want to play Survivor, you can reroll it and get a Killer Daily. And vice-versa.

Ah that makes sense, thats why i always get killer dailies...i hope they change that soon

  • @JPA said:

If you never play Killer then your MMR should be pretty low. If you don't have the patience to hit people with your power a few times against potato solo Q survivors then I don't know what to suggest

Oh, i have 2.5k hours so more or less i know what to do as a killer, problem is i always end with 4 escapes tbags and so on, so i stopped bothering with killer

  • If you are working towards rift: afk queue as killer while playing other games

Otherwise probably just unninstall for a while

  • I hope queue times get so bad that they actually do something because there is no point playing killer unless you enjoy getting tbagged and mocked 24/7

Its ######### horrid, no wonder queues for killers are insta, is a ######### meme

  • Considering how big the grind in this game is? for sure

  • No, unless its abused (farming bloodpoints...). I afk as killer while doing some work to get some extra rift fragments because you know, unless you play a lot, a normal person with a normal schedule cant complete it so...

  • @DawnMad said:

If you are on Wifi try switching to cabled. I very rarely get 200+ ping lobbies, normally my ping is around 50-100 throughout a match. It may be a you problem or a general problem with your location. If latter is the case then I'm sorry but you can't fix that.

Sadly, is not that, im using ethernet with 300mb fiber and on lobbies i usually get 40-60 ms, but then sometimes i randomly run into 300 ms matches, for some reason, and i just dont understand why am i put into those lobbies, in other games, maybe, but in this game is atrocious

  • Well, im just going to keep looking for the killer and suiciding then, because more than 150 ms is ######### unplayable in this game

  • If you get locked when queuing as a killer, same should be for survivors, the last second swap its just antifun and unsportsmanlike

  • Update: With no perks i got it first try.....

  • When running i can see how my scratchmarks are 'created' (see them for half a second). PC player here, different maps, same thing

  • AFK queue until you are low rank enough, then take your time to learn.

You can also have an horrid experience trying to learn in higher ranks, but thats your decision

If I had to muster any reason, its better to hope that last remaining player loads in in time, than booting everyone out mid-loading.

Personally i dont mind a slower load if its needed, its much better than a match canceled, i just wanna play xd. It's also weird, because this is only happening in the last 2 weeks mostly, at least for me

  • @Komi said:

The game actually has a timer for loading players into matches. This exists because sometimes a round may start before every player has actually finished loading. If the timer ends before everyone is in-game, it will terminate the match.

tldr: dial up users arent loading fast enough

I understand it, but why start a match if someone didnt load, or pair me with people that cant load at normal speed, if its going to be a error 500.. is just a waste of time for everyone. Those players should get paired accordingly, this is annoying

  • Everything is relative, so to see if killers are so easy we should only watch tournament level(the best of the best), where killers get usually destroyed....

  • I disagree, if a killer starts having a harder time without bloodlust its because matchmaking and map design; of course there are going to still be really umbalanced matches but lets forget about those. Dont forget that everything is relative, and that same killer might be a god when facing rank 20s so...

I like this experiment as long as the data collected is correctly interpretated: map design and matchmaking needs to keep improving

  • You can bind the key for skillchecks to a m4,5 or whatever your mouse has and rub your nipples with your free hand

Killers who rely on Bloodlust too much already do this.

What i question is: why do they need to rely on bloodlust? either bad matchmaking or bad loops. But as i said, if this test helps rework the bad loops, im all in with it

  • @FilledPizza said:

"Anywho. This kind of 'test' should of been done on the PTB, not the main game. The main game should be used for the best experience, not making harder on the most stressful role just for data."

Nobody is going to go on the PTB just to check this out.

What if they encourage people to play PTB by rewarding it in the main game? iri shards, few auric cells, bloodpoints.... could be nice

  • As long as it helps improve the bad loops...im fine with it

  • idk, smells like more hook camping/tunnel is coming this weekend, and cant blame them...

  • Friendly reminder that this is my opinion on this subject, and might be more or less accurated.

Its nice that we have some debate here, was interesting reading, but i still stand with my main point: the grinding required to complete it is not rewarded enough, imo.

The ultimate objective of the Rift its make more money, but i find it hard to believe that its actually getting better, and instead losing a lot of possible 'customers', considering the hours needed to complete it: Even if the average its 2h, the majority of the players dont play 2h a day, pretty sure about this. Most are just casuals, since its a casual game that only has one mode and can get boring quickly. If you focus your Rift on Average players (which i agree, they are devoted players), i think they are missing a lot of money. Time will tell, they have their data and for sure they are not stupid.

So my main take on this: They are losing the oportunity to get more money and have a more stable playerbase, since their battlepass its not casual friendly, and the majority of the players in this game are casuals just wanting some few fun matches, myself included at this point

  • Agree, the idea of the rift being the same grinding experience, no event for halloween (this is not an event), one game mode, bugs... video explains it pretty well. I love this game but im only losing interest in playing it lately :(
