  • Hard agree, like immensely!

She’d have the perfect one-liners and charisma in-game to compliment Nick Cage’s masterful vocal performance… not to mention all the great outfits we’ll get w her!

  • I love the comedic characters and personalities of Kristen Wiig and Julia Louis Dreyfus; also Jane Lynch. imo, they all have great potential for fun dialogue… although, they and most of the ppl suggested in this post probably wouldn’t do it anyway.

Helena Bonham Carter is ranges beyond Nick Cage, but still a good choice

Playing AGAINST them is boring more than anything else. They are predictable and easy to beat. The biggest issue from a survivor POV is how they refuse to rescue you. If the gates are powered then they aren't going to make any attempt to save you like most human players would. They will just leave. They also melt down when a terror radius is nearby. I had a bot going for a save awhile back. It literally ran RIGHT PAST ME and I went to stage two. This was because the terror radius showed up right as they were about to unhook. The killer was far enough away that the bot wasn't even at risk of being hit. They need a lot of work.

    👆🏽Agree

All of this has been my bot experience.

They’re useless when you have to play w them, and they’ve been zero threat against me when playing Killer.

  • Sweeet! Welcome to P100 club, lounge, realm whatever you wanna call it…

    You made it! Awesome dedication!

Nothing wrong w a li’l humble boasting in good efforts. I remember back when I had gotten my Nea to 50 after deciding to main Survivor (SoloQ, at that!) for a full year, on the way to P100ing her w/o Killer BP’s.

Yeah, that sucked😄 A lot of deflating sub-10K matches that made me rethink the strat.

Regardless, P100 always feels like a Super W, so congrats n thanks for sharing! Good motivation for me to get back to fully Prestiging my Sadako🥳

  • Past few years (or more?) Devs choose the most unexpected things to modify (butcher), and everything anticipated to receive changes gets blatantly, completely ignored.

Nevermind it mostly, but I’m understanding how it’s grating on ppls nerves.

Robert England's Freddy is so much more iconic than whoever it was that played him in that remake. Part of his character is the quips he makes which the remake doesn't give at all. I feel like BHVR should try their best to bring classic Freddy to the game with Robert England's voice and leave anything referencing that dumpster fire remake by the wayside.

    👆🏽This 💯

2010 remake features Jackie Earle Haley’s 5’5” attempt at Freddy Krueger showcasing a more serious tone, which pales pathetically in comparison to Robert Englund’s 5’10” sinister, yet spot-on witty-one-liner original, masterfully personalized and embodied far beyond method acting… RE fully, soulfully became Freddy Krueger

…yes, the height differential between the two was super noticeable (and still aggravates me that they chose JEH to play him that I had to mention it again🙄😄); Many looked at 2010’s Freddy as a silly little joke. DBD did such a great job transferring him to the game, that I can’t even take him seriously (fear factor-wise as Freddy Krueger) as a Killer, either.

  • Could’ve (should’ve?) done a Chucky/Tiffany combo… maybe sth where you switch between them and they each have their own separate powers; The one not being immediately used would have a AI like status where they disrupt Survivors from doing objectives or sth.

Anything moderately NEW would be welcome.

Devs often just regurgitate and mad scientist former Killer’s powers into a “new” power.

  • Thought it was a very good and thorough guide…

a very positive vibe guide, too😌

The “Pretend to Hook Survivors” paragraph had me giggling a bit😄 I often do this when I can tell I got matched w noob Survivors, so they don’t feel the game is too menacing at first.

Overall, when VS or playing as SMMyers, it’s always a fun experience for me, and I always hope to make it just as fun for Survivors I face. There are different levels of intensity I play at depending on what Survivor groupings I’m lobbied with, but they more often than not vibe well w SMMyers matches; Though, my preference is just extensive stalking and hitting the jumpscares well, maybe a couple downs.

These matches feel better, imo, when they aren’t kill/sacrifice games, but I know ppl want the points and do care to not depip, especially in Red Ranks. For this reason, I play Scratched Mirror matches closer to rank reset if I wanna be a peaceful stalky Myers.

Some of my best experiences in DBD were from friendly and memeing Myers players☺️

  • Yeah kinda daft take, even somewhat selfish, tbh

Stranger Things is for everybody, and would have been for everyone had it never left in the first place. New players over the past 2 years of ST’s absence would’ve happily purchased the DLC and enjoyed it.

It’s very special enough that those of us who were fortunate to play the ST content for the 2yrs it was available we’re able to do so then…

but for anyone that missed out, this is sth beloved to be shared w them first and foremost, and the fact that we can all now play matches on Hawkins w our fav characters, together, is absolutely the high point of the license returning to DBD.

It’s cool to get new skins, but

”We were original ST players” trophy cosmetics just seems unnecessary, imo

  • IMG_8896.jpeg

Probably supposed to be Chucky’s knife on the wall

Chucky is like 2 1/2 feet tall, and Michael Myer’s knife on that magnetic strip would just look humongous in comparison to the shadow presented in the pic. MM’s height ranged from 5’11” to 6’9” over all the films. His knife looks gigantic in his huge hand.

While Michael most likely respects Chucky for what he does, he has to be laughing inside at how small his little knife is.

Predator is going to hunt and kill Michael then put his knife there. :)

sheesh… you have it all figured out don’t ya😄

srsly tho, would be cool to see Predator cleaning Myer’s skull n admiring the new trophy

  • also… thankfully Predator doesn’t use chef’s knives. Still unsure as to why everyone is so certain Pred’s the next killer🤷🏼‍♀️

  • That 8 inch chefs knife w 6 inch handle would be like a sword for Chucky, who is 29 inches tall😄

    could be him tho, idk

  • Hahaa! Yeah, been saying how DBD just couldn’t possibly lure me back into playing until they make some healthy changes

    …annnd Stranger Things😄

srsly tho, still not fully maining DBD, but it’ll get some time for the sake of my beloved Hawkins☺️

  • Now gimme back all my Hawkins National Laboratory ID offerings I had saved up so we can go to the Underground Complex every match for the rest of the year🥳😂

  • OH MY GODDDD❣️❣️❣️

    Are you freaking serious!???🥹

I’m legit crying rn😭 SO much emotion! I can’t believe it!!!

Hawkins, I missed you so freaking hard, omgzzz dude! Wow🥰

Thanks for posting this, I fr thought nothing would get me playing this flawed game again, n I really don’t wanna tbh, but I’m stokaliciously elated to enter into freshly resurrected Hawkins, good DBD, ppl you have no idea how sad I was that they rip’d this map!

It's true it's a good approximation. But I believe enunciating an accurate "é" sound is difficult for an English speaker. They tend to do an "è" instead.

    Yes yes, all facts

I should probz’ve said it’s properly pronounced “Mel” like Mel-B or Mel-C from the OG Spice Girls n then the letters “O” and “D” respectively.

    Mel-O-D

Tho it’s true, ppl from various regions will sound different when they speak the name. Most Southern US born n raised residents would sound like they’re saying “MayLahDay”😄

Mft helps you when being chased in deep wounds. If the Killer doesn't chase you then you mend and continue working on gens.

You aren't describing an actual the issue. The perk is still good in the situation it's meant to be. It's no longer free haste.

With Deep Wound now part of MfT, there are standard ‘pauses’ in chase (around objects: walls, rocks, etc. while mindgaming the Killer) where the DW status bar depletes, causing the on-screen visual impairment. This, on its own, wasn’t present in the OG MfT, and won’t be worth using the perk for many ppl, for this very reason.

You now have to loop the Killer with shoddy visibility the longer the chase lasts. If you’re mending mid chase to avoid visual impairment and/or being put into the dying state via DW, it’s defeating the purpose of the 3% haste MfT touts that’ll disappear once you’re fully mended anyway.

The perk just won’t be worth the usage for many players.

ikr😄 Here ya go tho, directly from the mouths of Mathieu Côté and Dave Richard, as they pronounce her name as ‘Fung’ during the DevStream 6 yrs ago for the Doc chapter release, in the presence of Gabby🥳 Luv her❣️

  • Yeah, it’s like Melody w/o the ‘M’

PaulieEsther is pretty accomplished at making certain names are pronounced correctly. I never knew Feng Min’s name was pronounced Fung Min until he explained to us in chat years ago.

Anyway, he pronounces Élodie’s name like that

  • About 50/50 when it’s a multi Gen chase from me that loses them the game, wether Killers will give me hatch/gate props or perform the slug-camp of shame.

Often post-match convo will reveal the truth of their intentions… especially when escapes are granted over players having a soft spot for whichever character I played as.

I pretty much always give hatch to last survivor, especially if it’s one of my bestie girls🫶🏽

I have it with Ghostface too but he's like a 7 or 8 on my meter. Pig dials it up to 11.

Yeah, they both sneak up crouched! I always get a different ‘startled’ vibe w Myers when he pops out standing silently, but still gets my heart racing😄

    IMG_8874.jpeg

You could always try playing as Meggers wearing her ‘Boop the Snoot’ mask n letting Pig know you’re a big fan… maybe it’ll help if ya see Pig more often in a friendly manner.

fwiw tho, I’ve played w GF and Pig since they released and still get uneasy at the start of every match when the Killer hasn’t yet been revealed n I kno it might be them sneaking up🫣 Especially on indoor maps.

I dont think that Made for This enabled such long chases. MAYBE with very skilled Survivors, but I dont think they needed Made for This to begin with. In general, for this Perk to be effective the Survivor had to be good. It is not a Perk which turns bad Survivors into good Survivors, you cannot change bad pathing by just slapping on 3% more Movement Speed.

The thing is that the Perk is not balanced. The Perk is dead. This is the problem. If the Perk would be nerfed but still an option to pick, it would be fine. But this is not the case.

The 10 seconds of Endurance rarely came up, now with less use of the Perk, even less likely that it will happen. And if you want 10 seconds of Endurance, you can rather run Buckle Up and For The People, which does not provide 3% Speedboost in Deep Wounds, but helps both Survivors (which is more valuable IMO). And the 3% Speedboost in Deep Wound are way too situational to be useful, since you cannot reliable achieve this. You are 100% dependent on the Killer putting you into Deep Wound. And while this is the same for being injured, you will 100% get injured every game. But for Deep Wound... The Killer can either avoid it by not hitting the Survivor directly after Unhooking or waiting out DH (which is now 100% possible) OR by not chasing them if they have OTR. Hitting the Survivor will be enough when they have OTR (which the Killer knows if they have it) and then they can leave this Survivor and they will also not really get value out of MfT.

So yeah... Not balanced, really. I dont really understand why people have to downplay the Nerf so much, the Perk is dead.

Yep! While I have no issue w nerfing sth that’s potentially problematic, gutting perks to the extent where they aren’t worth using is unacceptable.

The fact that this has happened numerous times before to where players seldom or haven’t at all been using these next-to-useless perks (DS, MoM, CoH, OoO, even DH), and that we know MfT is dead and will be joining that list… the Devs absolutely know this, as well.

The reality that they know, and still insist on massacring perks (both sides, Survivors hit the hardest w things given and taken away, imo) speaks volumes about the Developers of DBD.

  • @Ariel_Starshine said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3575615#Comment_3575615

Nope, it's dead. Like most of the other perks. I don't see what is so funny about perk bloat and them making characters to sell perks. But hey, if that's what you want to support, by all means. Anyway, a fool and his money are soon parted, I'm sure this cycle will continue and killer and survivor alike will continue to sell very well with these types of perks :))

I only used it with a healing build I tried out before, as I don't have issues looping/kiting. Got bored, took it off and use smash hit instead. Almost every killer rage quits against me. So don't even think for a second it's because I rely on it. Has to do with balance vs killing perks for survivor and killer alike and causing perk bloat, which is a problem.

As I've said before, my 10 year old niece gets 4K kills easily and never has had an issue with it. That's a kid.

Balance is not the same as killing off a perk. Yeah it's so useful when you have a deep wound, which is so common, happens so often you'll get so much use out of it. Like we're talking Windows of Opportunity use here! I'm sure it'll have a very high pick rate still to show how balanced it truly is. What a wonderful day to be alive.

Shall we go back to the original eruption "balance?", oh, I mean nerf. Yanno, the one that caused so much complaining that they actually BALANCED it. That perk is nothing to scoff at.

Please do not try to rationalize the nerf, and call it balance. Admit it's nerfed to the ground and move on. Defense mechanisms are so easy to spot.

Should I end my post with a condescending "lmao" as well? Nah, I don't feel that petty and childish.

Starting to wonder why I waste time even bothering replying on here, so much more productive things to do then point out this junk. Waste of my time arguing with these one sided close minded types.

The perk is extremely situational now. It not garbage but no one will use it after this.

Exactly what everyone who hated it wanted.

Even after nerfs, Eruption and P.Rez are still fairly frequently used; DH not so much, nevertheless not nearly as phantom as CoH, MoM, DStrike and even Object are after their butchering to uselessness.

fwiw, I never used MfT, as I didn’t really find it overly useful enough, personally, to swap a perk for it, but I also never had any issues taking down Survivors who ran it, either. It was just mid, imo.

Guess that’s just it, tho… majority rules

  • Hahaa, yes!

In 2018-2019 I was playing around 10-12hrs everyday (15hrs daily, weekends) for like 7 months. When I went anywhere, and especially while working, (I worked overnight at a resort lodge, at the time) I was seeing everything in “DBD vision.” The surroundings became in game maps. I’d envision pallet locations, evasion or cutoff routes, and at times I’d find myself evading ppl and even sneaking up on others w/o even fully realizing the gravity of that was taking place. It was fun imagining and even feeling like I was still in the game while living life, but after while, realizing how addicted I was to DBD was an intense awakening. Most all my thoughts were consumed by this game.

Every night for months was a DBD dream, and that’s all there were. They weren’t graphically toned, like the game itself, either; It was surreal, and extreme, like an out of body experience of being in the entity’s realm as a Survivor with other random ppl and some characters from the game; gens, hiding, being chased, etc., along with abstract convo, and incoherent sensations, like I wasn’t always in control. But it was never friendly, and the vibe was fearful. Weirdly tho, no one ever died. I remember others being attacked, and several of the actual Killers from the game being in the dreams. It was always oppressive with an atmosphere of dread.

Happy I stopped gaming so often, and that I’m not addicted to this game anymore, for sure😌

Still have occasional DBD dreams when I play a few 6hr days in a week, but they’re infrequent and mild. I attribute this to not playing nearly as often. Thankfully haven’t had any since stopping play in August🥳

Hey, awesome topic btw, and thanks for sharing!

It’s cool and kinda relieving hearing of other’s DBD dream experiences. Makes me feel less like a weirdo or sth😅

  • I also don’t do it often, but for example, have noticed when Gens are prioritized (not even where they’re close to being completed and it may carry into 2nd stage… I mean, like, you get hooked and they hop onto fresh 0 prog gens… this after you 3gens-worth looped the Killer) and you manually induce 2nd stage after seeing they aren’t coming for you in time, that’s when they’ll race over to toxically repeatedly grab you on hook ‘til almost stage 3 before pulling you off, in some self-gratifying attempt at punishing you for what they would consider “throwing” 🙄 All the while, they could’ve been doing that brand new Gen they opted to prioritize, over walking the 20 meters for the rescue.

Don’t get these types of players often, but whenever ya do it’s always a deep sigh n an eternal eyeroll on MMR.

It’s true tho, many SoloQ players don’t have a actual pulse on the game

Survivors often give up in situations like this, but also don't like rewarding the killer in a hopeless situation. Gens required to power the exit gate should scale based on how many survivors are left. 2 survivors needing to do 4 gens to escape isn't worth it, and will rarely end well for them. The game can change too quickly in favor of the killer, so there needs to be balance in this regard.

This comment alone, should be forwarded to every Dev’s inbox, daily. Why after 7 freaking years they still have yet to implement sth similar to this and make every match somewhat more of a actual game and not just the typical boring, stale scenario speaks volumes.

    It’s a cool idea, dude.

I think not everyone here is upset at all, actually contrariwise, I’m super stoked if Devs added more spooky themed horror vibes like Thunder and Lightning and help bring DBD back to the original feel of what it was years ago, and then continued expand upon that.

Like I said earlier, we need a good spooky haunted house realm or a straight up rainy, flashy thunder crashy slasher map, or sth.

  • Also a guilty pleasure… Offering up realms specific to their Survivor I see in Lobby:

Laurie gets Haddonfield, Nea gets Crotus, Cheryl goes back to Midwich etc., and it’s especially fun if I happen to be playing as that realm’s original Killer!

  • Like to offer up Gideon for the indoor multi-floor vibe as Survivor… then miraculously, every time, face off against top tier Nurse, Dredge, or a fully loaded Doc.

Could simply be a on/off button. It doesn't have to be any crazy lightning that hits the map, maybe off in the distance or something.

True true; However they implement the T&L fx I feel it would be a pleasant addition to the environment, really intensifying the atmosphere, like watching a horror flick.

Somehow DBD has moved slightly away from those eerie vibes the game once had. Would be nice to see some focus back to the OG DBD slasher flick appeal. T&L would be a good start.
